I Can Compare Your Love To A Summer Breeze. One Day It Is There, The Next, Gone. Without A Trace, A Smooth

I can compare your love to a summer breeze. One day it is there, the next, gone. Without a trace, a smooth denial in its place. Well practiced. Well sounded. Not a fault in your tone. I rather burn without your coolness, I do not need your ice in my bones.

You are only a temporary love

I don't know what happened for fate, or destiny, or maybe just sheer coincidence, to push us together, but I have a feeling that whatever happens from here will only strengthen the nonexistent bond that we have yet to form.

Falling for you was the easiest thing I’ve done. Falling felt like going to bed after a long day. Like admiring nature after the hike to get there. It felt like knowing I was home after being away for so long. It felt like wishing I had gotten the courage to speak to you sooner.

You wouldn’t know how good I am at lying until you give me a reason to trust you.

I don’t even trust myself

When you left, I thought part of me died. No part of me died when you came back and ripped my heart out like it was nothing, like you felt nothing.

Can everything stop? Not forever, just for a few minutes. Just a few minutes to sort out my life. A few minutes to let out my frustrations without anyone having to know. A few minutes to just be happy. Because once they are over I won’t be ready to face the reality I live in. Can everything stop? I need a few minutes.

Things I won't tell anymore

The butterflies in my stomach always seem to come out when I see your name on my phone.

Being happy hurts. It’s one truth of the world no one wishes to speak about. Being happy doesn’t allow for sadness. Being happy doesn’t allow for others to help you. And lord forbid that you actually say that you aren’t ‘happy’.

“But you have a such a good life”
