Since pro ai people don’t listen to the whole “ai is ruining creativity and critical thinking” I have come up with something (as a creative writing student):

“While the use of AI has some theoretically promising applications, because of what I want to do with my education I find it important to learn how to work through problems/projects/whatever using a bare-bones, unaided approach before implementing technology that, in theory, could help me. If I don’t know how to do (the thing that applies to your situation) without ai then ai wouldn’t actually help me in the long run”

Plus from a harsher standpoint: “how tf am I supposed to get a job in my field and actually know what’s going on if I use ai instead of applying critical thinking skills…my ass is gonna get fired a year in because fundamental parts of my education have been replaced by using ai to find the answers for me”

im soon gonna start a new class with a professor ive already had whom i know is pro ai and actively uses it. when i tell her i don't want her to include ai in my education ik she's gonna ask why and i know why but i need some actual structured arguments that'll sound good to a university professor and not just me screaming in her face for ten minutes so please help a gal out. she would've told me to ask ai for this but i will never and instead venture to mankind's most reliable source: strangers on the internet
