Good Lord. If You Say A Trans Woman Is Secretly A Man, You Are Misgendering Her, Which Means You Are

Good lord. If you say a trans woman is secretly a man, you are misgendering her, which means you are being transmisogynistic.

It's not that complicated.

*grabs your hands and speaks to you in a tone that is so gentle* they/them pronouns stop being universal once you learn a person's pronouns. Sometimes that person's pronouns will include they/them and in that specific case you are allowed to keep using those pronouns for that person. In any case where you learn a persons pronouns and that person doesn't use they/them, you should no longer use those pronouns for that person. If you continue to use they/them pronouns knowing that person doesn't use them, you are now misgendering that person. Kindly stop doing that please. Thank you, I love you.

Block people who make bad faith posts about trans women's struggles by saying trans men do not struggle.

Block people who post on trans men's vents by suggesting they don't suffer as profoundly as their sisters.

Block people who try to make you turn against the women and others who make up our family.

Do not allow yourself to become bitter and jealous, protect yourself and you will be protecting our community.

Daily reminder that :

-Validating a trans person's manhood only when you want to exclude them from certain communities is not being a trans ally.

-Validating a trans person's manhood only when you want to make them seen inherently predatory towards women is not being a trans ally.

-Validating a trans person's manhood only when you want to make comments such as ''eww...why would you want to be a man...?'' or ''k!ll all men, including trans men'' is not being a trans ally.

-Validating a trans person's manhood only when you want to talk about how they inherently have ''male privileges'' over women is not being a trans ally.

-Validating a trans person's manhood only when you want to exclude them from conversations about misogyny or reproductive rights is not being a trans ally.

You all realize Feminists have been critiquing "women only spaces" for decades right?

I think often about Audre Lorde's critique of a women only event that welcomed her wife and daughter, but not her son. Because she questioned it - the function and purpose of barring even the sons of Feminist women from Feminist events. Especially the barring of her young Black son, who would otherwise be left alone in the city where he would be more prone to the very violence those same Feminist women claimed to want to change.

Because what functional, forward thinking Feminist purpose does it actually serve to do that? What message does that send to women with sons, husbands, brothers, lovers, friends, who want to involve the men and boys in their lives in their activism? Who want to build a functionally better world for us all outside of the oppressive grasp of Patriarchy? Especially for the marginalized men who often sit at their own intersection violent Patriarchal oppression, that still happens to be Patriarchal oppression despite it not being distinctly misogyny?

What purpose does it truly serve to sequester yourself away into a pocket of the world, detached from those you share it with? What bright and shining future does that really promise you?

Transgender transphobes on tumblr:

“Trans men are subhuman! I hope all TMEs get cancer and die! Forced pregnancy isn’t that bad, these whiny bitches should be grateful they can get pregnant!”

The same trans transphobes in their personal posts: “IDK why, It’s like, I have no trans friends… I just feel so miserable all the time… everyone hates me…”

Gee, I wonder if there’s a correlation here. Maybe log off until you’ve learned to be a halfway decent person.

It does go to show that the majority of the LGBT+ community isn't like this, however. It's just a handful of deeply miserable and self-loathing people who prefer hurting others over trying to fix their own issues. Their word should never be taken as gospel, or a reflection of what the rest of us think

Don't talk to tar pits, just report, block, and move on.

I can't take the whole discourse around people going "forcefem is better than forcemasc because it's subversive! People who like forced masculinization are just STEALING from forcefem!" seriously because of these 4 points:

1. Forcefem started with cis men who enjoy being feminized as a form of humiliation, and they make up the majority of practitioners today. Yes, it's also really important to the transfem kink community and it brings many people gender euphoria, so that's great! But... you really can't steal a kink. There's no kink plagiarism. You're not getting kicked out of Kink University for enjoying similar themes.

2. It's not your business what other trans adults do in the bedroom/kink spaces. What causes dysphoria for you might make someone else euphoric. Don't yuck my yum or whatever. Just block the tag if you don't like it, we're all grownups here. I have both tags blocked bc they make me dysphoric, but you don't see me throwing a tantrum about it.

3. Imagine doing this with any other kink.

"Spanking is better than waxplay because it's subversive! You candle-lovers are doing painplay all wrong!"

"Bondage with handcuffs is way better than bondage with ropes, because when you use handcuffs you're RECLAIMING that from cops! Rope bunnies are just coping because their kink doesn't mean anything!"

4. The people who spend all their time arguing online about kink discourse probably aren't getting laid anyway.

So it's really not as pertinent to their lives as they think it is.
