idk if u still take req, but i've been thinking purge trooper cody hunting child padawan reader who living with obi-wan in tattoine. it's like battle with himself rather than the two jedi, like yk trying to resist inhibitor chip. slight codywan will be cute

ignore this if u don't seems interested, thankuu for all u'r hardwork! i love every single of it!!

Purge trooper Cody on the brain! Did I stray a little from the prompt? Maybe-

“Dead of Night”

Could this be a follow up to this old fic (x) maybe but I’m not sure…

Summary: Cody tracked them down, spotted together were the 2 people that haunted his dreams. He was a good soldier, he had to be

Pairing: purge trooper Cody x GN!padawan reader (PLATONIC)

Warning: guilt hurt/comfort (that’s all I could find really but let me know if I missed any)

Word count: 1256 (not proof read at all)

Notes: I swear I posted this a few days ago, sorry for disappearing

Idk If U Still Take Req, But I've Been Thinking Purge Trooper Cody Hunting Child Padawan Reader Who Living

This armor wasn’t his.

It sat wrong on his lean frame, heavier than the one before. Cody shook his shoulder out before slipping the dark helmet onto his head.

He missed his sunshine armor from so long ago.

If he thought ever so hard Cody could almost hear the faint laugh of once before while painting the sun burst on his armor.

These thoughts never seemed to stick around.

A blaster still hung at his hip accompanied by the unfamiliar weight of the eltro-shock staff many of the purge troopers use.

Unethical. Cody thought stomping down the halls the to docked ship waiting to take him away. The weight and feeling of said weapon made him sick.

The ship rustled under his feet during take off, so caught up in his thoughts the dread of this mission sank into his bones.

The sun never seemed more dull.

•••

Sand was everywhere. The sun radiated heat over the barren lands where a small house was situated. If you could even call it that.

Watching the twin suns set for the one-millionth time seemed always new and different. The warm colors filled your eyes and cover your skin in a honey color.

A chest plate was clutched in your lap. The names started to fade ever so slightly, but with the many times you’ve read over them the order was engraved in your memory.

As the suns took its last peak over the horizon before finally submitting to the darkness that bled into the cloudless sky, you spoke softly names names that were painted into the backside of the chest plate.

Starting with the familiar signature of your master and the commanders closely under his, ending with Trapper and the small name of Rex’s tucked into the corner.

From the front of the shelter you heard the calls from your master. The urgency in his voice made your blood run cold and to discard the piece of armor off to the side.

“Y/N” Obi-wan said once again as you stoped near his side, a comm was clutched tightly in his hand.

You nodded your head slightly in acknowledgement waiting for him to say something else.

“Comms and intel found an emperial shuttle inbound.” His tone was even and cold as it has been the entire time on this desolate planet.

“Is this worrisome?” The word master almost slipped past your teeth as you fought long and hard to break the habit for safety reasons.

With a sigh Obi-wan answered. “Not necessarily, it looks like it’s going to land near the town the check things out there.” He turned fully to you now placing a gentle hand on your shoulder.

“There’s nothing to worry too much about young one, but the village will be off limits until they leave.”

A weight was slightly lifted off your chest with his somewhat reassuring words. The slight shake in your hands were present while you patted your old masters arm.

This wasn’t easy on either of you. It never will be.

The brisk wind of the night rattled through your bones jolting you awake. It was new that it wasn’t a nightmare this time and for that you were thankful.

The soft shuffle of Obi-wan under a shear blanket was the only other noise you could hear besides your own breaths.

You knew he was a soft sleeper, now more than ever. But something deep within, long since been buried reignited.

A pull of something through the force while you tried to be rid of it never it truly seemed to be gone for long.

In the distance a small flicker of a light danced along the horizon. If it was a flashlight of some sorts it would imply that the holder was running.

The feeling again bubbled in your chest as you took a few steps out on the soft sand. One look over your shoulder showed your master still resting.

You couldn’t turn now. Whatever force god was watching over you wouldn’t allow it. The existence of fate was a touchy subject.

Strong winds continued to try and knock you down while you persisted through to whoever was on their way

Calls of your name was lost to the breeze in the dead of night. Oblivious of the man that followed you continued forward.

You stoped dead in your tracks while the figure approached further. The force surrounding this individual was sweet and familiar, normally lighting up your face with a smile.

Normally.

Something else, more complex and darker seemed to look around the edges but not close enough to deter you.

The man shook slightly from the spot that he watched from. You watched the twitchy movements as a hand flew too his blaster, but never touching it.

Instead another hand slowly reached for the dark helmet that masked him from you.

A ghost stood in front of you. Once you never thought you’d see again. The great maker above was clearly playing a sick twisted joke on you.

His name could barely form on you lips while taking a few steps back from the man you never thought you’d see again. The one that along with his brothers betrayed you.

You felt a shuffle to your side; the words “Drop your weapons’ rang out through the night from your master.

A blaster of his own didn’t shake. Stepping in front of you the sight of the man in front of you made your master take another look as well.

Obeying he threw the blaster that seemed to stick closer to him than any other trooper he started working with, and the foreign weapon that he didn’t want to be associated with anymore.

Dropping his helmet as well Cody fell to one of his knees, a hand came a cradled the side of his head.

Both you and your master were frozen where you stood. The cloudy eyes of yours tore through every defense that Obi-wan tried so hard to put up.

Through the wind the quiet cries blew to your ears. Your Cody was hurting; in more ways than one.

“Master” you almost begged as you both took a step forward.

Obi-wan tried so hard to keep the people in his life safe. Sabine, Anakin, Cody, and now you. Every buzzer in his mind was ringing saying this was a trap. That he should take you and run.

He was at the purge troopers side in a moment. Obi-wan’s strong embraced engulfed Cody and the weight crashed into him.

For months now this was all that he wanted.

Everything to be drowned out.

“Oh my love.” Was whispered slightly into his ear, Cody was quick to wrap his arms protectively around his general. The one that wasn’t going to get away again.

Cody’s cries became louder while another body wrapped around his shaking form. Weapons and enemies forgotten Cody let down all his walls and the floodgates opened.

“My head hurts.” Was the only thing Cody could get past his teeth and oh boy was it true. His own mind seemed to turn against him, to scream at him that he shouldn’t be doing this.

Good soldiers follow orders.

But even better ones protect those who stand besides them.

“We’ve got you now Cody.” Your voice flooded his ears, blocking out the screams of yours that haunted his every moment. “We can help you.”

Masked by the dead of night only tomorrow would they realized that another soldier went AWOL.

A Mother's Lullaby

Jedi!Fem!Reader & 501st

A Mother's Lullaby

Summary: After returning home from a long campaign, you and your soldiers find it difficult to fall asleep. Echo has a bad dream which starts a chain reaction of clones entering your room looking for a different place to sleep for the night.

Pairing: Jedi!Fem!Reader & 501st

Characters: Rex, Fives, Echo, Jesse, Hardcase, Tup, Kix, Dogma

Tags & Warnings: platonic clone cuddles, snuggles, and kisses, smidge of angst, comfort, fluff

Word Count: 3k

Author’s Note: I came up with this one from a dream I had. All gestures are 100% platonic. The lullaby the reader sings can be found here. Honestly, these boys need all the cuddles, snuggles, and love they can get. As always, please enjoy! 💚

A Mother's Lullaby

After being away for several rotations on a long campaign with the 501st, you have finally made it back home to Coruscant. You leave your weary troops in the barracks and head towards your chambers to clean up and get some rest. You enjoy your first warm meal in what feels like forever and hop in the shower to wash the grime off your skin. You let the hot water caress your body as you stand underneath its invigorating spray, never wanting to leave the warmth.

You finish your shower, slip on your night clothes, and crawl into your bed. You nestle under the covers and take a deep breath, letting the familiar scents of your room fill your senses. There’s nothing quite like sleeping in one’s own bed. At last, you can get some good sleep. Sleep during campaigns is always a hit or miss and never the top priority, but when you’re here, when you’re home, you can sleep comfortably knowing no one is trying to end your life or the life of your men.

However, tonight you endlessly toss and turn in your bed. You're exhausted, you know it, you can feel it. You want to sleep desperately, but something is keeping you awake. You continue to toss and turn, but slumber seems to escape you. You sigh and stare up at the ceiling in defeat. So much for a good night's rest. After all those long nights on the hard ground with blaster and cannon fire, you wish for nothing more than to sleep.

Unexpectedly, you’re pulled out of your thoughts by a presence entering your room. It’s too dark to see anything, but through the force, you can see exactly who it is. “Echo?” You ask while sitting up against your pillow.

“Ah, sorry to wake you General,” Echo answers while putting an awkward hand on his neck.

“I wasn’t asleep,” You admit with a sigh as you rub your forehead. “Are you having trouble sleeping too?”

“I…” Echo begins to answer, but hesitates, unsure of how to say what he wants to say. “I had a bad dream.”

You cock your head to the side and give him a sympathetic smile, “Dreams are only dreams, Echo. They can’t hurt you.”

“Yeah,” Echo agrees half-heartedly. “I know.”

You sense he has something else to say, but he is too nervous to ask you. “Is there something else you want, Echo?” You ask to try and get him to tell you. “You know you can talk to me about anything.”

Echo opens his mouth to speak, but then closes it. He doesn’t want to step out of bounds with you as his General, but he also doesn’t want to go back to the barracks. Finally, he musters the courage and asks, “Can I sleep here tonight?”

You’re initially taken aback by the request, but your heart softens towards the tired clone. The nightmares that plague him must be horrific if he wants to sleep with his General. You think about it for a moment, but decide that it won’t hurt to let him stay the night with you. You pat the empty portion of the bed to the right of you to show him your approval, “Come here.”

Still a little wary of the idea, Echo meanders his way over to the bed and crawls from the base up to where you are. You stretch out your arm and invite him to rest his head on your chest. He obliges with a little hesitancy and you gently drape your arm over his side and back. You can feel every ounce of tension in his body escape at your touch. He breathes deeply and lets out a relaxed sigh, knowing nothing can hurt him now.

You smile at the clone clinging to you and run your fingers through his hair. As a Jedi, you’re not allowed to have attachments, but there’s nothing in the code that says you can’t show compassion. These clones. They’re children, stuck in adult bodies, fighting a war that they never asked for. They never asked to be created. They never asked to be expendable. They never asked to be slaughtered. The least you can do is to offer them some sort of comfort.

As you settle in with Echo and to try to get some rest, you sense another presence come into your room. Perhaps you should keep your room locked from now on. As the figure enters your dark room, you can see through the force that its Fives. “Looking for Echo?” You ask knowingly.

“Uh, yeah,” Fives answers with a jolt of surprise. “How’d you know?”

“The domino twins will always be inseparable,” You chuckle softly. “Where one goes, the other usually follows.”

“I didn’t think we were that predictable,” Fives rolls his eyes.

“Let’s just say that it doesn’t take a force wielder to know your thoughts,” You explain with a smile. “Would you like to join your brother?”

“I can’t sleep well without him nearby,” Fives admits as he crawls over the base of the bed and scooches next to Echo.

“Better?” You ask while looking over at him.

“Much better,” Fives answers as he nuzzles into the blankets.

You look down at both the clones now sleeping in your bed and you smile. You never thought something like this would occur, but here you are. It’s not that you don’t want them here, but you do feel a weird sense of maternal instinct as they lay there in your presence. Clearly they feel safe with you, but you’re not sure why. Other than being their General, leading them into battle, force healing their wounds, and giving them pep-talks, you’re not sure why they are attached to you.

Your thoughts are once again interrupted by a figure entering your room. You let out a slightly exasperated sigh when you realize it is yet another clone tip-toeing his way into your bedroom. “Looking for something, Jesse?” You ask the sneaking clone.

Caught by surprise, Jesse stumbles back into the wall. “Uh, well, you see,” He begins to explain in earnest. “Echo and Fives aren’t in their bunks, and they’re usually up to no good when they’re together, so I went looking for them.”

“Well, you found them,” You point out in a hushed tone. “They’re right here, sleeping with me.”

Jesse pauses as he thinks about the situation before him. “Can…” He begins to ask. “Can I sleep here too?”

“I don’t see why not,” You answer. Your bed is definitely big enough, but you’re still not sure why all these clones want to sleep in your room. They have the barracks and bunks of their own, and they sleep with all their brothers. It is odd to you, but nevertheless, you let him climb into bed with you, Echo, and Fives. He crawls over the end of the bed and situates himself on the left side of the bed, across from the others. Close, but not close enough to touch you. You smile at his reservation.

As you begin to nod off, you’re pulled awake by yet another disturbance in your room. You wonder if you’re ever going to get any sleep at this rate. You look up at the figure standing across from the bed and with a sigh you ask them what they want, “What do you need Hardcase?”

“Oh, you knew it was me, huh?” Hardcase asks with a little embarrassment.

“You have a very distinct pattern in the force,” You answer with a small yawn.

“Really?” He questions with great interest. “I do?”

“Technically, you all do,” You explain further. “So, what can I do for you?”

“Jesse, Echo, and Fives aren’t in their bunks,” Hardcase begins to explain. “I thought they went to the refresher, but when they didn’t come back, I got worried.”

You smile at him and his concern for his brothers. “Don’t worry,” You soothe. “They’re right here with me.”

“What?” He questions with reproach. “They get to sleep with you? No fair!”

“Would you like to sleep here too?” You propose, thinking one more clone wouldn’t hurt.

“Really?” He asks with excitement. “Can I?”

“Only if you keep your voice down,” You hush as you feel Echo stir under your arm.

“Oh,” He quickly whispers. “Right. Gotcha. I’ll be quiet.”

Hardcase crawls into bed next to Jesse and Jesse wraps an arm around his brother to make sure he feels included. You look \around at the group of clones covering your bed and let out a small chuckle. You’re not sure how one turned into four, but there’s no going back now. You can only hope that no more wayward clones will show up in your bedroom looking for a different place to sleep or their missing brothers.

However, your thoughts betray you as you sense Kix’s force presence entering your room. Should have seen that one coming. “If you’re looking for Echo, Fives, Jesse, or Hardcase, they’re here with me,” You announce, deciding to jump to the chase.

“You sound exhausted,” Kix jests as he folds his arms. “I can make them leave, you know.”

“It’s fine,” You answer while running your fingers through Echo’s hair. You remind yourself why you began this little clone sleepover in the first place and smile softly. “Sometimes, we just need each other.”

“Amen to that,” Kix agrees. “You got room for one more?”

“Of course,” You smile at the medic. “Grab a spot wherever you can find one.”

Kix crawls over Jesse and Hardcase, kicking them playfully in the process, and flops himself across from you near the edge of the bed. He grabs a fistful of covers and nuzzles them softly. You smile wide at his childish movements. They really are just children. Children who had their childhoods stolen from them. You can’t quite reach Kix, but if you could, you would rub his back to lull him to sleep. Maker knows medics need their sleep.

No sooner does Kix settle in, do you feel another force presence enter the room. This one is a little more cautious, as if he’s contemplating that he doesn’t belong. You feel his hesitation and call out to him, “Dogma. You can come in.”

“General,” He acknowledges as he steps closer. “I don’t mean to intrude.”

“You’re not intruding, Dogma,” You reassure the hesitant clone.

“Can…” Dogma begins, still feeling like he’s not allowed to ask for this. “Can I sleep here too?”

Your heart softens at his innocent and heartfelt plea, and you smile at him, “Yes, Dogma. You’re welcome here too.”

He smiles back and crawls across the edge of the bed and nestles neatly just below Echo and Fives. You wonder about Dogma sometimes, because he keeps to himself a lot and has trouble opening up to others. You feel great reservation from him, even on the battlefield. But you’ve heard from the others that his previous General was abusive and uncaring. It breaks your heart that anyone could be so malicious towards such beautiful souls. They didn’t deserve that.

Suddenly, you feel an intense presence of sadness and fear enter your room. Your heart begins to race as the force scrunches around you. You want to jolt up out of bed, but you don’t want to disturb your sleeping clones. As the force becomes less distorted, you can finally see who it is. “Tup?” You ask with concern. “Are you okay? You scared me.”

“They left me alone,” Tup says through a shaky breath while clenching his fists. “I don’t want to be alone.”

The pain in his voice breaks your heart. Every ounce of maternal instinct in you tells you to get up and hug this sad clone until all his pain is gone, but you can’t get up at the moment, not with all these sleeping clones surrounding your every side. Instead you invite him to come join you by patting the open real estate next to your left side. “Come here, Tup.”

He rushes over to the bedside and crawls over Kix to get to your side. You open your free arm and let him rest his head on your chest. You can feel a little shake in his body so you rub his back and place your head atop his. “Shhh. It’s alright,” You soothe. “I’ve got you. Your brothers are right here with you.” You feel the force settle around him and his breathing becomes soft.

“I wish I had a mother,” Tup admits into your chest.

You're surprised by the statement, but it’s not a completely unfounded thought. The clones are test-tube babies. Copies from an original source, with no mothers to speak of. Perhaps that is why they feel safe with you. Perhaps, because you are a woman, they feel a certain level of maternal attachment to you. That’s why they feel safe. That’s why they want to sleep here with you. That’s why they relax in your presence and melt under your touch. They just want a mother.

“What’s it like having a mother?” Tup asks out of curiosity.

“I don’t really remember mine to be honest,” You answer. “I was taken from her at a young age to be trained as a Jedi.”

“Oh,” Tup answers sadly.

“But,” You continue. “I do remember that she was warm and kind. She had a good heart and would sing me lullabies to go to sleep.”

“Lullabies?” Tup wonders at the strange word.

“Yes,” You explain in a hushed tone. “Mothers sing them to their children to help them go to sleep.”

“Would you sing us a lullaby?” Tup asks as he nuzzles further into you.

You’re shocked at the question. No one has ever asked you to sing, let alone sing a lullaby. “Well, I don’t know...” You hesitate.

You feel Echo tug gently at your hem and whispers, “Please?”

There were several more ‘pleases’ and ‘mhms’ coming from the lumps on your bed. You look around at the seven sleepy clones and wonder how you got yourself into this predicament. But, their innocence captures your heart and you feel a tender fondness for their simple request. How hard could it be to sing them a lullaby? You close your eyes and think back to when you were still with your mother and try to remember the words and the tune she sang to you.

Lay down your head and I'll sing you a lullaby

Back to the years of loo-li lai-lay

And I'll sing you to sleep and I'll sing you tomorrow

Bless you with love for the road that you go

May you sail far to the far fields of fortune

With diamonds and pearls at your head and your feet

And may you need never to banish misfortune

May you find kindness in all that you meet

May there always be angels to watch over you

To guide you each step of the way

To guard you and keep you safe from all harm

Loo-li, loo-li, lai-lay

May you bring love and may you bring happiness

Be loved in return to the end of your days

Now fall off to sleep, I'm not meaning to keep you

I'll just sit for a while and sing loo-li, lai-lay

May there always be angels to watch over you

To guide you each step of the way

To guard you and keep you safe from all harm

Loo-li, loo-li, lai-lay

Loo-li, loo-li, lai-lay

Loo-li, loo-li, lai-lay

Loo-li, loo-li, lai-lay

Loo-li, loo-li, lai-lay

Loo-li, loo-li, lai-lay

You finish the lullaby as tears form in the corner of your eyes. The words of the song unlocked the sweet memories of your mother from so long ago. She was a strong and loving woman, and even though you don’t remember her face, you could feel her embrace you through the force as the lyrics of her soothing lullaby escaped your lips. Such a soft and simple song, but so full of love, care, and comfort.

You look around lovingly at the clones sleeping softly in your bed and smile. Your heart is full. They’re all sleeping peacefully, probably for the first time in a long while. But your happy thoughts are pierced with poison as you remember why they exist. The bloody war. The war that no one asked for. The war they lay their lives down for. Not all of them may come back, but for now, yes, for now they are safe here with you.

You look up as you sense the final presence you knew would show up eventually. “Captain,” You whisper, trying not to wake the clones. Rex came into the bedroom while you were singing the lullaby and leaned against the wall while he waited for you to finish.

“I was wondering where my men went,” Rex chuckles while looking at his sleeping soldiers spread out across your bed.

“They needed a little mothering tonight,” You say as you leave a gentle kiss on Echo’s head.

Rex smiles, “I can see that.”

“Will you join them?” You ask. “There’s room for one more.”

Without much convincing, Rex pushes himself off the wall and crawls onto the foot of the bed. He lays sideways at the edge, positioning himself to guard over his men. Rex is a great leader and a great Captain. He cares deeply for each of his men and puts their safety above his own. It’s just like him to take the most vulnerable and uncomfortable position so his men can relax and feel covered under his dutiful watch. You smile fondly at their brotherly bond.

You let out a small sigh and lean over to the left to leave a small kiss on Tup’s head. You would kiss them all goodnight, but the rest are too far out of your reach. “Codladh sámh, my little ones,” You whisper while leaning your head back against the pillow to finally let yourself fall asleep. “Dream of a life far away from this one.”

bitch, i’m raising my hand, my feet and my four lightsabers. I haven’t been so stressed out since my first finals in uni. Which is when I started reading the Desert Storm. I now start to think, maybe it was connected somehow...

If you too have been personally victimized by the recent chapters of @blue-sunshine-mauve-morning’s Desert Storm series, raise your hand 😭

Guys. I was going back and reading my first fic (not Star Wars related at all) and I have:

A brother of a six man found family sacrifices himself by falling from a vehicle to his presumed death. The leader of the group then has to tell the blonde smallest member of the group, and I QUOTE, "*name*, *other name* didn't make it." And all of this happened in an attempt to save another brother.

I keep somehow predicting the Bad Batch BEFORE I EVEN LIKED CLONES.

So if Tech comes back with a missing arm and PTSD, I officially am a witch and likely should be burned.

I need some happy angst in my life right now so here’s Fives living and getting to find Echo.

Once again, posting things from my fic that I think appeal to a wider audience. Ever since I saw Echo was alive, I knew I needed Fives to have been there. It was a pleasure writing this version.

Again, sorry my usual followers, this is stuff in the fics.

Today’s Sample: Fives learns what Rex discovers and comes along on the mission to rescue Echo.

The context: Fives lives and Ahsoka stays with the 501st. Also Ahsoka has super charged Force powers that cripple her if she uses them too much. She leads the mission to go get Echo. Also Fives and Crosshair one hundred percent got into a fight. (oh and Tup lives too)

Anyway, I hope you enjoy!

General Skywalker was serious as they explained what had happened.

“I’ll talk to the Council.” He said. “But we will be getting permission.”

Rex knew that meant they were going whether or not they got actual permission. For once, the General was acting as his old self again.

“Go and talk to Fives.” He said. “He’ll want to know.”

“Thank you, sir.” Rex said.

General Skywalker patted Rex on the shoulder.

“I’ll let you know when we can leave.” He said. “And I’ll see if that Bad Batch can give us a hand.”

Rex and Ahsoka turned to leave before the General spoke again.

“Oh, and Rex?” He said. “I’ll need your- help later, okay?”

Rex repressed a sigh.

“Yes, sir.” He said.

“You’re only back a few days, and he’s making you stand watch during his little meetings with Padme?” Ahsoka asked once they were on the way to the barracks, shaking her head.

“It’s all right most of the time.” Rex said. “Just as long as General Kenobi’s not around.”

Fives was waiting at the entrance of the barracks for them.

“Rex, Ahsoka.” He said as they approached. “Tup said you had something important to talk to me about?”

“Yes.” Rex said.

“We’ll go to my quarters to talk about it.” Ahsoka said.

Fives’ frown deepened, but he followed them to the small room Ahsoka stayed in.

“Take a seat.” Ahsoka said to Fives, gesturing to her cot.

Fives did so, looking between them.

“Whatever it is, I didn’t do it, okay?” He said.

It was a weak attempt to diffuse the tension, Rex knew, and Fives’ grin slipped away as Ahsoka and Rex continued to look grim.

Rex gave the outline of the mission: that they suspected an algorithm that could predict Rex’s plans.

“We found a live signal at the Separatist Cyber Center. From a being on Skako Minor.” Rex said. “When we asked who it was-”

Rex took a deep breath. He hoped he wasn’t wrong in opening this wound.

“It said it was CT-1409.”

Fives’ eyes widened, his nostrils flared, and he stood immediately.

“When do we leave?” He demanded.

Rex and Ahsoka shared a look.

“Fives, we are going, and soon, but you have to consider that this may be a trap.” Ahsoka said.

“Of course it’s a trap!” Fives said. “They’re using our dead brother to try and lure us in! They have to pay for it!”

“Fives,” Rex said, unsure on how to respond to Fives’ reaction. “Echo could be alive.”

“He’s not.” Fives’ voice had dropped to a low growl. “He’s not. It’s a trick and they have to pay.” “Fives-”

Fives whirled on them, eyes wild.

“Don’t you think I would know if my brother was alive?” He yelled. “I saw him die! I felt it! Echo is dead!”

He stared at them, daring them to say differently. Tears were leaking down his face, unnoticed.

“Just-just let me know when we leave.” He said.

He pushed past them and out the door.

“Ahsoka.” Rex said. “Can you- can you maybe feel Echo?”

Ahsoka shook her head.

“But that doesn’t mean he’s for sure dead.” She said. “I couldn’t really feel Master Obi Wan when he was pretending to be that bounty hunter, and sometimes a person can change so much that you can’t recognize them in the Force.”

“I have to believe he’s alive.” Rex said quietly. “It has to be him.”

"But if it's not?" Ahsoka asked.

"Then I say his name in remembrances again." Rex said. "And move on, like with every fallen brother."

It was a lie. If it was not Echo, Rex did not know if he could move on this time.

Fives shot again and again into the crowd of clankers. His face still throbbed from where Crosshair had landed his only decent punch from their fight earlier. Fives liked to think that the sniper had come off worse for wear from their scuffle. The idiot shouldn't have brought up leaving Echo behind.

That was why this couldn't be Echo. It was a trap, through and through. Because if Echo was alive, that meant Fives had left his injured brother behind, left him for dead. Fives could have never done that. So Echo wasn't alive. It was just a fact.

Ahsoka led the group through the Techno Union's base. Rex was at Fives' side. The Captain had been high strung and moody this whole mission. He'd nearly attacked Crosshair too and would have if Ahsoka hadn't stopped him.

Fives vaguely wondered how he'd been acting, if Rex was this bad.

Fives was forced to admit, the Bad Batch was good. He wouldn't choose to take any of them on missions, as they were all pretentious shebs'e. Except the big one. Wrecker was all right, and was worth a squad of his own.

He’s a bit like Hardcase Fives thought as he yanked a droid's head from its body and chucked it at another oncoming clanker. He never thought this much during missions. He had a laser focus, only deviating for a well timed joke.

"The signal is coming from in there." Tech said, pointing to a door.

He had been calling it Echo's signal until Fives had threatened to shove his datapad up his unmentionables. It wasn't Echo's signal. It was a trick.

"Open the door!" Rex ordered.

An ugly, amphibian like mug appeared on a screen next to the door.

Fives tuned out most of what Wat Tambor had to say and shot more clankers.

"Your friend is dead." Fives managed to catch Wat Tambor's words over the blaster fire.

He knew it.

"Liar!" Rex snarled.

Fives wanted to scream at Rex. He didn't know how the Captain would react to finding out that Tambor was telling the truth. Rex needed to let the delusion go.

"Fives!"

Fives looked back to see an open door. Rex was beckoning to him.

"You're with us!" He said.

Fives ducked in with Tech and Rex. Hunter looked back at them.

"I hope you find what you're looking for." He said.

The door closed behind them. They were in a dimly lit chamber with several control desks. The focus of the room seemed to be a strange- Fives couldn't think of any other word than casket.

"I don't like the look of this." Tech said as they moved slowly into the room.

He tapped at his datapad.

"I'm definitely picking up a lifeform in there."

"Signals can be faked." Fives said.

No one responded. Rex was staring at the casket.

"I think I can get it open." Tech said.

He worked at the controls. Fives stood next to Rex, ready to pull him away from whatever trap was contained in the casket.

The casket opened.

A body fell forward, hanging from a jungle of cords and wires.

For a horrifying moment Fives thought it was a corpse. Then he saw the flickering of the eyes.

It was alive.

Echo was alive.

Fives moved faster than Rex, ripping his helmet off and climbing up to where Echo was attached. An anguished noise he couldn't remember making echoed around the chamber. He pulled Echo down into his arms.

"Echo!" Fives said.

Echo made no movement. His skin was freezing, even through Fives' armor and blacks. Fives clutched him harder into his chest.

"Ey'ika, wake up." He said.

Hot tears were dripping off his nose onto Echo's back, melting the frost.

"Ey'ika, please." He begged. "We're here, we're here. You can wake up now."

He was openly crying now. He was vaguely aware of Rex giving Tech instructions, but he didn't care what the others did. Echo had to wake up.

Then Echo began to speak.

"We-we have to get to the shuttle-" Echo mumbled. "To escape the Citadel."

Fives' already cracked heart broke into two.

"No! I'll go first."

"No, Echo." Fives said in a rush, rocking Echo back and forth. "No, you're not there."

"No, no!" Echo struggled weakly against Fives' grip.

"You're with me. It's Fives. I'm here." Fives babbled.

"No!" Echo pushed against Fives one last time before falling back. "Fives?"

His eyes finally focused on Fives' face.

"You- you came back for me." He said.

A fresh wave of tears overcame Fives. He pressed their foreheads together.

"I'm sorry." Fives choked out. "I'm sorry."

Echo shifted against Fives' grip.

"Rex?" He asked.

Rex knelt next to them.

"Yeah, it's me." He said softly.

"What- what happened?" Echo asked. He pulled weakly away from Fives and looked around. "Where am I?"

"It's okay, Echo." Rex said. "You're safe now."

Fives wondered how Rex was staying so calm. How could he reassure Echo that it was okay? It wasn't okay. Didn't he see what they had done to Echo? And they were the ones who left him.

"Just sit tight trooper." Rex said. "You're going home."

He beckoned and suddenly Tech was with them. Fives instinctively wrapped his arms tighter around Echo.

"Fives." Rex said. "We gotta make sure he's okay."

Fives swallowed. He felt if he let go of Echo, then his brother would suddenly disappear and Fives would find that it was a dream. He released Echo and gently positioned himself so that Tech could get a look, but kept one arm around Echo's shoulders.

Tech was surprisingly gentle as he checked Echo over. Even still, every so often Echo would shudder or flinch.

Fives took in Echo’s condition as Tech worked. Echo was so, so thin. He was ghostly pale and his now faded eyes were too large in his face. But the worst thing was what they had added. Metal studded the skin of his back, his stomach, his chest, his head. Wires were screwed into his left arm, and his right- Fives swallowed bile as he looked at the inhuman scomp they had replaced his right hand with. As far as Fives could tell, Echo’s legs were also mechanical. For a second, Fives was overwhelmed with how little of his brother was left.

"Unfortunately there isn't much I can tell without a good scanner." Tech said after a moment. "As I suspected, most of the useful information will come from the data here."

He stood and handed Fives a canteen.

"He is dehydrated." Tech said. "Make sure he drinks."

Then he turned back to the controls and started tapping away.

Fives unscrewed the canteen and held it to Echo's lips. Echo grimaced and turned his head away.

"Come on, Ey'ika." Fives encouraged. "Just a little."

Echo opened his mouth and Fives poured a little of the water in, careful not to make his brother choke.

Echo drank slowly at first, and then hungrily. Both his hand and his robotic attachment came up to steady the canteen as he gulped.

"Slow down." Fives said.

Echo's eyes widened and he pushed away at the canteen. He only moved it a little bit, but it was enough space for him to hunch over and vomit the water over his and Fives' laps. It hadn't had time to warm in Echo's stomach and the cool, yellowish liquid soaked into Fives' blacks.

"S-sorry." Echo mumbled, attempting to wipe at his mouth.

"It's okay." Fives soothed.

Echo stared at the canteen. His throat bobbed up and down as he swallowed, his thirst evident.

"Hey Tech!" Fives said. "He threw up the water."

Tech glanced at them.

"His stomach's size has been reduced considerably." He said. "Only let him take sips every few minutes."

"You hear that, Echo?" Rex asked.

Echo nodded.

"Do you remember how you got here, Echo?" Rex asked after Echo had had a few sips.

Fives shot Rex a glare. Echo didn't need to be interrogated right now.

"No." Echo said softly. "I-I just remember trying- trying to get to the shuttle and then- and then-"

He clutched at his head with his hand. He was trembling under Fives' arm.

"That's all right, trooper." Rex said. "Just relax. Do you think you can stand?"

Echo put his hand on Fives' shoulder, pressing down. He managed to get to his feet, but he swayed. He took a step but immediately lost balance. Fives caught him and helped him back down.

"It'll be fine." Fives said. "I'll carry him."

Rex nodded. He placed his hand on Echo's shoulder again for a moment before standing and taking a defensive position near the front of the room.

It wasn't long before Ahsoka came into the room.

“Things are almost under control out there.” She said. "How's it going in here?"

"I'm still trying to decrypt Echo's cerebral interface." Tech said promptly. "Until I do, we cannot disconnect him from this computer system."

She came forward and knelt in front of Echo. “Echo.” She called softly.

Echo, who had retreated into his own mind, started and looked up.

“Com-commander?” He stuttered. “What-what happened to you?”

Ahsoka gave a small laugh. Fives’ own smile disappeared when he saw the look on Echo’s face.

“How long have I been here?” Echo whispered.

“We can talk about that later.” Ahsoka said. “How do you feel?”

“I-” Echo swallowed. “I’ve been better, sir.”

Ahsoka glanced at Rex and Fives.

“He’s too weak to walk.” Rex supplied. “He’s very disoriented. Can’t remember how he got here.”

Ahsoka nodded.

“Have you called in the extraction squad?”

“I tried.” Rex said. “Signals are-patchy here. I don’t think I got through.”

Ahsoka grimaced.

“Well, we’ve been in worse binds.”

The rest of the Batch had come into the room.

Fives ignored their reports and turned back to Echo. His brother was shivering and damp from the melting frost. All Fives could do was hold his brother close.

Echo seemed to fade in and out of reality. Occasionally he would jerk and whisper his number again.

"I've got it!" Tech declared. "We can unplug him now."

Rex approached and Fives helped Echo turn around. Fives held him steady as Rex ripped the connections out. Echo jerked and gasped after each one. The last one sent him sprawling onto Fives' shoulder, coughing. He lay still for a second.

"Echo?" Fives asked.

He pushed Echo off of him and held him at arm's length. To his surprise, Echo was sitting upright by himself. When he looked into Fives' eyes, there was a light that wasn't there before. A smile touched his lips.

"I got a big headache." He declared.

Fives gave a laugh that verged on a sob. Echo was free.

Fives helped Echo up the Marauder's ramp, despite his brother's protests.

"I can walk, Fives."

"Just because you can, doesn't mean you should." Fives replied.

Echo's snort of laughter made Fives' heart swell.

Behind them Rex carried Ahsoka. Saving all of their shebs'e had put her firmly out of commission.

Fives figured that spewing forth masses of lightning would take it out of anyone.

The battle alongside the Poletec had been going badly. Fives had had the traitorous thought of wishing they had a Jedi with real lightsabers. Ahsoka's electrostaffs had been useless against the tri-droids. Hunter and Rex had been making some progress on them, courtesy of Wrecker chucking them on top of the droids.

Then one had made the mistake of turning its sights on Crosshair and Echo.

Fives had shouted, but Ahsoka had acted. Fives could still see in his mind her flinging her hands forward in a desperate attempt to stop the tri-droid from firing. Instead of an invisible push, a barrage of green bolts of electricity had sprung from her fingers. It had overwhelmed the tri-droid and it toppled over into its fellow, bringing them both down.

After they'd taken out the rest of the droids, they'd found Ahsoka unable to move, but able to curse loudly. Rex had carried her the entire way back.

Fives had been impressed, but Ahsoka seemed somewhat upset about it. General Skywalker had told stories about Dooku's ability to use lightning. Allegedly it was something only Sith could do.

Fives figured there was a first time for everything. Ahsoka was the furthest thing from a Sith one could get, at least according to Fives' limited understanding.

Echo stumbled and Fives quickly steadied him.

"You okay?" He asked.

"Yeah." Echo said. "Just a little tired."

"I suspect you are feeling more than 'a little tired.' Tech said. "The adrenaline that has kept you functioning the last several hours should be wearing off."

Fives had Echo sit on one of the Marauder's seats. Looking into his brother's eyes, Fives guessed Tech was right. Echo's eyelids were drooping.

On the other side of the ship, Rex was lifting Ahsoka onto one of the sleeping racks.

"Does this happen to you a lot?" Wrecker asked Ahsoka. "Cause this is the second time-"

Rex shot Wrecker a look, but Ahsoka laughed.

"It's a recent development." She said. "Doesn't happen as often as it used to though."

"Here." Fives looked up to see Hunter holding out a set of blacks and a blanket.

"Thanks." Fives said, accepting them.

He nudged Echo, who'd been staring into space.

"Tech says he shouldn't eat anything right now." Hunter went on as Fives began helping Echo get the blacks on. "But he's getting nutrition and saline shots ready."

Fives nodded his thanks. Echo kept zoning out, making dressing him a little difficult. Finally Fives got Echo settled with the blanket wrapped tightly around him. Fives removed his own upper armor and put an arm around Echo. For the first time since they'd freed him from that casket, Echo stopped shivering.

It wasn't until the Marauder had taken off that Tech came by with several hypos.

"Echo." Fives said softly.

Echo blinked at Fives and then saw the needles. His eyes widened.

"No-" He croaked and jerked away from Tech. "No more, get away from me-"

"Echo!" Fives held his brother firm. "Echo, you're safe. These are going to help you."

Echo shook his head.

"No more." He said again. "No more."

"You will have to hold him." Tech said. "I will administer a sedative first."

"I'm not gonna hold him down!" Fives said. "Not like they did!"

Tech pushed at his goggles and frowned.

"Echo." Ahsoka said. "Be calm."

Fives could feel the power in her words. Echo stopped struggling. He meekly allowed Tech to roll up his sleeve and give him the first shot, though he was trembling. He flinched hard as the needle pierced his skin. Fives let out a breath as Echo's head fell onto his shoulder.

"Excellent." Tech said.

He administered the other two shots. Fives tucked his brother in closer and settled down.

The Batch migrated to the cockpit. Fives suspected they were uncomfortable with their ship so overtaken by strangers. There were a few minutes of indistinct conversation before the only sound on the ship was the hum of the engines.

Fives looked down at Echo. The shadows under his eyes were so dark. Fives wondered why. Wasn’t stasis like sleeping? He’d have to ask Kix when they returned. Maybe they just looked dark because of Echo’s ghostly skin.

Clones didn't have much to lose in terms of body weight. They were slim, efficient machines. But Echo was skeletal. His bony shoulder dug painfully into Fives' side.

Fives suddenly became terrified for Echo. Did he meet the standards anymore? Could he do what was required of him as a soldier?

That thought made Fives even more sick to his stomach. Echo, if he wanted to live, had to become a soldier again. Looking down at him, Fives thought that he'd never seen anyone who looked less ready to go to war. Fives didn't want him to, either. He wanted Echo to have the chance to forget about what he'd been through. The war would make that impossible.

Echo twitched in his sleep and let out a soft groan. Fives didn't want to imagine what horrors lurked behind Echo's eyelids.

"You're safe, Echo." Fives muttered. "I'm here."

Echo stilled again. Fives mentally prepared himself for a long trip. Echo would need him and Fives would be there. It wouldn't make up for the years he'd left Echo alone, but he would be there.

He would not sleep. Not when there was the chance of waking and finding that Echo’s return was a dream.

Mando’a:

shebs’e: asses

Ey’ika: Little Eyayah, Fives’ special nickname for Echo

Eyayah: Echo

And then later they fight about Echo going with the Bad Batch and it’s the last conversation they have before Fives takes a blaster bolt for Ahsoka after Rex’s chip activates. And then Fives nearly dies because they don’t have enough bacta. But then he recovers and bullies his way into the Bad Batch. And somehow I torture him less than in my other fic.

I Have Exciting News I Choose To Share Through Memes!!!

I have exciting news I choose to share through memes!!!

GUILTY HAS OFFICIALLY REACHED OVER ONE THOUSAND KUDOS!!!

I cannot believe how much attention it’s gotten, even within the relatively small Rexsoka reader base. I owe it all to you guys!!! (I know only a few of you are on tumblr lol. Maybe I’ll do an update on the fic itself)

Thank you all so much! I’ll try to figure out a way to celebrate soon, but school might get in the way.

(I just think it’s funny that my fic is so popular and they haven’t even kissed yet. Like it’s literally 125,000 words of me teasing you guys and apparently you love it.)

Also...soon.

What if Anakin was a Twin?

Remember the arc in “The Clone Wars” where Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Ashoka meet the Father, Sister, and Brother? What if Anakin had a sister to replicate the Brother and Sister, and together they would bring balance.

She would be older by a minute or two and be a lot more apprehensive when meeting Qui-Gon in the “Phantom Menace”. (She had dreamt about them taking Anakin away.) She would go with Anakin to Coruscant to be trained to be a Jedi, Anakin would be Obi-Wan’s padawan and she would be Qui-Gon’s. But after Qui-Gon dies she would be assigned to someone else, or maybe she wouldn’t have a consistent master but go on missions with other Jedi.

In “Attack of the Clones” she would go with Obi-Wan to Kamino, while Anakin went with Padme and they would finally reunite on Geonosis.  Somehow she would find out about Anakin and Padme.

She would be a general in the war and would fight with Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Ashoka in different battles. (She would be like a big sister to all of her clones.) And when the council heard a distress signal that hadn’t been used in over 2,000 years, they send the four of them.

That’s where Anakin and his sister discover that they are the ones that will bring balance to the force. They are mirrors of one another, and the farther to the dark one of them falls, the other goes the other way. So if say, hypothetically, Anakin was to fall, she would become stronger in the light side of the force and vice versa.

This is ultimately one of the things that prevent Anakin from falling, she can sense him slipping. And at the end of the war makes the case to the council that Anakin’s relationships with those around him kept both of them from falling and eventually led to them k-wording Palps and bringing balance to the force. So the Council would be like “yeah I guess maybe we won’t ban people from certain attachments, but we’ll teach that being fearful of losing those we love can cause someone to slip.” Just in time for Padme to give birth to twins.

And what if, hypothetically, I had a fanfic in the works based on this exact idea...

Order 66 ended Squad 99...

image
image

After counting the board there are 55 tally marks:successful missions.  Add 11 more and that is a total of 66 tallies...

image

When the Batch return to their sunken barracks on Kamino for whatever reason there are still only 55 tallies.  We clearly witnessed Wrecker marking the last 11 in the first episode BUT WHATEVER.

image

That last mission together is where everything fell apart.  The Jedi Order, the GAR, and The Bad Batch.  Order 66 ended the Jedi Order, as it ended Clone Force 99.

@vodika-vibes This is fluffily beautiful!!! Thank you for writing my request! ❤️❤️ The actual inspiration was my brother back when we were teens. Used to piss my dad off that he couldn’t communicate right away. Their solution was The Head Pat. 💖

Hi Vod’ika! I enjoy your stories so much! May I make a request? Prompt category Physical Gestures. Perky morning person (F) a little insecure. Chronically sleep-deprived clone BF can’t talk to her until he’s had morning caf and some time. Compromise is a pat on the head (or similar) as he walks by to acknowledge her presence without engaging until he’s awake. Perhaps Hunter, Rex, Fox or Wolffe. Thank you for considering. 😊

Morning Person

Summary: Fox loves his girlfriend. From the top of her head to the tips of her toes. He even loves how bright and bubbly she is first thing in the morning. It’s not her fault he cannot function without a cup of caf first thing in the morning.

Pairing: Commander Fox x F!Reader

Word Count: 1031

Warnings: Reader is described as having long hair that "tumbles down her back" and she can wear it in a bun on the top of her head.

A/N: Hihi! You sent this in and I immediately knew what I wanted to write! But then it turned into something soft and fluffy at the end, lol. Thanks for your request~

Hi Vod’ika! I Enjoy Your Stories So Much! May I Make A Request? Prompt Category Physical Gestures.

Fox hates mornings.

In his, professional, opinion. Any time before 10 should be illegal, and he shouldn’t be forced to work before noon.

Tragically, the galaxy very rarely cares about what he wants, so here he is. Awake and sort of aware at 7 am.

The bed next to him is still a little warm, but that tracks. His perfect cyare wakes up at 6:30 every morning, even on days when she doesn’t have to work. Distantly, he can hear her moving around the kitchen, and soon enough the familiar scent of breakfast sausage cooking wafts into the bedroom.

Fuck, he loves her.

Groggily, he rolls off the bed, and stumbles into the fresher to shower for the day. It doesn’t help wake him up, but it needs to happen, and if he doesn’t do it now, it won’t get done.

One quick shower later, Fox meanders his way through the apartment he shares with his cyare and into the kitchen. There, standing at the stove with a spatula in her hand, is his cyare.

Her hair is pulled into a knot at the top of her head, and she’s clad in one of his shirts and her frog covered sleep pants. She’s adorable. And she notices him as soon as he steps into the room.

“Morning Fox~” She chirps, “Did you sleep well?”

Fox grunts an affirmative noise and walks over to her. Normally, he would pat her head and kiss her forehead as a way to acknowledge her in the morning, but her hairstyle forbids it this morning.

So, instead, he kisses her temple and rubs his thumb down the back of her neck, before he steps around her to grab the, already prepared, cup of caf.

His poor cyare is a little insecure about her place in his life, even now, and so does everything in her power to be useful to him. This means, in this case, that she makes him breakfast every morning and preps his caf the way that he likes before he wakes up.

He, personally, thinks it’s ridiculous. Why would he want to look at another woman when he has her, after all? But she’s allowed her insecurities. It’s his job to make sure that they don’t overwhelm her.

When they first moved in together, she took his silence in the morning as an indication that he wasn’t happy with her. Though she never mentioned her thoughts to him, she just allowed the belief to work her into an anxious frenzy, until she broke down sobbing one morning asking him if he didn’t love her anymore.

That had been a mess and a half to clean up and untangle.

Together, they worked out that so long as he acknowledges her in the morning, even if it’s something as simple as a touch and a kiss, it keeps her from overthinking everything.

He settles on one of the kitchen chairs, silently nursing his caf, as he watches her make breakfast for them. She’s humming along with the radio, and a small smile lifts his lips.

Her hair is a mess, she’s not wearing any make-up. Her clothes are wrinkled and worn, or very childish in the case of her pants. She would be the first one to say that this is when she looks her worst.

She’s wrong.

Right here, first thing in the morning, when it’s just him and her and no one else, she’s never more beautiful. He really is a lucky asshole.

He watches her plate breakfast, sausage, toast, fresh fruit, and some juice, then she sets a plate in front of him, before sitting in the chair next to him.

That’s about the time she realizes that he’s staring at her.

“What?”

Fox absently pushes his mug to the side, and reaches out for her, his hand settling on her cheek as he coaxes her closer to him so he’s able to press kisses across her face. His free hand reaches up to tug the rubber band out of her hand, allowing her long hair to fall around her shoulders and down her back.

A giggle falls from her as he pushes her hair out of her face, so he can continue kissing her, “Fox! Our breakfast will get cold!”

“It’ll keep,” He mumbles against her jaw, “Love you.”

One of her hands tangles in his curls, while the other curls around his bicep. “Silly man, what’s gotten into you?”

Fox just hums and continues pressing feather-light kisses across her face, until he finally catches her lips with his own in a series of light kisses. Then he decides that she’s not nearly close enough, and he swiftly tugs her from her chair until she’s sitting on his lap.

Still not close enough, but it’ll do for now.

A sigh falls from her, soft and love-sick, and Fox grins against her lips before pulling away and pressing his forehead against hers.

She has a dreamy look on her face and a goofy smile on her lips, “Goodness,” She murmurs, her fingers falling from his curls to rest against his stubble-covered cheek, “Have I just been depriving you, Fox?”

“Went all night without kissing you,” Fox replies, suddenly very, very awake, “Had to make up for lost time.”

“Ah, so you’re not deprived. You’re spoiled.” Her voice is teasing and her eyes are soft. Her fingers trail against his jaw, and she huffs out a sigh, “You forgot to shave.”

“Didn’t forget. Didn’t feel like it. Too much effort.”

She shakes her head, “After breakfast, I’ll get the stuff and do it for you. I know how much you hate the feel of your stubble in your helmet.”

Fox feels his heart lurch in his chest. She really is perfect. And so, he pulls her into another kiss, though this time he doesn’t keep it chaste. If she’s not giggling like a schoolgirl when he finishes, then he’s not kissing her thoroughly enough.

The rest of the galaxy can take a hike. This, right now, is more important. And, just before he gets too lost in her lips, he can’t help but think that, just maybe, mornings aren’t that bad.

212TH ONE-SHOT

@metalhusbands :one of the clones gets stuck in a vent - chaos insues

As you wish!!!!

(got the idea from @212th-chaos and @obiwanshusband tooka chaos)

---------

"What do you mean it's IN the vent?!?!" Cody practically yelled, throwing his arms up in exaggeration.

Waxer bowed his head, hiding his hands behind his back. "I didn't realize the vent cover was off so it sprinted towards it, I tried to grab it and it bit me and disappeared…"

Cody pinched the bridge of his nose as he let out a drawn-out sigh. "There's a tooka loose in the ven- wait did you say it bit you?"

Waxer shrugged, still hiding his hands. "It's not that bad, sir."

Cody gave him an unbelieving glare. "Nice try. Med bay. Now," He pointed down the hall. "I'll go find someone to help find the damned thing."

Waxer nodded, heading towards the medbay as Cody started towards the barracks.

As the Commander got closer, he could hear laughing and yelling coming from beyond the door to the barracks. He wasn't sure what he expected to see beyond the door but he definitely didn't expect what he did find.

"Commander!" Boil shot up from where he was crouched on the floor. Next to him, someone was sticking halfway out of a vent, their waist up hidden inside. Boil looked from Cody to whoever was in the vent, back to Cody.

Cody crossed his arms, trying his best to refrain from laughing. "What the hell happened?"

Around Boil, other troopers were failing to control their laughter. "Well, sir," Boil started, barely containing his own laughter, "Waxer lost a tooka in the vent and Wooley saw it and tried to grab it and well…" he motioned to the pair of legs, "he got stuck."

Cody couldn't stop the amused chuckle as Wooley started to kicked his legs.

"Will you stop karking laughing and get me the kriff out?!?" Wooley's muffled yell only caused the boys to keel over laughing once more.

"I'm assuming pulling him out didn't work, then?" Cody asked, leaning against the door frame.

"We tried," Longshot piped up. "But his squeaking as we tried to pull him out-" he fell into a fit of giggles.

"So what you're saying is you bunch of di'kuts were all laughing too hard to pull him out?" Cody asked, his amused smirk never leaving his face.

"No, yeah. That about sums it up sir," Trapper put in between wheeze.

Cody was more laughing at his troopers trying their best to say things in a professional manner all while doubled over wheezing than Wooley screaming profanities through the vent.

"So," Cody made his way over, lightly kicking Wooley's leg. "How bout you lot get him out of the vent so we can find the missing tooka before it bites someone else?"

"I like that plan!" Wooley called out, kicking his legs again, accidentally hitting Cody in the process.

Unfortunately for Wooley, that just sent them all laughing again. Crys, who hadn't said a word since Cody arrived, was now struggling to breath, curled into a ball on the floor.

"What the kriff did I miss?"

Cody turned to see Waxer now standing in the open doorway, a bandage wrapped neatly around his hand.

Cody leaned his back against the wall, sparing a glance at Wooley. "Seems your tooka caused a bit of chaos in your absence."

Waxer chuckled to himself before walking over to Wooley, grabbing his leg and yanking hard. Wooley slid free from the vent and Waxer landed on his ass, wincing as his bandaged hand hit the floor.

Wooley rolled onto his back, staring at the ceiling before getting up and launching himself at Boil who practically screamed. Wooley wrestled his vod to the floor. "This is for not getting me out, you karking di'kut!" He yelled as he put Boil in a headlock.

No one came to Boil's rescue and he squirmed to attempt to free himself.

Cody didn't move from his spot against the wall, content to watch the chaos unfold.

Wooley released Boil and latched himself to Longshot who started screaming at Crys to help him. Crys was of no help, still fighting to catch his breath.

Waxer stood up, stopping beside his Commander and his vode rolled around on the floor. "Should we-?"

"Nah," Cody interrupted. "They'll figure it out,"

Cody's attention was quickly drawn back to the vent as a soft meow was heard. Beside his foot the tabby tooka, also watching the chaos it had unknowingly caused.

"There's the little shit!" Wooley's voice called out.

"GET IT!"

You Are My Brother - Revenge of the Sith Alternative Ending Fanfic (Obi Wan and Anakin)

You Are My Brother - Revenge Of The Sith Alternative Ending Fanfic (Obi Wan And Anakin)

I wrote this on a whim, based off of the head canon where Obi Wan spared Anakin’s life instead of killing him. This is purely fanfiction and a completely different approach to the fight on Mustafar, so I hope you guys enjoy it! I was actually surprised by the amount of people that wanted me to post this. I hope it’s what you all had in mind :)

Warnings: Angst

Words: 1.8k

Plot: Anakin still has the choice to come back to the Light. With the help of Qui Gon Jin, Obi Wan has the strength to talk through with Anakin in hopes to bring him back. I’ll write a part 2 and maybe turn this into a miniseries if people really enjoy it :)

~*~

The loud, bubbling and scorching lava roared around Obi Wan and Anakin Skywalker as they fought on the volcanic land of Mustafar. Master and fallen padawan, the two fought for different sides: Obi Wan, the Jedi; and Anakin, the Sith.

In Obi Wan’s mind, Anakin had fully converted to the Dark Side. But what he had not realized was that Anakin’s transformation was only beginning. He had not seen the breakdown Anakin had upon arriving to Mustafar, the severity of his murderous actions tearing him apart internally.

If Anakin could change back time and revert every murderous dead he had done, he would’ve done it in a heartbeat. But as Anakin fought for his life and for Padme’s, Obi Wan thought he was gone for good.

After a lengthy duel, the two stood still as Obi Wan twirled his saber, gripping it tightly, “I have failed you, Anakin,” he spoke darkly, disheartened by his own words, “I failed you.”

“I should have known the Jedi were plotting to take over,” Anakin began, holding his lightsaber the same. Obi Wan was taken back by his words, “Anakin, Chancellor Palpatine is evil!”

“From my point of view, the Jedi are evil!” Anakin snapped back, glaring at him.

Obi Wan fell silent - the anger in his heart was threatening to boil over, to snap at him that he was truly lost - but the part in his heart that learned to forgive others, to help bring them to light spoke otherwise. In the back of his mind, he called upon his old Master for help. And, even though not even a second had passed, he felt him answer, “He is not lost.”

Obi Wan wavered, loosening his grip just slightly, “I can help you, Anakin. Prove to you that Palpatine truly is just using you!”

“A true Jedi would’ve struck his saber at me,” Anakin ignored his comment, “in an act of justice. So why haven’t you?”

“Because Qui Gon wouldn’t’ve,” Obi Wan replied simply. “Qui Gon believed in you and he knew that there was not a shred of darkness in you. You were led astray, Anakin. Let me save you. What did Palpatine promise that the Jedi could not fulfill?”

Anakin stopped short at the mention of his first Master, the one who did everything to make sure he was trained in the ways of the Jedi. Anakin’s gaze flicked from Obi Wan to behind them, noticing the lava fall growing closer by the second. Anakin turned his saber off, and nodded toward the rocky edge next to them, “As much as I’d hate to cut this short, we’ll both be melted if we don’t jump now.”

Obi Wan smiled very faintly at the out of place humor from Anakin, a small ray of hope that his brother was still in there.

He, too, shut his saber off and jumped with Anakin to the volcanic rocky landing, keeping a close distance from his old padawan just in case.

Anakin remained silent, dealing with such turmoil that he was afraid to answer. “He promised me a power,” he mumbled, “to save lives.”

“Who’s life would need to be saved? Anakin, death is a natural part of life, especially in war which we are still in!” Obi Wan replied, confused.

“Padme,” Anakin said simply, his voice cracked and broken as tears flooded his eyes. Then, it all made sense.

Though Obi Wan wasn’t specifically told by either of them, it made perfect sense now. Padme was pregnant, and she - to his knowledge - was not married. But seeing the hurt in Anakin’s eyes and the pain in his voice, he connected the dots.

Anakin and Padme were together - and she was pregnant with his child. Once again, Obi Wan felt his trust in Anakin shatter more knowing he broke the Jedi code again. But this was Anakin - the moody teenager who never followed rules no matter how dire they may have been. How could he not have known this earlier?

“Padme isn’t going to-“

“I was having dreams. Her screaming, crying for my help in labor,” Anakin started to shake softly, letting small sobs escape, “I can’t... I cant live without her. He promised - he promised...” Anakin looked down, his legs failing him as he had to stand on one knee, “he promised me a power. To save lives. This,” Anakin motioned to Mustafar, “all the bloodshed... all the horrible crimes i’ve committed... are all for her. So she can live to see another day. So that our child can live with both their parents. So that Padme can get the life she deserves.”

Anakin had just revealed his biggest secret, yet he did not care. His mind and heart was being ripped apart from the inside - one side the light, and the other the dark, both vying for his attention and full commitment at once. It was worse than any pain he had felt in a long, long time.

“I love her, Obi Wan. That’s why I’m willing to turn to the Dark to save her life.” Anakin looked down, crying freely now, “I don’t know what to do. I’m so conflicted.” Anakin looked up at him slowly, shaking softly as tears ran down his cheeks, his eyes a dark, dull blue, “Help me, my Master.”

Obi Wan stood looking down at his friend. His fist tightened, clenching his jaw. Could he forgive Anakin for all he did? For destroying the Order, and killing the younglings, and possibly more deaths he wasn’t aware of?

Without even knowing, Obi Wan out-stretched his hand towards Anakin, and he moved back in shock. Anakin looked at his hand as his eyes flickered from the rocky ground to his hand, almost in disbelief.

Obi Wan hadn’t moved his hand. Someone made him. Quickly, he glanced to the right of him and noticed a blue figure watching over them. Qui Gon Jin was watching them, and he nodded lowly, smiling very faintly.

He heard his voice as clearly as he saw Anakin, and he spoke certainly, “There is much conflict, but a strong will for good within him.”

Obi Wan glanced back to Anakin, and when Anakin had turned to the right to see what he was looking at, he saw nothing. Instead, his eyes widened when he felt Obi Wan’s hand on his shoulder.

Anakin looked up at him and he shifted his eyes to the floor in shame, “I don’t know who I am anymore, Master.”

“You are the boy that won the pod race,” Obi spoke softly, crouching down, “You are the boy that Qui Gon trusted more so than he did me.” Anakin’s lip quivered at the mention of him, “I failed both of you.”

“No, Anakin,” Obi Wan rose, “You failed yourself. You still have a choice.”

“But Padme-“

“-is fine,” Obi Wan sighed, “As soon as I found out, I brought her to a hospital to make sure she was in good health. And she is.”

Anakin opened his mouth to speak and Obi San rose his had to silence him, “and before you ask, I cleared her mind right after so the nurse had no recollection that the senator is pregnant.”

Anakin looked down and sighed, “I will never be a Jedi again, Master. I will never be a Sith...” he paused, “I’m no longer welcome within the Force. Where else can I go? I belong nowhere. I might as well die here.”

“Don’t say such things,” Obi Wan snapped, and Anakin looked up at him in confusion. “The Jedi are broken. Right now, no one is welcome as a Jedi until the Counsel can be restored. And clearly, you are not apart of the Dark side, so you are not a Sith. You are Anakin Skywalker. You are to bring balance to the Force.”

“I can’t be the Chosen One,” Anakin hung his head down low, “the Chosen One wouldn’t’ve failed like I have.”

“You’re human, Anakin. You make the choice. I can only hope to persuade your conscious towards the right decision. But as you told me earlier... in your point of view, the Jedi are evil.”

Anakin stayed silent, and after a moment finally spoke, “They are not. I’m the evil one, not them.”

Obi Wan unhooked his lightsaber and set it down at his feet, “Rise, young one.”

Anakin noticed and set his down, too, standing up slowly, not having the courage to look him in the eye.

“You, young Skywalker, are not evil. You are easily influenced. You were influenced by Palpatine. He is the evil one here, not you, Ani.” Obi Wan rest his hands on his shoulders, his lips pursed. “You can still make the choice.”

Anakin looked down and broke again, a loud sob making his body shake softly, “How can I go back to the Light after everything I’ve done?”

“It won’t be easy, Anakin. But I will be right beside you helping you through it, alongside Padme.”

“Are you mad, Master?” Anakin asked weakly, still looking down.

“Thats very vague, Anakin,” he scoffed. “At?”

“The fact I married Padme in secret?”

Obi Wan smirked, “Now, I only knew you got her pregnant. I did not know you were married.”

Anakin’s face paled and he was glad he couldn’t see the nervousness in his eyes. “Look at me.”

Anakin looked up at him very cautiously, “I am not mad. I am disappointed, but not mad. I cant say I’m surprised, either. I had it in the back of my mind that you two would at least try and date, I just hadn’t expected... this.”

Anakin nodded lowly, letting out a heavy sigh, “I can’t live without her, Master. I have no will to live without her. I love her.”

Obi Wan pulled him into a hug unexpectedly. A hug between the pair was rare - especially as they grew older. But both of them knew that they were brothers deep down - and this simple gesture helped seal Anakin’s fate.

He knew his true story lied within the Jedi Order. With Obi Wan, and with Padme. And now, his child.

“You are my brother, Anakin,” Obi Wan closed his eyes as he clung to him, tears falling down his cheeks slowly, “I love you.”

Anakin was stunned. In all the years he had known Obi Wan, he had never, ever said that to him. No matter how much they fought, and how often Anakin disobeyed him, he truly loved him. He had just never said it, and nor had he.

“And I love you, my Master,” Anakin spoke softly, as if he couldn’t believe what he was saying. He hugged him tightly and for once, for that small moment, everything felt okay again.

Anakin was brought back to the light. All because Obi Wan gave him a chance to explain himself. Because of Obi Wan, Darth Vader was killed before he overthrew Anakin’s heart.

Writing some Sith Hunter things. He’s a little crazy but that’s ok !! Insanity gives spice !!

Wrecker is also a Sith, he’s just (surprisingly) not as unhinged.

(Hunter cannot stand the voices, Wrecker has no idea what bro is talking about ???)

In other words, I love this murder duo

Writing Some Sith Hunter Things. He’s A Little Crazy But That’s Ok !! Insanity Gives Spice !!

*if yall are wondering, yes, Hunter and wrecker have been force sensitive since they were cadets in this AU, however, tech isn’t. Crosshair is *slightly* force sensitive, but not nearly as much as the other two.

Also, Wrecker and Hunter believe Omega, Crosshair, and Tech, are all dead. They “watched them die”, and kinda tapped into the dark side subconsciously as a treat (they don’t know they are still alive, they can hardly feel their presence anymore (what the dark side does to a mf))

Echo got separated from all of them(thinks they are all dead), but is trying to locate the “ghost” and “wraith”, two force sensitive beings who have been slaughtering the Empires forces. (Surprise !! Crazy Hunter and Less crazy Wrecker jumpscare !!)

So is Werewolf!Hunter scared or nervous that he might hurt omega?

So Is Werewolf!Hunter Scared Or Nervous That He Might Hurt Omega?

He is a creature born of the Sith, after all.

teehee I’m back to drawing bad batch thingsss— gonna be answering all of your lovely asks in my inbox as soon as I can!! Take this fun sketch of Hunter, and the fear of his more…fluffy, toothy side.

He is definitely afraid of hurting her. Bloodlust is built into the curse, and sometimes, his instincts become difficult to quell. It’s in moments such as these, that he has to take certain measures to ensure he doesn’t do anything he’ll come to regret.

Hi 👋!!! Omg I love your writing and stories ❤️, they always make me smile, and I absolutely loved the Crosshair werewolf au story. I was just wondering if I could request one with Hunter x fem reader and he’s nervous about how she feels about his new appearances, but she still loves him. If you are busy or if you don’t want to write it, you can just discard this request.

Hi! 👋👋👋 Thank you for your sweet words! I did get busy, as you can probably tell, but the thought of this request consumed my every waking moment. @giganonyx I know you'll enjoy this one!

Hunter's Moon (Werewolf! Hunter x GN!Reader)

Notes: Werewolf au, insecure Hunter, established relationship, Dividers by @djarrex.

Warnings: wolf fighting, blood and injuries, a wolf (not Hunter) tries to eat the reader.

Hi 👋!!! Omg I Love Your Writing And Stories ❤️, They Always Make Me Smile, And I Absolutely Loved

"Where's Hunter going?" you asked. You just barely managed to spot the red of his bandana before he disappeared into the woods. The sun had just set, why was he going exploring now?

"He said he had a headache and was going to release some of his pent-up stress. He warned me not to wait up," Tech recited almost boredly.

You were more than slightly miffed that your boyfriend told your brother what he was up to, but not you. You grabbed one of your first aid bags and tossed in a few first aid essentials before marching down the ramp with a singular focus.

"I would not recommend following him!" Tech warned hastily.

"It's too dark out, he needs to come back!" You misinterpreted Tech's warning, and a few moments later you were enveloped on all sides by the trees.

There was a dirt path, covered by more and more grass the farther you went, but by watching Hunter in his element you'd learned enough to tell when his tracks took a sharp turn off the path and into the ever-darkening woods.

"What-?" You shook your head to clear your thoughts and followed his trail.

"Hunter, come back here!" You demanded, shouting into the woods.

As you rounded a large tree trunk, Hunter stood before you. You smacked against his chest and he grasped your arms, shaking you.

"Why didn't you stay on the ship?" He asked. He sounded, nervous, more terrified than angry.

"You're hurt," As if that was an answer to his question. You reached for his forehead, but he jerked away, as if you might burn him.

"I'm fine, I deal with this all the time."

"Then let me help you-" You reached into the bag for painkillers and bacta.

"You can't help me!" He screamed. His grip on your arms were starting to bruise.

Before you could snap at him for shouting at you, Hunter turned pale. He looked up at the sky, where the full moon was just beginning to peek over the distant mountains,

"You have to run," he rasped, unable to look away from the hypnotizing white light, "Get back to the ship, now."

You gulped nervously, "Hunter, what's going on?"

But Hunter couldn't answer. He'd let go of your arms and shoved you away, leaving tiny tears in the material of your sleeves. He stumbled just a few steps away, and when you tried to approach him and help him back to his feet, he screamed. It was a mix of pain and a battle cry, like he'd done this before and knew it would hurt, but was determined to make it through this anyway.

Hunter bent over, coughing on something in his throat like he was about to throw up. He'd told you to run, but you stayed stuck where you were, rooted to the spot as you watched in horrified fascination.

You thought it might be his hair growing longer, but it was hair growing out of his shoulders and down his arms, a rich reddish-black like his curls. A cracking noise echoed through the woods as his bones bent all out of shape, rearranging themselves in his arms and legs while a large tail grew out of the base of his spine.

Then, silence.

Hunter was bent over on all fours, his new body shaking as he took deep breaths to mitigate the pain he'd just endured.

"Hunter," You gasped. He was at least twice as big as he normally was, covered in fur, and his face elongated into a narrow snout with tall, pointed ears. He would have been completely unrecognizable if you hadn't watched his transformation yourself.

When you spoke his name, he looked up at you, slowly blinking his large, yellow eyes. He growled softly, a warning. You backed away slowly. If this wolf that had taken over Hunter, what would it do to you?

You turned and ran.

Was it stupid to run? Yes, even before he turned into a giant predator, Hunter was much faster than you and you knew it. But what else could you do? No wonder Tech wanted you to stay on the ship when you went running after Hunter.

But where was the ship? Each of the gangly-limbed trees looked identical to the next, and the shadows covering the forest were thick, even with the help of the full moon.

When you looked back over your shoulder to see if Hunter was following you, you were plowed over onto your back, looking right up at the jaw of another wolf.

This wolf was brown, with its right eye and ear missing, replaced by a terrifying jagged white scar. You chest heaved as you struggled to breathe, and the strange wolf bared it's teeth, drool dripping from its lips as it leaned in closer.

It's breath smelled of blood and raw meat, and your nose wrinkled on its own. The wolf's jaws opened wide to take a bite and you closed your eyes, unable to help the whimper in your throat.

Out of nowhere, The wolf that was about to bite your head off was wrestled to the ground. It yowled in surprise as Hunter's dark form pinned it to the ground.

You knew you should run, but you were frozen in terror. The strange wolf with the scar was smaller than Hunter, but just as vicious. It swiped a paw across Hunter's snout. Hunter's head jerked to the side, and you saw something dark drip off the tip of his nose and into the grass.

He snarled, and the scarred wolf barked back in challenge. It leaped at him, and Hunter swiped at its neck. The scarred wolf appeared to relish the challenge, the injury had made this personal now. He wrestled with hunter, forcing both of them onto their hind legs as their front paws grappled for the upper hand. they were a dark silhouette of jagged fur, their teeth and claws glistening in the moonlight.

The scarred wolf managed to get the upper hand. He bit into Hunter's exposed neck and threw him to the ground, where he lay still.

"Hunter?" You whimpered.

The scarred wolf looked at you and licked its lips.

"Hunter, get up!" you begged.

The wolf jumped at you again.

"Hunter!" You screamed. The scarred wolf got its teeth around your ankle and bit down. You heard the sickening crack of bone before you could feel the pain shooting up your leg. Your breath was ripped from your lungs, and your whole body froze as you tried to figure out what to do.

It was like watching a holofilm, or something happen to someone else. The wolf tugged on your leg again, trying to tear your leg off, or at least bring you closer to where he could get a bite of something meatier.

All you could do was lie there, waiting for something to happen and praying that it would be over soon. You should have listened to Tech. You should have listened to Hunter, and you didn't even get to say good-bye to him.

You closed your eyes, waiting for it to be over, but then there was a snarl. The tugging on your leg disappeared, but the pain was still there. You opened your eyes, blinking away the tears to see what was going on.

Hunter was on his feet again, and with his whole body weight, he threw the wolf against a tree, and then placed himself squarely between you and the wolf. While the wolf stopped to catch his breath, Hunter moved to stand over you, forming an odd, furry tent as he planted his legs on all sides of you. You could feel the growl reverberating in your bones as Hunter gave the wolf one final warning. If he tried that again, he wouldn't last the night.

The scarred wolf stood, calculating for a moment, then turned and ran off into the trees with its tail between its legs.

Hunter was breathing heavily, staring after the other wolf. He stood over you, legs and body tense and defensive. You looked up at him, noticing the scars torn across his snout and neck, and gently reached out to comfort him.

He inhaled sharply as you placed your hand on the side of his snout.

"Shh, shhh," You whispered, slowly reaching into your pocket for the tube of bacta. You scooted closer, dragging your broken leg behind you.

"It's okay, I'm just gonna help you here," You spoke softly, calmly, trying not to make any sudden moves while you applied the bacta to the angry red lines.

Hunter whimpered at the slight sting, but he didn't flinch away.

"Good boy," You cooed. It felt ridiculous saying that, knowing that this was Hunter you were talking to, but it felt appropriate. A dog was a dog, even if they were bigger than you. You pondered briefly if Hunter was the one in control inside the wolf's mind, or if something more animalistic took charge during this transformation.

Either way, the moment you put away the bacta, Hunter rubbed his head against your shoulder. It nearly knocked you over, but you recovered quickly.

"You're welcome," You said, "And thank you."

You dug your fingers into the fur behind his ears, trying to give him the scratches dogs always enjoyed. He made a sound that could almost be a chuckle if it were more human.

Tears stung at your eyes, and when wolf-Hunter tried to look at your face, you buried it in the thick fur at his neck. You wrapped your arms around him, holding tightly as the adrenaline faded, leaving nothing but fear and terror in its wake.

You shook with sobs, struggling to keep your breathing even, and focused on the huffs and puffs from Hunter's big wet nose that cascaded down your back. Hunter's snout rested against your spine for some comforting pressure. Even as a wolf, he remembered his calming techniques.

With you arms still around his neck, Hunter gently lowered himself to lay on the grass. You could feel the powerful muscles in his legs as he curled them around you, like a big furry blanket.

You whimpered as he nudged your leg, and Wolf-Hunter studied your injury with interest.

"I guess that needs some bacta too, huh?" You sniffled lamely. You didn't have anything to set it with, but you could do that in the morning once the ship found you. for now, you lathered what was left of your bacta onto your wounds, until finally wolf-Hunter was satisfied.

He lowered his head to your chest, forcing you to lay back in (what would be) his arms. He shook out his tail, finally laying it across your lap as a makeshift blanket.

You dug your fingers into his fur again, scratching those hard-to-reach spots to keep your hands busy.

"Can you help me find the ship?" You asked.

Hunter huffed.

You sighed. "Yeah, I guess I can't really go anywhere at the moment."

Hunter crooned, leaning deeper into the scratches.

"Will you stay with me?" You whispered, "Keep me safe?"

He made a huffing noise that reminded you of Tech's signature "I thought it was obvious".

You buried your face in his fur again. "Thanks, Hunter."

Hi 👋!!! Omg I Love Your Writing And Stories ❤️, They Always Make Me Smile, And I Absolutely Loved

You woke up with the sun shining in your eyes. Not the best rude awakening, but you felt more rested than you had in years. And then the throbbing in your ankle set back in.

"Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow-" you hissed under your breath. You fidgeted, trying to get comfortable, but two distinctly human arms tightened their grip around you.

Your face flushed with heat as you recognized the skeletal tattoo on the left arm that was holding you, keeping you pressed against a firm chest at your back.

The fleeting idea came to you to try and wriggle out of his grasp before he woke up in order to avoid an awkward conversation, but with your broken ankle, you knew that wasn't going to happen.

The next best thing to do was just to rip the band-aid off.

"Hunter?" You gently nudged his arm, then his ribs, and even poked his cheek. all recieved varying levels of reaction.

"Hunter, we're lost in the middle of the woods."

"Huuuuntaaaaaaa!"

"HUUUUUUUUUN'ERRRRRRRRRR!"

"And it sounds like your siblings are trying to find us."

Finally, Hunter groaned, pressing his face into the back of your neck. He flexed his muscles, one by one, to try and stretch himself out, but he kept his arms around you.

"Mornin'" He yawned.

It was then that he realized he had been spooning you all night.

On the bright side, you were still fully clothed, and he still had his pants. But not very much of them. The rest of his clothes had been torn in last night's little "adventure"

"Are you alright?" He sat up immediately, taking your face in his hands as he checked you over, making his way down your body until he caught sight of your mangled foot.

"Osik did I do that to you?" he didn't even wait for an answer, muttering curse words under his breath.

"No-no, Hunter that wasn't you," You touched his arm as softly as you could manage, but he still flinched, "It was something else, another wolf."

"Another-?" Hunter glanced at your ankle again, then gave a sigh of relief. He pulled you back into his arms, kissing the crown of your head as he held you.

"I'd never be able to forgive myself if I ever hurt you like that."

You wrapped your arms around him tightly. "I know that you would never hurt me, Hunt," You whispered.

Hunter picked up on the hesitation in your voice.

"You deserve an explanation," He said, resting his forehead against yours. You kept your arms around him tightly, as if the wolf from last night might emerge from the trees and rip you from his arms. But Hunter held you tightly on his lap as if he would never let you go.

"It started during the clone wars. I got cursed when I accidentally stumbled upon a Nightsister's grave while we were scouting the planet Dathomir. Whenever we're on a planet during a full moon, well, you saw what happened."

You nodded as Hunter's hands made their way up and down your spine in soothing motions, helping you relax deeper into his arms.

"As you can probably tell, I've never been able to fully control what happens when I transform, and I've never really remembered what happened after I transform back. All I know is what my brothers have told me when I wake up in the morning, and not all of it is pretty."

"Okay," you said softly, "But why keep it a secret?"

"Because I know you," Hunter said. He took your face in his hands again, "I know that you'd pull some kind of stunt like you did last night to try and "save me from myself" or whatever. But I could never risk losing you like that."

You mustered all the energy that you could this early in the morning to slug him in the shoulder.

"And did you ever think that I might be able to help you?"

Hunter smiled sheepishly, unable to look you in the eye.

"Maybe?"

You laughed softly, and pulled him in for a kiss. Hunter relaxed against you, gently caressing your hair so that your wild locks moved out of the way. There was a different kind of transformation that occured whenever you kissed him like this, the kind deep inside that made his chest swell with courage, and his heart beat stronger. He felt like he could take on the whole galaxy, wolves and all, so long as you were in his arms.

A bit farther away now, you heard Omega and Wrecker calling your names. Hunter unceremoniously broke off the kiss and gave you an apologetic smile.

"We should get that set before it tries to heal itself," He nodded to your leg.

Knowing what was coming, you wrapped your arms around his neck and braced your body for the pain, but that didn't stop everything from hurting whenever your leg was jostled even the slightest bit.

"Easy, cyare," He cooed, his voice low against your ear, "We'll take it nice and slow."

Just like how you had managed to calm his wolf-form last night, Hunter's words now had a soothing effect on you. With every step that brought you closer to the Marauder, you were able to relax a little bit more.

But you couldn't resist playing with fire.

"You know, I think your wolf-form might have had a crush on me."

"Oh did he now?" Hunter smirked, his grip on you tightening ever so slightly.

"Well, he'll have to get in line."
