For the request how about Revali angst, it's canon that he's the last champion to die and that each champion can hear each other via divine beast. Maybe do the moment he realizes the fate of the other champions?
I sadly never finished it, and I don't think I will. Might as well share what I had at the time...
Revali headcanons I came up with
- Avid linguist, loves language
- have you heard him talk?? His voice is like silk and he knows it
- knows the basics of every language just so he can switch out of nowhere and watch everyone be surprised/amazed
- loves using long confusing words when talking to people he hates so he can be like “oh, sorry- you don’t understand? I’ll put it into dumber words next time”
- give him a dictionary, he’ll become insufferable for the next couple days (or weeks)
- hates adults, loves kids. They’re small and easily amazed and love him. He let’s his guard down in favor of talking to them- which evolves into him mothering random kids, especially rito children. Tells them to keep their conversations a secret tho
- has to resist the urge to pick up and walk off with people’s children (they’re his now). He probably once accidentally abstemindedly braided a little girl’s hair then had to bribe her not to tell her parents that THE great Revali braided her hair and told her a story
- doesn’t want anyone to see him holding one because he doesn’t want to seem somft. Will probably adopt a kid or two once he finds a mate
- king of trash talk
- he’ll make surface insults, but heavens forbid you call him anything back. He’ll become the definition of verbal assault and won’t let up even when you wave the white flag, if anything he’ll just get worse
- Don’t get into a name calling contest with Revali. He’s a dictionary of mean words. Not even swear words either, he gets really creative with insults. Asinine is one of his favorites.
- Likes putting things around his neck, usually scarves but probably wears necklaces on his own time- maybe even under the scarf. Admires gerudo jewelry a lot, and if Urbosa maybe caught him once buying a gerudo choker to put under his scarf, she doesn’t say anything
- Gets along with Urbosa the best. Mipha and him just don’t talk much because she doesn’t like him being mean. Daruk, well he doesn’t like death mountain and Daruk kinda gets on his nerves. Zelda and him bond over being exasperated with Link, he has great sympathy for her because she’s worked herself to the bone yet has nothing to show for it. Urbosa can kind of understand his want to prove himself to the world, she doesn’t mind his insults- she’s thick skinned. They both bond over being protective of Zelda.
- Plus he likes gemstones, although he’d never admit it if asked. Talus hunting is a favorite pastime of his because if he kills it then the gems are all his. Doesn’t even sell them, just takes them to jewelers to be made into pretty jewelry. Sapphire in particular. Has a lot of pretty stuff, but doesn’t wear it because he’s still a warrior.
- Probably has a chest plate made specifically for heat control, Urbosa got it for him so he doesn’t have an excuse when she drags him to something out in the desert. (He’s good for molduga hunting). She trades him hydromelons for wildberries when they see each other.
- has a little war going on with Link.
- Tried everything he could think of to get Link to fight him- no use. The Hylian instead started acting nice to try and get Revali to stop harping on him. It pisses off and flusters Revali because he has no idea how to fight with nice.
- Extra Revalink Headcanons below
- One sided fight. Revali called Link a bitch, and in response Link gave him a Christmas present. Even worse Revali couldn’t reject it because it was a pearl necklace with a diamond in the middle- how on earth did Link figure out his shiny obsession??
- has no idea what to do about Link. Nothing’s working
- Urbosa accidentally sees it one day and asks where he got it, and Revali has to do the whole “oh this I’ve had it for ages I honestly don’t remember” thing, while Link’s in the background grinning because Revali actually liked it.
Revalink prompt - Mute Revali
- Okay so, I’ve read a bundle of stories where Revali learned minor signing in order to communicate with Link better, but it got me thinking about Revalink sign conversations and all of a sudden I just sat up and thought “What If Revali got turned mute?”
- Like an incident just took his voice away for a few weeks (or better yet, his voice gets stolen by Astor and he’s gotta track that bitch down to get it back)
- and Revali would be crushed because he can’t be silent, he gotta talk and boast and be the thespian he was always meant to be! How will anyone know how great he is without him reminding them all the time? There’s gonna be moments when he opens his mouth trying to talk and just suddenly... can’t. And things he does and wants to say just get skipped over because of it.
- At first he tries to ignore it, but by day 3 literally everyone can see that he’s going insane just because of the issues it’s causing. First little stuff to piss him off. Like the Innkeeper couldn’t understand him saying he wants to be waken in the morning and Revali wakes up at noon pissed.
- But eventually dangerous miscommunications start happening. Revali was told to scout ahead, and now couldn’t properly convey there was a frost talus heading for them so the gotta mOVE NOW!
- And the best part? He always mocked Link for being mute, and now he himself cannot talk. And now Link’s gotta teach him sign. Meaning he’s forced to make nice with the person he hates or else he doesn’t get any form of communication at all.
- Bonus points if only Link is fluent in sign and the other’s only know little tidbits, making Link the only person Revali can actually have conversations with. (Plus now they get to have secret conversations only they can understand).
- Revali suddenly has to spend all his time with Link because he’s the only one he can actually talk to. Though he hates having to swallow his pride and point to stuff to ask what the sign for it is.
- Revalink scenes galore
- plus they end up bonding over things like people assuming stuff and idiots not knowing sign just being irritating. Just being mute in general. Plus Revali eventually realizing how (not just degrading) but outright rude it is to assume you know everything about a person that doesn’t talk. And that sign is a actually really important language to know because the people that speak it are physically unable to commicate in any other way.
- Revali learning that- no, the silent knight is not dark and mysterious and thinks himself higher than everyone else, he just can’t speak and has a very neutral face even when impressed. Even better is when people assume Link and Revali are exchanging super secret information when they’re really just signing about how fucking humid the weather is down in Faron. (Humid weather make’s Revali’s feathers fluffy).
- Insert scene where Revali watches Zelda have a one-sided conversation with Link where she goes “I don’t need you hovering, I’m cabable of taking care of myself” When he was trying to tell her something helpful. Cue shocked Revali being like ‘does that seriously happen?’ and Link goes ‘All the time’. And Revali being appalled at the amount of assumed ill intent behind everything Link does.
- Tons of signing conversations
- Revali gets a couple months to see what it’s like to be in Link’s shoes, and realizes a lot both about himself and about Link. It’s the wake up call he needs.
- When Revali finally gets his voice back, he offers to be Link’s translator. They go everywhere together. They’ll still have signing conversations with each other too.

Arrogant, stuck up, prissy, short, self absorbed, tsundere, young, over dramatic, dismissive, argumentative, flashy, sarcastic, assholish, rude, sassy, dry- If there’s a word to discribe all of this, it’s Revali.
This is my take on Revali’s braids, I’m not accepting this weird “long flowing hair” bullshit. I say fans.

Me? Posting to the wrong blog? I would never. You saw nothing.
I can totally imagine Zelda giving Link the slip every time they go to Rito Village to vent about how utterly infuriatingly arrogant and insufferable her new chosen shadow is. So obviously Revali hates Link to begin with and his jealousy is only an extension of that. Because who is this random Hylian kid to treat Zelda like that and how is he worthy of wielding the Master Sword when Revali isn't?
Then imagine Revali's regret when it's a hundred years later and suddenly he gets to observe Link from Vah Medoh and whenever he uses Gale. Link was never actually dismissive of Zelda and he never thought he was any better than Revali or anyone else for that matter. Only in death does Revali realize that Link was silent because he was under so much pressure from literally everyone he met and Revali used to antagonize him for it.
Revali realizes that this is the real Link, the one using Revali's Gale to explore and experience the life that he never got to have for himself before he died. The silent knight from before the Calamity was a survival mechanism that people like Revali forced him to use when they told him he wasn't good enough or that he wasn't worthy. Link and Revali have a chance to start over when they both die but Revali is honestly so happy for Link when he also gets a second chance at life.
I headcanon that the ghosts of the Champions finally moved on after the Calamity was defeated so obviously there's potential for a lot of angst there but I'd like to think that Revali gets to leave Hyrule for the last time satisfied that he's made amends. Link will slowly remember more and more of the hostile and jealous Revali of the past but it's okay. He chooses to remember the person he met after waking up a hundred years in the future and Revali's memory lives on as a tragic but hopeful tale.
Personally I think Revali would be physically affectionate with Zelda. Seeing as he's a commoner (at least not nobility), he didn't grow up around the environment of "untouchable royals." so he's just throwing a wing around her shoulder or leaning in her. (one time he shoved her playfully and she about squealed with delight.) With Zelda, I think she'd appreciate a friend who wouldn't be afraid to be close to her or speak honestly with her. I think she'd find his attitude refreshing and he would likewise finding her interesting and accepting for his idea of how nobility acts. They just give me a very loving platonic relationship vibe
Ooh and this could be another reason why Revali doesn't like Link because he seems so apathetic towards Zelda in his memories.

For some unfathomable reason, Link liked this champion. Enough to be hurt by his actions and carry that pain with him for days on end. “What would you have me do? If I could bring back the dead, I would do so in a heartbeat. There is no part of me that does not mourn what happened—” “You killed my best friend!” Revali screeches. Zelda’s breath catches in her throat. How dare he— How dare he insinuate that she— “He’s my best friend too!” she screams. She is no longer Princess Zelda, or the Incarnation of the Goddess, but just Zelda, and one of the few people who knew her is dead in front of her, and now this champion dare accuse her of having killed him? “Do you think I wanted this? It was never like this, Ganon never acted like this! This wasn’t the plan!”
Moonlight (every single night) chapter 11

Divine Beast Vah Medoh Travel Log
(Did some writing from Link’s POV. It’s early game him [I have 6 hearts and barely any food, doing a run where I can’t fast travel, I have to give Link a sleep schedule to the best of my ability and at least one meal a day, though it wouldn’t be bad if he stayed up collecting bugs all night right???] But I wanted to kinda do a RP run to challenge myself and develop some new Headcannons. But here’s the stuff I wrote down as I did Vah Medoh! Enjoy :)
Link's Diary:
Word Count: 656
NIGHT 1
With Teba’s help, I was able to board the Divine Beast. It was a little scary with the cannons, as they sounded like Guardians, but it wasn’t too bad for me. Unfortunately though, we didn’t both come out unscathed as Teba was injured by one of the blasts. After a word of encouragement from him, he returned to the Flight Range. I hope he’s ok…When I registered the Sheikah Slate to Vah Medoh though…I heard a voice. He seemed…annoyed at me. He seemed to know what I was there for…Is it Revali? He sounds exactly like him…He challenged me to get the map, and I didn’t run into too much trouble as I got it. The air was filled with this sickly flaky stuff, ew. But, I found the first terminal!
DAY 1
Well, I solved the puzzle for the second terminal pretty fast, though I feel kind of sick trying to keep Magnesis up and working while Vah Medoh goes back and forth tilting this way and that…Makes me nauseous…I would try eating something but maybe lying down would help…Sorry Revali…I think.
After a nap I do feel a bit better. I decided to get some fresh air, but it was a bad idea too…I got a little lightheaded from how high up I am. Though the view of Hyrule is so worth it…I got a picture of the castle too. It’s so small! I climbed to the very front of Vah Medoh and got a Giant Ancient Core! Not very excited to go back though…everything is so narrow…lucky for me I have the Paraglider, but I don’t think it would even last that long from how high in the air I am. Ugh….Nauseous again…this thing was definitely not built for Hyilans….ugh…DAMMIT I MISSED THE TERMINAL. And now Revali is laughing at me…great. I think I’m gonna vomit…I got another terminal though! It’s not the same one I passed, but it’s still closer to the goal. Two more to go! Revali even sounds impressed!
NIGHT 2
ONE MORE!! But I think I need to vomit seriously. Uh…Nobody look? Revali especially, I’m already embarrassed from earlier-
Out comes…the last two meals I had…ugsh….uhh…I feel terrible…I think I’m dying…I think I’ll lay down again…
…I had my first nightmare…It was…Unsettling. The cannons on Vah Medoh were all aimed at me, and I couldn’t move…Revali was it there too…He just repeated what he said in the memory I regained…Maybe the motion sickness got to me, hah…
DAY 2
Well, I’m at the last terminal. It’s now or never! I spent the rest of the night roasting a bunch of foods on the fire I made. Don’t worry, Vah Medoh isn’t flammable! I got the last terminal! It’s time to take this thing back from Ganon!
I…I did it. I freed Vah Medoh from the Blight…And almost….cried. Not from the fight but…I guess seeing Revali again did something to me…His spirit, that is…He seemed proud, unlike how he looked in that memory I gained…Maybe…Maybe he is proud of me? I don’t get why but…It made me really happy to see him. I’m glad that Rito Village is safe now though, and I’m glad for the new skill Revali passed down to me. It’s named after himself, which…isn’t surprising. The fight against the Blight was really tough and I got hurt a lot, but it was all worth it in the end, the Rito can fly freely in the sky now with no worries! I should probably go check on Teba though…
I checked up on him, he’s ok! I also spoke with the Elder, he said I would be the splitting image of my past self with the ‘sword that seals the darkness’ or something like that. Sounds important! Anyway he gave me a reward! It’s…It’s Revali’s bow..? Ok I think I need a moment, lots of emotions are being felt right now…
