A little reminder for trans people in the UK based on everything that happened:

Just because your family is accepting of your identity or knows about it does not mean they understand the dangers. I just had an argument with my brother, because when I mentioned the fact I’d be at a far higher risk for being jumped now he didn’t believe it; said people in our area weren’t capable of that.

People in any area are capable of bigoted violence, so remember to warn your family of the dangers you’ll be facing and to be safe and well equipped to defend yourself when going out.

You CANNOT separate art from the artist when the artist is still alive and producing new media to profit off.

So on that note, do NOT watch the new Harry Potter series. Do not hate watch it. Do not watch it because “it’s going to be my childhood remade”. I do not care. Do not watch it. This is a direct move to erase the original trio who have all stood against jkr.

i’m so SICK of people telling me that trans people aren’t in danger just because we’re not actively being hunted and killed for sport. WHEN HAS BEING “LEGAL” EVER ERASED PREJUDICE??? just because we aren’t being hung in the street doesn’t mean that our livelihood isn’t under review by a bunch of people that want us gone. i’m so tired it’s all i can talk to my therapist about

BTW, if you’re not going to do anything about the rise of fascism in the United States besides freak out on social media, you’re not that different from those who did nothing in Germany back in the late 1930s. I’ve been very proactive myself, protesting and getting the word out in public, a white supremacist even tried to take my protest sign away by force, but nobody seems to care until it’s convenient for them to. (Also, you get lees afraid of your life being put in danger when you have less to lose tbh)

I’m dead fucking serious. Our lives literally depend on it. We have no time to wonder if we should fight back or not. Because we absolutely should!

I know a lot of you in the US are probably sick and tired of hearing this, but PLEASE vote whenever possible! Be it a mail in ballot, or at your local polling place on Election Day.

I do not want to be enslaved at a prison camp because of all trans people being criminalized or m*rdured by an emboldened fascist because people didn’t care enough about what’s currently at stake!

do not lose hope because the second we do, we allow mr trump to usurp power and diminish our democracy. i implore anyone who is or cares about someone who isnt white, male, straight, cisgender, christian, and wealthy to let their voices be heard. im not saying that we will have a repeat of the holocaust, but many things trump or his administration had said is eerily parallel to the words of hitler. our voices are so incredibly important in a political climate such as this one and i beg all of you

get angry

get upset

become inspired

recognize that we are inevitably going to experience extreme hardships

fight back.

we must unite as one nation under god because divide will be the end of the great american experiment. i love you all so much, and per usual, this is a safe space.

it wont be today, and it wont be tomorrow, but we, the people, will win.
