My Family in Gaza: Stuck in a Vicious Cycle of Pain, Displacement and Death
I experienced the traumatic experience of displacement four times with my family in Gaza before I was evacuated alone to Ireland with the help of my Irish college.
No words can describe the fear that engulfs us when we see thousands of leaflets in our sky dropped from Israeli warplanes ordering us to leave for other places that are just as dangerous. It is a tedious and terrible process of packing everything we need, begging bus drivers over the phone (mostly with a feeble phone signal) to come and pick us up at any cost. Unfortunately, displacement and running from death became the daily routine of adults and children alike in Gaza.
When displaced, sniper bullets and indiscriminate heavy bombardment are not the only risks that face my family and other people. Another life-threatening problem facing people in Gaza is the sewage flooding the streets of Gaza after Israel deliberately destroyed most of the infrastructure. This led to the spread of fatal viruses and diseases like Poliomyelitis as announced by the Ministry of Health in Gaza.
It pains my heart that my beloved city Gaza has turned into an apocalyptic ghost city where innocent people, children and adults, are indiscriminately killed daily. It is shocking to see this becoming normalized and the extent to which the world has become desensitized. What happened to humanity and human rights?! When will we see a ceasefire and be able to hug and reunite with our families?! When will we wake up from this never-ending nightmare?
The Lifeless corpses of innocent Palestinians decompose in the streets of Gaza and under the rubble. These bodies become food for stray dogs. I wonder what hopes and dreams the person had before he was killed. Did it hurt? Was he scared? Was it fast or painfully slow?! Does he/ she have children? Does his/her family know?! Was he/she unlucky to be in the wrong place at the wrong time?! Most importantly, how does one decide what is a wrong place and a wrong time to be when every place and every time in Gaza is wrong?! Survival is nothing but a matter of luck in Gaza.
Imagining that this could be the fate of my family makes me go insane with heart-stopping fear!
With the increasing escalation in the region, hope for a ceasefire in Gaza fades away and I have to live every second of every day with the haunting thoughts that my family could be the next to leave this cruel world brutally. Therefore, I am exerting all efforts to get them out of Gaza and hopefully reunite with them in Ireland where I am continuing my studies.

All the tarp you see are human bodies. How many of those tarp covered bodies didn't make it to see their 18th birthday? How many didn't get to see the 1st birthday of their child? How many didn't get to celebrate retirement? These are human lives being ripped away at an alarming rate.
There should be no reason you can't step outside without seeing a decomposing child, mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, uncle, aunt, brother, sister, friend, or lover.

It wasn't a misfired bomb. It was guns. They knew what they were targeting.
Anyone who defends this, for whatever religion you believe in, even if you believe in nothing at all, I can only hope the afterlife brings you your deserved suffering on a platter. My eldest son Zain's first year at school was a joy for his school, friends and teachers. His life was like the life of any child who dreams of everything beautiful.
My second son, Yahya, was in his first year of kindergarten,and he would wake up early, happy to go to his friends and play.
Or do they now wake up to the sounds of planes and explosions and feel ashamed when they stand in line to get food or water? A terrible difference between our lives in the past and the present. A year between our stable life and the life of war, no education, no games, no life, no security, and no source of income. How long, world, where is humanity, where are the rights of my children? Imagine leaving your whole family in Gaza behind and having to evacuate to Ireland in the middle of a devastating war that spares no one and nothing. You watch the massacres live in the news and countless horrific scenarios play out in your mind, take your sleep away, and put you in a miserable condition.
You call your mother from the comfort and easy life of Ireland to hear the following words: the last couple of nights were horrible we could not sleep because of the nonstop bombing in the area! We bake rotten flour to make bread! We are freezing every night, especially the children!
As you can see in the video below, it is incredibly hard to get bread and food in Gaza now. This is how much people and my family are starving while I have everything I need within hand reach in Ireland.

Hello, I am Abdallah al swusiis ,l am from in the north of Gaza Strip. Despite my feeling of shame, I am writing this letter and appeal after hesitation and confusion.
Fear forced me to tell you that I have been living through a genocidal war for more than 11months. Many times I stayed with my family after the destruction of our home and the martyrdom of my relatives, as we suffered from hunger, poverty, and lack of the minimum necessities of life, and we fled to many places. I am still afraid of losing any member of my family during the journey of displacement and suffering. There is no safety anywhere in Gaza. We have lost everything, our health, our dreams, our future, our ordinary life. I never expected in my entire life to ask for something like this or financial assistance from anyone, but the current situation Disastrous and crazy, as my family and I need this money to escape this nightmare and cross the border at a cost of approximately $49,200 in lives. I am a Palestinian youngman of 26 yrs , from the besieged Gaza, seeking to find safety and peace for my eight_member family 👪 that has been in very harsh and tough situations for almost a year. Since the outbreak of the war, we have been forcibly displaced to the south of Gaza, in the hope of finding a safer place, but the fact is that there is no safe place in Gaza. After we had lost all our possessions and belongings like our house and our livelihood_ source business were destroyed and damaged 💔 due to the annihilation of our neighborhood.
This photo was taken to the remains and ruins of our house. Nothing has been left for my family to live in nor a source to live on. Now we are living in small tents ⛺ in streets lacking all means of a house.
We re leading unbelievably difficult circumstances due to this injust war on Gaza. Also, We are painfully suffering from the bad living conditions because we lack all necessities and essentials of our daily life. Food, clean drink water, medicine 💊, health care , and other necessities have become scarce and unattainable and this adds to our sufferings and hardship.

My name is Mohammed Ayyad from Gaza. My wife, children and I were displaced quickly since the first days of the war on Gaza, leaving behind all our wealth and dreams. We are forced to leave our home and live in the south of Gaza, Rafah.
A few days after we left the house and went to the south (Rafah) we announce our tactics to our home with ease our beautiful next and destroyed everything we owned. Everything we had went with the wind, we are now working in hell (the tent) suffering one from collecting wood to cook food which is clearly difficult to produce from the water that was spread and is polluted by the cursed war and our work we lose our source of livelihood.
I became a desperate refugee and dug into a very small tent, without water and food life became horrible and sad with the disappearance of the need to survive. It is a struggle for survival.
Because of the continuous bombing and the difficulty of living with the high expectations our life is security our life is peace, we ask generous people to donate to service our planes. Our lives are threatened at any time, and everyone is exposed and death is not. We have never been safely moved to a place until war, and we have never lost our lives at any moment.
