i get that a lot of people dont like chloe redemptions bc they want her to be the bad bitch she deserves to be but what ur forgetting is that u can be a kind bad bitch. u can be a caring bad bitch. lila and gabriel fulfill the roles of irredeemable villains for the show (one for ladynoir, one for adrienette), why do we need another one. chloes meanness stems from severe childhood trauma and neglect . tahts not a villain. thats a victim. the difference is that when chloe is shown genuine affection and caring she falters. for a split second shes not so evil. gabe and lila literally never do that. the closest they got to that was when gabe made the wish but lila is shown ENDLESS love and compassion and never once does she think hey, maybe i can be good with these people. i think chloe deserved redemption bc she WANTED it. anyway i love chloe. LET HER LIVE!! IN PEACE!!!!
On Zoe gaining from Chloe's losses,
Andre, most normal people viewing it from the outside would see it as no great loss, but the show narrative treats Chloe as being too awful to deserve a "wonderful" father like Andre and him finally having the loving daughter he deserves, further I don't think a real person in Chloe's position would consider what happened a good thing.
The Bee miraculous, Chloe isn't unique in linking her sense of self worth to her role as a hero. Marinette in particular relies on being Ladybug. Also, it was pretty clear how she felt about it and Zoe took the miraculous anyway.
I don't blame Zoé too much, she protested and Ladybug insisted. Imagine you're a 12-13 y/o and a superhero tells you to do something.
And yeah the narrative can go suck eggs on André. He is a piece of shit father who shifts blame onto everyone but himself for all of his actions. He has been that way from the beginning. He hasn't stopped as of the last time we saw him.
So I will never write it as a loss having that man out of Chloé's life.

i feel like chloe's outfit from yesterday's post didnt get enough focus LOOK AT HERR
Just had someone tell me that Marinette telling Chloe and Audrey that they should bond over being toxic and entitled was okay because she was being sarcastic, and I just gotta say..... no? that doesn't make it better??
Thankfully this person was pretty civil, and open to having an actual conversation about that scene, and by the end of it we came to agree on some things.
But I still wanna blog about it, because I have a lot of feelings.
Even if Marinette was saying it to be ironic, which still isn't an interpretation that I'm fully on board with, but for the sake of argument, even if she was, that's still a horrible thing to say given the circumstances!
Marinette doesn't have to like Chloe, but if her first reaction to seeing a girl her age on the verge of tears while she asks her mother "Why don't you love me?" is to have a laugh and say "Well, you both suck, so you should be glad to be stuck together!" then that is terrible, and petty, and vicious!
If for some reason you wanna have Marinette banter with Chloe about it, at least wait until she isn't in the most vulnerable position possible, baring her deepest trauma while confronting her abuser.
Either way you slice it, Marinette had no right to say what she did! She was either giving harmful advice that she wasn't qualified to give, or she was being downright cruel.
