This fandom talks a lot about Ciel accidentally calling Sebastian dad, but I've never seen anyone talk about when Sebastian will inevitably slip up and refer to Ciel as his kid. So that's what I'm doing today.
Here's what I'm picturing: People have been disappearing under strange circumstances. There doesn't seem to be much of a pattern- the person's age does not seem to be a factor, nor their social status, ethnicity, ect. It seems random, and they might not be connected to each other at all, but the timing indicated that they were not isolated incidents.
Ciel and Sebastian eventually track down the culprit and it is no grim reaper, nor a demon, or a ghost. It is simply a human being. A middle-aged man who disappeared and was presumed dead some time after his wife and children were killed in a robbery.
So why, Ciel asks, had this man gone through the trouble of getting off the radar only to take all of these people from their homes, their families, their lives, and hold them here?
The man explains that the first several people he took had been associated with the robbery that lead to the deaths of his family. He had taken them and killed them shortly thereafter. But there had been other disappearances, this man had taken people who had no connections whatsoever to that robbery- why?
Well, you see, he wanted a family again. He had been alone since the death of his own family, he had been flying under the radar so that he could locate and dispose of the criminals who killed his family without interference from the police. But now... he was lonely. So he created a new family. He had been watching these people, and they all seemed unhappy with their day to day lives in some way or another, so he brought them here, where they could all be together.
Ciel and Sebastian are already disgusted, not to mention unnerved, by just how unhinged this man had become. But then he said something really interesting...
"I've been watching you too, you know. Since you began looking into these disappearances. A part of me hoped that you would find me- after all, you remind me quite a bit of my own son. And I can't stand to see my son so unhappy in life."
The man moves to grab Ciel, and Sebastian laughs. It's a rather cold, threatening kind of laugh; one that doesn't imply any real humor so much as a dark kind of amusement as one watches their prey attempt to escape. Just as the man grabs Ciel by the arm and attempts to drag him away, Sebastian laughs as he calmly steps between Ciel and this man who had clearly lost his mind.
"I was going to be kind and grant you the mercy of a quick death," Sebastian commented as he shoved the man back, forcing him to let go of Ciel as he tried to regain his balance. "But that was before you laid your filthy hands on my child."
Sebastian turned around, just for a moment, offering that pleasant smile to Ciel as he said, "Please do close your eyes, young master. You needn't witness such a violent display." as if he were completely unaware of what he had said just seconds ago.
Nonetheless, Ciel did as Sebastian asked and kept his eyes tightly shut until some time later when Sebastian declared the coast to be clear. When Ciel opened his eyes, the man was gone- as was any evidence that he had been brutally killed in this very spot not five minutes ago -and Sebastian stood there as if nothing had happened at all.
"We should fetch the others, my lord. I'm sure they are anxiously awaiting the arrival of those who will return them to their homes."
And so they located the victims- those who were still alive, that is. Those who were part of the 'family'. And they returned to civilization victorious, having found those who were missing, and returned them safely to their loved ones.
It all worked out rather well in the end- there had been nothing they could do about the victims that had been involved in the robbery, those who had already been killed when Ciel and Sebastian found the others, but the other victims lived, they could return to their normal lives, and if anyone asked, the culprit had been insane and was killed as an act of self-defense, which wasn't entirely untrue. That left only one question to plague Ciel's mind...
"Did you call me your child?"
Sebastian stopped what he was doing and froze only for a few seconds before turning to Ciel, trying to keep his expression neutral.
"Pardon?"
"After than lunatic grabbed me, just before you told me to close my eyes while you disposed of him, I heard you call me your child." Ciel stated.
"Ah. So I did." Sebastian acknowledged, knowing that he couldn't lie. "My deepest apologies, my lord, it won't happen again."
"Why?" Ciel pressed. "Why would you call me that?"
Sebastian let out a sigh. Damn this child's stubborn nature.
"For better or worse, you have been under my care for these past three years, and I suppose one could say that in that time, I have grown somewhat fond of you." Sebastian admitted reluctantly. "Call it a simple slip of the tongue."
Ciel wants to push and to ask more questions and, if he's being honest with himself, he wants Sebastian to plainly say that he cares about him. But he's not going to do that, because Ciel doesn't want to show that kind of emotion and weakness. So Sebastian called Ciel his child, Ciel asked about it exactly once, and then it was never mentioned again.
Anyway, yeah, that's it, that's the post, love you, ravens <3
One decision can alter the course of reality. The decision that changed the course of Mori's life was sending Soukoku to deal with a drug trade in France while sending Oda to die for the Special Ability permit. This last minute decision has altered the course of countless lives.
Chapter 1/?
Fluff & Angst (this chapter is 99% fluff)
(Special thanks to @battle-ax-nation for staying up on FaceTime with me while I wrote this. Love you! 🩵)
I’m just saying, right about now would be a good time for Verlaine to step in
Friendly reminder that if I haven’t answered your ask the same day, it means either:
I want to treasure that ask forever
I dont feel up to social interaction
I didnt have time, and ended up forgetting about it
What it does NOT mean:
I dont like getting asks
You’re bothering me by sending asks
That butler, devoted cat lover
Bonus: That cat lover, rejected
uhm so I ended up writing a really short fic based on this post in attempt to get over writer’s block (it didn’t work but hey I wrote something…?)
read HERE thank you
As promised, here it is @spoiledbrat217!
Sorry it took so long, but I’m back to writing now! Hope you like the story! Let me know if you’re looking to read anymore dadbastian fics because I would love to write more! 🩵

It happens every time they travel outside of London. Originally, Ciel believed the only reason people mistook Sebastian for the Earl of Phantomhive was because he was the only adult between the two. Ciel mainly ignored it and allowed Sebastian to clear up the misconception on his own, but one merchant in York caught his attention.
"Ah, Vincent! It is good to see you, my old friend!"
Both Earl and Butler stopped in their tracks. Ciel glanced around the room in an attempt to locate who the merchant was referring to. At the same time, Sebastian addressed the merchant and explained that Vincent had been succeeded by his son. The merchant, in his old age, seemed to not understand what Sebastian was saying.
"Ah, I see. You are getting ready to pass on some of the lighter duties of being an Earl to your son, so you brought him with you to teach him finances and such. Do be careful taking him out, he looks a bit frail."
Ciel glared at the merchant and Sebastian smirked.
"And please, do something about that awful haircut. It looked better the way you had it awhile ago."
Now, Sebastian glared at the merchant and Ciel smirked.
That interaction had taken place two days ago and had not left Ciel's mind. Why had the merchant mistaken Sebastian for his father? Well, Sebastian had been mistaken for his father before when traveling to places they would not be recognized. Yet, he had been addressed as his father, Vincent Phantomhive.
Apparently, the interaction had yet to leave Sebastian's mind as well. However, it wasn't being mistaken for the late Earl that was haunting him.
Ciel turned his head to observed his appearance obsessed butler who was focused on his reflection in the window. Ciel attempted to resist the urge to roll his eyes and place his head in his hands.
His attempt failed.
"The merchant was balding. I don't know why you're letting this bother you." Ciel said.
Sebastian sighed and walked to Ciel's desk. He picked up the papers Ciel had been working on and began to sort through them.
"This is why I don't like humans, they're all so rude. How dare they comment on my appearance. They're all going to grow old and ugly. I'm never going to grow old and ugly..."
While Sebastian went on his little tangent, Ciel turned to look at him. To analyze him.
After about 30 seconds, Sebastian caught his eye and raised an eyebrow.
"But I'll never grow old and ugly." Ciel replied with a smirk after a beat of silence. Sebastian smirked back.
“No, you won’t. I can promise you that.”
“But you’ll still grow old. After all, you are already old.”
Sebastian’s smirk falls.
“Must you be so cruel to me, my lord? I’m always so kind to you-.”
“You were just smiling at my impending death.”
“Well, yes, but that’s still a ways off. And I’m brought more joy at the thought of finally receiving my dinner than it’s side effect.”
“Mhm.”
~~~
It wasn’t until later that night (or, more specifically, the early hours of the next morning) that Ciel finally saw it.
Ciel was no strangers to nightmares and, by extension, Sebastian could be labeled the same. He’s accepted that he’ll most likely suffer nightmares for the remainder of his life; yet, he’s also aware that his butler will be with him even when he has taken his last breath. The routine will remain a constant: Ciel has a nightmare, wakes up, calls Sebastian to stay with him, on occasion will demand warm milk with honey, and Sebastian will stay with him until it is time to wake up.
Too bad the usual routine was nonexistent that night.
The dream started off pleasant, he and his family were all together in the sitting room. Mother had even allowed him a second slice of the chocolate cake they had for dessert. They were happy and everything was peaceful.
Until it wasn’t.
He saw, felt, smelled, and heard everything. The smell of ash, the unbearable heat produced only by raging flames, his parents screams.
He felt someone grab him, he felt being thrown into a cage, he smelled death, he heard death. No details were spared. He relived everything. Only one thing was missing and that was Sebastian never appeared. The last thing he saw was a man bring a knife down for the killing blow.
Ciel woke up with a blood curling scream, soon followed by heaving sobs and more screams.
The whole manor awoke at the sound of his distress and rushed to him.
Sebastian (unsurprisingly) arrived first, quickly followed by Mey-Rin, Bard, Finny, and Tanaka.
“What’s wrong?” Sebastian asked, sounding more surprised than alarmed.
“Did someone break in?!” Bard exclaimed, weapons ready.
“I don’t see any disturbance to the room. No signs of anyone breaking in.” Mey-Rin reported, glasses off.
“Doesn’t mean there couldn’t be something outside.” Finny said, hand still on one of the doors.
“What wrong, my lord?” Sebastian asked again as he moved towards Ciel. He received a scream mixed with a sob in return. Sebastian knelt by his charge’s bed.
“Young master?”
Ciel had yet to turn his attention to any of his servants, instead keeping gaze strictly down.
Sebastian sighed.
“Alright, Mey-Rin, Finny, and Bard, go search the yard for any disturbances. Tanaka, tell Finny to put down the door and then call the repairman.”
“Huh?” Finny questioned before turning to see that he had torn the door off of the doorway and was holding it upright by the doorknob. Finny let out a yelp and let go.
The sound of the door hitting the floor caused Ciel left his head up in alarm. Sebastian was the first one he saw, except he didn’t see Sebastian. He saw a man who looked nearly identical to his father, save for the darker hair and red eyes. The way he was looking at him, waiting for him to speak, worried for his safety yet not worried at all because he knows he’ll get the situation resolved soon. Vincent used to look at him He almost looked like he cared for him. Ciel’s breathing slowed just a little as he reached his hand out only to retract it.
“Fa-…”
Sebastian didn’t move aside from tilting his head.
“Hm? Do you want something?”
‘Earl! It has been too long. Is this your son? How adorable! How have you been?’
‘Earl Phantomhive! It’s a pleasure to see you and your son! Oh dear, what happened to his eye?’
‘Taking your son out today, Earl Phantomhive?’
‘Ah, Vincent! It is good to see you, my old friend!’
The voices swarmed in Ciel’s head as he continued to stare at his butler. Said butler was staring right back at him as he tried to decipher what had caused the Earl such distress. Sebastian tilted his head to the other side.
“Did you have a nightma-?”
Sebastian was cut off as Ciel wrapped his arm around his shoulders and buried his head in the crook of his neck.
A beat of silence passes before Sebastian raises his hand in a shooing motion towards the servants. The others left the room as quietly as possible to search the property as previously ordered.
Sebastian places a hand on top of Ciel’s head in an attempt to both soothe and fix the boy’s messy hair (it had been bugging him).
“Well, this is new.” Sebastian said, a bit uncomfortable due to the tears soaking into his uniform, but no harm was done.
Sebastian’s main concern at the moment was Ciel’s heart beat which was much too quick for his liking. At this rate, Ciel would work himself up to becoming ill or worse.
“… It’s not fair.” Ciel managed to get out through his sobs. Sebastian raised an eyebrow.
“Hardly anything is.” Sebastian agreed, eyes scanning the room for the fifth time just to ensure no foul play had occurred. He was sure nothing had happened but the current state Ciel was in made him question his senses. Nightmares are an easy fix, they had their routine. Surely, something must have happen.
Ciel continued to mumble various things that Sebastian could not understand and labeled as hysterics. Normally, Sebastian would have made his young charge warm milk with honey by now, but the young master didn’t seem interested in letting him go any time soon. How… inconvenient.
So, he stayed. He stayed until Ciel ended up crying himself to sleep and he stayed until the servants returned.
He really should have left the moment he sensed the servants making their way back up to Ciel’s room.
Sebastian could hear the servants whisper among themselves before shushing Finny after he exclaimed something about a great idea.
Slowly, the servants made their way over to the pair. Sebastian repressed a sigh.
“What now? Whatever it is, you’ll have to manage it yourselves. I’m a bit tied down at the moment.” Sebastian asked, his attention still focused on Ciel.
The servants glanced at each other, smiling.
“I’m gonna take that as a yes.” Bard said and the servants quickly left the room in hushed discussions.
Sebastian decided it was best to ignore whatever they were up to now for the sake of his own sanity. Ciel’s heartbeat had begun to slow to a pace Sebastian deemed healthy for a human. He’ll stay with the boy for another 10 minutes to ensure his sleep was at least somewhat peaceful. Afterwords, he will tuck the young Earl back into bed and resume his duties.
5 minutes had passed when the servants returned with pillows, blankets, marshmallows, and plushies. Sebastian used his free hand to rub his forehead.
“Why-?”
“Don’t look at us like that! You’re the one who said we could have a slumber party.” Bard whisper-yelled.
Sebastian was about to point out that he never technically said yes before he noticed the what Bard was holding.
“Bardroy, why the hell do you have pink unicorn plushie?” Sebastian asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Her name is Bubblegum!”
“It’s okay, Mister Sebastian! Bard said that real manly men love unicorns. Look! I have a yellow one! Her name is Yellow!” Finny said, proudly displaying Yellow.
Bard beamed with pride and patted Finny on the shoulder. Sebastian looked less than impressed.
“How creative.” Sebastian deadpanned. Sebastian also took note of the purple owl Mey-Rin held and the teddy bear that laid on Tanaka’s head.
Sebastian sighed and shook his head.
Mey-Rin and Tanaka began to set up their respective sleeping areas while Finny was excitedly explaining Yellow’s backstory to Bard and Sebastian who looked like he wanted to jump out of the window to escape this hell. It was obvious Bard was the only of the two invested in the story as he was the only one asking questions and interacting.
The surrounding noise caused Ciel to begin to stir a bit. He wasn’t fully awake, if anything he was mostly still asleep, but he decided that his current position of his upper body resting on Sebastian and his lower body still resting on the bed was no longer comfortable. He tried to push himself off of the bed using his legs, but ended up moving less than an inch.
“My lord?” Sebastian questioned. The servants began to hush, worried they had disrupted the young master’s sleep. Ciel hummed in response and tugged on Sebastian’s tailcoat. Sebastian raised an eyebrow.
Ciel let out a huff and tugged on the tailcoat again.
“What is it?”
Ciel let out a unsatisfied hum. The servants began to throw out ideas as to what they thought Ciel may want.
“Maybe he’s cold?”
“Maybe he wants a unicorn too?”
“I think he wants a hug!”
“Ho, ho, ho, some things never change.”
The servants and Sebastian quickly turn their heads around.
“Look! It’s the real Tanaka!” Finny said with a bright smile.
“What do you mean?” Sebastian asked.
“The young master has always been susceptible to nightmares, even as a small toddler. I imagine they’ve only gotten worse due to past events.” Tanaka said, getting up to walk towards the pair.
“Whenever the young master didn’t possess the strength to seek out his parents, his father would answer his cries and hold him until morning. So, I assume,” Tanaka said, moving the young Earl to rest completely on Sebastian’s chest.
“This is what he is after.” Tanaka stated, before shrinking again and silence fell over the room.
Sebastian moved so his back was against the side of the bed and Ciel could have a clear view of the exit should he wake from another nightmare.
“Guess instead of being ‘one hell of a butler’ you’re actually one hell of a cradle!” Bard said with a smile.
“Bardroy, do you enjoy breathing?”
~~~
When Ciel woke up, his first thought was to go back to sleep. He was enveloped in a comforting warm and Sebastian had yet to throw the curtains open. Then, he heard snoring.
“Hmm… what...?” Ciel mumbled.
“Ah, good morning, my lord.” Sebastian said in a voice that was much too cheerful to be used during the morning. Nevertheless, Ciel returned the greeting out of reflex before turning towards the source of the noise.
“What’s going on?” Ciel asked with a yawn.
“Apparently, they couldn’t bare the thought of leaving you alone after last night. You gave us quite the scare.” Sebastian said.
“Even you?”
“Even me.”
Ciel studied Sebastian once more before shaking his head. It’s just a coincidence. Sebastian had never met his father, he had only seen paintings after he had taken his form. There was no way for Sebastian to have purposefully taken a form that could pass for his father’s twin or at the very least brother. Unless Sebastian had somehow managed to look through his memories, there was no way-…
Oh, that bastard!
“Hm? Do I have something on my face?”
Ciel blinked. Confronting the demon would only lead to an argument that Ciel would most likely loose. Besides, he didn’t have the energy to go back and forth right now. So, he settled with the best thing he could think of.
“No, it’s nothing. Looks like some more wrinkles have made themselves known.”
Sebastian said nothing but narrowed his eyes at the child in his arms. This would be frightening to anyone else, but the effect was lost on Ciel. Mainly because Sebastian barely wasted any time before glancing around the room, looking for somewhere to look at his reflection.
Ciel smirked and turned his attention back to the still sleeping servants.
“Why the hell is Bard sleeping with a pink unicorn?”

Summary: Chuuya hummed in disinterest, “I’ve never really wanted an extravagant proposal. In all honesty, I’ve always found them rather tacky. Why involve a venue full of strangers in a moment thats meant to centre on you and your lover, y’know?”
Oh dear lord, he’d brought out the L-word…
-
Or: Dazai has never had such a simple April Fools joke blow up in his face quite as badly as this one. Though perhaps that was because common sense had kept him from proposing as a prank before…
thinking about Chuuya getting an orange cat with a temperament similar to his— eg. it always hisses when Chuuya tries to cuddle with it but at night, when Chuuya's asleep, it goes and curls up next to him in bed ╥﹏╥
once Chuuya came home later than usual (bc work held him back), only to find his cat sitting at the front door extremely angry and Chuuya thought it was bc his cat was hungry but actually it was just worried and upset that its owner hadn't come home yet wahhh
also sometimes Chuuya brings his paperwork home and works really late into the night bc he wants to get it all done (especially if he's going away for a mission) and the moment he yawns his cat will jump onto the desk and flick off the light switch, sitting on his paperwork until he caves and goes to bed
Ciel has an enormous Sebastian bitter rabbit. Ciel had designed the plushie as a joke. He wanted to get on Sebastian’s nerves by portraying him as a harmless bunny. It had backfired when Sebastian went out and bought him one with the explanation, “Oh Bocchan, don’t you know that rabbits can be vicious and aggressive fighters? I am honored that you would represent my skills as such. Now you can have another protector for when I’m away. Isn’t that wonderful?” Ciel was not amused.
The next time Ciel ordered Sebastian away to uncover information, he found himself waking up from a nightmare. He was no stranger to nightmares, but when the nightmares are so graphic, it takes everything in him to not call for Sebastian. He doesn’t always succeed, but that night he did. He stopped Sebastian’s name from exiting his mouth with a mere second to spare. He focused on calming his heart and controlling his breathing. Had Sebastian been there, he would already be drink warm milk with honey. But Sebastian wasn’t there. Ciel looked around his room, assuring himself that he was safe, when he saw the plushie Sebastian had left next to his bed. Hesitantly, he reached for the stuffed rabbit and placed it next to him.
When Sebastian returned that morning, he prepared Ciel’s tea and breakfast before going to wake Ciel. Once Sebastian entered Ciel’s room, he saw Ciel cuddling with the oversized plushie. He couldn’t help the small smile that found its way onto his face.
