How tall is Lowell? And will there be any other characters, or is the only one we'll interact with in game?

Lowell is 5'7", and there will indeed be other characters! I was planning on releasing 2 designs this upcoming week :) the cast will be small, since a lot of the game WILL take place in Lowell's attic, but there are a few others you'll be interacting with that will have an impact on the game play.

Do you think people would like a slow burn murdersim?

idk if I'm the best person to ask abt what people like because to be honest my platform is fairly tiny as compared to a lot of bigger name indie devs even within the relatively small yan vn sphere and my interests and the things I make are a little abnormal just like, in general.

I know that the murdersim community is always happy to see more content and that I always like seeing fresh takes on things, and if it's something you're thinking about a lot and want to try your hand at or think would be a rewarding project to bring to fruition, go for it. that being said your project gaining a lot of exposure is never a guarantee and what works/ is likeable is always kinda hard to pin down exactly. the best advice I could give is that if you want to invest the time and energy into making something the best reasons you can have are that you like doing it. I hope that helps? I know I would be interested in playing a slow burn murdersim at the very least and if it's something that makes you happy then I hope you have the time and energy to create it :3

"Stay still, Doll~"

You tried not to squirm, suppressing a giggle as the ticklish feeling of the makeup brush swept across your cheeks. You'd been doing pretty well to stay still until now, but the urge to fidget was getting stronger and stronger.

Luckily that was the end of it, as Lowell sprayed some setting spray across your face you couldn't help but be relieved. If you'd had to sit still any longer you'd have went crazy for sure!

"And done!" Lowell held up a handheld mirror for you to look at yourself. "Waddya think?~"

You took the mirror, inspecting your makeup with a smile. "Hmm... I like it!" You said with a nod. "I've never tried a full face of makeup like this. It's interesting to see!" You batted your eyes to get a better look at the eyeshadow. "Ooh, the eyeshadow is super pretty!"

"Right?!" Lowell exclaimed excitedly. "That's my favorite part!" He seemed pleased at your praise, beaming as he took the mirror from you.

"So?" You asked expectantly, looking at him with a smile. "Don't I get a reward for sitting still so long?"

Lowell chuckled. "Of course!" He opened his arms wide, scooping you into a hug, being careful not to mess up the makeup he'd just applied.

You squeaked, laughing as you looped your arms around his neck as he spun you around a couple of times before sitting down with you in his lap.

You carefully rested your cheek against his chest, hearing his heartbeat.

The words bubbled out, threatening to spill, but you held them back.

Not yet.

It'd never been easy for you to talk about your feelings, and yet the more time you spent with Lowell, the man who'd kidnapped you, the harder it became for you to not tell him how you felt.

After all, what would it say about you if you told your kidnapper you'd fallen in love with him?

So, even if you knew how you felt, you'd deny it for as long as possible.

How would Lowell help doll work through a panic attack?

In the past when he's experienced panic attacks, he uses vagus nerve stimulation techniques- he'll encourage you to bite a lemon, squeeze a cold orange, jump around to loud music, use a weighted blanket, etc etc. Using physical tactics on your body to kinda hijack your brain back into being calm.

Keeping this anon since I’m still recovering in a way. Would Lowell be okay with an MC who’s a survivor of SA? It happened to me and I feel so horrible rn, if this makes you uncomfortable in any way please ignore this

I'm gonna be putting this under read more so that people can avoid any potential triggers before I go into detail, but the short answer is YES. CW of mentions of SA below the cut

Lowell would be more than okay with a survivor MC. He understands that people are not their traumas and that survivors are not at fault for what happened to them. He would be nothing but supportive and kind about it. Moreover, I, the game dev, am a survivor of both SA and CSA and I would NEVER write a character who would think any less of you or treat you badly for the things that you've been through.

I know how incredibly difficult it is to find feelings of safety and recovery after something like this, and if Lowell is a comforting character for you in the meantime, know that he would do just about ANYTHING to make sure you felt safe, comfortable, cared for, and grounded.

Is that makeup Lowell's wearing? He looks so cool! Would he be willing to do the MC's makeup if they asked? I'm absolutely awful at putting on any makeup on myself, and I have a really hard time sitting still (especially when someone's trying to put eyeshadow and eyeliner on me) but I think it'd still be fun! :D I used to play dress up with my friend where we'd choose each other's outfits and do each other's makeup, would Lowell like doing that?

He is wearing makeup! He does a full face with false eyelashes pretty much every day. He likes how colorful it is, and he looks a lot more... dead without it all. He also accentuates his mouth with blush at the corners to make it look more frog-like, and the color palette is based off of a type of poison dart frog. The man likes frogs 🤷‍♂️

He would be DELIGHTED to do your makeup and dress you up- he very much considers you a part of his doll collection and at first in the game he primarily treats you like one- tea parties, dress up, makeup, and all. The romance aspect of this game actually comes a little bit later on, and will be dependant on player interactions. You'll have the opportunity to play it as a romance, a friendship, or a straight up horror. Lowell's inclination to do those kinds of activities with you will stay consistent through all of those routes, though!

Ooh. Please please make more self-inserts. Not only is it fun you have no idea how much it can help you be kind to yourself. Have the hero of the franchise fall in love with you for what you think are your annoying quirks. Have the wisest man in that fictional world, tell others that your are the kindest and the smartest person he has ever met. Have the evil guy fall for you and revoke his evil ways cuz youre just that hot. Allow yourself to be loved by the fictional characters you look up to and in time you may also begin see how wonderful you really are.
