Love and War pt2
Spending spring break in Wayne manor had its ups and downs. Ups included a huge library in the south wing, delicious homemade meals every day, and the best water pressure youâd ever experienced. The downs included 8 hours of training daily, getting lost while trying to find a bathroom, and having to spend way too much time with your arch enemy.
Technically he's not your enemy. At least heâs not supposed to be. After the fight you had last week you couldnât be sure. Youâd had fights with Damian before but this felt different. Usually after a fight he'd sulk for a few hours but then it would go back to normal, but this time it didnât go back to normal. Damian had been avoiding you for almost 8 days.
You knew the fight ended too soon and you both had more to say but if he was going to act like a child and ignore you then you weren't going to stop him. You still had to patrol with him but it was considerably quieter. The manor was big enough for the both of you and after a few days you'd figured out his schedule and how to get around him. Tim let you train with him, so as long as you stayed on your side of the gym and Damian stayed on his you didn't have to interact with him at all.
It wasn't until the 4th day of break that you had to talk to him. Bruce had to go meet with the league for the day so training ended early. You had a couple hours before dinner and decided reading would be the best use of that time. You walked down one of the many hallways lazily dragging your hand along the wall until you reached a door. You couldn't remember exactly where you were but you were about 75% sure there was a couch in this room, so you pushed the door open.
Inside you found tall ceilings paired with dark wallpaper, a tall window with the thin white curtains pushed out of the way, and a couch. Actually it was three couches but after 4 days staying here you'd gotten used to the large number of furniture that was there for no reason.
The couches formed a square with the open side facing the window lined wall. The first two couches were empty but when you stepped farther inside the room you saw someone sitting on the third one. Of course the one room you picked to go into also happened to be the one room Damian was sitting in. He looked up from his sketchbook and immediately frowned.
There were two options in front of you. You could back out of the room and leave him be but then you'd be backing down from something that might not even turn into a fight which made you seem weak so really you were left with only one choice. You straighten your back and closed the door behind you, officially leaving you in a room alone with Damian for the first time since the fight. You walked over to the couch facing the windows head on and sat down on the side farthest from him. He watched you the whole time but you paid him no attention, instead you simply opened your book and began reading.
You felt his eyes leave your form and you let out a quiet breath. You heard a page turn and a pencil being dragged lightly across paper. It had been over a week but nothing seemed to be getting better between you and him. Patrols were a nightmare beforehand but now that he'd switched from constant criticism to almost no comments you found that you preferred the former.
Damian's pencil against the paper was the only sound in the room and yet the silence seemed so loud. You hated it. You hated having to avoid him all the time. You hated not being able to talk to him anymore. You hated how far away he felt even when he was right next to you. Above all you hated that you didn't hate him as much as you used to.
You never realized how much you talked to him until you didn't. It was a weird feeling to miss someone when you hadn't even known you cared about them. You honestly just wanted to apologize and let things get back to normal but as you sat there staring at your book you couldn't bring yourself to say anything.
After three to many nightmares where Damian got hurt, you finally realized how badly you needed him back. So you took a deep breath, swallowed your pride, opened your mouth, and prayed to god that something would come out.
"Look-"
"Damian-" you both spoke at the same time. "Sorry, you go first." You apologized.
"No you can go first." He replied almost nervously. That couldn't be right, he never got nervous.
"Uh I was just going to say, well i've been thinking lately,"
"You?" He asked sarcastically.
"Oh haha really funny. Will you just listen for a goddamn second." He was not making this easy. "I know we haven't been talking much ever since, well you know and uhh." You couldn't find the right way to word it. You were still too stubborn to outright apologize but you knew he would never say sorry unprompted. "You've just seemed... off, lately and if it has something to do with me-"
"It doesn't." He cut you off. "I'm not 'off' and even if I was you definitely wouldn't be the cause." His expression was blank but calculated.
"Well jeez you don't have to be so rude about it." You sneered back at him. "What were you trying to say anyway." So much for your apology.
"I've convinced father to change our partners." His voice was flat and he seemed bored with the conversation.
"You what?" You stood up. You couldn't believe he actually did that without talking to you first.
He stood up as well and was a few inches higher than you. "We don't work well together, you can't tell me you don't agree."
"I don't! We've been a great team! Remember the Penguin pen raid or Mr Freeze's death ray thingy." you exaggerated your point by waving our hands through the air. "We stopped those. Together. You can't just go around changing things without asking me first!" You were fuming.
"Sure I can! We only stopped those villains because of what I did, you just got in the way." he pointed at you.
Here we go again, the blame game. The endless cycle of 'he did this she did that'. You were so sick of it. "That's bullshit and you know it. I can hold my own on the field just as well as you can. And you know what! I don't even want to be your partner anymore."
"Neither do I! You can go play hero with someone else while I do all the real work. I never wanted you on the team in the first place!" He stared you down and if you weren't so fired up you'd probably be intimidated.
"God you're so annoying!â You threw your hands up in frustration. âYou think you're so great and no one can even come close to you but in reality you're exactly like the rest of us!"
What were you doing? This wasn't what you wanted. You wanted to apologize and make things right but now here you were screaming at him again. You almost couldn't help it. Fighting him gave you a sort of rush that you craved. It was like a drug and you were addicted to the pain. You didn't want to fight him but it was the closest thing to a conversation you'd had in over a week and at this point it was enough to satisfy your need.
"I'm going to prove that i'm better than you. I'll do it on my own too!" You told him.
"Go ahead and try! You can do whatever you want because I don't care about you anymore."
You stepped back, stood as tall as you could without going on your tiptoes and took a breath. "I'm starting to think you never did." You said calmly, it seemed to catch him off guard and he didn't retaliate. You grabbed your book and turned towards the door. Dick was standing there, completely still and staring at you and Damian.
"Woah." He said awkwardly. He clearly didn't know how to handle the situation he'd just stumbled on.
You pushed past him and into the hallway. Tears were building up in the corners of your eyes so you had to move fast, the last thing you needed right now was for them to see you cry.Â
Damian watched you walk out before turning around and groaning. "I can't believe her," he muttered to himself. "I'm starting to think you never did. That doesn't even make sense."
"Because... you do care about her?" Dick asked. It probably wasn't the best choice of words.
Damian looked back at him with an almost offended expression. "That's ridiculous! I don't care about her, that was basically the whole point of our conversation."
"Was that a conversation? The part of that 'conversation' I saw seemed more like her yelling at you and then you... yelling back." He stated the obvious.
"That was completely her fault," Damian defended. He seemed angry but it wasn't his usual kind. Usually it was directed at someone or something and usually that thing would get acquainted with his katana but this time he was mad at himself and he couldn't understand why. "I don't care about her." He repeated quietly almost trying to remind himself more than anything.
You spent the rest of the day hiding in the guest room. You planned on staying there forever and letting yourself fade out of existence but the universe had other plans. 3 hours, 5 episodes of your favorite show, and a nest made of blankets later you got a call from Tim asking you to come to the cave.
He didn't tell you why he needed you, he just said to meet him in the lower level of the cave so when you got there you were very surprised to find him and Damian standing in the hallway. You groaned internally and considered turning around and just walking away but Tim spotted you before you could. Damian's back was to you so he didn't know who it was until he turned around and you saw his face fall.
'Nice to see you too asshole' You thought to yourself, walking over to stand near him but still keeping your distance. "What did you need?" You asked, wanting to get out of there as soon as humanly possible. You kept your eyes ahead trying not to look at Damian and you had the feeling he was doing the same.
The entire mood of the dimly lit hallway had shifted from the moment you locked eyes with him and the tension was noticeable. Tim looked between the two of you before clearing his throat and bringing the attention back to him. "I actually don't need anything."
"So then why did you call telling me to come down here?" Damian asked, clearly annoyed that Tim was wasting his time.
Tim smirked in response and opened the door before Jason, who was behind you apparently, pushed you both into the room before either of you could react. You landed on top of Damian with a grunt. Once you realized you were on top of him you felt your cheeks turn red and you stood up quickly. You could have sworn you saw the slightest bit of a blush on him but you were too preoccupied with the now locked door to think about too much.
"Ok love birds here's the deal, you're petty hormone fueled fighting is driving us crazy and now we're doing something about it." Jason told you from the other side of the small glass window. "We said you were gonna lock you in a room until you figured out how to get along and now we're following through." he smirked.
"I swear to god if you lock me in this room with him,"Â you motioned towards Damian, "I will drop kick you into the sun."
"If you let us out now maybe I won't kill you," Damian threatened alongside you.
"Maybe if youâd learned to talk to each other like normal people you wouldnât be here in the first place," Tim said. "We'll be back after patrol so you've got about," he looked at his watchless wrist "4ish hours. Have fun." And with that they both walked away.
"DON'T YOU DARE WALK AWA- and they're gone. Dammit." You cursed and hit the steel door which hurt a lot more than you thought it would. "Shit," You shook your hand.
"Well that was just stupid," Damian scoffed at you, taking your hand to examine it. He always did that sort of thing on patrol so you didn't pull away or even really register what he was doing.
"Oh i'm sorry, is my frustration not smart enough for you?" you sneered back. "What even is this place anyway," You looked around the small dark room, determined to not look him in the eyes.
"A containment cell for metas, we haven't used it for a while so the power blockers are probably turned off." he told you before releasing your hand. "You definitely bruised it but you'll be fine."
You reluctantly thanked him and turned back to the door to see if you could get it open somehow. "Ok so how do we get out?"
"We don't."
You flipped around, surprised to hear him give up without even trying. "You're kidding right? There's gotta be some way out of here. We're superheros, a few walls can't hold us,â you exclaimed. âCan't you use those ninja skills you're so proud of and like... kick it down, or something?" You watched him walk to the back of the small cell and sit down on the floor.
"No," he replied simply. "This room was built to hold the most dangerous people in Gotham and I don't know if you've noticed but we don't have any of our gear." He glared at you and you rolled your eyes.
"So we're just supposed to wait here until they get back? We can't just sit here all night," You tried to convince him to do... anything really.
"Well if you're so keen on getting out then let's hear your genius plan," He leaned forward with all the smugness of billionaires son, daring you to say something. "That's what I thought. Now will you please be quiet, I can't even hear myself losing my will to live."
"Fine whatever we'll just stay here in complete silence," You muttered sarcastically under your breath. Damian remained quiet as you started pacing back and forth but you could tell he was watching you.
After pacing for about 30 minutes you realized how tired you were from training so hard the past couple of days and sat down in the corner. You spent so much time over the last week worrying about Damian that you hadn't let yourself relax long enough to get any real rest. The little sleep you did manage to get mostly turned to nightmares.
At first you didn't even realize you were asleep. It all looked real enough except for the fact that you'd somehow been transported to a rooftop. You scanned your surroundings but everything was just slightly out of focus so you couldn't tell exactly where you were. When you turned around you saw him. Damian was there, and behind him was a shadowy sort of silhouette.
The shadow raised a knife and you realized what was happening. You tried to warn him, you tried to scream or yell or move but it was no use. The knife plunged into Damians back and you were helpless to stop it. You felt the pain he felt, you felt the blade slice through you. Finally you could move again but it was too late. The shadow disappeared but you didn't care about it, all you wanted to do was get to Damian. You ran forward but it was like running through water, your body moved in slow motion and you watched the blood start to pool underneath him.
Suddenly you were falling. Damian was gone, the roof was gone, everything was gone, it was just you and a black abyss trying to swallow you up. You screamed again but no noise came out, it was like all the air was being sucked from your lungs. It was silent and dark and empty nothingness until you saw a faint light. Then you heard something, your name being repeated, someone calling you and then you were pulled out of the void.
You shot up and gasped for air and frantically looked around but your eyes hadn't adjusted to the light yet. You heard a familiar soothing voice pulled you farther out of your trance.
"Hey hey hey, it's ok i'm here." The voice was calm and concerned at the same time. "It's just me ok, you're safe," Rough hands gently turned your head and the first thing you saw clearly was a pair of worried green eyes. You're breathing slowed and you're heart nearly skipped a beat.
Wrapping your arms around his chest you pulled him closer. He hesitated for a moment before folding you into his embrace. It was soft and delicate and it seemed like he was scared of holding you too tightly. Neither of you said anything else, you just sat there on the floor of a meta containment cell in each other's arms.
Time stood still and you finally admitted the truth to yourself. The real reason you hated Damian was because you loved him.

Part 1/?: next part- coming soon (i swear)
Also in desperate need of requests:) info on that here
Being a superhero can be difficult. It can be even more difficult when your partner is an absolute dick. So for you being a superhero was very difficult.
You didnât choose to be partners with Robin but as the newest Batgirl you found it came with the job. It turns out Robin was just as unhappy with this predicament as you were.
You tried to be friends with him at first, but after about 2 weeks you realized you werenât getting anywhere and gave up. After you had proved your skills to Damian he stopped complaining about being partnered with you on patrol but he didnât stop criticizing your every move. His comments led to more than one petty argument.
He was an asshole to you whenever he got the chance but somehow your over romantic heart decided the shit eating grin that he wore whenever he beat you at sparring was very attractive. You couldnât help but think he secretly wasnât so mean. Once when you got hurt on the field and he had to bandage you up before taking you back to the cave, he seemed worried and it was almost like he cared about your well being.
You remembered taking on 3 thugs and how the last one pulled a knife out of nowhere. He thrust it towards you before you could react and it sliced across your forearm. You knocked him out with a swift kick and turned to see how your partner was doing, almost forgetting about the cut. It wasnât a terrible wound but the blood made it look a lot worse than it was.
Damian punched the last man, successfully knocking him out before looking over at you. You heard sirens in the distance and he motioned for you to follow him to the roof. You remembered the climb being painful but you didnât want him to lecture you about being weak so you sucked it up and kept climbing.
When you had reached the roof he was already listening to the police scanner, looking for your next hit. You had walked over to him and sat on the ledge with your back facing the street. You examined the cut and tried not to make any noise. Thatâs when Damian looked up and saw your blood covered arm. You were surprised at how quickly he rushed to your side and pulled out a bat-aid kit.
âWhen did this happen? Why didnât you tell me you were hurt? How deep is it?â He had bombarded you with questions while wiping off some of the blood.
âIâm fine, itâs nothing. Just a scratch.â You smiled unconvincingly and winced when his gloved hand passed over a particularly painful spot.
âDonât lie to me. I can tell when you are.â He didnât look up at you or stop but he was more gentle after that.
âOh? Whatâs this? Could it be the one and only Robin is worried, about me?â You had exaggerated shock in your voice.
âTT of course not,â He replied stiffly, finally glaring up at you. âIâd just prefer it if my partner didnât pass out from blood loss.â You remembered the pain of the cleaning alcohol on the fresh wound. You had hissed slightly at the feeling but sucked in your breath to avoid any further embarrassment. âThere, youâll live but from now you don't hide things from me. Got it?â
That was almost 2 weeks ago but the memory was still clear in your mind. Ever since then you noticed Damian checking on you more often. For a short time you thought this was finally the beginning of a possible friendship but eventually brushed it off as him thinking you were weak or something like that. It seemed a bit more on brand after all.
Today had been pretty shitty to begin with so patrol was pretty much a guaranteed nightmare. Your bus was late so you didnât get home on time and then you had a mountain of homework to do. Studying had been pushed to the back burner ever since you had started officially working with Batman so you had fallen a bit behind on schoolwork and it was all catching up to you.
Damian had some intel about a drug deal so you both decided to have a mini stakeout and see who showed up. He told you to be there by 10 but you lost track of time and didnât end up arriving until well after 10:30. This provoked a very boring lecture about time management that you were definitely not in the mood for.
The drug deal went down as expected and you and Damian jumped in to round up the bad guys. It was going fine until one of them slipped past you and managed to escape.
âDamnit!â You exclaimed as the back door swung shut. âIâll get him!â
âNo, don't!â Damian yelled after you but you didnât listen. You heard him curse and something that sounded like a batarang hitting a wall before the noises blended together and eventually faded.
The man was fast and you were about a block away from the fight when you finally caught up to him. âGotcha now, asshole.â You smirked as he was backed into an alleyway with no way out. He smirked back and knocked on the door next to him. 11 more thugs emerged and you realized just how bad you had messed up. âOh youâve got to be shitting me.â You muttered under your breath while backing up ever so slightly.
One of the men spoke up. âAw whatâs the matter little girl? Donât tell me youâre scared.â He laughed and others joined him. You let him take a few more steps so he was within your range before grabbing a batarang from your belt and throwing it at him.
He was caught by surprise and had to swerve to avoid the sharp tool. This was exactly the reaction youâd hoped for and gave you time to lunge and land a solid hit to his stomach. He fell back into two of the thugs with a grunt. A man a bit more to your left shouted some profanities at you before charging. You dodged and he ran right into a dumpster, effectively knocking him out.
â2 down, 10 more to go. So whoâs next?â You said boldly, despite the odds being very much not in your favor. 3 men launched at you from different angles and you dodged but the move forced you deeper into the alley so there were now 4 men in between you and the exit. âWell shit.â Thatâs when your knight in shining armor showed up to save the day.
âWell shit times 2,â You muttered.
Damian hit harder than normal and you knew it was because youâd run off without him. Usually heâd wait until you got back to the cave to lecture you but today he didnât seem as patient. âI told you!â Punch. âNot to!â Dodge. âChase him!â Kick.
âThis might come as a shock,â You grabbed an old book from the trash and threw it at someone. âBut I donât take orders from you.â
âYou donât take orders from anyone apparently.â He sounded angry. Really angry. He started ranting something in a language you didn't quite understand but you had a pretty good guess as to what he was saying.
It took about 10 minutes to knock out the rest of the men and tie them to a street lamp. You had alerted the police and could hear sirens in the distance which meant it was time to go. You turned around and saw Damian was already climbing to the rooftop.
âWhere are we going now?â You asked once youâd reached the rooftop as well. You were hoping to brawl with a few more thugs before the night was over. Fighting always helped you relieve stress and right now you have a lot of stress to relieve.
âWeâre going to the cave.â He replied simply walking fast and not stopping to let you catch up.
âWhat? Already? Itâs only like midnight. Iâm sure thereâs some more douche bags that need to be caught.â You knew he was mad at you but cutting a patrol short? Heâd only ever done that once or twice in extreme situations. He didnât respond but instead jumped down off the roof into an alleyway where his motorcycle was waiting. You assumed heâd called it there while he was walking.
âGo back to the cave. Iâll meet you there.â He finally spoke, before speeding off and leaving you alone.
You watched his silhouette disappear down the street and let out a loud groan. âGreat, now I get chewed out for trying to stop the bad guy,â You grumbled. âThis is definitely not what I wanted to do tonight.â You called your motorcycle to you and it showed up a minute later. You hoped on and headed to the cave, already trying to think up good arguments for the conversation that you knew was coming.
Once you pulled into the cave you parked your bike. You saw Damian was leaning his back against the medical table and he had his arms crossed over his chest. His mask was off and you could see the anger in his eyes as they watched you hop off your bike. Dick, Jason, and Tim were standing nearby but you didnât pay them much attention. You walked up to Damian who glared at you but didnât say anything
Youâd done the whole âSilently stare each other down until the other person says somethingâ thing a few times but today you didnât have the patience to try and wait him out. You took off your mask so that your eyes could met his. âLook, I know youâre a little upset with me-â
âA little upset?â He cut you off, pushing himself off the table and taking a step towards you âIâm pissed!â 3 heads from across the room turned towards the brewing fight. âI specifically told you not to chase him.â
âThatâs why you ended the patrol?â You asked in disbelief. âBecause I did something you didnât want me to?â
âYou ran off on your own. Thatâs not ok.â He stepped closer again and you were forced to tilt your head up slightly to maintain his gaze.
âOh please you run off on your âLone wolfâ bullshit all the time.â You saw the other boys getting up out of the corner of your eye but still didnât acknowledge them.
âThatâs different.â He seethed with anger and you still couldnât understand why but at this point it didnât matter to you. You had bottled up almost all your harsh feelings towards him and it was finally spilling over. All the times heâd sneered at you or told you to give up on being a hero were flooding back and fueling the anger in the pit of your stomach.
âBecause youâre better than me right? Because youâre the one and only Damian Wayne, son of Batman and the greatest goddamn Robin to walk the earth!â You raised your voice letting sarcasm steer your words. âYouâre mad because I donât take orders from you and your over sized ego canât handle that.â
âIâm mad because I canât trust you!â He shot back, raising his voice to match yours. âWeâre supposed to be partners but youâre too stubborn and immature to listen to me. This isnât just about tonight and you know it. I canât do what needs to be done if Iâm too busy trying to make sure you donât get killed.â There it was again. The ghost of concern buried deep under his tone.
âI can take care of myself just fine. I donât need you to save me like I'm some damsels in distress.â
âReally? Because I had to save you tonight!â This made you furious. You went to respond but a black and blue gloved hand had already found its way over your mouth. You hadnât even realized how close you were to Damian until Dick was pushing the two of you apart. And you two had been pretty damn close.
âThatâs enough!â Dick exclaimed, sounding very annoyed. âYouâre supposed to be a team and instead you two have been at each otherâs throats ever since you were paired up.â
âItâs all her fault-â Damian started but was cut off.
âFirst of all, I'm not done yet. Secondly youâre both to blame,â Dick said pointedly. âWeâre all sick of your bickering so if you donât figure out how to get along weâre taking matters into our own hands.â he nodded at Jason and Tim.
Tim was sitting on the table that Damian had been leaning on when you arrived and he, unsurprisingly, had a cup of coffee in his hand. Jason was standing next to Tim with a look of slight amusement.
âWhat the hell does that even mean?â
âAt best,âJason spoke up. âwe get you couples therapy. At worst, we lock you two in a room and take bets on who kills who.â
âThatâs not true,â Dick interrupted again. âWeâre not taking any bets,â he corrected.
âYouâre not but me and Tim already have a pot going. Alfreds in on it and I'm pretty sure Bruce wants to join too.â Jason looked at you and winked. âMy moneys on you sweetheart.â
A/n: and so it begins dun dun duuunnnn anywho if youâd like to be tagged in up coming parts reply here i should be posting updates regularly and i wouldnât want anyone to miss them :)
Heyo! I heard you were open for requests, so I thought if I can ask for a fluffly prompt of 18? Like Jon kent x batsis? ( I noticed this dude don't get much love at all.) Maybe it has like a tiny (big) crush on batsis, and accidentally ends up following her. But don't rush your self, I know you got alot to do. I'll wait! Ty! (This is alot of reading, sorry.)
Pairing: Jon Kent x Fem!reader
Prompts: Prompt list 18-âCare to explain why youâve been following me for 6 blocks?â (Apparently âcare to explain *inster text here*â is a common prompt theme on my list)
Summary: Jon Kent meets the one and only batsis (thatâs you) and being the idiot he is, falls madly in love... naturally.
A/n: Ok so this took a while and i didnât like where it was going for a while but after some editing i actually really like how this turned out! (Also sorry this took so long life hit me like bitch this past week) And Jon and the reader are about 15 16 ish here which makes damian 19ish. Masterlist
Word count: 1.5k itâs not a super long thing but iâm pretty pleased with that number
Code: y/n=your name
Jon Kent floated in a small circle about 4 feet above the ground, trying his best not to fall asleep. He had been watching Damian watch security footage on the batcomputer for 30 minutes and he was bored out of his mind.
âWhat are you even looking for?â Jon asked, letting himself land and walking over to the computer.
âProof.â Damian replied, too focused on the tape to give more than a one word answer.
âRight, of course the proof,â Jon nodded his head before pausing awkwardly.
Damian sighed and paused the video. âYou have no idea what iâm talking about.â
âNope.â
âAnd youâre extremely bored.â
âYup.â Jon rocked back on his heels, dragging out the Y sound.
âFine then, you can look around the cave but donât touch anything. Got it?â Damin said sternly, knowing that if he didnât give Jon something to do he'd start asking questions nonstop.
âReally! I can go explore by myself!â He exclaimed, instantly more energetic. âI promise i wonât break anything!â He called flying swiftly out of the room before Damian could change his mind.
He walked down a random hallway looking at the various souvenirs on the walls. He heard some grunting and the sound metal against metal coming from a room down the hall. He made his way toward the sound using his super hearing to try and figure out who it was.
âThat was so not fair!â An unknown female voice exclaimed.
âTechnically thatâs not stated in the rules.â a smug voice shot back. Jon recognized it to be Timâs but he still didnât know who the other person was. He kept walking towards the sound until he found a large open room with weapons on the walls and mats on the floor.
In the middle of the room he saw two people holding metal bow staffs and walking around each other.
âWell it was implied.â The girl said before charging Tim. She swung at his left but he blocked and twirled the bow staff around to hit her in the side. She stumbled back but quickly regained her balance and came at him again, this time faking a hit to the right before sweeping his legs out from under him so he landed on his back. His staff rolled away and it was very clear that he had lost that fight.
âYES!â The girl cheered âI win and you owe me 20 bucks.â She boasted in a sing-song voice, reaching out her hand to help Tim up.
âYeah yeah I get it.â Tim grabbed her hand and hoisted himself up sounding annoyed at his defeat. The girl turned around and walked towards the bench where a plastic half empty water bottle sat. That was when Jon saw her face for the first time, that was also when she noticed Jon.
âOh hey Superboy.â She said, sounding slightly confused as to why the Metropolis hero would be in the batcave.
âJon?â Tim asked, turning towards him. âWhat are you doing here?â He smiled and walked over to rest his elbow on the girl's shoulder.
âHi sorry i didnât mean to bother you I was just uh exploring.â Jon said, semi awkwardly. âDamianâs doing some research on the computer and I guess he didnât want me distracting him.â He pointed sheepishly towards the room where Damian was still watching security tapes.
The girl laughed and shrugged Tims arm away. âWell definitely donât take that personally. Damianâs not really one for conversation. Iâm y/n by the way.â
He remembered Damian mentioning her here and there but heâd never met her before. âIâm Jon, but you know that already.â
She laughed again which made him smile. âWell Jon itâs nice to meet you.â
âThere you are.â Damian rounded the corner. âI have the proof but we need to hurry if weâre going to get there in time.â
âYou better get going before Damian pulls a kryptonite katana on you.â y/n joked waving over at the very grumpy looking teenager.
âYeah,â Jon laughed. âWait? Does he really have one of those?â his smile was replaced with slight concern for his own safety.
âSuperboy. Letâs go.â Damian sounded impatient, although he always sounded like that.
âSorry iâm coming.â Jon began flying over to him. âBye y/n!â he called before turning the corner and disappearing.
âBye Jon.â Y/n leaned on the door frame and watched him fly off, a small smile on her face.
âUmm what was that?â Tim asked a very confused look on his face.
âWhat was what?â she turned around
âOh I don't know, maybe the whole âoh hi iâm y/n nice to meet youâ thing?â
âOk I know you donât talk to people very often but typically when you meet someone new you introduce yourself.â
âWell your starry eyed stare might have been a bit too much.â
âStarry eyed?â she scoffed in response âI was in no way starry eyed.â
âUh huh sure.â He said in an over-protective-older-brother voice.
âShut up.â y/n tossed a bow staff to Tim and got into a fighting stance with her own.

After a mission went wrong, Damian demanded Jon train in the cave at least twice a week to make him, in Damians words âSomewhat competent on the fieldâ. That meant Jon would spend more time in the cave and saw more of y/n.
Whenever Jon and y/n got a chance to talk it felt like theyâd known each other for their whole lives. They had inside jokes and about 2/3âs of a secrets code memorized. Sometimes they would just sit next to each other, completely comfortable in the silent company. Jonâs heart started to beat faster when she was around and his cheeks would heat up when she smiled at him.
He got distracted whenever she came into the training room which resulted in a very hard kick to the stomach on more than one occasion. One day while Jon was on his way home from the manor, he spotted y/n walking swiftly across a rooftop. He hadnât seen in the cave that day but Damian said she was at a friends house.
His exact words were âSheâs at her friends house studying, now if youâre done being completely in love with my sister can we run the training again?â
Of course Jon responded by saying âI am not in love with her!â but it was clear that Damian didnât buy that and at this point Jon wasnât sure he believed it either.
âWhat is she doing out?â he thought while silently ducking behind a nearby billboard. Jon let her get about three rooftops away and used his super senses to keep track of her. She turned left, then left again, then right, then another left, and finally stopped on top of a random building.
Y/n turned to look at the city and let out a sigh. âYou know,â she spoke softly with a hint of a smirk in her voice. âFor someone with Superpowers youâre shit at staying hidden.â
âBustedâ
âHow could you possibly have seen me?â Jon came out from his apparently not so good hiding place and landed a few feet away from her on the roof. âI was in super stealth mode.â
âWell darling Jon i was raised by Batman. Noticing things is kinda, well my thing.â She laughed. âNow, care to explain why youâve been following me for 6 blocks?â
âW-well i have a perfectly reasonable explanation for that and it is because,â he said slowly trying to come up with a good excuse as to why heâd been following her. The truth was he didnât know why heâd followed her. Although he had a sneaking suspicion it had to do with his not so small crush.
âItâs because- Hey wait a second youâre not even supposed to be out here.â Jon cut himself off by changing the subject. âDidnât Batman like, ban you from being a crime fighter?â
âWhat Batman doesn't know wonât hurt him.â She walked over to him so they were now about 2 feet apart.
âHeâs Batman! He knows everything!â Jon exclaimed as if it was obvious.
âWell iâm not going to tell him.â She paused leaning closer to Jon so they were mere inches away from each other. His heart speed up and he felt his cheeks turn pink from how close they were. âAre you going to tell him?â
âN-no?â It sounded more like a question then an answer but it was good enough for y/n.
âGreat!â She leaned away again, her smile returning. âNow that iâve confirmed you wonât be snitching on me, we can go get some food. I am starving and thereâs a great taco truck just around the corner that makes the best nachos. That is if you want to?â
âWant to? Yeah iâd love to!â He smiled happily at the idea.
âPerfect, then itâs a date.â
I will not apologize for who TOH has made me

Old Friends and Broken Trust
Prologue
It was dark in Gotham, though, if you asked y/n it was always dark in Gotham. Sheâd grown up in the darkness that surrounded the city. She knew how it changed everyone, everyone but Tim. At least thatâs what she thought. He had always been different from the other people in the city. He wasnât out to get something or looking for revenge. Thatâs what y/n liked best about him and thatâs why she agreed to help him.
At first it was just a game. The two of them would follow Batman around, take out a burglar here and there if they could. Everything was fine until the big bat himself decided to step in. He offered to train Tim into the next Robin, he offered to train y/n too. After all, what's Robin without a Batgirl? But she couldnât say yes, not when she knew why he fought. He didnât just do it to help Gotham. He did it for revenge, to get back at the city for some unknown trauma instead of getting a therapist like any sane person. Not to mention how he treated his sidekicks. He replaced them whenever it was convenient. God only knows what happened to the first Robin but rumors spread after the second Robin disappeared. They said he died, they said he suffered.
After begging Tim to reconsider and eventually realizing he wouldnât, y/n ran away. She couldnât watch him devote himself to a man who wouldnât care what happened to him. So, she bought a one way ticket to Bludhaven and she left. The months she spent fighting crime with Tim stuck with her so she continued her work as y/h/n. Turns out the local crime rings and gangs werenât a huge fan of the newest hero.

*Present day*
The living room window to Tim Drake's apartment slid up and he stepped inside. His patrol had ended and his Red Robin suit was tucked neatly into the backpack he wore. He closed the window and walked across the space towards his bedroom. He opened the door and let the backpack fall by his feet.
The first thing Tim noticed in the dark room was the box of files, his box of files, sitting on the bed. The next thing he saw was y/n. She didnât look up, instead kept her eyes glued to the file she was reading. He wordlessly made his way over to the desk and sat down facing away from her.
âYouâve been busy.â Y/n turned the page. Her voice was calm and even and familiar. God, how heâd missed that voice.
âCare to explain where youâve been?â he asked, pulling himself out of his trance and looking over his shoulder at her.
âTo you?â she scoffed, tilting her head up so their eyes met for the first time in nearly two years âNo.â
Their eyes locked and Tim was locked in place. He remembered typing her name into the bat computer nearly a year ago but stopping himself before he could hit search. âWell then do you want to explain what youâre doing in my bed.â
âCanât i just visit an old friend?â She closed the file and set it on the bed next to her.
âIs that what we are? Old friends?â He shot back. It was a cheap hit and he knew it would hurt her but at this point he didnât care. âWhat do you want, for real this time.â he demanded
âFine, weâll skip the small talk. I need some information and a friend of ours told me that was your specialty.â
âReally, you disappear for two years and now you're back because you need something?â He stood up, glaring at her.
âYou couldâve found me! I wasnât exactly hiding and we both know Bruce has the tech.â y/n copied his movement so they were both standing.
At 14 their heights matched but now there was a couple inches difference leaving Y/n looking up and Tim looking slightly down.
âYou shouldnât have left! We were a team!â Tim raised his voice letting his anger take over.
âYou ended this team when you decided to work with Batman!â She shouted back
âWhy the hell are you so against him?â
âBecause he doesnât care about you Tim!â
âYou're wrong.â
âAm I? Or are you too awestruck to see it.â
âLeave. Leave right nowâ He turned away from her. There was a pause, then footsteps then a door opening slightly.
âI shouldnât have disappeared,â she took a breath. âBut you left me first. I trusted you.â
âAnd I needed you!â He cut her off. âIâm not like the other Robins. I have a family, but I needed you.â
Silence.
âI needed you too Tim.â y/n closed the door and stepped closer to him. âI still need you.â She reached out, taking his hand. He tensed and looked down at their now entwined fingers. âI-â Tim cut her off by pulling her into a kiss. It was soft and gentle and he felt her melt into his touch, deepening the kiss.
Timâs arms reached around y/nâs waist pulling her closer as she moved her hands to rest on his shoulders. She broke away from the kiss gasping for air and resting her forehead on his.
âTook you long enough.â She smiled slightly, before kissing him again.
