Old Friends and Broken Trust
Prologue
It was dark in Gotham, though, if you asked y/n it was always dark in Gotham. She’d grown up in the darkness that surrounded the city. She knew how it changed everyone, everyone but Tim. At least that’s what she thought. He had always been different from the other people in the city. He wasn’t out to get something or looking for revenge. That’s what y/n liked best about him and that’s why she agreed to help him.
At first it was just a game. The two of them would follow Batman around, take out a burglar here and there if they could. Everything was fine until the big bat himself decided to step in. He offered to train Tim into the next Robin, he offered to train y/n too. After all, what's Robin without a Batgirl? But she couldn’t say yes, not when she knew why he fought. He didn’t just do it to help Gotham. He did it for revenge, to get back at the city for some unknown trauma instead of getting a therapist like any sane person. Not to mention how he treated his sidekicks. He replaced them whenever it was convenient. God only knows what happened to the first Robin but rumors spread after the second Robin disappeared. They said he died, they said he suffered.
After begging Tim to reconsider and eventually realizing he wouldn’t, y/n ran away. She couldn’t watch him devote himself to a man who wouldn’t care what happened to him. So, she bought a one way ticket to Bludhaven and she left. The months she spent fighting crime with Tim stuck with her so she continued her work as y/h/n. Turns out the local crime rings and gangs weren’t a huge fan of the newest hero.

*Present day*
The living room window to Tim Drake's apartment slid up and he stepped inside. His patrol had ended and his Red Robin suit was tucked neatly into the backpack he wore. He closed the window and walked across the space towards his bedroom. He opened the door and let the backpack fall by his feet.
The first thing Tim noticed in the dark room was the box of files, his box of files, sitting on the bed. The next thing he saw was y/n. She didn’t look up, instead kept her eyes glued to the file she was reading. He wordlessly made his way over to the desk and sat down facing away from her.
“You’ve been busy.” Y/n turned the page. Her voice was calm and even and familiar. God, how he’d missed that voice.
“Care to explain where you’ve been?” he asked, pulling himself out of his trance and looking over his shoulder at her.
“To you?” she scoffed, tilting her head up so their eyes met for the first time in nearly two years “No.”
Their eyes locked and Tim was locked in place. He remembered typing her name into the bat computer nearly a year ago but stopping himself before he could hit search. “Well then do you want to explain what you’re doing in my bed.”
“Can’t i just visit an old friend?” She closed the file and set it on the bed next to her.
“Is that what we are? Old friends?” He shot back. It was a cheap hit and he knew it would hurt her but at this point he didn’t care. “What do you want, for real this time.” he demanded
“Fine, we’ll skip the small talk. I need some information and a friend of ours told me that was your specialty.”
“Really, you disappear for two years and now you're back because you need something?” He stood up, glaring at her.
“You could’ve found me! I wasn’t exactly hiding and we both know Bruce has the tech.” y/n copied his movement so they were both standing.
At 14 their heights matched but now there was a couple inches difference leaving Y/n looking up and Tim looking slightly down.
“You shouldn’t have left! We were a team!” Tim raised his voice letting his anger take over.
“You ended this team when you decided to work with Batman!” She shouted back
“Why the hell are you so against him?”
“Because he doesn’t care about you Tim!”
“You're wrong.”
“Am I? Or are you too awestruck to see it.”
“Leave. Leave right now” He turned away from her. There was a pause, then footsteps then a door opening slightly.
“I shouldn’t have disappeared,” she took a breath. “But you left me first. I trusted you.”
“And I needed you!” He cut her off. “I’m not like the other Robins. I have a family, but I needed you.”
Silence.
“I needed you too Tim.” y/n closed the door and stepped closer to him. “I still need you.” She reached out, taking his hand. He tensed and looked down at their now entwined fingers. “I-” Tim cut her off by pulling her into a kiss. It was soft and gentle and he felt her melt into his touch, deepening the kiss.
Tim’s arms reached around y/n’s waist pulling her closer as she moved her hands to rest on his shoulders. She broke away from the kiss gasping for air and resting her forehead on his.
“Took you long enough.” She smiled slightly, before kissing him again.

Heyo! I heard you were open for requests, so I thought if I can ask for a fluffly prompt of 18? Like Jon kent x batsis? ( I noticed this dude don't get much love at all.) Maybe it has like a tiny (big) crush on batsis, and accidentally ends up following her. But don't rush your self, I know you got alot to do. I'll wait! Ty! (This is alot of reading, sorry.)
Pairing: Jon Kent x Fem!reader
Prompts: Prompt list 18-“Care to explain why you’ve been following me for 6 blocks?” (Apparently “care to explain *inster text here*” is a common prompt theme on my list)
Summary: Jon Kent meets the one and only batsis (that’s you) and being the idiot he is, falls madly in love... naturally.
A/n: Ok so this took a while and i didn’t like where it was going for a while but after some editing i actually really like how this turned out! (Also sorry this took so long life hit me like bitch this past week) And Jon and the reader are about 15 16 ish here which makes damian 19ish. Masterlist
Word count: 1.5k it’s not a super long thing but i’m pretty pleased with that number
Code: y/n=your name
Jon Kent floated in a small circle about 4 feet above the ground, trying his best not to fall asleep. He had been watching Damian watch security footage on the batcomputer for 30 minutes and he was bored out of his mind.
“What are you even looking for?” Jon asked, letting himself land and walking over to the computer.
“Proof.” Damian replied, too focused on the tape to give more than a one word answer.
“Right, of course the proof,” Jon nodded his head before pausing awkwardly.
Damian sighed and paused the video. “You have no idea what i’m talking about.”
“Nope.”
“And you’re extremely bored.”
“Yup.” Jon rocked back on his heels, dragging out the Y sound.
“Fine then, you can look around the cave but don’t touch anything. Got it?” Damin said sternly, knowing that if he didn’t give Jon something to do he'd start asking questions nonstop.
“Really! I can go explore by myself!” He exclaimed, instantly more energetic. “I promise i won’t break anything!” He called flying swiftly out of the room before Damian could change his mind.
He walked down a random hallway looking at the various souvenirs on the walls. He heard some grunting and the sound metal against metal coming from a room down the hall. He made his way toward the sound using his super hearing to try and figure out who it was.
“That was so not fair!” An unknown female voice exclaimed.
“Technically that’s not stated in the rules.” a smug voice shot back. Jon recognized it to be Tim’s but he still didn’t know who the other person was. He kept walking towards the sound until he found a large open room with weapons on the walls and mats on the floor.
In the middle of the room he saw two people holding metal bow staffs and walking around each other.
“Well it was implied.” The girl said before charging Tim. She swung at his left but he blocked and twirled the bow staff around to hit her in the side. She stumbled back but quickly regained her balance and came at him again, this time faking a hit to the right before sweeping his legs out from under him so he landed on his back. His staff rolled away and it was very clear that he had lost that fight.
“YES!” The girl cheered “I win and you owe me 20 bucks.” She boasted in a sing-song voice, reaching out her hand to help Tim up.
“Yeah yeah I get it.” Tim grabbed her hand and hoisted himself up sounding annoyed at his defeat. The girl turned around and walked towards the bench where a plastic half empty water bottle sat. That was when Jon saw her face for the first time, that was also when she noticed Jon.
“Oh hey Superboy.” She said, sounding slightly confused as to why the Metropolis hero would be in the batcave.
“Jon?” Tim asked, turning towards him. “What are you doing here?” He smiled and walked over to rest his elbow on the girl's shoulder.
“Hi sorry i didn’t mean to bother you I was just uh exploring.” Jon said, semi awkwardly. “Damian’s doing some research on the computer and I guess he didn’t want me distracting him.” He pointed sheepishly towards the room where Damian was still watching security tapes.
The girl laughed and shrugged Tims arm away. “Well definitely don’t take that personally. Damian’s not really one for conversation. I’m y/n by the way.”
He remembered Damian mentioning her here and there but he’d never met her before. “I’m Jon, but you know that already.”
She laughed again which made him smile. “Well Jon it’s nice to meet you.”
“There you are.” Damian rounded the corner. “I have the proof but we need to hurry if we’re going to get there in time.”
“You better get going before Damian pulls a kryptonite katana on you.” y/n joked waving over at the very grumpy looking teenager.
“Yeah,” Jon laughed. “Wait? Does he really have one of those?” his smile was replaced with slight concern for his own safety.
“Superboy. Let’s go.” Damian sounded impatient, although he always sounded like that.
“Sorry i’m coming.” Jon began flying over to him. “Bye y/n!” he called before turning the corner and disappearing.
“Bye Jon.” Y/n leaned on the door frame and watched him fly off, a small smile on her face.
“Umm what was that?” Tim asked a very confused look on his face.
“What was what?” she turned around
“Oh I don't know, maybe the whole ‘oh hi i’m y/n nice to meet you’ thing?”
“Ok I know you don’t talk to people very often but typically when you meet someone new you introduce yourself.”
“Well your starry eyed stare might have been a bit too much.”
“Starry eyed?” she scoffed in response “I was in no way starry eyed.”
“Uh huh sure.” He said in an over-protective-older-brother voice.
“Shut up.” y/n tossed a bow staff to Tim and got into a fighting stance with her own.

After a mission went wrong, Damian demanded Jon train in the cave at least twice a week to make him, in Damians words “Somewhat competent on the field”. That meant Jon would spend more time in the cave and saw more of y/n.
Whenever Jon and y/n got a chance to talk it felt like they’d known each other for their whole lives. They had inside jokes and about 2/3’s of a secrets code memorized. Sometimes they would just sit next to each other, completely comfortable in the silent company. Jon’s heart started to beat faster when she was around and his cheeks would heat up when she smiled at him.
He got distracted whenever she came into the training room which resulted in a very hard kick to the stomach on more than one occasion. One day while Jon was on his way home from the manor, he spotted y/n walking swiftly across a rooftop. He hadn’t seen in the cave that day but Damian said she was at a friends house.
His exact words were “She’s at her friends house studying, now if you’re done being completely in love with my sister can we run the training again?”
Of course Jon responded by saying “I am not in love with her!” but it was clear that Damian didn’t buy that and at this point Jon wasn’t sure he believed it either.
‘What is she doing out?’ he thought while silently ducking behind a nearby billboard. Jon let her get about three rooftops away and used his super senses to keep track of her. She turned left, then left again, then right, then another left, and finally stopped on top of a random building.
Y/n turned to look at the city and let out a sigh. “You know,” she spoke softly with a hint of a smirk in her voice. “For someone with Superpowers you’re shit at staying hidden.”
‘Busted’
“How could you possibly have seen me?” Jon came out from his apparently not so good hiding place and landed a few feet away from her on the roof. “I was in super stealth mode.”
“Well darling Jon i was raised by Batman. Noticing things is kinda, well my thing.” She laughed. “Now, care to explain why you’ve been following me for 6 blocks?”
“W-well i have a perfectly reasonable explanation for that and it is because,” he said slowly trying to come up with a good excuse as to why he’d been following her. The truth was he didn’t know why he’d followed her. Although he had a sneaking suspicion it had to do with his not so small crush.
“It’s because- Hey wait a second you’re not even supposed to be out here.” Jon cut himself off by changing the subject. “Didn’t Batman like, ban you from being a crime fighter?”
“What Batman doesn't know won’t hurt him.” She walked over to him so they were now about 2 feet apart.
“He’s Batman! He knows everything!” Jon exclaimed as if it was obvious.
“Well i’m not going to tell him.” She paused leaning closer to Jon so they were mere inches away from each other. His heart speed up and he felt his cheeks turn pink from how close they were. “Are you going to tell him?”
“N-no?” It sounded more like a question then an answer but it was good enough for y/n.
“Great!” She leaned away again, her smile returning. “Now that i’ve confirmed you won’t be snitching on me, we can go get some food. I am starving and there’s a great taco truck just around the corner that makes the best nachos. That is if you want to?”
“Want to? Yeah i’d love to!” He smiled happily at the idea.
“Perfect, then it’s a date.”

Too Little, Too Late
You were never supposed to be there. He warned you not to come but you never really listened to him anyway. He should have known it would take more to stop you.
It all started with the new drug going around. It gave the ultimate high with twice the mortality rate of any normal pill. Bodies were dropping quick and you wanted to do something about it. The plan was simple, first figure out where the drugs were coming from and second, stop it. Simple enough.
The only problem with your plan is that you were currently benched from the crime fighting scene. Apparently Batman's not a fan of teenage heroes who aren't the best at following orders, which was ironic considering how many he knew that fit that exact description. If you could just prove to him how good you were in the field he would let you fight. Right?
"You're not coming." Tim appeared at the door of your room. Of course he had already guessed your plan.
"Oh yeah? Who's gonna stop me," You shot back, stuffing your gear into a backpack. You still couldn't believe he was taking Bruce's side on this, he was supposed to be your wingman.
"This isn't safe," He stepped into the room. "It's not a game, there are consequences in the field."
"I know that Tim. I also know that I can save lives out there. I'm not some damsel in distress and I just need to prove it to him," You turned towards Tim with pleading eyes. He could stop you if he really wanted. You both knew it so your only option was to convince him not to.
He sighed and closed his eyes for a second before smiling slightly at you. "You're not gonna listen to anything i say are you?"
"You know me so well," You smiled innocently back at him. He would never be happy with your choice to fight but he wasn't going to get in your way which was more than enough for you.
"Alright, you win. I won't tell him you're coming but when he inevitably gets mad at you I'm not backing you up. Deal?" He stretched out his arm.
"Deal." You shook his hand with a wide grin on your face. Tim had been your best friend for years and you'd be lying if you said you didn't want to be more than that. He was your whole world, the reason you became a vigilante. You would do anything for him no matter how dangerous or scary because you knew he would do the same for you.
That night, as promised, Tim didn't tell Bruce about your plan to upstage his raid. You got there earlier than them and found a comfortable spot on the adjacent roof to watch from. The drug runners had a 25 man operation, all of which were carrying some heavy duty guns and clearly didn't skip arm day.
"8 on the left side, 6 on the right. 2 guys by the door, 8 pacing and 1 giving orders. If I slip in through the back and work my way forward I should be able to get by. Plus if batsy gets here when he said he would i'll only be on my own for about 10 minutes. Oh yeah, it's all coming together," You smirked to yourself putting down your binoculars.
Of course you knew you couldn't take them all but that wasn't the point. All you needed to do was prove your skills for a short amount of time. Simple, easy, foolproof.
You slipped off the roof and made your way around the building. The lock to the back door was easy enough to pick and you snuck inside unnoticed. The first 8 men were boxing up the drugs and the next 8 were carrying them to the trucks while the 6 were loading the crates onto the trucks.
Ducking behind one of the crates you prepared yourself for the brewing fight. You peaked over the edge to get one last look at the men when something caught your eye. Inside the box, underneath a large batch of the drugs was something that looked like a bluish sort of metal that definitely wasn't pills. You quietly pushed the pills over and saw underneath were at least 10 very big, very scary, and very not earth originated guns.
"Holy alien gun smugglers Batman," you mouthed the classic Robin catchphrase in disbelief. "They've got a crime ring, inside of a crime ring-" you ducked back behind the box. "That's genius! Why didn't I think of that," you muttered a bit too loud. The man closest to you stopped what he was doing and listened.
You held your hand over your mouth to mask the sound of your breathing. If he saw you all hell would break loose and you'd probably be shot long before you could get away. The plan wasn't exactly going how you wanted and on top of that Batman was early. Out of the corner of your eye you saw the familiar pointy shadow pass over head.
"oh fuck me," you groaned and jumped out from behind the crate to kick the gun from the mans hand. This was just the distraction Bruce needed to jump down and scare the shit out of everyone.
"Oh hey Batman. Fancy seeing you here." You called across the room while dodging a punch. The cheery upbeat comments during an intense fight were always your favorite part of the job because of the looks your opponents gave you. Whenever you brought out the vaguely threatening yet happy voice Tim would laugh and that made you laugh so it was a win-win situation for everyone.
"We'll talk about that later!" Bruce glared at you for a moment before returning to the fight.
The truck, which had almost every box loaded on it already, turned on and started to pull away with 7 people inside. Batman jumped on the back just before it could accelerate all the way. He was whisked away leaving you and Tim to finish up here. "Well that was rude, he could have-gagh hey watch it- at least said goodbye," You interrupted yourself when one man swung his knife towards you.
"You're lucky he didn't chew you out on the spot!" Tim called back while fighting off his own group of lackeys.
You dodged and punched and kicked but in your distraction you didn't notice one man go for the leftover boxes and pull out one of the shiny alien guns. He clearly didn't know what he was doing and started pressing buttons at random. The gun went off and a blast hit the wall shaking the whole building. Then he pointed the weapon at Tim and fired.
He didn't see it. He didn't know it was coming and he couldn't stop it but you could. You just needed to get to him before it did. Your legs moved on instinct well before your mind could do anything. You watched the blast in slow motion like a scene in a movie. You called to him and he turned but it wasn't enough to avoid the shot.
Gloved hands collided with the yellow emblem on his chest and you pushed. You saw the light of the blast reflecting in his mask. One second you were watching Tim fall down in front of you and the next you couldn't see anything at all. The steering pain ripped into your side and threw you into a wall.
The shock left you paralyzed on the ground gasping for air. You tried to move but the pain only got worse. You heard Tim yell for you but you didn't have the strength to do anything about it. He kicked the gun out of the man's hands and hit him over the head. The last two men used the opportunity to run out of the building.
Blood was pooling underneath you, soaking into your uniform and staining your skin. Tim sent a distress signal and rushed over to you. He knelt beside you and gently turned you towards him with a panicked expression across his face.
"You're okay, alright you're gonna be fine." The words tumbled out in a rush. Clearly he was trying to sound calm but he couldn't control the rising fear in his voice. He looked down at the bloody wound trying to gauge the damage.
You finally got somewhat control over your breathing, enough to talk at least. "I probably, fuc- can't donate my k-kidney after this, can I?" You laughed slightly before hissing in pain.
"Well your humor is unscathed I see," Tim riflled through his utility belt and brought out a few small pills. Pain killers would do little against the massive slash that stretched around your side but until Batman got back that it was all he could do. You were losing too much blood for him to move you on his own.
"Oh please, it'll take more than this to shut my jokes down," You smiled weakly. "I mean seriously, a mystery gash-" you winced "-from a weird alien gun? Child's play, I've had paper cuts worse than this." You were rambling now and Tim knew that you rambled when you were trying to distract him from something.
It's what you'd always done. Distraction was your specialty. You could always fix things with a witty joke and the dumb smile you knew he loved. You always knew when he was upset and you always knew what to say. You always had just the right snacks in your secret stash. You always made Gotham feel like a city worth saving just because you were in it. Tim couldn't imagine a world without you.
Even now with pain taking over your mind you were trying to make him feel better.
"Red, if he doesn't get back in time-" you tried to speak but he stopped you.
"No. Don't do that, don't you dare." He didn't look in your eyes.
"Don't be stubborn."
"You're gonna be fine." He stayed focused on stopping the blood. "We'll get you back and fix you up in time for those stupid Law and Order reruns you watch at 4 am. You're not going to die now, you can't. I won't let you." His voice was breaking and shaky.
"Tim," You reached up and turned his face towards yours. You took off his mask and saw the tears that threatened to spill out of his eyes. "Let . Me. Go."
He took your mask off as well. "You know I can't."
"I don't think it's your choice anymore."
The spots lining your vision got bigger, taking over your eyes. Your mind was racing and yet you couldn't hold on to any thoughts. A weird calm came over you, you still could feel the wound but it was also sort of numb. Tim's voice was more distant. You knew he was saying something, calling to you, but the words were blurry and then they just stopped
Tim didn't remember when exactly you had died. All he remembered was the way your eyes stopped moving and your chest stilled. He knew you were gone but he still didn't move from your side. Eventually Batman came back and found him holding you. Somehow Dick ended up there as-well and the two of them managed to get Tim home.
He barely talked or ate or even moved for 4 whole days. The next thing he remembered was your funeral. It was a closed casket due to the damage your body had suffered. Bruce had organized a nice ceremony for you, it had two parts. One for your parents and friends who still wondered how someone like you had turned into the unfortunate victim of a stray bullet, and a second one for the people who knew how you really died.
Tim was the last person there after everyone had gone. People tried but no one could convince him to leave. He didn't want to leave you, he didn't want you to be alone.
