I just can see this scenario with Stan! Please if you don't feel comfortable to write it tell me !
Stanley who was always "in control" and a dom in the bedroom ( even feeling like it's necessary as a consequence of his parents) to finally letting himself go, be taken care of, letting his control down and fully entrusting her in being very vulnerable (outside the bedroom he did let his guard down but he had a blockage to let it go intimately) !!!

ââ .âŠ
Awwwwwhshdhfhhd this is unfortunately very in character. I feel like heâd have a massive problem with letting himself be taken care of, like and being seen as weak or being lesser because of it. So youâd have to be very gentle at first, and not to praising from the gettgo, because then heâll think youâre making fun of him.
But as you slowly start to ride him and pin his hands beside you maybe then you can start making remarks about how good heâs taking it. Watch him unravel if you keep going, because he does desperately need your validation, the kind he never got as a kid and still never gets now. Tell him how lucky you are the have him, how perfect he is, and how much you love him.
Heâll be such a mess.
i really want to write but i caannnnotttttt find time too, so have leftovers idk

summary â SFW headcanons about the [gender neutral] reader on a honeymoon with Stan
âââ The photos from the zombie episode were chosen because things would escalate to stakes that high, even on a honeymoon.
âââ Well, maybe not that high, but I feel like things would go comically wrong.
âââ You run out of money, a bar fight starts, your taxi driver turns out to be robbing and bank and youâre involved in a car chase, you end up crashing another wedding, etc.
âââ The honeymoon is totally in Vegas, by the way.
âââ Stan tries so hard to make this a romantic trip for you, heâs honestly terrified of you leaving him.
âââ Heâs hiring mariachi bands at restaurants you go to, and paying for your name to be written out in fireworks (they spelled it wrong but itâs the thought that counts.)
âââ And when anything goes wrong at all, heâs honestly really scared itâs gonna convince you to break it off with him.
âââ Thereâd have to be a lot of reassurance on your part that you are having a good time, and you love him.
âLook, I know iâm a lot to handleâ And maybe this whole trip isnât going as planned, and maybeââ
âAre you kidding? Iâve had a great time, Stan,â You smile genuinely.
He looked surprised, âNo kidding?â
You laugh, âI always have a good time with you. I married you for a reason.â
âââ Imagine spoiling him as much as he spoils you.
âââ Like while heâs trying to write your name in fireworks, youâre on the black market trying to name a planet after him.
âââ Getting him breakfast in bed, and him being all surprised because like he didnât ask you to do that.
âNo shit, where am I? A hotel?â Heâd jokes, faint blush rising.
âMotel,â You correct, âWe couldnât afford a hotel here. Hope this makes up for it!â
âââ I feel like the most romantic part of the honeymoon would be like the more insane parts.
âââ Like you two tied up in the back of a gangs hideout, and having to break free with a nail file.
OI just realized we're short on Stanley headcanon! Please feed us more of this strangely hot old man.
ooooo i do not have nearly enough stanley pines requests, send some in! I already have a smut one in drafts sooo fluff?? i feel like iâve been doing to much smut and stan is my comfort character

summary â [FLUFF] Stanley Pines x Reader headcanons
Û« êŁà§ I feel like a relationship with this man would be relatively low maintenance, like as long as heâs with you, he canât complain.
Û« êŁà§ He would absolutely love to buy you things, gift giving would be his main love language. Even, especially, gifts he doesnât have the money for.
ex. Stan holds out a beautiful pearl necklace, dangling it in front of you, chest puffed.
âStan, you shouldnât have!â You examine the necklace further, âYou really shouldnât have.. wait, whereâd you get this?â
He looked to the side, âBorrowed it. From a friend of a friend⊠âs houseâ What am I, made of answers? I dunno, it fell from the sky or something.â
Û« êŁà§ I also donât think heâd necessarily be the mushiest or partners. He makes it clear he loves you in other ways.
Û« êŁà§ That being said, he likes pet names, but only in private and is severely embarrassed about it.
Û« êŁà§ It would never be boring with him. I mean the entire pines family but especially him.
Û« êŁà§ Watch a fancy dinner escalate into smuggling pugs across the boarder while being chased by old prison âbuddies.â
Û« êŁà§ Other nights being cuddled up watching terrible soap operas by the tv, trying to match Stanâs intensely involved energy.
Û« êŁà§ All that aside, heâd treat you so nice, and then act like itâs nothing.
ex. âAw, are those flowers for me?â
âOh yeah, the color reminded me of your eyes, kinda. Itâs not much, take âem before I change my mind.â
Û« êŁà§ Heâs actually pretty good at flirting but he thinks heâs so absolutely slick that it ends up being more cute then hot.
Û« êŁà§ Honestly, will literally never let anything happen to you, and is probably pretty protective.
Û« êŁà§ Reacts in weirdly emotional ways to genuine affection, might even tear up.
Hello, dearest!
Bill with a partner that's on par with him regarding powers and strength??? HOT. A partner that exceeds that? FERAL.
He'd be so fucking mad about it, but he'd also be so curious about the strength that you possess. Does he respect you? A little. Will that stop him from mouthing off and being the world's biggest brat? No. In fact, that may even encourage it. Maybe he wants you to break him. Maybe he wants you angry at him. Maybe he wants you to let out your frustrations using his body.
Think about it, babe. He's bitching and whining about how weak you are. How you're not enough to him cause really how can he expect you to make him scream and moan if you can't even handle him? Maybe he'll even attempt to dom you instead. Imagine him being secretly so giddy inside watching you boil with anger? He wants it. Give it to him.
--------
STANLEY PINES! THE MAN THAT YOU ARE!
Honestly? His vibes to me are he's either a brat or he's the best sub!guard dog. Hear me out on the latter, he's such a strong dude. He's making ends meet and underneath all that, I know he's tired. Thinking about taking care of him after a hard day? Make him empty his mind as soon as he's with you. He doesn't have to worry about anything. He doesn't have to think.
Maybe... he'll be even into collars? A more physical reminder underneath his collar that there's someone out there looking our for him and to take care of him. Praise him while you're at it. Tell him how much of a good boy he is for taking care of his niece and nephew. How good he is for helping his twin.
Also, sugar baby!Stanley? Let me give him money so all he can worry about next is how he's gonna wear for us â€ïž i wanna spoil that man to the next century.
--------
Hope you have/had a nice shift at work, babes!

been ITCHING to answer this request because both topics are literally my jam, on my mind 24/7.
Bill with a s/o that meets or exceeds his power? That has been picking at my brain since it first crossed my mind. The tension it would cause because, in reality, heâd just be so resentful. I especially think heâd be curious about your power, as you said, and so purposely being a dick and insulting you beyond reason, just to see what you can do. Thatâs the reason, the nasty sex afterwards is just a bonus!
STANLEY PINES I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART!!!!!!11!1!1! I do not get enough Stanley requests. And him being a sub is so precious, like I really just want to tell him how good of a job he does for everyone, and make him feel appreciated :(

After a few minutes of waiting, Stan knocked on your door, you walked up and opened it.
âYa ready?â He asked, looking you up and down so quick you almost didnât catch it.
You looked at him too, a little less subtly than he did, and he looked good. His outfit was pretty simple, a white v neck shirt with a gold chain and brown jeans, but even a simple outfit on him managed to stun you, definitely long enough for him to notice.
âOh um, yeah! Yeah. Where are we going?â You stumbled over your words. You wanted to compliment how good he looked, but you also didnât want to overstep any boundaries, you were sure he saw you staring anyway.Â
âGreasy's Diner alright? They've only got breakfast but it is goodâ
âI love Greasyâs DIner, only been there a few times thoughâ You said
He laughed and smiled, âAlright, lets goâ
you followed him down the stairs and outside to his car.Â
You were a bit nervous, you haven't spent much time with Stan, and you were never good at small talk. You always thought you gave off bad first impressions. You were also worried about the town gossiping, as small towns do. They knew you worked at the Mystery Shack by now, but did they know you lived there? You hoped people wouldnât stare at you while you were out with Stan.Â
As you got to his car he opened your door and gestured for you to get in. âThanksâ you smiled and sat down. You were still nervous, but if Stan could manage to act normal after almost walking in on you naked this morning, then you could manage.
Stan closed your door, walked around to his side of the car, got in and started the car. âYa ready kid?â He asked, âYep!â You smiled
As he drove you sat in silence, some music In the background but it was turned down so low you didn't really pay attention to it. Greasy's Diner wasn't far away, it was maybe 5 minutes before the restaurant appeared in the car's headlights.
You and Stan got out of the car. As you started to walk up to the Diner you looked back at Stan's car. âHow long have you had that car? For as old as it is it runs good, Looks good too.âÂ
âI've had the Stanmobile since I could drive! I upkeep it myself, it's broken quite a few times on me but nothing I couldn't fixâ He beamed, based on the excitement in his voice you could tell it was something he was very proud of. It was nice seeing him talk so passionate about something. When he was running the mystery shack he had that same voice, But you could tell it was more staged when he was working. âThe Stanmobile huh? Honestly one of the more normal names I've heard for a car.â Stan laughed
Stan opened the door for you, you both walked in and sat down. A woman you have seen many times came up to take your order, you learn her name is Lazy Susan. âHello Mr. Mystery, I see youâve made a new friend!â She says as she hands menus to you and Stan.Â
âHah, new friend and new employee! Y/N Here helps me run the Mystery Shack now.â Stan says.
âOh thatâs excitingâ She pours you both some coffee and walks away while you and Stan decide what to eat.Â
âSo, you said youâve had your car since you could drive, how long ago was that?â you asked.Â
âIs that your way of figuring out how old I am?â Stan smiles at you, brows furrowed but a smile on his face.Â
âMaybeâ You laughed, he looked to be in his late 20s to you, but he seemed to mature to be that young.
Just before you could find out Lazy Susan was back to get your orders, Both you and Stan decided to get pancakes. As she walked away you looked back at him, narrowing your eyes. âIâm still waiting for my answer StanâÂ
He rolled his eyes âalright alright, Iâll tell ya, but I want ya to guess firstâ He smiled.
You stared at him for a second, his face, his hair, his hands. You could say you were looking to make a good guess, but really you were just taking this moment as an excuse to study him. His face looked young, but his hands looked like they had done a lot of hard work. You looked back into his eyes. Everyone says the eyes are the window to the soul, but you couldnât read Stan's eyes, they had some emotion behind them but you couldnât quite say what. âHmmm, I'm going to sayâŠ24?â You wanted to guess older, but you knew if you guessed a little younger it would help his ego, and you wanted to make him smile.
âHah, pretty close, but I'm 28, what about you?â He beamed. You were right when you wanted to guess late 20s, but it was worth seeing him smile more than it was being right.
âNo, I had to guess now you have toâ You smiled and stared at him. Having Stan stare at you like you stared at him was awkward. You didnât know where to look
âHmâ He said looking into your eyes, â26?â You smiled, âNo, but you're a better guesser than me. Iâm also 28. His eyebrows raised in surprise.Â
âPancakes!!!â Lazy Susan said as she walked up to you and Stan and gave you both your food. You both sat in silence for a while as you ate, you didnât realize how hungry you were until there was food in front of you.Â
After you all both were done, Stan looked up at you âWanna take this back to my placeâ You laughed, and blushed.
âThatâs the worst pick up line for someone who lives with you Stanâ
He grinned âWell, ya saying you aren't gonna come back to my place? Cause I think you are, which means it worksâÂ
You sighed and smiled at him fondly âAlright, I guess it is, but itâs still dumbâÂ
Stan rolled his eyes and smiled at you.âAlright let's goâ. Stan got up and got out his wallet.
âHey I can pay for my foodâ You started to say.Â
He waved his hand at you. âEven if I let you pay it would still be my money, donât worry about itâÂ
You sighed, âfineâ he wasn't wrong but it was more of the principle of it. You didnât want him to pay for you unless you were on a real date.Â
âDonât get into too much trouble you too!â Lazy Susan said as you and Stan left Greasy's Diner. You just smiled âWeâll try!â You could tell by the calculating look on her face that she was probably going to be gossiping about you and Stan. You werenât in town very often anymore now that you had a place to live, so you found yourself not really caring for once. As you and Stan got outside and got back into the Stanmobile, Stan again getting your door for you, you made your way back to the Mystery Shack.Â
During the ride home you kept stealing small glances at Stan, admiring how his arms looked as he gripped the steering wheel, watching his hands as they turned the wheel. If you were looking at his face you would have seen the glances he was giving you too, but you didnât.
*Stan POV*
Stan could see the way you were looking at him as he drove, as good as having someone admire him made him feel, it also worried him. Stan saw himself as a disease. When he met someone he infected them with whatever bad luck he had that ruined everything, and ruined them too. He liked you of course, but he was just so tired. Tired of ruining other peoples lives, tired of running to new towns, tired of never being enough. He almost started to regret letting you move in. If something happened and the town started to gossip and try to run him out of town, what would he do? He couldnât leave Gravity Falls, not until he got Ford back.Â
Maybe he should start distancing himself from you. He knew in his heart he wouldnât be able to kick you out, not when you only had your car to live in. He knew what that was like. Waking up freezing in the dead of night, having to start your car just so you can be warm enough to fall back asleep. The summers could be just as bad, sweating in a car but not rolling the windows down out of fear of someone robbing you, or worse.
He shook himself out of the thoughts of his past, and looked over to you for a moment as he drove. âSo, how long ya planning on staying in Gravity falls?â
âReader POV*
âSo, how long ya planning on staying in Gravity falls?â
âI haven't really put much thought into it. Iâm not really the planning type. Normally I skip towns when I have enough money or I get bored.â You said, you think that question was his way of figuring out how long you would stick around, but you werenât sure if he was asking because he wanted you to get out of his house or because he enjoyed your company. You hoped it was the latter.Â
âYa ever think you'll find a town good enough to stay in?â He asked.Â
You pondered his question for a minute, trying to find the right words without oversharing. âWell, I have only been on the road for a few months, I hadnât exactly planned to be on this road trip. Just kinda happened. As far as settling into a new town, It really hasnât crossed my mind on a serious level. I haven't been financially stable enough to let myself consider it since I've been on the road.â
*Stan POV*
Stan could tell by the tone of your voice that you were probably on the road because you were running from something. He knew from experience that often people who were traveling were running from many things, some they werenât even aware of. He could tell your reason was more physical than mental by the way you spoke. Whether it be a specific person or situation, he felt the way you phrased your words indicated it wasnât your choice to be where you were now. Some people are out there because they are trying to escape themselves, others are running away from people they crossed a line with. He met many people from both situations, so he got used to reading in between the lines.
He hated how much you reminded him of himself, he knew how quick street life could get dark. He was a kid when he got kicked out, and he thought he was tough, but when he got out on those streets, he was the most scared he had ever been. It made him grow up fast, but he would never escape the nightmares that life gave him. While you were older when you started living in your car, age wasnât something that prepared you for that life. You had a look in your eyes when you spoke that you had already seen some of that darkness. He didnât want to make your life worse but he feared he would.. He wanted you to move on from Gravity Falls before he could ruin another person. But seeing that distant look in your eyes as you answered, he knew he would have to let you move on on your own terms. Hopefully he could keep you at arms length for however long that was.Â
As he pulled into the driveway of the Mystery Shack and parked his car, he turned to you. âI know road life is hard, donât worry about overstaying your welcome here. Stay here as long as you want, and if ya wake up one day and decide you want to leave, donât think ya owe me anything.â He stated, trying to look into your eyes but instead more looking through you, still a bit lost in the memories of his past. âJust uh, helping around the shop is enough of payment for meâÂ
*Reader POV*
You always thought of Stan as just a conman, but you never thought about what he had been through, to become that. In that moment, the far-away look in Stan's eyes changed how you thought about him. He looked like he had seen a lot of shit, shit you knew would be too vulnerable to ask about right now. Your mind was blank after he finished talking, you felt so happy you finally had some stability in your life, but the man offering you that stability seemed like he had none. While he had the physical stuff, money and a roof over his head. Mentally he seemed fragile, like he was just barely making it. for a moment he looked like a shell of himself as he looked through you while he spoke. You knew he got lost in his thoughts often from the interactions you had had with him so far. You wondered what happened in his past to hurt him so bad, and you wondered if in some way you could help him. After what you knew was too long of a silence you finally managed to speak.
âThat means a lot Stan, thank you. Really.â You said, reaching out and placing your hand over his.Â
âYeah uh, no problemâ He said, he moved to get out of the car, but squeezed your hand for a second before he moved away from you. As he got out and you followed him into the mystery shack, as you entered the shack he turned to you. âI've got some work to do in the shack, see ya in the morning?â He said, pointing over to his office, avoiding eye contact.
âDo ya want any help?â You askedÂ
âNo! No. Itâs just uh, itâs confusing stuff, just a bunch of paperworkâ His voice got too loud for a moment, but he corrected it, looking anxious.Â
âAlright you have fun with thatâ you laughed. âSee ya tomorrowâ you smiled and started to head up to your room. As you got ready for bed you found yourself thinking about Stan again. You were hoping to hang out more when you got back, but he seemed anxious to work on whatever he was doing. As you drifted off to sleep you thought about Stan. The more you hung out with him the harder it was for you to keep your eyes off of him. You wanted to get to know him more, more about his past, about his family. You were hoping work was slow tomorrow so you could talk to him more.Â
*Stan POV*
When you put your hand on Stans he almost panicked. He wasnât used to casual touch from people. He didnât hate it of course, it had just been so long since he had someone who seemed to care about him.
He didnât want to abandon you when you got back to the Mystery Shack, but he had to work on the portal. He had been neglecting it since he had a new guest in the house, and the guilt of doing so was getting to him. As he went down to the basement and looked at the mess, he really wished he did have someone to help. He knew you couldnât, how could he even begin to explain his situation without you thinking he was crazy? He sighed, looking through journal one, trying to make sense of how to help his brother.Â
He hated coming down here. Everything down in this basement reminded him of what a failure he was. Ford could have been so much more if Stan hadn't ruined his chance at his dream college, his father made sure he knew it was his fault. He probably wouldn't have even built this portal. And if Stan had listened to Ford when Ford finally gave him a chance, Ford would still be here.Â
As he looked up at the portal from his desk he just signed, banging his head down onto the table and laying there. His mind was back to calling him every name in the book, criticizing him for all his failures. He sat there with his head on the desk, rubbing the scar in his shoulder. He decided to go upstairs eventually, he needed to go out and look for the other journals. He couldnât figure anything out with just the first one. As he went upstairs to go to his room, he passed yours. The thought of at least having someone to talk to in the morning made him smile. It was nice to not be alone with his thoughts all the time. Even though Stan planned to keep his distance from you, the company of another person still helped his mental state more than he realized.Â

As you walked down the stairs and into the mystery shack you were relieved to find Stan already there. You needed to get out what you planned to say before your courage was lost. He looked up as he heard you walk in but quickly looked right back down, trying to pretend he hadn't noticed you.Â
The second you saw him. your courage started to slip. A part of you wanted to turn around and go right back to your room, but you couldnât avoid him forever. His body language showed how uncomfortable he was, and you didnât want him to think you were mad at him. You let out a sigh, and put aside you anxiety
âHey Stan, sorry I didnât lock the bathroom door earlier, I wasn't really thinking about the fact that I live with someone else now.â You laughed and smiled, but you knew your posture was giving away your anxious feelings as you wrung your hands together. Â
As you talked he looked at you with shock, eyebrows raised and mouth almost hanging open. His look of shock made you wonder how his mind played out in this situation. Did he think you were going to come down here and yell at him for opening the door to his own bathroom?Â
âIt's ok, it's uh, I wasn't thinking either. Slipped my mind that I had a new guest this morning.â He mumbled, looking up at you only for a split second as he spoke. âBut um, as far as the Mystery Shack goes, I was gonna let ya have some shirts from the gift shop to wear when you worked but I didnât know what size ya were, if ya wanna just pick out a coupleâ He looked up at you finally after he was done talking, a hopeful but worried look in his eyes.
âHey come on, you saw me half naked this morning. I think you could figure out my shirt size. Are you trying to get another look?â You were trying to lighten the mood but you think your joke went too far. Stanâs face got red as he started to stutter
âN-No I uh- I just didnât wanna pick the wrong-umâ he trailed off, a distant look in his eyes that refused to meet yours.
Well flirting made that worse. Won't do that again. Got it. The âMan of Mysteryâ you first met when you walked in couldnât be farther from the Stan you were getting to know now. This Stan was somehow soft spoken despite his raspy voice, and surprisingly easy to fluster.Â
*Stans POV*
Theyâre sorry? They should be running out the door screaming about how much of a creep you are. Should have just come down here with their stuff packed and left. Guess they felt sorry for your dumbass when you ran like a coward. Always a coward. Always the worse twin. They canât really like you can they? No, they just feel bad for you. Just wait till They know how horrible you are. You ruined your brother's life. Twice. They won't be pitty flirting with you much longer. God, you canât even form a sentence in front of them. No wonder theyâre being so nice you're acting like a flustered girl. Get it together Stan. This poor person is probably just apologising cause theyâre afraid of the stranger they live with now. They should be I guess. I bring everyone down with me eventually. Maybe they can sense that.Â
Stan was snapped out of his thoughts by the door ringing as a handful of people with a touristy look of wonder in their eyes walked in.
Alright, showtime. Stan thought to himself.Â
Stan can step into character no problem. In fact stepping into the mystery man persona makes him almost forget how his life has started to fall apart, about how he lost everything. Almost.Â
*Reader POV*
After an awkward silence from your attempt to lighten the mood, the door rang and customers flooded in. Almost instantly the man you met when you first walked through that door was back. Standing tall with a cheesy smile and eyes shining.Â
âWelcome everyone to the Mystery Shack! Tours are $20 a person! Now who's ready to see the wonders of Gravity Falls! Weâve got the world's most distracting object, the invisible man and more!âÂ
$20? You smiled, wondering why he said tours were $15 for you when you walked in. Maybe you gave a better impression than you thought. As much as you liked this man of mystery you still preferred the real Stan, and were excited to get to know that version of him better. Maybe he wouldnât be so quiet once he got to know you more.Â
As Stan led tours of people throughout the day. You began to turn into a conman in your own way, overselling the items in the gift shop. You tried to convince everyone who walked in there that they needed enough souvenirs for their whole family. Everyone needs a Mystery Shack bumper sticker!! You knew from your small interactions that Stan greatly valued money, maybe more than anything else, and you wanted to impress him. To show him that you were worth hiring. Maybe if you did a good enough job he would pay you decently. He had already been kind to you, even though the two of you had hardly spoken
*Stan POV*
As the end of the day approached, the mystery shack slowed down, and the events of the morning had finally stopped repeating in Stanâs head. However, he still wasnât sure he could just have a normal conversation with you after this morning. Maybe he could ask about your past? What led you to Gravity Falls of all places? No, if you asked him about his past and why he was here he would have to start an elaborate lie. As easy as lying came to him, he knew lying to someone close only lasted so long before everything fell apart.Â
It was always easier for Stan to talk to people when he wasnât trying to make friends. If he was only going to know someone for a short time, he could be whoever he wanted. When it came to being himself he was so guarded he didnât know how to be himself. How was he supposed to form a genuine connection with someone without mentioning his twin, who was his only childhood friend, or the portal that kept him up every night. He was never the smart twin, he couldnât easily hide so much of himself, so he preferred to not be himself.
As Stan came back into the present world and out of his own head, he realized the gift shop had become empty. He was standing next to the door a few feet from you, not saying anything. He hoped he wasnât staring at you. God how long had he been doing that? As he jumped back to reality and looked around the gift shop, he saw that you were counting the cash drawer.
Now money, money was definitely something he could talk about.Â
*Reader POV*
Stan slowly walked into the empty gift shop, you looked up to ask how his day was going but he looked like he was lost in his own world. You figured you would just busy yourself counting the register until he came back to reality. Didnât wanna scare him off twice in one day.Â
He wasnât in his daze for long, shortly after you started counting the cash he looked up and started walking over to you.Â
âWoah what have you been doing all day? You start pickpocketing my customers?â Stan said as he walked up to see the amount of cash he had made that day.
âJust learning from the bestâ You winked at him and smiled âItâs honestly pretty easy to sell to the type of people who walk in here, they aren't the brightestâ
âHey, are you insulting my hand crafted attractions? It takes a long time to make those.â He pretended to be upset with you, frowning and crossing his arms,
âHey donât skip out on me calling you the best.â You smiled wide, glad Stan was finally acting normal with you.
âAlright ya got a point, I am the best con-man in Gravity Falls, more than that really, I would argue I'm the best con-man in the Country! My cons got me banned in over 30 states ya know.â He smiled, sounding proud of the fact.
âOVER THIRTY, Stan I hate to say it but I donât think that makes you a great con-man. Con-men are supposed to be caught.â You laughed but you were secretly a little worried. You were pretty sure he was joking, but what did this man do before he ran this shack?
âSweetheart, do I look like I've been caught.â He smiled and held up his hands âI donât see handcuffs, think that's a sign Iâm doing a pretty good jobâ
âI think you do better with a partner, look how much we made today. Now I donât know what ya make on a normal day but based on what ya said earlier I think you're not the only one to thank here.â You showed him how much you had made today, writing down how many of each bill was in the drawer, and circling the total after you had finished adding it all up.
His eyes widened âDamn, alright I guess I do gotta pay ya. Didnât think havinâ ya around would help me this much.â
He handed you $40 dollars, which was more than you expected. Honestly you didnât expect him to pay you on the first day, you thought you would have to work a lot harder to prove that you were worth keeping employed here. You werenât gonna tell him that however. You looked up at Stan with a beaming smile, âPleasure doing business with ya Mr. Mysteryâ
âHah, yeah, you too Y/Nâ
You and Stan closed up the shop together, restocking the shelves, turning off the lights, locking the door, and switching the sign to closed.Â
As you cleaned the gift shop you thought about dinner, you didnât feel comfortable raiding Stan's kitchen, but you also had limited money. You couldnât go out to eat every night, but tonight you decided you would spare yourself the awkwardness of using someone else's kitchen. You kept looking at Stan in the corner of your eye as you both closed out the shop. You just had your first real conversation with him, but you just wanted to know more. If he really had traveled through so many states you're sure the man had some good stories. You also liked the way his eyes lit up when you started joking with him about him being banned in over 30 states. For your own sanity you are going to assume that was his way of trying to impress you and not the truth.Â
*Stan POV*
As Stan helped you clean the Gift Shop, he found that his mind had for once, taken a break from insulting him. He smiled when he thought about how you brushed off his hint at his past. You probably thought he was joking, but he wondered if you had a colorful past like him. He finally did get to talk to you, but he only talked about himself. He was hoping to hear more about you too. Would be nice to know something about the person he is letting live with him. He wondered what you were planning to do after work. Maybe he could get to know you more over dinner? He wasnât sure how to get to know you more without sounding like he wanted to go on a date with you, but he wasnât too worried about it. He was just enjoying thinking about things that werenât his own fuck ups for once. Maybe he wouldnât âdrag you downâ with him. Maybe he could let himself be pulled up.
*Reader POV*
You and Stan both wrapped up your cleaning and headed into the âhomeâ side of the shack. As you both were off to your own rooms you looked back at Stan, and found him already looking at you.
âHey, iâm probably gonna go out for food soon, ya can join me if ya want, donât know what your plans are.â You asked, trying you best to frame it as a suggestion that he could back out of if he wanted.
Stan just smiled âYeah iâll go with ya, kitchens empty anywaysâ
âAlright, let me know if you have any recommendations, I'm sure there are some hidden gems in this town. Give me a second to get out of my work clothes and I'll be ready to head out.â You smiled. You hoped you didnât look too excited.
*Stan POV*
Stan couldnât remember the last time he was the one who got asked out, he knew you didnât mean it as a date, but yet he couldnât stop smiling as he got ready. He wanted to say he decided to dress casual, but in truth he really only had a few pairs of clothes, and of those few pairs not many were clean or in a place he could find.Â
*Reader POV*
You knew you were a little too excited to be going out to eat with Stan, but you weren't going to dwell on that right now. You deserved to feel excited to make a new friend. Were you thinking about him a little differently than you would a friend? Yes. But you were still a bit in the denial phase. You could think those thoughts all you wanted, it was when you acted on them that you would start thinking about the risks.
As you opened your door to find him, you saw his door slightly open. You figured he just left it open and he was down somewhere but then you got a glimpse of him though the crack in the door.Â
You didnât see much, just a small glimpse of him walking across his room shirtless. but you immediately turned to wait in your room with the door open. You definitely werenât sitting there wishing you got a better look at him. And you especially not thinking about how his arms would feel wrapped around you, about how pretty his eyes would look up close.
Ugh, maybe you should start to think about the risks of these thoughts.Â

Author's Notes: The writing block is slowly hitting me because Iâm not sure how to get into the depths of Stan and how he would confide in the reader. Like this man would open up instantly, but I also wanna keep the story moving.
Also Iâm kinda writing about the 2012 version of the mystery shack despite writing about young stanâŠwe're gonna ignore those errors.

During your short tour of the âbehind the scenesâ as Stan called it, he explained more of what your job would be.Â
âThe Mystery Shack is open five days a week, 9-5, and iâm expectinâ ya to be here for all of those days. And hey if you gonna live here too might as well fix up the house a bitâ He laughed with his classic con-man smile.
His tone was light when it came to him joking about you doing housework. But as you saw more you could tell that the manâs home was as cluttered as his mind, and you knew overtime that the mess would genuinely bother you.
âBut now for the real grand attraction of the mystery shack, your new room!âÂ
Stan led you to a small and dusty room, which was surprisingly bare. It was nice to see a mostly empty room however, it made you feel like you werenât invading a space he needed.Â
âWell iâll leave you to get settled since itâs getting late. Donât forget, your new life as the Cashier of Mystery starts tomorrowâ He laughed as he left you in your newly acquired room.Â
As you dragged your stuff out of your car you realized how few belongings you actually had. Given that all the space you had was a trunk and a backseat, it got stuffy fast. It made you a bit sad to see everything you owned not even fill a small room.Â
Shortly after unpacking and getting settled, you decided to go to bed to attempt to not think of how surreal your life was feeling at the moment. However, the first night in the mystery shack was not helping bring you back to reality. You kept hearing noise in the night, noise that sounded to be much more than the typical house settling noises. The noises made your brain overthink more than it typically did, specifically about the âMan of Mysteryâ Stan Pines. Your brain wondered who he really was. The townsfolk already knew he was a conman, was Stan Pines really his name? What if he renamed the Mystery shack because he was on the run from murdering someone? And why did you agree to move in with a man you had never met before? Or even a better question: why was he the one to suggest the offer? You hoped he didnât have anything bad planned for you. Maybe he was kinder than his persona let on? You wouldnât deny that he definitely had a lot of charm in the way he talked and held himself, but that could have been a part of his act. You tossed and turned but not for long, the warmth and comfort of finally sleeping in a bed lulling you to sleep.
The next morning you woke up to your alarm in a daze, it took you a few seconds to remember where you were and oh god you live with a man you hardly know and you also work for him. Now that you regrettably remembered what you got yourself into, you got up and decided you would need a shower before your first day of work. It had been a little longer than you were willing to admit since you showered. You grabbed your small bag of toiletries and nervously went to find the bathroom. The bathroom was surprisingly nice, not as small as you thought it would be. As you got out of the shower and dried off, you realized you left your clean clothes in your room. You could just get back into your dirty clothes but your bedroom was less than ten steps away so you figured it was worth the risk to just wear a towel back to your room.Â
Just as you were about to open the door your horrible luck almost hit you right in the face. Your horrible luck being the Man of Mystery himself, in boxers and a white t-shirt, with quite the startled look on his face.Â
For a split second Stan eyed you up and down, just as fast he squeaked out a âShit-Sorryâ as his whole face started to blush, he turned around and hurried back to his room.
*Stan POV*Â
God Stanly you really are the definition of the wrong place at the wrong time. Gonna be an awkward day now, what are you supposed to do? Should you pretend that never happened? No, you literally looked them up and down! god why canât you ever think before you act. I mean it wasnât a bad view-NO you are not dragging them down with you, you have ruined every person's life who had the misfortune of becoming close to you. They seem down on their luck enough. This is what you get for pitying someone who is in the situation you were just in. You think you can help them? Yeah right. God they probably think you're a creep, they are probably packing up their stuff now. Best they do anyway you're only gonna make their life worse if they stay. Always the fuck up. Always the worse twin.
*Reader POV*
You thought that the 'Man of Mystery' persona wasn't too far off from the real Stan, but you realized after your impromptu interaction with him that you were mistaken. You thought he would have said some lame pick up line or even whistled at you. But it was cute how instead his face got red and his voice got so small. His confident persona made him seem older and so sure of himself, but the Stan you just saw? That version of him seemed like the real Stan. You won't forget the way his eyes wandered for a second, but you probably would have done the same. Hell he probably forgot you moved in. You found yourself smiling at the situation instead of being embarrassed, but you knew you would be the one blushing when you had to face him. While technically he didnât see anything, it was more the idea of having just a towel on that was far too intimate. You didnât want to think about how if he had opened the door any sooner he would have seen a lot more of you. You would have had to skip town out of sheer embarrassment if that had happened.
Then again seeing the Man of Mystery character disappear so fast intrigued you. Seeing a glimpse of the real Stan made you less worried about who you were living with. You really couldn't help but smile when thinking about his red face and how quick he was to run away. You hoped he didnât feel too bad, you were the one who left the door unlocked after all. He was probably embarrassed given he wasn't wearing much either, but from what you saw he looked good. It was also the first time you saw his hair without his fez on. You couldn't recall the last rime you saw a mullet look that good on someone. You found yourself thinking that you got a better view than he did. Â
You shook your head and snapped out of those thoughts because You. Donât. Know. This. Man. You donât need to be making risky choices now, especially if you want to stay living here, and keep your job. God, your job. It was gonna be a long day, you didnât even know how you were going to act normal around Stan.Â
You figured it would be best to be the first one to talk when you did see him. Yes. You could apologise for not locking the door! If you could shift the blame to you he would hopefully feel less awkward about the situation.

Author's notes:
hmm what could all those noises in the night be?? (it's him working on the portal. I am not clever.) Wonder who's empty room too??? (itâs prob not canon but iâm gonna say it was Mcgucket's room before he left Ford)
These details donât really matter but it was what my mind imagined when I wrote it so I figured I would add that context.
Pt 2 - Pt 3 - Pt 4
The title has nothing to do with this (yet??? đ) It was just the song I was listening to. This is my first fic so any and all advice appreciated!! Stan Pines occupies my mind an unhealthy amount.

SFW! Just an intro really
WC: 1,518
You had recently moved to gravity falls. Well, moved is a strong word, more of a new place to live out of your car before the locals start to be so rude that you are driven out by the side eyes and passing comments. Which bothered you way more than they should.
Unfortunately, this town seemed just like the rest, maybe even worse given how small it was. Anytime you walked down main street or into greasy's diner people looked intrigued. It was obvious this town didn't get a lot of new visitors, or at least new visitors that stuck around.Â
On the inside you felt it really wouldnât be too bad to stay here. Maybe the locals would warm up to you over time? Small towns always made you enjoy the simple things in life more, big cities just depressed you. However you hardly had the money to keep up your car, so the thought of an apartment was out of the question.Â
Quicker than you realized you were running low on cash, and as much as you wanted to just move on to the next town, you couldnât exactly do that if your car runs out of gas. You began to try and find a way to make quick cash, but the town did not have a lot of options. The stores that were operating had all the staff they needed, and didnât seem very willing to hire you over the townsfolk which they had known all their lives.Â
The more you asked around the more you kept hearing about the mystery shack, one of the few places in gravity falls you had not been yet. It didnât help that you never heard much good from the townsfolk about it. âYeah it used to be called the murderhutâ one man told you. A woman once told you that place was the reason for her left eye not opening anymore? You werenât even sure how that could happen, but you figured it would be best to not ask too many questions.Â
You heard the man who ran it was a conman but also a scientist? It sounded like the mad scientist ruse was just his latest con to you. As someone who townhopped you had gotten pretty used to making up stories to people you needed something from. Or ones who asked you too many questions, but you wouldn't call yourself a conman by any means. However, you thought the mystery shack was at least worth a shot, the man sounded like quite the recluse so maybe you being new here wouldnât bother him.Â
Pulling up to the newly renamed mystery shack, it really did seem like a conman's scheme. The place itself looked quite neglected, and the 1960s car parked by it made it almost seem like a building lost to time. The more you looked the less you wanted to go in, much less ask if the man was hiring. Even if he was, he sounded like the type to pay his workers in spare change.Â
You regrettably walked in, and were immediately greeted by a caricature of the conman you had heard so much about.Â
âHey there, donât ya want a tour of the greatest attractions gravity falls has to offer? However, if ya wanna just buy our junk-I mean our handcrafted merchandise, i recommend everything in the store!â His booming raspy voice filled the room, with a fake beaming smile he looked at you waiting for a reaction, and your money.Â
âI actually wanted to ask if you are hiring?â You shrugged and half smiled, you felt your chances were so abysmal you didnât even want to ask.Â
âListen kid, the place isnât exactly booming right now, I mean what would your job even be?â He laughedÂ
You looked around the gift shop, you could be a cashier, but you also felt you should see the whole attraction before you answered. Maybe as he gave you a tour you could warm him up to the idea of hiring you. That is if your were able to fake being in awe and amazed at whatever this place had to offer.
âI think Iâll need a tour before I can tell you how much you need my help.â You said beaming a hopefully convincing smile.
âHah, how much I need your help? Werenât you just begginâ for my money? But hey, gotta spend money to make money, tourâs $15.â He beamed that same cheesy smile, but seemed genuinely excited to give you a tour. Or maybe he was just excited that you were giving him money. Â
You rolled your eyes and handed over what was almost the last of your cash, and followed him through the mystery shack. Many of the attractions were soppily glued or stapled together, but you couldnât deny the man's creativity. You did smirk at the way all the attractions managed to be a play on words, sascrotch? Thigh clops? The invisible man, which was just a dusty empty corner? That one actually made you laugh. In a way you did love the silliness of it all, and how he tried to be so convincing that these things were true wonders of gravity falls. While you werenât amazed you would say he definitely brightened your day a little bit with his comical performance. The more he talked the more you thought about how it would be nice to work with him. To get to know the real him, not just the mad scientist/con-man caricature he had built.
By the end of the tour you were back at the gift shop, and you were somehow still at a loss for how you could convince this man to give you a job here. It did seem to be one of the more entertaining options the town had to offer, both in location and the man himself.
You figured you could just compliment how great of a job he was doing, and hope the attention would convince him to keep you around. âHonestly, you seem like you're doing a great job running the place, the play on words for all the attractions is more clever than what I could come up with. But I think you might need a cashier. Wouldnât it be nice to have someone in here while you're giving tours? Wouldnât want any of the merchandise to go missing.â You sounded much less convincing than you hoped, but maybe you were just overthinking it?
âIâm not sure I'm looking to pay someone just to stand at a cash drawer kidâ he scoffed âand why should I help you out huh?â
Well, he wasnât impressed and seemed to know what you were up to. In fact the attempt to compliment him just had the opposite effect, he seemed more closed off now. You really didnât have a reason he should hire you. The old âgood honest workerâ answer clearly wouldnât be enough. and you were not a good enough liar to come up with a reason that would convince a conman. You just stared at him blankly for a moment, scanning him and the surroundings, hoping something around you would give you an answer to his question. You didnât think brutal honesty would help, but you really didnât have another option. You definitely couldn't out-lie this man.Â
âListen-whatâs your name actually? Kinda skipped over the whole introduction process hereâÂ
âMany call me the man of mystery when I'm running the mystery shack, but it's Stan.â He joked.Â
âWell at least he isnât still standoffishâ you thought.Â
âOk, Stan, the truth is I just need enough cash to get out of this town and onto my next middle-of-nowhere town. As cozy as nights in my car are here in gravity falls, I'm getting tired of the side eyes and whispers of the townsfolk. I donât think they care for new residents here.â
His expression seemed to soften as you went on, and you honestly couldnât believe this was working. Was this really working?
âAlight kid, how about this, I can give ya a place to sleep if you help out around the shack. And hey, if ya do good enough job, maybe I can start payin yaâ
You paused for a moment, a bed did sound nice, and so did a room to put all your junk in, your car was quite a mess. The thought of having a space to at least somewhat call you own was one you had not let yourself imagine in some time. His offer and small bit of kindness reminded you how long it had been since you had a friend too.Â
âIâll take that dealâ You said after a pause that you hoped wasnât too long, and extended your hand. He firmly shook your hand and laughed.Â
âWell I think you're in need of another tour now, on the house for now. Come on into the living quarters of the mystery shack!âÂ
He winked and let you through a door labeled âemployees onlyâ which led to a part of the shack that looked surprisingly homey.
