leona isn’t that pretty guy that everyone either hates or adores. you’re apart of the latter group. you admire his capability to do so well in the hellish setting that is college, and wish you could do the same. or at least talk to him instead of just glancing at him from across parties and lecture halls. unfortunately, when it came to boldness, you were at the shallower end of the gene pool, cursed with forever admiring the things you loved from a distance instead of facing them head on. that was until he approached you instead as you grew tipsy at a party. he noticed a group of certain trouble makers on their way to take advantage of your drunken state and he interrupted, leading you to the kitchen where you could sober up. even in your disoriented state, all you could wonder about was the fact that his hands felt so gentle against your arms while he held you up. “ hey, keep those eyes open. stay near me. i’m gonna call ruggie to drive you home. ”

ruggie isn’t that super resourceful guy at the school who owns his own class snack business. he scams the students when he sells them a chocolate bar that would usually retail for a dollar for an entire three dollars. he preys on the desperate and hungry student body, especially those who don’t eat breakfast at home and come to their lectures with bellies growling. except you. you get the ‘ close enough to me to get a discount ’ discount. even on the days you’d forget to bring money, he’s pat your back and grin while telling you it was on the house. with his resourcefulness, he helped you get out of a plentiful amount trouble. for example, that time when you missed the exam, he spoke his way into getting you back on the exam roster to take it another day. it was no surprise that you’d end up attached to him eventually. he’d grin each morning, “ look who’s come back for business ! forget your cash again ? no worries. for you , it’s on the house. ”

jack isn’t that childhood friend that you watched join many sports teams throughout your time together, and just assumed he’d go into professional sports. since high school, you’d find yourself at all of his games and in return he’d come to as many of your extracurricular events as well. at some point, his coaches and your club presidents had assumed you both were dating, to which you laughed and shook your head. jack on the other hand wouldn’t have minded had you agreed with them. and he still feels that way as he runs across the field in his first ever college game. from the corner of his eye he can see you in his spare jersey cheering him on, and with his sharp ears he could hear the sound of your voice as you yell his name. after the game you ran into his arms and he lifted you off the ground, feeling almost exhilarated enough to tell you how he’s felt since meeting on the elementary playground. “ let’s go get something to eat. that game was exhausting. ”
