Recently I came across a scene from the "Good Omens" with Gavryusha's gang bullying Zira. I still do not understand how they can insult and BEAT THIS INNOCENT CLOUD. At that moment I had only one thought:

i had a fever dream in autocad last night (don’t ask, it’s unfortunately a common occurrence) where i was for some reason tasked with creating floor plans for aziraphels bookshop, unfortunately (due to what i’m assuming was miracled room extensions) the shop didn’t abide by the laws of physics and was literally impossible to draft. i woke up in a cold sweat at 3am. fell back asleep. and continued the exact same goddamn dream.

So I saw a lot of people talking about the kissing scene, and I would like to share my thoughts. I think that the reason why Aziraphale says "I forgive you" is because he is afraid that the kiss is an attempt to tempt him and not to show him love. By the time of the kiss he has the mindset of heaven vs hell and he does not see Crowley as a separate side, but as a demon (we can see that when he says "you're the bad guys"). Because the kiss is so desperate and aggressive, he does not want to see the feelings Crowley wants to show him, but instead, he sees an act of demon trying to tempt him. He's trying to believe that this is the truth so he can go to heaven without any doubt. In the audio description, we can hear that Aziraphale is disappointed because he does not want to see the love Crowley is showing him. We can see that when they are kissing, angel is trying to kiss back, but chooses not to in the end so he could choose the 'greater good', which is fixing heaven. So that is my theory, I hope my English is not too bad

I don't think I've ever related to a character more than I do to crowly.

And it might sound pretentious. I relate to him not cause he's cool or dress nice. And aloof and unaffected by the world around him. For the most part.

Its because like him I too try to be cool and evil.

Because like him, I am also in love with my best friend.

Because like him I too talk to God when I am at my wits end.

Because like him I too want to run away with my best friend/ love of my life.

Away from all this bullshit. And i keep dropping hints and I know she knows, at least I am hoping. But I don't feel worthy.

But I will endulge in that hubris all the same.

But unlike him. If she gave me a choice of serving as her second in command. As long as it meant staying by her side. I will abandon all I am and join her.

Not sure what that makes me.

Азірафель молився. Зціпивши руки в замок, нахиливши голову, подібно покірному священику, тихо промовляв. Він бачив, як схожими речами займаються люди, віруючі у церквах, чи фільмах. Вони ніби розмовляли з Богом, і робили це так довго (не в межах одного "сеансу", тривалістю з єдиний божественний текст, якщо що, а кількох тисячоліть), що Азірафаель почав повторювати за ними. Не те, щоб він не міг поспілкуватись з Богом особисто, він же янгол, і знає інші шляхи вийти на зв'язок зі Всевишнім, йому просто це подобалось, напевно. Точно, подобалось, як своєрідний акт медитації. Та й іноді хочеться розказати усе, про що думаєш, не отримавши жодної палаючої вітки у відповідь, чи не так?

Спочатку молитва стала новинкою в його розпорядку дня. Він завжди знаходив, про що розповісти. Згодом Азірафель вивчив усі тексти з божественних книг, і, коли здавалось, що розповідати особливо ні про що, зачитував по пам'яті уривки, котрі йому подобались в ту секунду найбільше. З часом нововведення перетворилось у звичку, а звичка — в рутину. Навіть після становлення архангелом, він не полишав ритуалу, і наприкінці робочого часу (закінчення котрого важко було обмежити чіткими рамками) продовжував бесіду з Богом.

Цього разу він не хотів говорити сам. Слова не вкладались в голові, і язик від втоми заплітався, тому одразу згадалась простенька "Отче наш".

"Отче наш, що є на небесах, нехай святиться Ім’я Твоє" і так далі. Текст вискакував з вуст як по маслу, до моменту...

"І прости нам-"

На секунду в нього перехопило дихання.

Той вечір знову нагадав про себе. Він сам, не просячись і не дзвонячи, вліз у думки янгола, нахабно витісняючи інші спогади, і наповнив всю голову літаючим навкруги пилом і запахом старого паперу. Така поведінка, якщо у спогаду вона, поведінка ця, взагалі може існувати, нагадувала ще про декого зі схожими манерами. Закриті за чорним склом окуляри, котрі теж були у кімнаті. Певно що блискучі, від стримуваних сліз, і яскраві, як щойно відкритий келих шампанського у Рітц.

"І прости нам"

Слова далі не йшли. Голова чомусь стала важче, руки вже не могли її витримати і від того тремтіли. Чи від того?

"Я пробачаю тобі"

А він і не провинився. Це було безглуздо. Азірафель просто не знав, що сказати, і бовкнув першу ліпшу фразу, а та навіть не підходила атмосфері, котра зародилась у книгарні. Азірафель сказав, що пробачає його, хоча пробачати було ні за що. Кроулі просто вчинив як... ну, як Кроулі. Він завжди був вкрай щирим, це провявлялося у кожному сказаному ним слові, думках та діях, і Азірафель це в ньому цінує. Цінував, точніше.

"Забудь"

Він нічого поганого не зробив. Насправді, просто знову проявив себе і підтвердив, що все ще залишається собою. Навіть якщо це було неочікувано. Це було, саме так, лише неочікувано, та жодних негативних емоцій в самому Азірафелю не викликало. Він не образився, не розлютився та не постраждав фізично, за що ж йому було пробачати.

Але Кроулі зрозумів, що він насправді мав на увазі.

- Пробач мені...

Янгол опустив голову на стіл та мовчки заплакав.

Crowley and Aziraphale bring the THEM to the arcade and the demon learns an important lesson. Never EVER challenge Aziraphale to a shooting game. He might not like guns, but it doesn't mean he can't use them UwU

Yes in my mind Aziraphale is a pro at Doom while Crowley plays animal crossing all day everyday xD

CONTRAST

Allow me to explain this drawing a little. Although it's a pretty simple drawing, it has a lot of meaning to me. There is symbolism in it. This is how I see Aziraphale and Crowley at the beginning.

On one side we have Aziraphale. A pure being, an Angel, who is tilted completely towards his the light of God, the "Heaven side". And yet he doesn't look at it, he looks a little towards us, humans. He has compassion for us, he cares, more than he should. He is also not smiling at all. Yes he is an angel, he knows they are the good guys, but why killing so many people? Why banishing Adam and Eve for an apple? He trusts God, but doesn't understand.

On the other side we have Crowley, in the Shadow, in God's (and Aziraphale's) shadow. He is a demon, who is not welcome in the light. He doesn't look at his own side either, his all body is actually a little tilted towards us. Hell is ok but he likes humans more, he like earth, he is fond of us. He doesn't care much about his side, although he definetely doesn't care about Heaven either. And he is smiling because he likes the gray area he is in.
