*sweeps All Of My AU Ideas Under The Rug* Why Must I Be Called Out This Way?

Kidnapping whump can be so good, theres so many options,,,

Do they get drugged and wake up in an unfamiliar place?? Do they get a gun dug into their back and a whispered threat to comply?? Do they get jumped on the street and manhandled into a van??

What about once they’re there?? How do they react?? Are they stoic and unbreakable?? Defiant and quippy?? Or are they terrified, begging to be let go?? Do they cry?? Scream?? Or stay silent no matter what??

And what do their captors want?? Information?? Does b tell?? Or perhaps they want to send a message, to hurt someone close to b. Or maybe its personal, maybe they just want b.

What do they do to b?? Just rough them up a bit?? A couple strong punches or kicks?? Some threats, maybe?? Or do they go further?? Broken fingers, water boarding, whips?? Severed toes, extracted teeth, eye puncture?? Do they condition them or use non con or dehumanize them??

How does it end?? Are they rescued by their team, friends, caretaker or even enemy?? Do they escape on their own or with other victims?? Are they set free, after the captors are done with them?? Does their story end with the sweet release of death?? Or does it never end??

Ahhhhh, kidnapping,,,

Car whump

Like when your Whumper needs to get his Whumpee to a… secondary location.

Whumpee sitting in the front seat 

Perhaps cuffed to the door.

Whumper humming/singing along to the radio as they drive

Leather gloves on the gear stick

Leather gloves on the steering wheel, a finger lightly tapping it

Whumper doing that arm over the back of the seat thing when he puts the car in reverse

Whumper trying to make small talk, either failing spectacularly or they just can’t shut the hell up

Whumpee in the back

Whumper casting glances in the mirror

Adjusting the mirror so he can make direct eyecontact

Whumpee lying across the seats, their hands behind their back

Two 👏 Whumpers 👏 gloating, casting taunting glances and smirks back

Whumpee being forced to drive

There’s the classic of course, Whumpee getting into their car, adjusting the mirror and suddenly seeing Whumper in the backseat

“Drive.”

Or maybe Whumpee is greeted with a knife to the throat

Back 👏 seat 👏 driving 👏 (bonus points if Whumpee’s grinding their teeth and is seriously considering driving into a tree)

How about Whumper in the front seat?

Maybe some unwanted contact, a (gloved?) hand on their knee, or on Whumpee’s hand as they shift gears 

Whumpee in the trunk

I mean, that’s it really. Put your Whumpee in the trunk. Cuff ‘em, gag ‘em, put ‘em in the trunk.

For the truly mad Whumpers:

Driving in the opposite lane with a truck approaching and refusing to changes lanes until Whumpee obeys

Whump without a whumper

What happened to regular old whump? Here are some scenarios for prompts I kinda miss

Sickfics. Someone with pneumonia or a stomach flu. Give me glazed eyes and chills and being weak from not being able to keep anything down. Their caretaker being run into the ground trying to take care of them.

Injured by a nameless assailant. Shot from afar by rebels, mugged in the night, hurt in a hit in run. The struggling walk or run back to their loved ones and catching them when they can’t stay upright anymore. Being put to bed and finally feeling safe.

Clumsiness and random accidents. Falling down the stairs, fainting in the shower bc of exhaustion after a trying day (combo these with illness for mega bonus points), someone else falling on them.

Being hurt by a tough loved one who gets surprised or has traumatic flashbacks. Trying to hide it, being found out. The guilt!! The black eyes! Please.

Chronic illness or mental illness. I’m not trying to trivialize these - a lot of the great fics I’ve read seem to come from people who let out their own experiences on characters. Putting up with it, being strong but breaking down, trying to hide it, bad days.

Emotional h/c. Loneliness, guilt, bad memories being brought up at inopportune times and having to hide it until they have a second to breathe. Caretaker trying to comfort them once they realize, feeling guilty for not realizing, and eventually breaking through to them. Making a little progress that gives us hope.

Caught in bad weather. Hypothermia, heat exhaustion, deserts and rain and snowstorms. Complaining and being ignored until they faint.

Give me it all. Not that I don’t love torture fics (that sounds straight up sadistic) but I long for the simpler times. The magic writers made out of the everyday, that still tug at your heartstrings.

After having a nightmare, Character B wakes up fighting, deaf to the reassurances of Character A.

Whump idea

Whumpee who will prioritise literally anything over themselves.

Broken glass and their hand is cut up, dripping everywhere? Clean up first, then the hand. Extremely tired after a stress position, aching joints begging to relax? They need to go to work, rest will come later. They’re sick, unable to move with high fever, fogginess clouding their mind and slowing their tongue? The only reason they’re resting is because caretaker had forcibly put them to bed, after finding them lying halfway down the stairs, pleading with caretaker to let them continue work.

A whumpee who doesn’t care about what happens to them, but becomes petrified over something they fail? Mood.

“I’m sorry, what do you mean kind-of stabbed?!”

Character b sustains an injury but tries to ignore it, only to painfully peel back their clothing a couple days later to find a definitely infected wound.

One thing I love is how eager the White Collar cast is to do more of the show, like, a bunch of shows that run for a few seasons leave the cast kinda done with them but like for White Collar everyone wants to do more. You see a ton of actors who play a character like Neal Caffrey are kinda like “that was fun but I’m done” but Matt Bomer is like “yes pleaseeeee put me back in that fedora, LET ME WEAR THE FEDORA AGAIN, I love Neal Caffrey, I want to work with Tim Dekay, LETS DO MORE” and I think that says a lot about the show 😂

One of my favourite rare/underused whump tropes??

Locked in a freezer.

Especially those kind of ice chests?? Like freezer boxes?? Only just big enough for someone to fit in, not much room to move at all.

Someone beaten and shoved into one of those. The bad guy either locks it or shoves something heavy on top. Our character jolts their back into the lid, realising with horror that it won’t budge. Maybe they’re manhandled in, bound and gagged, praying for their friends to find them.

Or one of those walk in freezers in stock rooms?? Our character is moving some boxes around when whatever’s propping the door open shifts and the door swings closed, locked. Or perhaps our character is fighting our bad guy, who shoves them in and locks the door, making eye contact through the little window before leaving. Or maybe our characters friend or co-worker closes the automatically locking door, without realising someones in there.

Maybe I’ll go on about it another time but I think the concept is pretty niche, I never really see it

Hey everyone! I wanted to make a little introduction post so:

My names Tobias!

I’ve been kind of in the whump community for a year or so now but I’ve actively loved whump for years.

I’ve been a little hesitant about making a proper whump blog((bit scared my friends might find it)), but I decided its better than trying to secretly interact on my main and hope no one really sees lmao.

I’d like to interact more with the community, as well as start posting my own stuff. Maybe prompts, tropes or something similar. I also plan to make some whump guides for some favourite shows of mine that I don’t see much on here about.

One of the main points of making this blog was to be able to be a bit more open and honest about the kind of stuff I enjoy in whump, and so because of that I will say now that theres a trigger warning for the whole blog. I like a lot of darker things and I understand not everyone does. I also understand that theres a bit of stigma around some darker subjects in the community but I’ll talk about that another time.

But yeah, just thought I’d say hi :)) Hope to be interacting a lot more soon :00
