Inspired by a "redraw this as your ship" screenshot I saw on Pinterest, and while I wouldn't exactly call this my ship, I thought it would make for a fun, dramatic scene!
And I'm discovering that I be slightly addicted to drawing Rebel graffiti in aurebesh.

More art for the Vaderkin Creative Exchange 2024!
From @sinvulkt ‘s prompt “Vader being kidnapped by someone, not happy at all and loudly complaining”
This was pretty fun, i wonder what kind of hijinks these four can get into on Sakaar >:)
Bonus:
Wonder how disappointed Rex would be to hear that the 501st is now called “Vader’s Fist”
I've been listening to Brandon Sanderson's Wax and Wayne series at work, and the kandra naming pattern reminded me of Plo Koon in Star Wars, so then my brain was like, "PloKoon? Plo as a kandra?"
What if he takes a bag of spare bones with him on campaigns during the Clone Wars, and one of the Wolfpack finds it one day—
Trooper: "Hey buir, do we want to know why you have a bag of bones under your bed?"
Plo: "Ah... those were from Little 'Soka's first hunt."
Trooper: "Um... okay, that makes sense for the nuna bones, but some of these look human, and I'm getting a little concerned for the safety of the 501st."
And yeah, the nuna bones probably are from Ahsoka's first hunt. She gave them to him the way kids give grownups useless little things they find or make. Plo of course treasures them, and they're secretly his favorite bones.
Also, just saying, being a kandra would allow Plo to survive Order 66. He would just have to sneak off as a mistwraith.
(Not sure how you explain a Force-sensitive kandra, or how a kandra got out of the Cosmere and into the SW universe in the first place, but anyways.)
In which Piett continues to deal with his minor crisis, Ahsoka receives an interesting transmission over the Fulcrum channel, and a certain pair of bored twins begin to hatch a plot.

Hear me out.
Kyberpunk.
Like steampunk, only it's a Star Wars AU or whatever where they've somehow learned to farm kyber crystals, and have all sorts of kyber-dependent inventions. Like, kyber-augmented hyperdrives that dramatically cut travel times. Kyber is used in podracer engines, OH GEEZ what a horrible idea.
And what if there's a difference between typical farmed kyber and "natural" kyber, like from Ilum. The Ilum kyber is purer, or more powerful, or more efficient, or whatever, so of course there are people who aren't satisfied with farmed kyber and try to raid Ilum. The Jedi are pissed.
And every so often, a Jedi doesn't find their crystal in Ilum, because it's Force-only-knows-where, growing happily away in a farmer's kyber beds. And then there's a wild goose chase all over the galaxy with a gaggle of initiates and their chaperone or a master and padawan hunting down every single kyber farm until they find one with an unusually powerful farmed crystal. Once it's found, they have to convince the farmer that they shouldn't have to pay for it, because it's meant for the baby Jedi. Nice farmers will cooperate. But some are unscrupulous and decide to jack the price.
And don't even get me started on the counterfeiting issues. You can find people selling anything that vaguely resembles crystal as kyber. It's a major problem. And everybody thinks the Jedi should be the ones to take care of it, because kyber is "their thing." The Jedi are not only pissed, but also very tired. One particularly desperate individual even tried grinding up some [farmed] kyber in case it might make a good headache remedy. [It didn't. But some padawan got a holo of it, and now ground kyber is the latest holonet sensation of the year, a la Tide pods and Nyquil chicken. The Temple healers are livid, by the way.]
(This idea is free to a good home, because I will probably never write it. If anyone adopts it, though, I'd love to see what you do with it!)
And yes, Luke's "blanket" is in fact Vader's cape. Love that trope!
Used Ohuhu Honolulu and Copic Sketch alcohol markers after outlining in black ink, plus Derwent Inktense blocks for the walls and floor. I like using alcohol markers, although the colors are more intense than I would prefer. Currently only have limited colors to work with, so I'm looking forward to getting some subtler shades and earth tones!
Am incredibly pleased with how the kids turned out, especially since I sketched them out late at night and without references. Turned out much better than expected.
Productively procrastinating on writing a difficult piece of chapter by practicing with alcohol markers, and decided to draw Padmé because why not?
I used a reference, and eh... guess it kind of looks like her? Not sure why her hair came out looking weirdly 1930s/1940s-ish, or something, though. But I'm pretty happy with the drawing on the whole, especially since it was just supposed to be a practice thing, and pleased that I was able to achieve more texture than in the Vader and twins alcohol marker drawing from last week.
This was done with the Ohuhu Honolulu 104-count marker set. I like the set pretty well so far, although more cool browns would be nice, and a navy blue wouldn't be amiss.
Green background was added digitally as an afterthought, using Krita.
A couple of questions that my biology major brain won't let go of this morning:
Okay, so I hate the midichlorian explanation and generally try to forget about it, but... if we say that midichlorians do exist, then... they're living organisms in one's bloodstream, yes? So, is there ever something akin to an autoimmune disorder, where the immune system tries to destroy the midichlorians? A person could theoretically lose Force sensitivity.
Force suppressants. How do they work? Are there drugs which target different pathways, or just one drug with a specific target? Do they have side effects? Have they been tested for toxicity? Is it known they are non-carcinogenic? How the heck would you carry out drug testing? Ask a group of Force sensitives if they'd be willing to test the efficacy of this thing that would take away their power—oh, that'll work real well.
Are there therapeutic applications for Force suppressants? Like, what if darksiders were put on suppressants? If it cuts off their connection to the Force, couldn't that, probably mixed with psychological/psychiatric interventions, provide a way to help them sort of reset and step away from the dark side? (And yeah, that's an ethical kettle of fish, right there. Drugging of individuals without consent, but considering that said individuals could be incredibly damaging to the galactic population if left untreated....)
Are there changes in midichlorian gene expression/physiology following dark side use? Are there drugs which could be used to reverse these effects, and would that in turn have any effect on the state of the Force user?
Any thoughts? Suggestions? Cool sw science questions to share?
A hodgepodge of things relating to Fortune's Rule, my Star Wars fix-it fic: behind-the-scenes-type writing stuff, maybe some sneak-peekish bits, art that may or may not make it into the story, and thoughts and questions about the SW universe. Plus, probably, some memes and other random stuff as well!
