So, I had no idea that Papyrus is apparently a hated font? I thought it was pretty cool-looking when I was a kid. Trying to use it now, though, yeah, there's something just not quite right about it. Thought this article was fascinating because of its in-depth analysis of the font. Knowing nothing beforehand about font construction, it was really neat to see all the considerations that can go into font design.
In an nutshell: Papyrus, unlike Comic Sans, is actually a pretty well-structured/balanced font. The flaw is that it's too perfect: intended to look "handmade," yet every letter is identical the other letters of its kind, and so it comes off looking fake.
Do you ever have a writing idea that you're pretty meh about, and you're not sure you can make it work, and you're beginning to think you should just forget about it... but then you scribble out one scene, just to mess around... and it's adorable, it just works so well, it's like magic, and then you can't bear the idea of these characters not getting this scene, so you have to include it? And because you have to have that one scene, you're now totally sold on the idea that seemed meh just minutes before?

I'm also excited to share the artwork I created for @artmelody as part of the 2024 Vaderkin Creative Exchange! 🌟 I had a fantastic time working on this pieces and hope it brings as much joy and inspiration to you as it did to me.
Thank you @artmelody for being a wonderful match. Check out the final artwork below and let me know your thoughts!

A little vignette with Anakin and Ahsoka watching the twins spar on Naboo.
Just checking in and seeing how Fortunes Rule is going ❤️🙏🏽❤️🙏🏽🥹😅
It's going. Slowly, but surely! 😅 Nobody is having a good time in this chapter (except the twins, of course), and it's proving rather challenging to write for some reason.
Thanks for checking in! 💛
And here's a little snippet from the chapter :)
The second morning, Beru’s call came while Padmé was pacing her room and rehearsing the finer details of her cover story in preparation for the day’s meetings. “Have you found them?” Padmé blurted, the moment she answered her comm. “No.” Beru’s voice was subdued. “There’s still no sign. No one’s even seen the speeder. Of course, if they left it somewhere, it’s probably been picked up by Jawas, or some lowlife looking for a ride.” Unless, of course, speeder and twins been collectively taken possession of first. Frankly, that seemed just as likely. Padmé continued to pace. “Owen checked the slave markets in Espa,” Beru added. “He didn’t see them there.” “That’s…” Padmé started, but she couldn’t finish the sentence. That’s good. It was good, wasn’t it? Owen hadn’t seen the twins in the Mos Espa slave markets. That was good. Unless it just meant they had already been— A wave of blank terror threatened to overwhelm her at the thought of her children being sold as slaves. They couldn’t have been. They just couldn’t. But if they had… I might never see them again. They might grow up as slaves. Unless someone discovers what they are, and Palpatine finds out, and—
Not sure if this has been asked or not, but how would canon Luke and Leia react to meeting your au versions of them?

In which Ahsoka meets the fam, and Obi-Wan and Ventress do a bit of reconnaissance.
This started out as a vocabulary assignment way back in middle school, with the article "Venerable Citizen Exonerated: A Follow-Up to 'Mr. P.G. Tips in Hot Water.'" Then I ended up continuing it into a whole mini-newspaper personifying various teas in the kitchen, and their society and escapades. It's been an off-and-on project over... egads, the last ten years, I think. (Sheesh!) Anyway, thought I'd post the more recent issues of the paper (those from the past 3 years). The earlier ones are a bit sillier, the ads aren't as well-done, and the quality of the writing is lower.
A hodgepodge of things relating to Fortune's Rule, my Star Wars fix-it fic: behind-the-scenes-type writing stuff, maybe some sneak-peekish bits, art that may or may not make it into the story, and thoughts and questions about the SW universe. Plus, probably, some memes and other random stuff as well!
