one of my fav things about spiderverse that i havent really seen anyone talking about is rio and jeff. like they were SO good in this movie, all their funny glaces at each other and miles during the conference, jeff bracing himself to jump and then taking the stairs instead the same way miles does in itsv, rio being terrible at speeches, her talk with miles on the balcony and “don’t take him from me!!!” and their conversation with gwen at the end… like miles takes after his parents so much and they love him so unconditionally and they were just so wonderful in this film!!

cats being capable of understanding accidents and even giving you a little head bonk to let you know you're still cool makes it infinitely funnier that they don't understand when you're trying to help them

Has really strange humor and is almost always smiling. didn’t bat an eye at a companion being a vampire, only asking if he could study the extent of the affliction. didn’t bat an eye at the time-bomb in the wizard, only asking if he could also study that and possibly try to remove it?? somehow comes up with various solutions to help calm your other companion’s infernal engine only using the bare recourses you have.

he mutters in a language no one understands and withers said something about this guy have multiple souls???? you aren’t even sure if he’s human anymore.

with pavitr having his hair out of the mask, and hugging gayatri when he saves her, and having The Worst attempt at disguising his voice out of all the spiderkids (which is saying something, when you're up against miles and gwen) - i love the idea that everybody in mumbattan absolutely knows that pavitr prabhakar is spider-man, but all have an unspoken agreement to never actually acknowledge it, because he's sweet and helpful and god, he's just a kid.

tourists and visitors and people just moving there will gesture to his very visible and easily identifiable hair and open their mouths to comment on it, and the nearest Seasoned Member of the Pavitr Prabhakar Defense Committee™ will slap a hand over their mouth and wrangle them in the opposite direction before they can blow his cover and get him arrested

The pinnacle of gender envy for me is specifically gl!Charlie slime demon. Like I want to be a grubby slimy guy that kidnaps people and forces them to cook me slime.

Characters' handwriting in rise (in episode order)!

"Mystic mayhem". Splinter's handwriting is very unique and cool! Love how angular it is, his "o"s are more like triangles

"Origami Tsunami". It's not shown who wrote these signs (multiple turtles?). We see mikey put the "paper on sale" sign up but we don't see him write it. However, after gathering all the samples of the turtles' handwriting, i couldn't find one of leo's and this sloppiness doesn't quite match donnie's, raph's or mikey's, so i'm inclined to say this is leo's handwriting

"Shell in a Cell". Donnie's signature. Donnie writes in cursive in "origami tsunami" too

"Stuck on you". Raph's consistently shown to write in all caps. Also he wrote this on his right palm. Is raph left handed? But! In "pizza puffs" raph writes with his right hand. Maybe raph's ambidextrous orrrrr the artists just forgot

"Pizza Pit". Mikey's handwriting. His letters are offset. How interesting! Mikey writes in all caps in "bullhop" but a bit neater

"Warren & hypno, sitting in a tree". I LOVE that we can see this evolution of april's handwriting through the years, or at least her signature, from elementary school to highschool. I also love that we see her without her jacket

This list of shown handwriting is far from comprehensive, unfortunately, but handwriting is a great opportunity for characterization that i think's often overlooked. Idk if the crew sat down and chose unique handwriting styles for each character but that'd be cool if they did! I noticed most of the handwriting in rise is all caps across characters

Keep your messaging simple:

“Trump fired everyone in charge of airplane safety, and a week later planes started crashing into each other.”

That’s it. That’s the messaging. Don’t get bogged down disputing Trump’s false claims. Just blame him, in short and repeatable sentences.
