WHY IS DRAWING HANDS SO FUCKING HARD

think I’ll take a break now from art’ing and brush up on my knowledge of how things work and connect… specially arms… urgh…..

today’s art:

—okay so I just did really VIDEOS!!!! and then went to through this rabbit hole and found.. well I guess first I should start with. I really needed to learn how arm connects to the shoulder asince I think I just forgot????and my gosh I found this super good comprehensive video that did demonstration and everything. it was really good

—honestly after that I went through rabbit hole of seeing his other videos and then well… I found this super long skull video and was watching and then it started to do a draw with me sides of skull and I did want to follow through so I just decided to do that later when I could draw with… and well then.. I just went off to do other stuff

—i don’t plan on drawing today and if i was, probs just general studies but ahaha i was on x and it really inspired to draw my otp and SO I PLANNED TO. but then it turned into redraw of someone else’s art and then into prac ahahah.

—the first one wasn’t great at all… and I just wanted to focus on the pose instead!!! and see what I was doing wrong etc. One of videos I watched made me think about that. Talking about focusing on analytic and like looking at what you drew and finding out what you did wrong and etc. And I do think that was good thing to be aware off and so I did that… and well even if I don’t think the last one turned out amazing or anything I do think it made me realise stuff. like how in the pose it was the arm that was stretching out to the knee…

—and so since I liked doing this n thought was fun/nice I did another pose study! And oh man the hands were HARD tin this one I still have no idea on how to fix it and just gave up in the end lolllllllll. Arms. Arms were hard. Why do I keep saying hands when im talking about arm lollll

—but one think I did realise that I was doing wrong was when drawing lower part, in trying to get the legs right, I forgot about the butt that was actually sitting down. and cut it off since the crouch wouldn’t be visible… and so it was helpful in remembering stuff like that. and trying to visual posing better: like it made next time to remember to think of whole pose and how it interactions with whatever it’s doing and even bits that can’t be seen. like being aware of stuff like that is really important.

—and well after that wasn’t feeling like doing any more pose studies and well… I SKETCHED IN THE IDEA FOR THE COMIC I HAD???? very happy about that

—okay lol I did think of doing some kind of script but cba to and was keeping in mind this comic tips/tutorial I came by that stuck with me yesterday. for first panel I very obviously can’t draw backgrounds and just couldn’t be bothered to look up refs and just scribbled in general idea I had for it. and for the next one I tried hard to make sure my figure was reading well (to me) like the general idea I wanted for it and later in did feel in general idea of background which im happy about.

—the initial idea that started this was the next two panels. ahaha I really just wanted to draw him being tied. can’t believe they did that. I mean I can but still lololol. and I do like the close up in next panel from diff angle. also this made me concious of how expressions ain’t my strong suit lmaoooo.

—and well after that is where things started to fall apart. like I had general idea in my head of what I wanted but I feel like the pacing n etc wasn’t great at all but I think it was good to get the general idea and everything tdown… so im happy that I actually sketched in the idea for comic. soooo happy. ^^

—and welllll remember juv art from yesterday. I realised after a bit that she doesn’t like she was sitting at all lololol despite that being intention. cuz I feel like I was so focused on getting the length of leg correct that I forgot that she was sitting so her knee would be higher. and well. I just wanted to fix that.

—added a bench because why not. and honestly im…..not sure that I did fix it completely. It still seems off…? but ehhhh i got her to look like she was sitting so that’s a win.

—I wasn’t planning to draw anymore but while taking screenshot for this post…I ended up just drawing some figure pracs and ahahah these didn’t go well at all. it was alright. But like mabnnnn even while keeping in mind what the video said (the dots around the arm meaning to represent scapula so just to keep in mind while drawing the arm) but ehhjhhhb I feel like like my arms isn’t at alll good. like I feel like I just forgot everything. so I think it’s best to watch videos of people drawing …. that always helps.

—and well but I didn’t want to end it there and wanted to draw something nice……to finish the the day with… something that would feel nice about. and yeah no that didn’t happen. 😔😔😔

—I thought while it’s been a while since I drew my lil srda too<3 I should do it but yeah no. it went horribly. well that’s kind of an exaggeration. more like I just…? don’t like….? I think it might have to do with the brush and how out of prac I man with drawing her hair… cuz man I have def drawn better srdas in my time. I feel like it might be her expression so. I changed it but it wasn’t. So I did an overdraw just because but it wasnt lollll. and I do think it’s funny how her expression gets more sadder. like the way I felt (more disappointed) when drawing it LMAO

I actually like the first one drew the most…… 😔😔😔

alright I have to say it’s kind of funny that I have been wanting to do some lil art like figure pracs but honestly couldn’t be bothered to try to, just no energy/want for it. but as soon as I opened MM to reread for fic purposes…. I got the urge to draw them….!

—okay to be honest… I already wanted got urges to draw the characters before while reading but I was in my Art Needed Break then sooooo. time to do so now and OH MY GOD. I want to squeeze Ian cuz my guy why the f was so diff to draw :’ I wanted to cry at one point but also I do like how pretty he is… n that eyelash… I love drawing his eyes… too… and I think(?) I’ve finally got the hang of drawing him…

—and HA…. the problem really lines on how tch this art style (not really trying to copy the artsyle but get close to it to get more likeness of characters….) and yeah it is hard to get… also it doesn’t help the hair are like complicated shit. well more complicated than the scribbles I do 😫 I think I might have to actually study to do the hair properly 😔 but I at least I got the gist of it……?

—also I do think it’s funny how it took me more than one face drawing to try and get Ian sort of right but lol with sliver boy, I drew him once and was like…?! I already felt like I got the likeness. that was pretty funny. I mean I kinda did feel like I got likeness sort offff for angel boy but hmmmmmmm. it was yknow not enough. also I think it was hard trying to capture for him the feeling of his which was like “narrow/pointy/small” and not to mention the bumps that the artists likes to use…

—also his eyes are pretty hard to get down, I mean I kinda got the gist but it’s different when drawing it with the face. I feel like my separate lil eye studies were better… either way. looking at some fanart, I realised that it’s fine…?! anyways if I don’t get it alll right. it’s cool. I think I just need to get the hair exactly right or more right and that’s fine 😌. I drew him without looking at the source and yknow I think I got him somewhat down also I do think it’s so funny seeing the both of them in together since angel boy looks more finished/pretty then sliver boy LMAO. I guess it’s obvs which one I like drawing more despite how harder it is…. BUT I WILL GET TO YOU SLIVER BOY….

—anyways I think this was fun to do anyways. I don’t usually draw in this style (lol im influenced a lot by naru), but it was fun… and I really do like how the eyes look…. it’s so nice drawing in them… they’re soooo pretty. while🍥 artsyule holds my heart, I have to say ft artsyle is genuinely one of my faves. every time I see it I want so badly draw all the characters!!!! (especially want to get down to drawing dragon fire boy and armour girl!!!!!! ahhhh they’re gonna be so<3 cuz honestly I think that im getting well I wouldn’t say bored but I think that my recent juv stuff isn’t really sparking the same funness as it was in the beginning… I don’t think I’ve really captured what drew and made me love her design so freakin much and just makes me kinda sad ngl… but I WANNA GET THERE ONE DSY!!!! also man I really have to draw armour!!!!!!! girl!!!!! her design is just. idk WHAT it is but second fav… I think it’s just her general vibe ahhhhhh… also weirdly. I love dragon fire boy for his hair 💀 me? wanting to draw something? for hair? yeah I know NDJDKKD but I really love how hair…… I honestly did draw these two (dragon fire boy n armour girl years ago but ah sadly I lost those art but I remember drawing them…..) anyways yeahhhh….!!!!! im excited to get them I mean. I did doodle in dragon fire boy during ft doodle session but it wasn’t really proper stuff.

—to not get derailed: I’ve been only drawing MM faces to get used to it and it’s been really just straight on to…. Like yeahhhh I drew side view and 3/4 which uhhhhh wasn’t great but yeahhhh I probs should prac that but cba too. Also I kinda want to more draw them in poses…… I kinda have general idea of a scene to draw….. but also cba to do that right now. my energy is low. I probs should get back to rereading and lol to that fic’ing idea… 8.44 also ahhh I do want to get back to my onoe face prac (I WILL GET HIM DOWN) so I can draw one of my fav otps ever hehehe and be the only person in fandom lmaooooo. 8.45

okay all I have to say today was super insane???? wtf…..

—uhhhh so from yesterday, i just thought after a while id continue drawing…….. and you know i looked at my prev art stuff and saw how I’ve been drawing srda… especially her eyes and i just wanted to try that again…. also since i saw I used to draw in that water brush i thought why don’t I try again you know… and yknow. the first srda was…….fine……. but not really a fan ITS ONLY WHEN I TEIED COLOUR!!!! THAT WOW….. IT REALLY GOT<3 I think i did try colour in this brush before but i didn’t intially like it PROPERLY BECAUSE I DIDNT FULLY DO SOMETHJH IN IT!!!! anyways this was the start of something<3 i went ham ahahah. like the second srda wasn’t the best either (man i need to work on my face angles) but MY GOSH the third srda is fave 💞💞💞 (seriously i want to forever draw like her like this!!!!!) (it’s so perfect…..her hair…. expression just. Yes) I also didn’t want to go out of prac with figures so i just drew in a redraw of panel and pleasantly surprised at how she came out….? hehe…. <3 I did realise I see figure small lmaoo…. I wanted her face to be bigger but oh well and of course as soon as as I be drawing her I get the urge to draw the two… srda + chou… I wanted a lil peck idea… and man it was kind of hard to get profile and also wondering how to draw her from side profile and to keep the chubbiness…. but yeshhhhh it was a good prac. speaking of the eyes, i meant like before i used to had in some lower eyelash or whatever and it looked so nice i gotta had to add it back in also lmaooo the side profile one i was drawing (the peck) got a lot skewed since i wasn’t really putting in a lot of effort anyways and lol her eye turned out really big than i wanted it to be…. anyways yeah.

—anyways after that… I wanted to draw more 🦋 and uhhhhhh this one wasn’t really going well… I botched up her face and tried to fix it anyway cuz of that im really meh over also lol I tried to make her arm do diff lol… or smth since I just keep the arms straight in bust shots… I really need to practice bust shots lol… btw heh the blue background was a homage to my old drawings… I always tended to just add a blue background (if you can’t tell, it’s my go to colour for a lot of things) (honestly my fav colour at this point but I wouldn’t really say fav… it’s like a Homebase fav. that n pink/purples I like to really draw in…) (once I discovered drawing in purple I was a goner ahahaha)

—anyways of course I had to see how 🌸 looked in this brush…..! wait… didn’t I do juv first…? man this is why I liked to do a write up on thoughts as I do it but I was lazy… I have terrible memory lmao. anyways right I did do juv to see her and then skkr… idk if I liked the juv so when I tried to compare her to the normal procreate pencil brush I use… I actually liked that better than the pencil brush lmaooooo. also did other juv in diff brushes just to comapeee… and just to draw her lol… I do like her in more textured brushes….

—and then!!!!! 🌸 I had to get her in…. And im really liking it….? the first one was skewed as obvs… im bad at trying to get her hair right lmaooooo…. but then I wanted to do a redraw of manga from gaiden just to see and cuz I wanna get her more right and I do really like it….? def one of the best skkr I’ve drawn….. but hmmm at the same time it’s not really the type of skkr I want to draw I guess… but I’ve been thinking I wanted to draw that type of skkr but I guess I realised I don’t …. anyways these came out well and did make me very happy in realising that i can draw her in a way that I do like…. :’ I guess major thing that helped was the eyes since I looked at prev art that I drew with srda i realised that I didn’t used to draw the eyes in one line go… and makes sense since when I’d try to draw eyes in one ago… it didn’t really look good… also what’s so hard about skkr was her damn pupils… it’s hard to draw pupils as dots without it looking scary after all or super off but I think im getting hang of it now… it helps to have a good brush too…

—I wasn’t going to draw anymore and take a break but I guess I am just on a roll this morning lmao …. the urge to draw is Real… anyways so since I was playing homage to some of my old drawings I THOUGHT I HAD TO DRAW SOME ⏳!!!! since SEEIOUSLY!!!! I drew like a bunch of him in Feb I think.. 2022 let me check.. no it was in 2024!!!! seriously I think it was the most I drew a character in a freakin day… got obessed with his design and needed to draw him and now kinda sad that I got over that…!!!!! but seriously!!!!! drawing him was what made me discover some of my fav brushes ever…..!!!!! and since it’s his bday month i had to draw him in…. i really was liking the diff colour drawing for each character so i wanted to get that in too…

—and hello????? why is that one so good…???? I’m seriously shocked!!! I don’t really like the first one I drew like lol why his face look like that lmaooo but second one….?! since I had especially just scribbled in his clothes…?! I think it’s cuz the face was so fun to draw in… and I made it more intense than the anime screencap I ref’ing… in comparison the third I drew was so disappointing lmaoooo. it didn’t even turn out to look like him… but I do think it looked more like him before I ended up trying to shade in some colour… also this red colour is super fun to colour him in…….

—anyways I decided to colour in that one…. and hey….?! it’s coming to look really nicely….?! what the…?! I tried to add some shading too but intially didn’t like it and remembered from that colouring session like days ago… that this artist used some diff colouring for the shading like teal/green and I went with green to see how it’d work and tried to make sure it was darker than the skin so it’d be shading but I think it’s when I used the multiply layer and lowered the opacity that it went YOOOOO. I’m really liking it!!!! the colours look super fun together…. im not completely satisfied with it… maybe if i darkened the overall picture… hey wait let me try that now… (20.10) yeah………No. even when I changed the blue to be green multiply. nah didn’t work

—-anyways that ⏳ drawing REALLY MOTIVATED ME… To Want to draw a proper piece for him but honestly I had like no ideas and then remembered I could borrowse through stuff to get ideas but I haven’t…. Really…. I don’t think my browsing was the best and it’s still on my mind but oh well. I do hope I draw something since it seems like a waist not to…

—I did get around to doing daily figure pracs….! this session kinda sucked though lmaoooooo. like I didn’t really have a general idea of what I really wanted and it was kinda boring… I worked on shoulders since I figured it’s something I needed to work on and did some hands (which uhhhh I think I need to study back hands properly urgh…..) and I was kinda basically all of the place and lol I attempted doing figure prac in that water brush and uh yeah. Didn’t like. Anyways wasn’t feeling it really after filling this page so I didn’t…. But I do like with some of the arm prac I tried to add on face later and that was kinda fun even if portions was sometimes skewed… since it got to doing poses that I don’t usually do if I start with torso and stuff

—this is making me wanna do an exercise where I draw the hand first….. hmmmm. that would be fun and I do want to get a gist of how things are portioned to each other and work in relation so I can jump around in my drawing and draw things from different places and ahahah anyways this session making me realise how weak I am honestly in just everything in knowledge and stuff and I think it’s best to practice the bones and urgh the leg especially since while I have a gist. a lot of my figure drawings feel like guess work which I don’t is working that much for me

—-after this!!!! I did so much video !!!!! watching!!!! found this good in depth anatomy stuff too… that I just watchedddddd. a lot. and I think honestly I just want to watch a lot of anatomy videos to just see and get more in depth and then more closely study the bones in a general way so I have more awareness of them and then try to apply knowledge in my figure pracs….

—-one thing I have to say it’s a shame!!!! I didn’t draw ssk today!!!!!!!!!!!’ :/ I wanna draw him but also I really can’t be bothered right now………. Hopefully before day ends (now:20.22) I will get to doodle him and get some idea for a ⏳ drawing….. I do have some ideas but it gets in other characters and honestly can’t be bothered trying to learn how to draw his sibs too… for a drawing but I make it make it an idea for me to draw hmmm. anyways yeah. I think I will just go into more videos right now and just. get myself immersed in everything….!!!!!

—ah well I didn’t do anyhhhbg else today but I was getting more immersed in trying to study poses/figures and I think I got an exercise that will help… I really want to learn how to get angles right and the relation of pelvis n ribcage so I think it’s good to study poses and try to get how the pelvis would look like in that angle and help using 3D model of a pelvis that I can move around… cuz I really need to study tilt and shit… want to get more in depth study of knowledge so that all left is the drawing part…. Ah well didn’t explain this well but who cares

—I wasn’t gonna do more art…., I was tired but know what I watched some videos and came back to this artist that helped a lot and I think thinking of legs of like wrapping forms… helped instead of drawing the individual parts of leg but just thinking about the two parts wrap… helped… I just wanted to first get down how it was like (and did so initially roughly with finger) and kind of… helped start a figure session getting out the pen

—main things I wanted to keep in mind and think about was wrapping form and the way the body parts (rib waist pelvis) stack on top of each other… im still weak in the area of waist/pelvis but I did like this session. also focused on the hands too like the video helped a lot. like instead of trying to construct the hand with fingers from knuckles but instead… drawing where thumb/index/pinky come out from the hand helps so much more. still need to practice more on that but felt like hands were more easier that way…

—I did get bored of it and wanted to do other stuff and so it came to mind to go to the 🧊 terrible day comic… and yeah I needed to ref back to the manga to see how things looked like (the setting) but honestly I couldn’t bothered so I decided to just focused on the pose that was there and draw it more better(?) and ah…. Problem I had was like I didn’t know how to draw this hunched over position well… with hands in pocket. But one thing I realised was that the head is more lower and the traps/shoulders start to the ear but was just completely lost on how to get the legs right and gave up decided to look at some refs for later lmao.

—and then well I wanted to see how the other pose would fair now… and I think main thing is thinking about how the arms would look like if I a person was tied up like that. like would it be more in or just very close to body but more straight to show that it’s being bound… and then well I did want to scribble in the other panel more but ehhh I think I still need to work on that posing stuffs But yeshhhh.

—and then I went to the hina+boru idea…. I did want to have a specific idea but the posing or whatever I didn’t think of yet so time to scribble in stuffs… the first idea was fine but felt like I didn’t know what to do with boru? so I went with another idea but this time while it was good it didn’t convey what I wanted… I think it’s best that I think of more scenarios of what the vibe is cuz I know what like a “younger mom who isn’t mom yet meets future son” but not like an actual time travel thing but just having them interact…. So I think it’s good to think on it before doing this

—also it was kinda fun to just scribble in stuff… and not mattering how it looks just getting in the pose and stuff… and mannnnn trying to get posing of legs was hard once again. I lol haven’t spent time on them so that makes sense but still 💀💀💀

—also it was a bit trying to figure out the proportions of 🔩 and I think I made him more childlike than I wanted in the second pose idea….? But well. At least it’s a cute image to try to try and draw properly later (by later I mean sometime in the long future lol) even if it’s not wanting I was going for.

—okay after that I was still wanting to sketch in character ideas and this one came to mind…. Originally it was a comic idea but my gosh while I do have all of the comic kinda scrippted out in my notes I could not be asked to do all of that. so I focused on the part that was the intial idea anyways and what the comic was born from.

—tried to get the feel of what I wanted and it was mostly trying to get closeness of him leaning over 🦋and was a bit lost on the arms since they aren’t an important part of the scene so I tried to for mitsu… get like something where it feels like he’s leaning over so his arms would probs in that direction to balance and for her it was hard cuz ha….. i had no idea what to do with her arms? I knew they were eating… ahhh I got already an idea for his arms(1.37) since they were eating maybe it’s already on the table… I think it would help to get an image of what they’re already doing like in scene which helps in knowing what the arm are doing before he leans over

—i think the direction of her face feels off but something to work on along with perspective too.

—it felt really nice when I added in more details to the scene to feel like they are in a scene and I think I might scrapped the comic idea after all. since it was never intially meant to be a comic and I think it’s unnecessary…? If I wanted more scene I think I can have be more loose… instead of establishing an entire moment with having lol panels of them just in the burger place. too much trouble and not interested in doing so right now

—also tried to add in the other characters that would be in the scene (which I think might be playing games) but ehhhh I think they should be probs more overlapping? Them? And the perspective on them… I thought that you’d see more of their hands so more of looking down so I probs need to fit the 🦋🐍 to fit it more… but also I don’t think the other characters matter so I think it would be fun to a composition where the other characters are completely in foreground so you can only see their large arm or whatever and in between that you can see 🦋🐍 … I think that would be fun to try…! 1.42

—I did want to do more character posing stuff/ideas but too tired for that and ahhh really want to try colouring and the whole ⏳thing back again (might just make a bday illustration then thinking about pose) (since it’s what shit… tmmr. lol) also want to drawwwww ss + skkr since i saw this art that GOT ME REALLY EXCITED also made me think ahh… I do want to draw skkr more like her canon design but not like completely? like that’s the vibe I want. and also I want to try colouring her hair and the pink right now. but that’s for later if I get around to doing it.

but mainly im really happy i got to sketching/doodling some character stuff since that’s WHAT I WANT…!!!!! YES!!!!! 1.45

—3.13 im really supposed to be sleeping and want to sleep… but also I can’t be bothered to and watched some waist videos and found this leg video that looks good but don’t have attention span for it so I think I will watch it later… but I think I’ve got? A sort of idea to tackle waist stuff but also too tired right now to try and draw stuff… or more like I don’t have energy to get up and draw lol

—yeah I didn’t do any of that. I went offff and well then the time came to be like evening when I realised I haven’t done any more art stuff and was like right okay I don’t think there’s any more for today but then…!!!! while lookin at fanart stuff on x…!!!! I got sudden urge to prac…figure….!! I wanted to get better<333 but I just couldn’t be bothered to do…. but then when I got this idea while browsing through the 🔥🔵 discord… and I just wanted to draw…?! and heh thankfully as soon as i opened procreate, what I saw was the figure session I left on… heh… so I just thought might as well get some figure practice in first…!

—one thing to say is that wow… I can really feel my improvement. to be able to see a pose and then draw in diff way.. trying to make it more dynamic…. just…!!! yo!!!! and also to see how I did balance wrong first and to be able to fix it…!!!!!! im so improving heh.

—saw this other pose I thought was interesting and by interesting hard too lmao. I think I got that the neck was important point… and I just the legs??? yeahhh. Also I thought I got the way the pose felt more relaxed in the ref…. I should get back to this one to study later day….

—and lol as usual me telling my self to prac arms 😔😔😔 i did do some lil hand studies in the corner…. and have to say they don’t look completely so that’s a win in my books. I was following this tip I saw in a video to draw the outer most fingers first (thumb, index, pinky) and like it def helped a lot with spacing but much need to work on, still ahaha.

—and then hehehe for the highlight of the day…!!!!! man I had this idea for it and went to doodling immediately for the pose and yeah I wasn’t at all satisfied of how it was and kinda did an adjustment seeing if it was because they weren’t closer and I think it still felt off…? and so I looked the mental image that I had and I realised ah. well. it’s cuz the one in my mind is so much more dynamic and fun and focuses on 🦩’s face rather then the actually pulling. so. then it did help pausing down and jotting down stuff to more better actualise stuff (also trying to draw the arm coming from neko’s shoulder back view was so???? also I did have a plan on having two panel thingy where I do a reveal of neko’s face so I thought it would make sense for this to have back view of his head.

—and so this time..!!!!! yes it came out soooo much better as you can the third attempt. also this time I realised while drawing that it would be better to not have the arms as the focal point but it’s actually 🦩’s face…!!!!! and I wanted some pull/push action like it looks like he’s actuallyyyy reeling him in you know and I think having the hands there is good decision for that. and I don’t know if I was gonna have legs in there at first but I think it adds to it…!!! also ahahah tried to make it look like one of his legs were going backwards like he’s actually pulling him in. many thanks to saito-sensei in that one correction video that helped so much ahahahh. but I did feel like something was still off

—so i made another adjustment of trying to bring Neko closer and hey!!! I think that made it feel much better. also before i forget to mention when initially redrawing the pose and doing second attempt for dynamic stuff… i had the arms much lower intially…!

—as you can see the first version was sooo much lower and I was like yeah no that wouldn’t work and did it higher and ahahahah in final version it got to be around 🦩’s ear since I felt like it best pushed the action of pulling. (And lol in my other adjustments, I made it even more)

—alright while I was happy with this final-ish version hmmm. I thought maybe it would be better to have neko be more 3/4 back view and tbh yeah I didn’t really know what I was doing here but I went to diff page and tried to redraw over it since it was soooo difficult trying to erase and get that more 3/4 view and it just wasn’t working cuz I realised it wouldn’t make sense either???? I’d have to change 🦩’s pose too??? I think??? Anyways instead it just turned into a redraw cleaner version…? Of the pose and yeah I didn’t like it at first since with the redraw I kinda just did the overall silhouette which made it flatter

—but I did do adjustments to neko’s other arm. making more out there so it adds to more of the fluid gesture and ah I think the reason the overall body felt flat was because it does straight…? and so like I made his legs more out so it looks like he’s being pulled it. and I think I did it? also tried to draw in the back a bit but my gosh do I need more practice with that stuff kinda treading adding in clothes over back… hmmm… I need to practice some more hahaha. backs are HARD!

—anyways there was lil time of day left so I thought to get in the other part of the idea in… and wellllll. Last one is the more finalised version. Had the idea of having neko’s reaction and intially trying to draw pose from diff angle is harddd but I think the way I approached it was like not the best? I just went to drawing it starting from his face and was terrible decision since I was like ??? and yeah it was def all falling apart but i still kept on scribbling it in just wanting to get the overall down. and i do think it’s funny seeing it in comparison to the other version lmaooo. like???? what is even happening in the pose. trying to draw from diff angle is hard and even more especially when you don’t visualise stuff properly and just go straight into it especially LOL when this is a character interaction pose honestly.

—also lol i did have lil character more expression face but deleted it cuz i was just????? on how to do the pose from diff angle i probs should have realised here that starting from face was terrible idea ahaha. but overall heheh best way to end day. I felt soooo accomplished n nice heheheh.

surprise….! I actually went and did it lollll and I was only planning to just prep it for future me to do… but since I was already there… I thought I might as well and hmmm. there’s a lot im dissatisfied with.

—I did enlarge the redraw fix (also while looking through the Timelapse I noticed my initial first drawing wasn’t bad at all…?! it was only when I was drawing in legs that somehow I skeweed it up)

—but I realised that the redraw fix was good but it wasn’t what the pose I wanted… I wanted the focus to be the large tshirt… and even if I had made the drawing bigger so her leg was cut off it still didn’t feel right…

—and so I realised it was properly the angle or smth…. so I decided to just go ahead and do a redraw over and man…. the arms were difficult to get… when I remember before with the redraw fix it didn’t at all take me long to scribble in the arms sigh….i need to prac my arms some more. I think it’s cuz lol I kinda forgot to add in the arms when I was doing the body.,. so I did it like last…. a bad habit I need to fix… it did help having the ref my prev drawing…

—also I def do think that I did the pelvis too high this time so I need to fix that when I go back. anyways I drew in the shirt, looked a bit of ref of how over shirts are like and hmmm it does still feel a lil dissatisfying but I at least fixed the angle problem I had before….

—also oh yeah I had problem with the legs.,.. so I need to practice that more. the shape of legs also I think that it would have been helpful if I drew the overall pose and then cropped it to how I liked it… also I do think I might have also had trouble with the legs cuz I did the pelvis higher than its supposed to be lol.

—also lol it’s def noticeable that I drew this at an angle cuz she looks so off so that’s something to work on too but overall happy that I drew it down… I do need to practice faces man though… the faces I drew aren’t as nice looking as I want them to be…. also I do really do practice her hair some more…. but yeah. overall im satisfied with the progress I did. <3

DAY STARTING OFF STRONG….!

—okay I saw some super cute comic from diff fandom and it really got me fired up. I wanted to draw comics of MY otp. 🥺🥺🥺 and I thought going for a more simplistic style would help with my high expectations of likensss that I can’t meet right now 😭😭😭 and so I got to sketching!!!!

—had some kind of idea and it was a very simple one and I just went….to do it. it did seem very ambitious too (with lol a big panel of holding…..hands…….)with the FOCUS but ehhhh just yesterday I was practicing hands I would be fine. they thought<3 lolllll

—I had thoughts of changing the comic to be different but I was like nahhh this is simple let’s stick with it! just go for it! I didn’t want to over complicate stuff or anything

—and so I got to overlarging the sketch and making it big so it can be the size I want it to be… and so I got to drawing over it and that’s when I immediately hit a block….

—the thing was the first rough sketch I did was so much cuter and better…. I feel like when I tried to draw over it….i tried to more capture likeness and then it just didn’t turn out as cute or as good as the rough sketch… so obviously I had to redo that. I did try to fix it at first (seeing the diff:larger eyes extra but ehhhhh it didn’t work) so I just went to redoing it. And ah!!! this attempt was def better!!!!

—also ha………drawing bust shots are Hard……….so I tried to (during first redraw over rough sketch) to also include in bits of torso etc to see how things would look like. I remembered this video I watched that said it’s best to draw things that aren’t in the shot so you can know where things are or smth. my quoting isn’t the best. anyways! it def helped…. also initially wasn’t even gonna include the bit I drew to help imagine the rest so I can draw bust shot… but I ended up including… I think it was good to hand in bits of the arm… also I remembered that they’re were supposed to be holding hands so I had made sure to make the hand their moving to hold hands looked like that

—I don’t even wanna talk about ssk’s hair it was so fcking annoying. clothes…….im so glad that ssk’s clothes is very simple in this era… lol… just a cape…. and I tried to remember to add in wrinkle since hand was moving…. sskkr clothes were simple too…. I’ve gotten used to it while drawing a lot of Srda who wears similar to her mom 💗

—I went straight to lining it… I didn’t even redraw over the hands… was impatient lol and just wanted to get to lining the characters…. and so I went! and did! and lol it’s obvs I started to loose the patience lmaoo. I didn’t take that much care when it came to skkr hair and roughly lined it like I was sketching. I didn’t mind. it looked okay.

—also crazy that I just went into lining the hands like that. my rough sketch of the hands was super rough sketch too lmaooo but somehow…?! it turned out well….?! this is the one im almost surprised at. I thought it’d turn out way worse. I mean yeahhhhh skk’s fingers over hers make no sense but skkr’s turned out better than I’d hope for…..im really proud of them…. so djjdjdjd I just didn’t want to cover up with ugly skk fingers so I made his fingers still continue to not make sense 💗

—finished the line art and honestly at this point…..I wasn’t feeling great about the art………….. which made me feel sad…. anyways I thought to add colour??

—and my GOSH do I need so much practice with color like wtf….picking the right color can be so hard wtf………it was turning out worse and I didn’t likeeee ittt. one bitttt. but I decided to just continue and go to ssk and do his hair and THIS WHERR THINGS CHANGED!!!!!

—like okay I was thinking what color for his hair…..since I did the line art dark purple….black made no sense. I usually just scribble in lines for darkness so I just decided to do the purple line art color for the hair and WHEN I LOWERED THE OPACITY A LITTLE… SO I CAN BETTER SEE THE LINEART SO I CAN COLOUR IN MORE ACCURATELY… TAHTS WHN THE MAGIC BEGANZZZZ

—-I realized I can do this in MONOCOLOUR!!!!!!!!! omg I forgot that so much and by gosh, was I so happy by this discovery!!!!!!!!!’ ahhhhhh I love monocolor so muchhhhh. my fav shit. it turned this into super fun drawing. I had much fun in trying to decide the diff opacities/values of diff stuff and really —when I was doing his cape for the hand…..that’s where the magic really flourished…. ah it made this drawing a very happy one for me… <3333

—it did still a lil empty so here I was just adjusting and trying to figure what to add and how to not make it too much and now looking back this version is totally fine……ahhhhh…..I kinda wish I kept the hearts. I did like how I scribbled it in…..they looked fun….oh well.

—also seriously lol I gotta stop posting stuff as soon as I finish it…. There should be something about looking at stuff with fresh eyes but also man…. I’m just pretty lazy abt that lol.

—RIDING THIS HIGH!!!! I WANTED TO DO ANOTHER SS PIECE!!!! THIS TIME MORE LOOKING LIKE THEN!!!!! I had this pose/idea in mind and just went straight to sketching the idea and very happy with it…. it feels so nice too to just have an idea for pose and get to sketching it and be able to doing it ahhhhhh. also felt very nice when I roughly sketched it in and cleaned it up a lil like the face and stuff… properly adding in some features n stuff. also hmmmm i probs should do something with ssk’s other arm….

—also lmao I really have neglected the feet too much. I need to do something about learning them but also ahhhh I really don’t want to. also did have some struggle with trying to find out if they were sitting or what they were lying on… or kneeling or whatever. floor or actual sofa/chair…. I need to better visualize stuff like that… also I think for me, ss in side view I think im the best in… also man I really need to work on her hair a lot.

—anyways as I was doing this I had started to get a better image of like a story so I kinda wanted to turn this into a comic and while I was drawing the hair that kinda turned into a redraw of face too… I ended up trying to draw the comic bit that I wanted to include and ha………..this where things started to fall apart….. 😭😭😭😭 my problem of deawing ss faces came back to me 😔😔😔

—and ahhh seriously I don’t know what it is. I thought maybe the nose…? So I tried different way but nope. it’s not that. it got me so frustrated n sad I just stopped the wip there. I was already planning to pause anyways since I was getting tired… and plus trying to think of clothes was also too exhausting but sad to have to pause the wip in that moment…

(now looking back at this as I am uploading the images on to here… I think it might be the mouth of her face that’s the problem…..? also lol noticed problems with her side profile face too it looks a bit off but eh well I can always fix that later)

—-ahhhb seriously I need to do ss face sketches…. I looked at the manga to see what it is that im just getting so wrong that feels so frustrated…. and I think maybe the eyes…? is a big one…? and maybe nose???? anyways I just really need to practice!!!! but forgetting that part. today start was very good!!!! im pleasantly surprised!!!!

—I want to go back to the comic sketch that I drafted yesterday…. and also I want to do lots of figure pracs so I don’t go out of practice…. yeah….! and more hand studies… feet I can’t be asked to do. BDJFJKFKD. im just not interested into doing it and don’t care to right now even though I probs should be….. 5.56
