listen i adore aus, but any time i go looking for prompts, they’re all like, weirdly specific run on sentences of highly specific scenarios i don’t want specific, i want broad strokes that gives an Aesthetic that lends itself more to designing the characters in a brand new world

So! I kind of figured maybe other people were the same so here’s a master post of broad strokes Stock AU ideas.  I tried to keep them as BROAD as possible, and several show up under several categories since there are different interpretations (ex: a modern day royalty au is much different from a fantasy royalty au).  Not every possible incarnation of an AU is represented, i tried to keep them to the most popular ones where i could.

The John Green Playlist

Certain songs make you feel a type of way and so do John Green books. As I have said before, I love it when you read a book and there are songs that fit the ‘mood’ of the book. When I read John Green books, I listen to mostly indie, alternative music. Because I feel that that is the type of music that fits his books the most. I also feel like John’s characters would be the types of people to listen to indie/alternative music.

Here, I’ve compiled a playlist of 10 songs each for four of John Green’s novels. I’ll list down the title of the book along with the ‘theme’ of music that I think most suits the story/mood of the book.

(I know that TFIOS and Paper Towns have their own movie soundtracks, and both are really good soundtracks. But I enjoy making my own playlists)

1. The Fault in our Stars //Heartbreaking Love Story// These are songs that give the listener a ‘heartbreaking love story’ feel. INTP the Chameleon

Unlike most people, INTPs do not come pre-programmed with acceptable social behaviour patterns. Rather, they learn to fit in through conscious observation and deliberate mimicry.

While other people talk, the INTP watches and wonders. They observe what a person did and figure out what they should do as a response. Widening their sight, nodding, and smiling, the INTP responded with a fake social skill.

Like actors on a stage set, INTPs are playing a role. They know that being true to themselves doesn’t fit too well with average people, they slowly accumulate a little acting knowledge to help them get by.

INTPs could be described as a human chameleon or a mirror. If a person is friendly, funny, boisterous, and waves their hands around a lot, the INTP will start gesticulating, speak in a louder voice, and smile and joke more to match the other’s behaviour. And when the person  is finally gone, they will turn into their typical self which often is silent, aloof and nonchalant, and slowly cocoon themselves inside their room.

Most of the time this mimicry is unconscious and is basically the result of playing a role deeply enough that it becomes embedded. Chameleons don’t have to think about changing their skin colour to match leaves and branches–it just happens.

Not that INTPs are good actors. They only act because they have to, and only put forth as much effort as is required to get by. An INTP, for example, does not have a giant palette of varied emotional responses that seem totally genuine. Instead, they are controlling their bodies like a puppet-master controls a puppet, and the resulting clumsy imitation of reality is just not lifelike. But it’s enough to get by, as long as there isn’t too much pressure.

If the pressure increases or the situation warrants it, however, an INTP will switch back to their regular selves for as long as necessary, perhaps stunning their acquaintances with a display of cool, clear, cogitant reasoning.

HOW TO REPORT POTENTIAL SUICIDE ON TUMBLR

okay guys, ary ( @skishenanigans ) has me really worried.

tumblr has a feature where you can report a user suspected of wanting to take their own life and will do their best to track their ip and roll out authorities to make sure they are okay. you can help ary by doing the following:

1. go onto her blog and see the last post she made. at the bottom there will be a little plane lookin arrow. click it

2. once you have clicked it a like of options to “share” the post should pop up. you want to click the flag that says “report”

3. next, three options will appear. click “report something else”

4. a page with several options for violations will appear. click “self-harm”

5. tumblr will ask if this user is in immediate danger. no one has heard from ary for a couple of days. click “yes”

6. tumblr will then ask you for your name and to verify you are a real person. once you have done that, submit the form
