I attended the opening the Michael Canning's exhibition 'Les Yeux' tonight at the Oliver Sears Gallery, 33 Fitzwilliam Square Upper, Dublin 2 tonight. The event was quiet and informal. I loved Micheal's paintings of plants set against plain backgrounds. The fine detail of the twigs and leaves contrasted with the simplicity of sky and minimalist landscapes. His three small paintings of tree trunks intrigued me. To my eye, they were a new development in his work. His exhibition will run until 13th June 2025.

'Cahoots' at In-spire Galerie
Just back from seeing the group show 'Cahoots' which opened tonight at In-spire Galerie, 56 Lwr Gardener St., Dub 1. The opening was packed with a pleasant atmosphere and good music. A wide range of beautiful work presented by 3rd Year painting students of the National College of Art and Design.

Sean Conlon at In Spire Galerie
Tonight, I attended the opening of Sean Conlon’s exhibition ‘The Empowerment of Nature’. Sean was very nice and I enjoyed viewing his work especially his woodland scenes like ‘The Bluebell Place’ and ‘Sunday Evening at Emo’. The music was complimenting the show was excellent. Classy.Â

Last night, I attended the opening of Sinead Ni Mhaonaigh’s latest exhibition at the Kevin Kavanagh Gallery called ‘Achar’. Loved the combination of colours especially where they appeared in dapple patterns. Sinead’s exhibition will run until 26th May 2018. Classy.  Â

Gallery Zozimus Reopens
I attended the very successful reopening of Gallery Zozimus at 51 Frances Street, Dublin 8 tonight. Plenty of people came. The atmosphere was informal. There was a large variety of beautiful artworks on display. Gallery Zozimus will be open from Monday - Saturday 10:00 am - 5:30 pm.

Paul Colreavy at Zozimus
Last night, I attended the opening of Paul Colreavy’s exhibition ‘On Land And Water’ at Gallery Zozimus. His many paintings including landscapes and seascapes were atmospheric. I particularly liked his series of ‘Coastal Lowland’ and ‘Winter Shoreline’ paintings for their simplicity. The opening was relaxed and there were plenty of bits to go with the wine. Paul’s exhibition will run until 18th May 2019 at 56 Francis St, Dub 8.Â
