Last night, I attended the opening of Michael Quane's exhibition 'Belonging' at Solomon Fine Art, Balfe Street, Dublin 2 D02 T802. This event was packed. I had plenty of people to talk to. Michael had carved his sculptures in limestone and marble. His figurative pieces were full character and life. I loved his Nabresino Head Study carved from Nabresina- light limestone due to its simplicity and clean lines. To my eye, it appeared monumental and would suit being carved to a much larger scale. Other artworks that I liked included 'Taurus Bouyancy' and 'indigenous', both carved from Bordiglio marble, due to their smooth finish, rounded shapes and warm grey colour. I was fascinated to learn from Michael that some areas of a stone block are harder than others. One has to adapt to this variation of hardness in stone as one carves it. Michael's exhibition will run until 19th Oct 2024. It was well worth going.

How do I operate likes? Classy Harmony Creation. Â
Yesterday, I visited the marble and metal head of Luke Kelly created by Vera Klute. I thought the portrait was very well done in design and execution. A lovely sense of movement and striking facial expression. I loved the hair.Â

Dáire Lynch at Gallery X
I saw the opening of Dáire Lynch's exhibition at Gallery X, 11 Hume Street, Dublin called 'The Light Falls Softly'. The venue was packed. There were many paintings on view which ranged in size and content. However, most of Dáire's paintings were figurative in genre. I particularly liked his large blue paintings each featuring a single figure with a patterned background. Dáire's exhibition will only run for another week.

Last Thursday, I attended the opening of Ostinelli and Priest’s exhibition ‘Animal Magic’ at Gallery Zozimus, 56 Francis Street, Dublin 8. I liked their more minimalist pieces like ‘Class Act’, ‘Charlotte Grey’ and ‘Rhino’. These pieces represent a greyhound, horse and rhino respectively. Their exhibition runs until 31st May. Classy.
Last night, I also attended the opening of Lucy Doyle’s exhibition ‘Blue Moon’ at the Doorway Gallery. As usual, Lucy’s numerous paintings encompassing still lifes, interior scenes and portraits were full of vivid and cheerful colours. Her opening at 24 Sth Fredrick St, Dub 2 was very well attended.Â

Tonight I attended the packed opening of Mairead O'hEocha's exhibition 'Tale Ends & Eternal Wakes' at the Temple Bar Gallery. There was an interesting mix of drawings and paintings of various animals on display from bird to monkeys. Mairead's latest exhibition relates to her fascination with the Natural History Museum, Dublin or Dead Zoo. Her exhibition will run until April 25th 2020 at the Temple Bar Gallery 5 - 9 Temple Bar, Dublin 2.

Last Friday night, I attended the opening of Nick Munier’s exhibition called ‘Vacation’ at Framesperts, 18a Ranelagh, Dublin 6.  His paintings were full of colour and exuded a sense of celebration. The atmosphere at the opening was relaxed with many people coming and going. However, I have to let your know that Nick’s exhibition has ended.  Classy.Â
