Last night, I attended the opening of Eilis O'Connell's new exhibition 'Hardware/ Software' at Solomon Fine Art, Balfe Street, Dublin 2 D02 T802 beside the Westbury Hotel. The Venue was packed and had a lively atmosphere. It was worth the time and effort to go. Loved the sense of form and line in Eilis' work. Her exhibition will continue on Sat 18th Nov 2023.
Spring at the Solomon
Tonight, I attended the opening of the Spring Group Show at Solomon Fine Art, Balfe Street, Dublin 2 D02 T802 beside the Westbury Hotel. The venue was packed. I didn't get to see everything.
However, I loved the simplicity of 'Broighter Boat IV' (2024) by John Behan, the detail in 'Four Lamb Loin Chops' (2024) and the character of 'Nabresina Playtime' by Michael Quain. I enjoyed the curvy lines of 'Trust Issues' by Orla de Bri and the eye-catching qualities of 'Untitled 37302' (2005) by Carbon Walker. The atmosphere at Solomon Fine Art was very lively. There was plenty of beautiful sculptures and paintings to view. The show will continue until 27th Apr 2024. It was well worth the effort of going.

Tonight, I attended the opening of Tom Climent's exhibition 'Pilgrim' at Solomon Fine Art, Balfe St., Dub 2 D02 T802. The opening was lively and well attended. Most of Tom's paintings sold.
I particularly liked the translucent and shimmering quality of his use of color in his paintings. Tom's exhibition will run until 25th May 2024.

Spring Exhibition at Solomon Fine Art
There was plenty of variety of artworks at the opening of the Spring Exhibition at Solomon Fine Art, Balfe Street, Dublin 2. Work included figurative and abstract sculptures. The same variation with the paintings on show. Attached are photos of a few of my favorite artworks.
Surface by Ana Duncan
Lots of personality in the face.
Melodious Intrigue by Margaret Egan
The scene in this painting appears enigmatic.
Flex by Eilis O'Connell
Lovely composition
Clare Island Famine Ship by John Behan
I had always admired John's work.
This spring exhibition will run until 26th Apr 2025.

Tonight, I attended 'Arcadia', the opening of Paul Winstanley's latest exhibition at the Kerlin Gallery, Anne's Lane, Dublin 2. His paintings, oil on linen or oil on panel were the right sizes for their subject matter. The larger artworks like 'Landscape With Clouds II' (2024) looked majestic but were too dark and brown for my liking. β° Paul's smaller paintings from his body of work, 'The Falls' featuring waterfalls had more movement and colour in them. π§ My favourite painting was 'Veil 30' (2024) which comprised a closed net curtain with a landscape beyond it. Paul's exhibition will run until 18th Jan 2025. π° It was well worth going.

Get a load of all these eyes.Β
I called my pieceΒ βAll Eyes For Youβ.

I attended the opening of 'Bourke/Kane' an exhibition of paintings by Brian Bourke and Michael Kane at the Taylor Galleries, 16 Kildare Street, Dublin 2. I thought that Brian's work was quite sombre to my eye at least. However there was quite interesting subject matter included in his paintings including decaying sunflowers, a winter landscape and Indonesian statues. Michael Cane's work was muted but had more colour. The opening was very well attended with a lively atmosphere. Brian and Michael's show will continue until the 13th of April 2024.
