Okay here's how I think it's gonna go.
Homelander opens soldier boys tube thing and soldier boy says "fuck you fuck nuts you're a fucking pussy, I'm gonna visit an old... Friend" soldier boy then runs out of the big military building they keep him in (still naked btw) and then he knocks out a guard wearing jeans and a work shirt over a grey t shirt and steals his clothes and shaves so they can't tell it's him, he then runs to the parking garage where all the government agents park for work and put of every car he breaks into and hotwires a black 67 impala.
When he turns on the radio it's playing carry on wayward son by Kansas and then he drives to wherever Misha's character lives and when he gets there he knocks on the door all nervous and Misha opens the door wearing a trenchcoat over a suit with a blue tie before saying in a very raspy voice "hello dean" revealing that soldier boys real name is Dean they then lock eyes for a second before making out and having hot passionate gay sex for the rest of the episode until in the last 30 seconds Jared walks in and says "hey so get this, according to the lore"

Rest in peace ❌ Rest in pieces ✅
is 100% definitely, undoubtedly Tech, yeah?
I mean, physically/literally:
His accent is different under the voice modulation
I stg those pained grunts as he lifted the stones were pure Tech
He runs in Creature Posture
The pocketses
He still doesn't give a fuck about following orders
But also narratively:
The lingering closeups whenever he's about to act in regard to the Batch. Is it consideration? Hesitation? They sure want us to wonder.
The story's repeated emphasis on Crosshair being able to anticipate his moves, and the way they match each other beat for beat the whole way down.
The fucking intimacy of the way he almost kills Crosshair. I mean the whole physicality of the fight, but especially the way Clone X had to stare into his eyes while he drowned him.
Why, as a writer, would you waste those story beats on someone who had no personal significance to the Batch? You just wouldn't.
Yea
the reason i enjoy characters calling cas slurs so much is that as much as cas hates himself, it's never in an internalized bigotry way. like he's entirely fine with like... What He Is. what he hates about himself is What He's Done. like, the closest he comes to disliking himself for What He Is is being scared that no one likes him? but in general he's pretty fine with everything about himself except his choices.
anyway you guys might think that this post was inspired by cas' relationship to being gay but actually it's inspired by the fic i have in my head where cas is called into jack's school to talk to the counselor on like. an unrelated matter, and the counselor refers to jack's "difficulties" and cas is like "jack's what? jack, are you having difficulties at school?" and jack is like "no i love it here" and the counselor is like "no i meant his... you know..." and cas tilts his head like "his what?" and then the counselor spends ten minutes using increasingly rude euphemisms for intellectual/developmental disabilities before giving up and asking if she can speak to cas' wife, at which point cas is like i don't have a wife, and the counselor is like but your wedding ring... and cas is like i do have a husband. and the counselor is like thank god. my discomfort with this weird man's obvious disabledness overrides even my passive straight person homophobia. and then the husband is, you know. dean.
