Falsettos is my favorite musical and I've lost count of the times I've seen it, but for some reason it just hit me that when Marvin says "I left my kid, I left my wife, to be with you", it's a direct answer to Whizzer's "All your life you wanted men, and when you got it up to have them, who knew it would end your life?"
Because Whizzer is talking about AIDS. He's been an openly gay man for much longer, he's been with other men, and he knows how repressed Marvin was. So, he's commenting on how tragic it is that now that Marvin allowed himself to enjoy this, they'll both end up dead.
But Marvin knew he'd lose his life for this. He had a tight knit family, perfectly patriarchal, and he put it all on the line in the name of Whizzer's affections. And they're both stubborn and they're both drowning in toxic masculinity and so neither of them actually admitted this simple truth: Whizzer was afraid of loving Marvin because he thought all he wanted was sex.
It takes Whizzer's death for them to finally fix their greatest misunderstanding. Finally Whizzer says "I'm sorry it's over, now that you could have the sex you wanted", and Marvin replies "It wasn't the sex, it was you. I'd end my life again if it meant I could live with you. I did it before already".
And I'd like to believe that I'd do it again, and again, and again.
Lmao how are there people who watch Found on NBC, a show largely centered on the fucked up relationship between a woman and her kidnapper, that are shocked people ship it. Like the premise of the show is the fucked up intimacy and simultaneous disgust between them, and you, a person with a brain, are shocked that people are invested in that relationship.
I think i spend so much time in the iwtv fandom where the conversation of "enjoying fiction is not an endorsement of behavior irl" has already been had a million times that I forget most people when it comes to shipping have the mind of like, a 12 year old who hasn't learned the nuances of fiction portraying unhealthy dynamics.
Kevin: Go home, Brother.
Chimney: *goes to the Lees*
btw if this is actually dobby for real and forever then I'm beyond pissed that we didn't get an open casket everyone can go say their goodbyes scene. I know I know contagious yadayada who fucking cares. either handwave it or murk him on a different emergency. ffs
I'd figure I share this for my mom cause she is set on her theory that's its Dhan working with sir and she doesn't post online so tell me your thoughts and I'll let her know lol
the reason bobby died is because buck wasn’t sent to super mega turbo hell after coming out and tim minear needed to appease the god of procedural tv so he killed bobby for the sins of his son, obviously
Someone please explain to me why Sir dresses himself like a villain from a 1960s kid's show. Please be serious. 🤣🤣🤣
I mean he has the gloves and everything.
Everyone is like ooohhh! He's such a scary psychopath. Meanwhile I'm like when did preppy get into cosplay? Someone please call Slater to deal with him.

Warning…do not read if you haven’t seen the latest episode of 911…if you have…here is my rant!!
Wtf???? That was the MOST depressing episode I have ever seen! I love this show because it goes from exciting to sad to funny. NOTHING about that was exciting or funny or heartwarming. A definitely dead Bobby AND a dead baby! WTH! Also blink and you miss it Eddie? This is Oliver’s favorite episode of all time? Is he high?? I swear I love this show but if Buddie doesn’t happen in the next two episodes I may not watch next season! I have enough depression in my life that I don’t need to see it on tv!!
For me, the worst thing about OFMD's cancelation is how close we got. It seems like literally everyone was acting as if the green light for s3 was a given and then someone (Zaslav you better sleep with one eye open) axed it at the very very last minute. By all rights, we should be celebrating the renewal right now, and it sucks so fucking much that we aren't.
But this also inspires me to push harder! We have nothing to lose, and I really hope that, given it seems like HBO knew it only made sense to renew for s3 and it was someone higher up who made the call to cancel, other platforms are fighting over this show right now. At the very least, us being loud, with our big and vocal fanbase, will let them know that this kind of thing is unacceptable and -gasp- cancelling a flagship show before its final planned season will tank your service's reputation.
i think we often get caught in the silliness of the show and forget how deep it actually is. yes it’s a stupid lil show about firefighters and their emergencies, but it’s also about a kind soldier with ptsd who doesn’t know how to love himself, but never once stopped trying, and a lost boy who became a lost man, but eventually found home and himself, and an alcoholic who’s still learning to forgive himself but doubles as a father figure to everyone around him, and a woman who lost everything, even her fiancé, but managed to build herself up from the ground, and a man who was forced to say goodbye to the one brother he had, but trusted himself enough to earn the life said brother would’ve wanted for him, and a woman who had to fight thrice as hard to become who she wanted to be, just because of who she was inside and out, and about a woman who was taught she didn’t matter, but believed in real love enough to try again. their stories are blended into the fun of it all. but they are bright enough to shine above.
Back again. I'm having a lot of fun with this so walk with me. Gabi is steadily falling for Evans but still is very much aware that the trafficking ring want her dead. Evans has grown on her and she is happy to renew his contract. I want all the soft moments for these two (right after I make Hugh Evans suffer).
Content warnings: physical injury
Gabi rushes to him without hesistation. His forehead is dripping with sweat and his breathing seems laboured.
"What do you need me to do? The police will be here soon. Once they arrest him, we can get you to a hospital." She explains.
"Gabrielle, please no hospitals. I'm fine to give a statement to the police, I just need something to clean the wound. Once the police are done here, I can seal it." Evans responsds.
Another conundrum. This is a medical emergency. What kind of grown man with blood pouring out of him refuses professional care?
Of course, she tries to reason with him. Evans looks pained as he tries to convince her otherwise. Turns out, boarding school in Virginia takes up a lot of his salary, leaving nowhere near enough for health insurance.
An ambulance at this time would bankrupt him, so, like he always does, he will patch himself up and find someway to ease the pain.
Gabi's heart breaks. This man is putting his brother through school without any help. Understanding his situation, she goes to find hot water, clean cloths, antiseptic cream, and bandages. When she returns, she finds Evans trying to sit up.

"Please, let me" she whispers; gently easing him towards her. He almost freezes at her touch. A kind woman helping him shouldn't have such a strong effect of him, but it does. Gabi is more caring than he could've imagined. She didn't impose anything on him, understanding that her circumstances are very different to his. She gave him water while she wiped the blood from his skin and stayed with him as he told the police what happened. The police agreed that knocking the attacker unconscious was self defense and had no further questions for Evans.
After the cops left her place, dragging the attacker in handcuffs, he turned to Gabrielle.
"You can't stay here anymore. Your location is compromised and that guy has definitely already told his bosses that you have a bodyguard. We need to go." He said, still holding his side.
As frustrating as all this was, he had a point. Thankfully, M&A had a safehouse in Virginia where they could spend the next few weeks.
Gabi and Evans packed their stuff and updated the rest of the team with a brief message:
Evans was stabbed. We are going into hiding. I'll see you guys in a few weeks. Keep taking on cases. GM.
And with that, they began the long drive to the Charlie safehouse, by Smith Mountain Lake.
