I never seen rivals in anime so openly go on a date~🤣🤣
I love how Kaiba’s just casually waiting outside the booth, like nbd just Seto Kaiba leaning on a fuckin’ pole.
How dare yall forgot my man Kaiba from S0 smh. That one is easily the best Kaiba. Can’t believe he himself, that’s right,HIMSELF went through the effort of kidnapping Yugi lmaooo
And of course,Hikaru Midorikawa’s voice just makes it better~
also I really love that I no longer have to pick between two fairly stark dynamics Re: The Setos. Like I can just be like “post DSOD Kaiba” and get a dude right smack in the middle between all the fun of the ‘dutiful high priest Seto’ and the ‘constantly pushing each other to newer heights, not afraid to speak his mind’ version we get with DM-era Seto Kaiba
That Guy scene though. A good hairstyle is what you don’t have
I read through the first issue of Green Lantern 1990, and man, Bruce really liked Hal at that time.
He openly welcomed Hal back and asked Hal to join them again. And you know Bruce Wayne is never the social or friendly type.
He thought highly of Hal.
And he actually cared about Hal's feelings.
Considering that this happened before the Zero Hour event, I actually think that it's hard for Bruce to trust Hal again because he used to trust and respect Hal a lot - which is not easy for an emotionally distant guy like him.
Bruh I was screaming internally inside the car with my mom driving!XD
So that’s where this scene comes from.I saw their smiles on Pinterest and wonder what eps this is…
The moment…we’re all been waiting for~!
And under that fucking Pinterest post I said this is the happiest Atem’s been too lmao
AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH
Is he Marilyn Monroe is his past life? Cuz he's so darn hot in anything
Say….
Uh,,haha I really don’t know how to start.I love pride shipping so much.Thinking about them defeating a Common enemy just proves to me how great they are when they’re together.God even that..when they stand Side by side its just so…indesribable. They’re just….so THAT,you know?
Now I dismiss everything related to enemy/hero stuff as them since Iam quite obsessive about them.Although,I wouldn’t want them to be together for real. It’s just,,dating is too much stuff man.Marriage too.I can’t imagine all the work you have to put in for a relationship.Cmon,Atem and Kaiba are closer to each other than they think they ever will be
There’s no need for marriage,or getting serious with them.I feel like, them going steady is gonna ruin the already perfect thing they have. They already have a special way of their relationship.Sure, their relationship is complex but I like where they are now
It’s just the perfect combination of rivalry and friendship, and it’s,its..it’s perfect. They’re in THAT place, you know?
because literally every single shot of kirk in this episode is stupidly gorgeous
like
every
single
shot
was he pregnant or something because he is glowing non-stop
i just
please
send help
i cannot
go on
Star Trek and Gundam? Fuck that's heaven~
The next time you watch TOS–especially if it’s a really serious episode–just remember that somewhere in the Enterprise, at all times, there is an enormous balloon decoy of the ship. JUST IN CASE.
And the balloon works in outer space becauseIT’S THE FUTURE, WE FIGURED IT OUT, DON’T WORRY ABOUT IT.
Just think about how big that balloon Enterprise is. Do you think it has to be blown up for cleaning and maintenance, like, every few years? I hope they do it planetside and make a bouncy castle out of it. I hope all those little balloon windows are real and everyone has balloon quarters that they decorate with balloon furniture.
(Star Trek AU: Everything is a Balloon)
I COULDNT AGREE MORE ON 6.
Yami’s so peaceful there,it’s so great. He’s clearly having fun and I love it.I mean, we always see duels involving kidnaps and threats but for the first time ever,he’s happy~
God bless Kazuki Takahashi. There’s no one like you in the whole world
I present to you: my observations regarding Atem and Yugi's relationship, with a few head cannons mixed in. I intend to add to this as I please.
Whenever the two of them are conversing in Yugi's mind or next to each other for whatever reason in the anime, Atem's body is almost always facing Yugi's. Even when his head is turned forwards, Yugi is for the most part always in his peripheral vision. The main exceptions to these are when Atem's already facing Yugi or when he knows he's safe.
I have a head cannon that at the end of the day, the pair discuss what happened over the course of that day. Like if Yugi spent a lot of time studying for a test, Yami would reassure him that he would pass. Or if they met a little fan, they would talk about how cute the child was or something along those margins.
When Atem duels, we don't see a lot of Yugi. He shows up in the more important duels, but for the most part he lets Yami do his thing. On the contrary, when Yugi duels Yami is by his side the entire time. Encouraging him, giving compliments on his better plays, occasionally offering advice. During the final duel, Yami also complimented Yugi on his best plays.
Yami is really good at giving compliments in general. Another of my head cannons is that Yami learned this behavior to compensate for Yugi's lack of self-esteem, and it eventually leaked over into the rest of his shared life.
Yugi really stepped into his bravery and courage when he was faced with helping Yami. It was one of the first times he faced something without the other him, but he stepped into the role without question and dueled Yami Bakura with determination.
During the final duel, we see a lot of Atem being surprised over Yugi's strength. It's the first time he directly sees just how strong his aibou really is. But, he also is a lot nicer to Yugi than in any of his other duels. Sure, the yelling is there, but the worst thing he says is "well done, but it's not good enough!" Or something along those lines. That's in comparison to most of his other duels, where he mildly taunts his opponent and often yells "you're wrong!"
Atem is used to fighting Yugi's battles. He always stepped up during duels and when Yugi was in danger. I have a head canon that this is why Atem was so surprised when Seto and Mahad and the other members of the council told him to stay back and let them fight.
Yugi doesn't really stand up for himself at all, at least not that I can remember. But, during the final duel, he does. He yells at kaiba for leaving before the duel was over. Atem told Yugi that he was proud of him for standing up for himself. I don't know why I find that so cute, but I do.
Another thing from the final duel: I honestly love how Yami could tell what Yugi was thinking, even though they weren't sharing a body at that point in time. He noticed that Yugi was doubting himself, and gave his aibou a pep talk. And then Atem proceeded to look very pleased that his pep talk worked.
And now, my stuff from dark side of dimensions: the one time Yugi said he always misses Atem has to be on here, it wouldn't be a proper list without it.
During that movie, I also noticed that Yugi learned a lot more from Atem than just bravery and self-love. He incorporated a lot of his dueling strategies in his duels, and the way he interacted with other characters (but mostly kaiba) was a lot like Atem.
And then, you know, Atem showing up just when Yugi passes out. Some might argue that this is just Atem showing up when he's needed, but I'm choosing to focus on the fact that he was a no-show until Yugi was physically hurt.
Notice how distraught Yami is whenever he thinks Yugi is gone forever? First in their duel against Pegasus, and then after Yugi's soul is taken by the orichalcos. When Yugi's other Friends get hurt, Atem is obviously upset, but he can still keep it together. He stays calm and level-headed, and then wins the next duel to save the person in danger. But when Yugi disappears, Yami panics and makes rather rash and hurried moves. He still manages to win, because plot armor, but you can tell that it wasn't his A game. He also gets angry and takes it out on different people, such as weeble.
Atem is also the only Yami who genuinely cares about his host. As #13 states, he gets upset when Yugi is gone, whereas all the other Yamis would be overjoyed to get rid of their host. That one is kind of obvious, but I left it out at the beginning so I'm putting here.
This image right here. The fact that Yami is standing in front of Yugi protectively.(it's kinda interesting that he laid him down face first into whatever their head is made of, like Téa at least held him up, but shhhhhh)
16. From what I remember, Yami doubts himself (thinking he isn't worth it, tearing himself down) twice in the series(tell me if I missed anything though). During the seal of orichalcos business after Yugi's soul got taken away, and when Yugi was passed out or whatever happened to him during the duel against Pegasus. Notice a pattern here...?
17. I HAVEN'T DONE ATEM'S COPING MECHANISMS YET? WHAT KIND OF A FAN AM I??? *Deep breath* ok. Remember when Joey was hurt? It was the battle city arc(I forget what was ailing him...did he get locked in the shadow realm?). Yami punches the wall in rage and then decides to defeat Marik. But when Yugi is gone, Atem just loses it. He cries for the first and only time, he blames himself entirely (it was totally his fault though) and that whole "it's all my fault" causes him to lose hope. He didn't want to keep going until Joey knocks some sense into him. Literally. He mercilessly attacks weevil(not that he didn't deserve it) and we get a taste of that season zero Yami(but less gremlin like). He is a MESS. That got off topic fast....my point is that when it isn't Yugi in danger, Atem seeks revenge. When it IS Yugi in danger, Yami loses his mind and doesn't want to keep going and feels many intense emotions he's never felt before.
I can’t deny these tag team episodes are fucking fun as fuck. Seeing Yami and Kaiba go off on each other is hilarious. Their facial expressions makes it too~!
Episode 71, part 1, this is the worst double-date I’ve ever seen!
It is also the worst double-date Yami and Seto have ever been on. I don’t think the fact that it’s the only double-date they’ve ever been on OR the fact that it’s not actually a date would prevent either of them from characterising it as “the worst double-date I’ve ever been on”, I mean, look:
That mutual awkward boredom in both their expressions is the very essence of terrible double-dates.
And then there’s these assholes.
Yeah.
So, Yami and Seto have been forced - by a string of embarrassingly overwrought and ostentatious kidnappings - to duel Tol and Smol Ghoul on top of this incredibly high skyscraper. When someone hits 0 LP, a BOMB explodes the glass under their feet, sending them hurtling down the centre of the architecturally-impressive skyscraper to their presumed deaths. Why not just use the bomb to kill them? That would be TOO FOOLPROOF.
(I’m pretty sure Kaiba’s the only one in actual danger of dying though, since the Ghouls - spoiler alert - have an escape built in, and Yami’s Puzzle is supposed to protect him from cowardly attempts on his life. So yeah, Kaiba’s the only one. Although, that presumes that he is not able to use that ridiculous coat as a parachute, and that is obviously a very flawed presumption.)
The Ghouls - you’ll never guess this - have a THEME to their deck that matches their villain personas, and their theme is masks. Janky, janky masks…
THIS mask has bolts for eyes, which is a marginal improvement on having arms for eyes, but still lags way behind having eyes for eyes, in the eye department. It prevents Yami’s Mr Magnet (not real name) from being able to attack OR defend AND it deals 500 points of damage to Yami every turn, because it is broken.
Yami’s observing their strategy…
(Light guy is Smol) The Ghouls are playing a tight team game, where Smol plays buffs and traps and shit and Tol plays mostly monsters.
Yami can’t use Mr Masked Magnet to attack or defend, but Kaiba thinks that if he sacrifices it….
Yami, meanwhile, thinks “I have a bad feeling about this” but, if there’s one thing Yami’s better at than overdramatic posing while dueling, it’s figuring out there’s a trap and deciding the best way to deal with it is to immediately trigger it on himself, and he is REALLY good at overdramatic posing while dueling.
SO good, his jacket pales into a white sleeveless cape in shock
also #figureskatingau
Sadly, he’s also very good at triggering traps…
And obviously smarmy sausage-finger fuck-face Smol Ghoul is all “oh you ~fell for it~” like, STFU asshole, there are only like four ways to summon things in the game and sacrificing is maybe the most common, it’s not ~falling for~ your super ~cunning trap~ to just … play the fuckin game…
But yes…
… due to the effects of another very overpowered mask-themed card, Yami and Seto can no longer use sacrifices, which basically means they can’t summon any decent monsters.
They’re in a tight spot, and Yami makes his boldest move yet: attempting to reason with Seto Fucking Kaiba.
In this moment, it’s clear that Kaiba and Yami share a bond that transcends 3000 years, 9000 kilometres, and Kaiba’s own alarmingly constipated emotional defensiveness, because they understand each other perfectly.
Sadly, in the moment immediately following, it’s clear that Kaiba is an angry, emotionally constipated asshole.
SO CRANKY
SO POUTY
Okay so, Kaiba’s abysmal people-skills aside, Tol Ghoul goes to attack Kaiba and Kaiba’s in peak sass form today.
And Yami is in peak ADORABLE SUPPORTIVE BOYFRIEND FORM
ahhhhhh he’s so fuckin cute!
Especially since the Japanese for “alright!” sounds like “YUS!”
So Kaiba triggers a trap of his own, the Grenade Necklace (not real name)
Grim.
“Both players” in this case referring to opposite players, in the tag duel, so both Kaiba and Tol Ghoul.
But!
(I like the eye-segments!)
Smol Ghoul changes the target of Kaiba’s trap to affect Kaiba’s Monster instead, and Yami realises neither of the Ghouls seem to care that Tol Ghoul is open to damage from the trap either way so he tries to warn Seto…
And Seto TAKES TIME OUT OF HIS TURN to be a jerk about it.
Seto Kaiba has less than no chill.
Does this look like the face of a man with any chill?
>:D
Kaiba’s terrifying grin is quickly wiped off his face however, as Yami is proven correct…
… Tol Ghoul uses a magic card to swipe Kaiba’s own Trap Protection Flower (not real name).
So Kaiba takes the damage from and loses a monster to his own trap…
“Well, would you look at the time, it’s fuck this o clock.”
…and Tol Ghoul follows up with an attack aimed directly at the now-defenceless Kaiba, with easily enough firepower to wipe out his lifepoints and send him falling through the ceiling with only his parachute-sized coat to save him.
… This really doesn’t seem like the best way to kill a man you need to immediately take a trading card from post-defeat (remember their primary goal with Kaiba is get Obelisk) but OKAY.
Tol Ghoul launches his attack…
And Kaiba stares it down, presumably reevalutating his choices since Yami’s his only chance to avoid death and he literally just got done explicitly telling Yami to mind his own damn business
IS Kaiba finally about to die due to his own rudeness? DOES Kaiba even care or is he like “worth it”? WILL Yami be the bigger (smaller) man and bail him out? FIND OUT NEXT TIME ON PHARAOHSPARKLEFISTS WATCHES YGO
Straight up Mark and Yami together are my guilty pleasure~
you know what? Props to Marik for being the only one of Yami's opponents to not make fun of kuriboh so far.
