Never reply when you are angry, never make a promise when you are happy, and never make a decision when you are sad. Emotions can cloud your judgement leading you to say or do things you may regret. Anger can fuel harsh words, happiness can make you over commit, and sadness can lead to bad choices
I hope this letter finds you in good health and spirits. I write to you today with a heart full of gratitude and hope, even as I face the challenges of illness and hardship.
In a place where survival itself is a struggle, your kindness has been a rare light in our lives. Because of you, we have felt seen, heard, and valued. Your help has given us moments of relief—moments where we could breathe a little easier, knowing that someone out there cares.
But as I write this, I am unwell. I still receive the same pain though I've been checked now I'm struggling to get treatment and access to proper medical care is still a distant dream for many of us. The daily reality of being transgender in a refugee camp remains harsh—lack of healthcare, discrimination, and the constant fear of violence and neglect. We are still fighting for the basic dignity that every human deserves.
I am reaching out requesting for support to get treatment and I humbly ask—please do not forget us. Any assistance you can offer, whether through advocacy, resources, or even just spreading awareness, could make a world of difference.
From the depths of my heart, thank you. Thank you for seeing us when so many turn away. Thank you for your kindness, your humanity, and your belief that we deserve better. Please stand with us once more.
Love is love 💕 and feeling brings out a smile so no one should stop you from smiling
In our refugee camp, we have always supported each other through hardships, but the recent heavy rainfall has left us devastated
East Africa is a region rich in culture and diversity, yet it faces significant challenges regarding LGBT rights and acceptance. In many countries, same-sex relationships are criminalized, leading to widespread discrimination and violence against LGBTQ+ individuals. Despite these obstacles, activism and community support continue to emerge, highlighting the resilience of the LGBT community.
Never reply when you are angry, never make a promise when you are happy, and never make a decision when you are sad. Emotions can cloud your judgement leading you to say or do things you may regret. Anger can fuel harsh words, happiness can make you over commit, and sadness can lead to choices that don't reflect your truth intentions. Always be cautious! let your emotions settle and approach each situation with a clear mind. Wisdom comes from when knowing to wait before acting.
Just sexual orientation of the parents can bring children to suffer in East Africa, please support LGBTQI in East African refugee camps

Happy Easter, dear friends on Tumblr.
Today, as many of you gather with loved ones, paint eggs, and share meals, I’m writing from a place far from all of that, yet full of hope. I live in Gorom Refugee Camp in South Sudan, where I stand not only as a survivor, but as a proud voice for my community—LGBTQIA+ refugees who have known displacement, rejection, and pain, but who still hold tightly to dreams of dignity, peace, and belonging.
Easter, for many, is about resurrection—about hope rising even after the darkest night. That message lives deep in our hearts here. We may not have much, but we still share what we can: a smile, a story, a piece of bread, a hug. And today, humbly, we ask you to share what you can.
If you have abundance, consider sharing a piece of it with us. Whether it’s by spreading awareness, donating to LGBTQ refugee support organizations, or simply holding space in your heart and your feed for stories like ours—it makes a difference.
We are still here. We are still proud. We are still human.
Wishing you love, renewal, and a joyful Easter.
LGBTQIA refugees we're going through a lot but love is love we have nothing to do because it's nature so please support us
Transgender life can vary widely based on factors like location, culture, and personal circumstances. Many transgender individuals face challenges such as discrimination, social stigma, and mental health issues. Transitioning, whether socially or medically, can be a complex journey involving personal exploration and navigating societal expectations. Support from friends, family, and community can significantly impact well-being. Despite these challenges, many transgender people find resilience, community, and joy in living authentically.
