yess! It would be so interesting putting his talents into like, creating non-deadly escape rooms, or creating Indiana Jones-esc stories with all the temple riddles and puzzles for the hero to solve. 🤩
I feel like if Danny ever moved to Gotham he would get mugged way too often. He’s got his ghost sense to warn him of supernatural dangers, but he’s got nothing for living beings.
So I’d imagine the trio would make a joke out of it after the first few times.
“Gimme your money and no one gets hurt!”
Danny just looks the robber up and down and then starts snickering.
“You think this is funny kid?! I’ll gut you here and now!”
The mugger pulls a knife out and steps forward threateningly, Danny doesn’t notice because he’s doubled over in laughter now.
The guys kinda unnerved but he lunges anyways. Danny ends up with a knife in his side and an unconscious thug slumped beside him.
He snaps a quick selfie and sends it to the chat.
Sam- Another one bites the dust
Tucker- L in the chat for mugger.
Jazz- L
Sam- L
Danny- L
Tucker- Is that the third one this week?
Danny- fourth
Jazz- Wait what’s that on your shirt?
Danny-…
Jazz- Danny what is that.
Danny- A knife!
Jazz- No!
Ghost adoption is a sacred thing, because, once accepted by both sides, it can’t be undone. The entities are forever tied together by the infinite realms. It might have started as a joke, but both the phantoms and John slowly started to actually see each other as family. Once it was official, well, ghost adoption is permanent after all. Constantine may not be part ghost or liminal, but he is part demon, and that’s close enough. The DNA and look changes? Simple. Things are a little different since they’re all still alive (well, partially, but still).
But, unintentional bonus points for John. He just tied his soul to the King of the Infinite realms for all eternity and has effectively cheated all of his contracts, however accidentally it may have been. Downside, he can’t make any more new deals, because the demons can sense who he’s connected to now, but, he’s got some really powerful backup now that the ghost children have magic, so he doesn’t really need to make any new contracts anymore.
I made another post about Danny and about how the justice league believes that something exists in the ghost zone then that makes it exist, but I had an idea since then.
So as a joke, John and Danny claim to be related. (Jazz, Dan, and Dani get in on it too.)
Batman: ...you have a family.
John: what? You think you're the only one with kids?
Batman: that *points at Dan* is a grown ass man.
Dan: hey dad, Jazz wants to know if you'll pick up some milk from the store, she says we're out.
John: sure, she want anything else?
Dan: nah but Dani wants you to grab some pizza while you're there.
Batman:....
And at some point, they start coming to him with their problems.
Dan needs a place to stay? Johns couch is free.
Danny needs help with schoolwork? John might not know what the answer is, but he'll try and help.
Jazz needs someone to rant to? She'll call John.
Dani needs help dismantling a cult? John will be right there in an hour.
They don't acknowledge it outloud, but if they have a problem John is the first person they think of to call for help.
The ghost zone and it's inhabitants also accept John as the ghost kids parent, like if they say it's true then it must be true.
Then they start changing just a bit.
Their hair gets lighter (closer to blonde) their eyes change by a couple shades, and unknown to them, their DNA changes.
And they don't really notice it...
Until they start developing magic.
And Jazz nearly kills someone with that magic when her breakfast attacks her.
Watching them all die was evidence enough of that.
If he'd trained them properly, if he'd been there for them, then they wouldn't have died.
All of them came back, but that doesn't forgive that they died in the first place.
So when he came across a fumbling teen hero, with no mentors, who had come to Bruce's attention already dead, he feels that he's been granted a chance.
This kid, should he train him, isn't at risk of dying on Bruce. This kid, who really does need the help, is not a kid that Bruce would ever consider his kid; he has a ghostly home (a haunt) and a ghostly family (a fraid) that love him very much.
Bruce's only position in Phantom's life would be as a teacher.
He's been granted a chance to see if his emotional attachment to his sons (and daughter) is interfering with his ability to train them properly, or if he's just lacking in the knowledge of how to effectively train a teenager for combat.
With Phantom's living impaired situation, if it turns out it's just his teaching skills, then Phantom won't actually die.
Phantom doesn't come by Gotham often, but he manages to pop in just enough that Bruce hammers out a training schedule with him.
He doesn't mean to start ignoring Damian or Tim or Dick, it's just that Phantom needs so much more assistance. He knows basic combat, but not the kind of combat he'll need in the wider world of heroes vs villains.
Phantom needs more work in how to think tactically. Phantom needs more work in sticking to the training schedule, or to any schedule. Phantom needs help understanding high school classes he can't interact with due to being dead.
All in all, Phantom just needs more help.
That's all it is. That's it.
~~~~~~
Damian is...upset. He's upset.
He's pissed.
This random stranger, who isn't even one of his brothers, is taking all of Father's attention. Not even paternal attention, the other teen is stealing away all the time and effort required to ensure Damian's training doesn't slip for himself.
Timothy, too, is noticing the lack of attention to training, and has taken it upon himself to drop by more often to fill in for Father, sparring with Damian and going over training exercises.
Richard, as well, is not only noticing but very annoyed. He's pulling Father aside and has had many furiously whispered conversations with him, but to no avail.
Nights when Phantom is present Damian already knows Father will pair with the dead hero instead of him, leaving Damian to partner with one of his brothers.
Timothy and Richard insist that it's just some strange and outlandish ploy Father is playing, but Damian knows better.
It's because he isn't good enough.
It's because he failed to meet Father's expectations.
He will have to push himself, then, to exceed them.
He can start by going on patrol alone.
yes please, to all of this. Can someone write this?
Lex Luthor after years of r&d stumbles upon ectoplasm. He then uses this experimental fuel source to power his machines for years.
The GIW gets wind of this, the GIW who currently have both Jazz and Danny in containment after Maddie and Jack handed them over.
Lex finds these two children and for a moment he’s back in his childhood, remembering his father. His horrible drunkard of a father, and he sees red. When he calms down the GIW base is nothing more than a smoking crater and he is carrying the two children.
Danny gives Tim the most deadpan of looks and points at himself. “I’m dead. How exactly am I supposed to pay rent?” Tim crosses his arms, and the two of them have a stare down.
“*sigh* Listen, I can take care of the apartment for you, does that work?”
Tim now has his own personal Coffee maker (Danny) because Danny decided he wanted to use ghost status to get a free apartment.
Tim moves to an new apartment. When he wakes up the next morning and wants to makes himself Espresso.
In his kitchen sits a teen who tells him:"this apartment is haunted."
Its way to early for this. But he looks at the teen:" how did you get in here?"
"By me. I'm hauting your apartment."
Tim standing by the coffee machine slowly waking up, looking at Danny who is slightly floating. "I've your here you have to pay rent."
Dude imagine Danny, while in ghost form, paints his parents the same way they paint ghosts to get them to see the error of their ways and all that. Example:
Ellie: Hello, mister! Have you seen my—
Phantom: Ellie!! *snatches Ellie away from Jack* Ellie, sweetie, you can’t go near ghost hunters! They’re bad guys, remember? They can’t be trusted. The only thing they care about is causing harm to ghosts.
Stuff like that. And it slowly starts to work, especially when he manages to convince his enemies to act the same.
The fic is here! ✨
Instead of being able to, very briefly and painfully, fuck with time; he got an ability based on all the absolute bullshit that's happened to him.
From the childhood, to his friends dying in front of him. All the shitty rumors that sprouted up, all the shit luck, all of it. Just, all of it.
So instead of Instant, he got Lament.
Lament is a scream capable of leveling buildings, at the cost of absolutely shredding Rok Soo's throat.
As a result of that power, Rok Soo doesn't talk often, and when he does his voice is hoarse and pained. He also refuses to speak at full volume, because while he's got a handle on his power, he's paranoid that he'll slip up.
So when he transfers over to the body of Cale, people notice.
The Young Master went to bed his usual talkative self, but when he woke up?
Barely a word, and when he did speak, a whisper.
Cale barely speaks a word to Ron beyond the single syllable required. Barely bothers to acknowledge Deruth. Relies on hand-speak and notes to talk to merchants.
Deruth is going crazy trying to figure out what the hell happened to his son, Ron is very close behind him because what the hell got past him? He's Ron Fucking Molan.
Then Cale comes home with a bedraggled punk that smells like the trash the killed Ron's family, and Ron has to listen in astonishment as he says more to this jackass than he's said to Ron in a week.
Basically; Cale's power of Lament is so strong and painful that everything Cale is paranoid of letting it slip, that he's selectively mute. This causes many misunderstandings, in true Cale fashion.
Danny becomes a “I’ll punch this guy for you” for hire and always finds a way to blame it on he experiences with Vlad. On the plus side, Danny get’s to let of a lot of steam punching heroes and villains alike at the request of (mostly) their children.
So I’m not too deep into batfam history but seems like in what gleam from fics Tim has some insecurity there but anyway was thinking Tim befriending Danny who is studying engineering/ interning and well they hit it off and Tim just tells him about he feels in his place in the family. They have a sort of better relationship but ya know how hard it is for them to talk some shit out
Danny who has dealt with his own issues about how he fit in his family of geniuses is mad for him
So imagine Tim invites him over already telling the other to please be somewhat normal and not to scare his FRIEND!! NOT BOYFRIEND!!
Danny meets them and when he is introduced to Bruce who bas Brucie persona going they dont expect their guest to deck Bruce sending him sprawling on the floor.
Jason loves this guy now he will personally adopt him if no one else is.
never mind that hes an adult and doesnt need to be adopted
The way I cackled 🤣
Can I talk about Danny Fenton Kills the Joker ? I hope you said yes bc I'm going to.
Now, I like it for the bit. Anyone killing Joker for the bit is hilarious.
But for the serious ? Ouhgggg I love it.
Danny is surrounded by death, he IS dead. He's seen his family die ! He fights ghosts for a living(and a deading too) ! In some fics he's the KING of the dead !
Death is so normal to him, he forgets that most people see dying as the end all be all, the little thing that is total obliteration. To him, people die and then fall under his jurisdiction, or they reincarnate somewhere.
So when he kills this guy who is causing the living a whole lot of strife he thinks "cool. I'll just take him off your hands. You can have visitation rights once you come here too. Bye."
Meanwhile Batman has such conviction about sentencing anyone to the nothingness that death is supposed to be is like "what could this child have grown up around.... To take a life so easily... Was he raised like Damian... ? Oh no..."
Ok, but now I absolutely need to read a fic where Diana adopts Danny and Billy. Like, just… it’s perfect. Both Danny and Billy know about the Greek mythos (Billy’s gods and for Danny I sight Pandora), and also, Diana’s just the right mix of chaotic but will still reign them in-
He's been denied entry into the Justice League yet again, but that's fine.
He's not angry.
Nope.
But like, he is feeling like getting a little bit of revenge. Not angry revenge, which would be totally different.
But...petty.
He wants petty revenge.
And he knows where the Watchtower is.
So he makes it his mission to sneak into the Watchtower, over and over and over again, and while completely invisible and intangible, eat the inside of all the heroes treats and meals, so that all they're left with is a hollowed out shell.
Cakes? Just a shell. Sandwiches? Difficult but he manages to hollow those out too. Ice Cream? Just the outside. Spaghetti? Almost impossible, but he manages to do a swap instead; it's spaghetti laying on top of old cardboard. Anything inside of a wrapper? He eats it and leaves the wrapper.
I can’t stop thinking about this thing I saw so I’m doing a similar thing where Danny tells people to do stuff and I hey listen for whatever reason.
Grunt or something: “Hey! I’m kidnapping you!”
Danny: “No you’re not, but I am kinda hungry, so will you run down to the bodega on the corner and get me something?”
Grunt, confused but feels inclined to listen: “Oh, you mean Steve’s Spot, what do you want?”
Danny: “Do you think you can get a number seven, ask them to add extra sauce too”
Grunt, already heading down the street: “no problem!”
Tim, who Danny was talking to: ????
