“Not guilt tripping rody, If I was guilt tripping for one I would’ve said something worse. Second have you met me? we literally met while I was out getting groceries with Bakugo and Todoroki, somehow danger and chaos always follows me but i’d like to see them try with doing something to us. I’ll protect you and Pino!”
Blinks.
“...So, I don’t have to ‘throw you under the bus.’ You’ll just protect us anyway. Like the hero you are, eh?”
vsagis:
Judging by his looks alone, Izuku doesn’t seem concerned by the other refusing him. “Of course it wasn’t,” he agrees with yet another one of those wide smiles as he hooks his arm around Rody’s elbow. “Just as delivering incomplete information.” The way he’s talking about it, as if discussing the weather or the prices in the neighboring grocery shop, makes Izuku seem much different than he was the day before, and the day before that. Colder, despite the tone.
“You’re going with me, Rody,” he moves to explain, “Because you didn’t deliver what I expected from you.” He fishes out his phone from his pocket and begins scrolling the contacts list as he speaks. “That, and because I’m not stupid. I didn’t have the time to verify what you did get me, so I’m taking you as my insurance policy. If the location doesn’t check out, I’ll have you near so you don’t vanish with the payment, and I’ll just keep bothering you to get me more.” It does make sense, one would have to admit, and even of someone who does work for a legitimate agency. And his attitude? Somewhat plausible; agents have to adjust their behaviors to get what they need, right…?
“I’ll get you home by midnight, don’t worry. You won’t be breaking your curfew,” he finishes with a joke.
Rody noticeably leaned away as Izuku linked their arms together, but he didn't pull his arm away. "Hey, I did my best. I got you more information than you originally had, ya know." The guy was honestly lucky it was Rody of all people who helped him out. Any other person probably wouldn't have been able to get the same piece of information.
Damn chip... Even if it did have all the information that Izuku was looking for, he still would have been dragged along, wouldn't he? It was smart to since Rody could have written down complete nonsense just for some money. Izuku was smart. What he said was hard to argue with because Rody would have done the same if he was in his position. He stole a glance at his partner's phone while he debated on a response. "Fine." He answered, albeit reluctantly, but it was an answer nonetheless.
Oh, he's got jokes now. Rody might have laughed if he wasn't so concerned. Hearing that at least eased some of his worries, though. He wouldn't be gone for long but still... he would be gone without any warning. His siblings would worry. "...Can I stop by my place before we go..?"
Me during my class breaks:
"I at least wanted to get a few more correct... But I shouldn't leave it up to a quiz to show how much I actually know about you."
@rody-soul said: "To be fair, I actually got a 6/10... I clicked rabbit but the website shifted and made me click dog, I swear."
Izuku smiled at Rody. "It's okay! I believe you, Rody!" He chuckled a little. "I still think a six out of ten is really good even if Kacchan says otherwise."
Rody leaned over in curiosity, trying to peek at his phone. He basically ended up being shoulder to shoulder with Deku from leaning so close.
He hummed at the suggestion, looking up at his own forehead. He thought it was nice that Deku was thinking of her. Pino hopped in place with a chirp. She was all for it.
Rody chuckled. "Looks like she likes the idea." He peeked back at the map on the hero's phone. "Well, let's not keep her waiting." He playfully bumped his shoulder with his own, starting to walk in the direction of the store.
It took everything in Izuku not to start bouncing up and down where he was standing. He was waiting outside of Gate 15 for an incoming flight from Otheon. Finally, after seven long months of waiting, today was the day!
Rody was visiting him in Japan!
They had been planning this for months. Instead of spending his extra money on All Might merchandise, he focused all of it towards Rody’s travel expenses and anything they’d end up doing while together for the week. They had practically talked every other day ever since Rody had saved up money to buy a cell phone. They had learned a lot about each other in that time, and despite the long distance between them, Izuku still felt as if they were becoming closer than ever.
So, really... it wasn’t much of a surprise that this was the most excited he’d felt in a very long time.
As soon as he spotted Rody’s face, his eyes lit up as bright as the sun. He couldn’t help but rush forward and pull the other young man into a fierce hug. He could feel himself tearing up, but he managed to keep the tears at bay. He couldn’t keep the grin off of his face even if he tried to.
“I can’t believe you’re actually here right now!” he exclaimed with a cheerful laugh. “It’s so great to see you again, Rody!”

❝ i don’t want to be like this. i want to change but i don’t know where to start. ❞ (nuravity)
"Self-reflection...?" His mouth had opened before he got to think.
“I mean...” Now he was properly trying to find the correct words. “...Change takes time and effort. I know that first-hand. If you want to change, in whatever way that it is, it’s good to just sit down and... think it through.” How was Rody always giving out life advice?
“There may not be a clear place to start either. It depends on the situation. If you want to specify the situation that is... up to you.”

Rody didn’t pull away, he gave his hands a squeeze, were his hands always a little bigger then his? So many questions were now popping up into his head and becoming a jumbled mess in his mind, his heart now feeling like it would pound right out of his chest. Ok so it seems the first attempt to be closer to the brunette was a success that’s good! Making progress here Izuku, the freckles on his face being a lot more noticeable now from the red blush that had now swallowed up his face. Come on Izuku you’re supposed to be a hero got to have a little self control to not get this flustered just from holding hands!
“T-that’s if you want to R-rody-Kun you do-don’t have to do anything you don’t want to-!” stopping himself from talking as he was already starting to stutter and anything else would’ve dissolved quickly into rambles.
The stuttering took him completely off guard. In the time he spent with Deku, he was never this nervous around him. What was going on?
“Are you.. alright-” Looking up to make eye contact was a mistake. The green-haired friend in front of him was completely red. This threw Rody off even more, suddenly feeling his own face start to get hot. He never made a motion to pull his hands away, and gave another squeeze to the hero’s.. strong yet delicate hands- what am I thinking right now?
Rody turned his face away in embarrassment, trying to put his thoughts together. Even if his face couldn’t be seen, the redness on his neck and ear would surely give him away. Seriously, what was going on?

Oh he actually did it, Izuku feeling his heart pound in his chest now. Alright Izuku you can do this you’ve held hands with people before this isn’t any different! Yet the thought of it was making his heart go faster and a tinge of pink come to his face. Taking the plunge and just going for it the greenette quickly placed his hands into Rody’s to hold them.
"Again, thank you." Doesn't everyone love being insulted like this? From the spot in Rody's ponytail, Pino was starting to rustle around. Rody knew he didn't have an incredibly impressive quirk, but maybe, just maybe, Bakugou was getting on his nerves. A little.
"Wow, good job, Hero, I guess you are smarter than you look."
ooc - Apologies for the silence here recently! It’s the last two weeks of the semester, so a lot of work is being done on my end!
did you see how deku's ass looked in his hero suit? *whistles* solid snake can eat his heart out
A loud laugh sounded from the brunette, his cheeks going red from not only the laughter, but the imagery of Deku’s butt.
“Woo!” He brought up his hand to wipe a tear from his eye. “That really caught me off guard.” Rody was still catching his breath. ”Kinda hard to ignore it though when his suit hugs him like that, ya know?”
Rody knew first-hand that Deku was on another level with his quirk. Whatever it was... It allowed him to do a lot and was definitely fitting for a hero, but so many other quirks were also well-suited for the job. Not every hero had a power-type quirk, and that was okay.
"Of course I do. I know you can. You’re only going to keep improving and become an even better hero as time goes on.” He shifted a bit in his seat. "It's normal and completely understandable that you want to do so much more. It's just not attainable right now. But it will be eventually. All you can do is keep working harder and get stronger so that you can do more later down the line. You have to focus on the present since that ultimately affects your future."
Phew, that was a lot. He didn't have a sincere talk like this often.
"Eh, but what do I know, right?" Rody gave a shrug. "I may not be a hero myself, but I did mean every word I said."
Ochako's hands turned to fists at her sides, brows furrowing before she shut her eyes. Of course he was right but...it made her feel like...she wasn't enough. "I...can't even make the life of my parents easier. And I don't want to feel like...like I'm not a good heroine." She sighed and opened her eyes. "It's just...I've seen how fragile this whole world is and I wish I could do more, even if I can't do anything for myself."
She put on a sad smile. "I guess that's a silly thought, huh?"
