Two posts in one day? From me?
And the one post where a man attached a cigarette to a fishing hook and "fished" from his balcony. Entire comment section was on about the angler fish lmao
Possibly one of my favorite niche little things TMA fans do on TikTok is literally flock to posts that are so insanely aligned with fears but SOMEHOW UNRELATED and just. Harass the poster. Like the woman with an emotional support wasp hive. People commented โdoes the hive sing to you?โ ENOUGH TIMES THAT SHE LITERALLY MADE A POST MENTIONING IT. and I just saw a post about a guy saying he needs to dig and everyone was like โis there dig on every page?โ God I love this fandom

This is about Michael specifically, how we only know him how he actually was through little hints given by Michael Distortion
In MAG 101 before it gave it's statement it said that it wanted Jon to understand even if it went against it's nature, I feel like that's Michael's will coming through there to want to be understood. I still think there's a bit of him in there, a faint impression of what he used to be. Otherwise why would the distortion ever give a statement?
Also this line "The cramped casket sings loud, but not loud enough to drown out screaming." Personally I thought that refered to Michael's will within the distortion, it's still there but very very faint compared to that of the distortions. + after it becomes Helen since she liked Jon more she began somewhat helping him and the Archives so clearly they're still somewhere there.
It describes Michael as gullible, weak and disposable. Besides the one statement from Michael himself that's really the only way we know him.
But I still feel like there's little bits of truth mixed in there, it talks about trust quite a few times. Being trusting is believing in someone when you have no good reason to disbelieve, which based on what we've heard, what reason would he have to believe that Gertrude was about to sacrifice him to some fear god? Maybe towards the very end but she'd never given him a reason to think she'd put him in danger prior. It described him as gullible while it told a story where Michael was just trusting.
Then there's why Michael never tried to attack Gertrude, it says she knew how to protect herself since she knew what she was dealing with which makes sense but it also said that she was "not as important" since she wasn't as good of an Archivist. But how is Jon a better Archivist? He didn't know much about the fears, how to protect himself from them, how to stop the rituals, he wasn't even that far along his transformation. The only real big difference besides how little he knew is that he cared for his assistants. Which makes me wonder if maybe that was Michael coming through there again. He saw Jon coming in to fill the position, saw how his assistants weren't treated like disposable trash like he was, he got angry and now that this Archivist didn't know how to protect himself he wanted some form of revenge, if not on Gertrude then at least on the institute.
What it described Michael as was a distortion of him, you cannot distort what isn't there and we see that through what he became :D
im so normal about him felix. I have so many thoughts about a man who barely exists I am in the TRENCHES rn
*a man(s) (/silly)
I could tell (/lh) but also thats so so fair. its always the characters who barely exist that inject mental illness directly into your veins,,,
