Thank you! Being able to inspire someone in their own art is on of the best things to hear. I wish you the best in your art-making. My advice (which I should listen to myself about) is to be understanding and kind to yourself. Art-making, even when it’s done spontaneously and just for fun, is a learning process. It’s taken years and years of practice, at least 5 of those years in the context of art schools, for me to make art the way I do. And I still want to learn more and change my art and I still get frustrated with it! So if you hit a stumbling block in your art, don’t give up!

A few years back (maybe 3?) I saw your couples therapy comic and I spoke about it with my own therapist and went "wow, that was a lot of violence on kids in those cartoons and it was downplayed normalized." And in turn helped me realize that my own issues with my parents were downplayed and normalized. I'm in a much better place and I wanna say thanks for helping, in the small way you did just by sharing your comic with tumblr.

Lestat, Louis, and Armand, all as variations of Pierrot. Done with Molotow and Posca paint pens, and color pencil.

Lestat's costume is mostly based on the painting of Pierrot by Jean-Antoine Watteu in 1718. Louis' Pierrot is based on the costume worn by Jean-Charles Deburau, as photographed by Nadar in the 1850s. Despite being the oldest vampire, Armand's costume is the most contemporary, as it's based on the 1975 film "The Adventures of Buratino." This is because Armand is a Theater Nerd (Lestat is a Theater Gay, there is a difference) and he thinks that outfit is the most inventive.
