Can I Vent About Something Real Quick?

Can I vent about something real quick?

The transandrophobe discourse bloggers are huge shitheads towards trans men, that much is obvious, but god they're also so fucking creepy towards genderless and nonbinary people.

They demand to know our genitals (so they can determine if we're TMA or TME for discourse points) and reduce us to them. We're either poor confused trans girls who just haven't realized we're actually transfem yet, or nasty theyfab future detransitioners who are out to get them.

Either way we're just confused little girls in their eyes.

For a group that (rightfully) talks about how Conservatives want to inspect genitals, they sure do love inspecting genitals.

I’m not gonna lie, the whole “what if a big, hairy trans man started using the women’s bathroom? what are TERFs gonna do then?” thing kinda pisses me off being used as some checkmate, because it insinuates that passing trans men would have any kind of power in that situation. If a passing trans man is forced to use the women’s bathroom, you know what will happen? Security will be called on him, he’ll be thrown out, and he’ll be forced to out himself as trans in order to avoid punishment, which will put an even bigger target on his back. He’s still going to be harassed. He’s still going to be forced into an uncomfortable and potentially dangerous situation, and he probably won’t avoid punishment anyway because the current laws in place are never going to favour any trans person’s defence over a cis person’s.

It also completely ignores trans men who aren’t “big and hairy” and don’t pass enough to be mistaken for a cis man. Non-passing trans men (or even men who look or sound effeminate enough to be suspected) who are forced to use the women’s bathrooms are still at a huge risk of harassment or even violence, especially young trans boys who are forced into their assigned bathrooms at school. Nex Benedict was literally murdered in a girl’s bathroom. Girls and women aren’t these inherently non-violent, peaceful and submissive beings (for one thing, that’s misogynistic). Trans men and boys get beaten up by them too, because most of us pre-T aren’t considered a threat, and we fucking die.

That’s not even to mention the trouble we already have in men’s bathrooms, because if we don’t pass, cis men will interrogate us on whether or not we’re “real men” and then sexually assault us if they discover we’re trans. Corrective rapes that trans men face is not something to be ignored, and I have trans male friends that it’s happened to who are lucky to be alive right now.

Bathroom laws will affect us just as much. The violence that trans women face is something that trans men can also relate to, and both need to be talked about without people categorising all trans men as “big, hairy, strong men able to beat up anyone who tries to threaten them” when that’s not the case like 90% of the time. Acting like passing trans men are just there to make TERFs look stupid, when TERFs are the ones who are violent towards us no matter how much we pass, is just diminishing our experiences.

I fear some of you are not ready to hear this, but when someone from a hypovisible underprivileged queer group says 'oh hey, this also happens to me!' on a post about a hypervisible underprivileged queer group, this is not 'derailing' from the hypervisible group

this is a call for solidarity from people who are frequently forgotten in these conversations

i wish you ppl would stop calling it 'terf island' like. i live here

above all else a trans woman is a person. above all else a trans women is a woman who goes to the same grocery store as you and buys fruits in the same grocery cart as you and goes home and eats her dinner the same as you. above all else a trans woman is a woman who dresses like you do and talks the same way you do. above all else a trans woman is a woman who wants to be cared about the same way you want to be cared about and a trans woman is a woman who makes friends the same way you make friends. above all else you should care about trans women because they are people. treat her as such.

no one is gonna convince me that anti-transmasculinity isn't a unique form of oppression worthy of a name. it describes a unique position under the patriarchy of being masculine with highly regulated reproductive organs. that means we're the only class of people who can be forced to detransition AND give birth. the fash can force cis women to give birth, they can force other trans people to detransition, but only transmascs can be forced into both.

anyone who comes in here to minimize my greatest fears gets blocked.

anything that targets cis women like abortion bans and child marriage are going to also affect trans men/mascs

anything that targets trans people like hrt bans and hate crimes are going to also affect trans men/mascs

and there are also issues that disproportionately affect trans men/mascs like being denied health care based on medical records indicating that they are or were taking testosterone or the harms that come with chest binding for long periods of time or the increased rates of depression/attempted suicide/sexual assault that trans men/mascs suffer from

all these different types of oppression intersect in a way that we call:

TRANSANDROPHOBIA

My mutual @amirmeavid is being impersonated by @/amirameavid to make him look like a cryptoterf by going on a harassment spree in the transmisogyny tag.Amir is a minor and already experienced a harassment campaign by a woman in their 30s who was also racist to him and stalked his blog personally. Please help him by reporting the fake blog and i won't disclouse the other one to prevent her from going after me too since she's very popular on here

Would it kill you people to acknowledge non-binary and genderqueer people?

Would it kill you to remember that the terms transmasculine and transfeminine are not synonymous with binary trans men and binary trans women?

Would it kill you to remember that there are those who are not transmasculine and face the same issues as transmasculine people and that there are those who are not transfeminine but face the same issues as transfeminine people?

Would it kill you to add even a token acknowledgment of non-binary and genderqueer people when you talk about trans issues in a needlessly and harmfully binary way?

Would it fucking kill you to stop and think about us for a single moment?
