It's a psychological problem. Humans are born with an instinct to worship others, particularly those who've accomplished what others could only dream of having. When it comes to shifting, the community doesn't rely on themselves but rely on the one's who have reached that level of "impossible". They see them as some kind of "god" and believe that if they put all their trust and support into the creators, they'll have a better chance at shifting themselves, which in my opinion is plain stupid.

moral of the story: stop relying on people who've shifted to help you shift, it's an individual journey !! you won't get anywhere closer to your goal if you spend all the time you could be spending in your dr putting others on a pedestal.

Idk something about how (some if not most) shifters will treat you better when they know you've shifted kinda reminds me of classism, like why is there a hierarchy in the shifting community 😭💔

I am so lost. I’ve been trying to shift for years now, and I am actually pretty content with how I’m doing right now. But once I realised that there are endless universes and stuff, I realised that there must be a universe out there where my S/O or the people of my dr or even the people of this reality are constantly watching and judging me. It’s making me so uncomfortable knowing that out there is a universe where everyone is constantly judging each and every thing I do. It’s really making me feeling very weird and insecure. I mean I don’t even pretend I’m in edits anymore (I know y’all do the same….) because I’m constantly feeling watched and judged. I can’t do anything to stop making them watch me, I know, but I genuinely don’t want to feel like this anymore. It’s so weird. I’ve tried to meditate or reprogram my mind into thinking it’s not a big deal, but for me it kinda is since I’m kinda anxious about what or how people think about me. I’m desperate. I’m kinda asking different people now to see what others think could help. So don’t be confused if you see this question on other pages too. Thanks

Hmm, let's see...

It feels like the entire universe has turned a giant spotlight onto you, exposing every little thought, movement, moment of silence like you’re the main character, right? It just makes me want to wrap you in a warm, cozy blanket and tell you everything will be okay! But first, let's break this down: 

First of all, the fact that you’ve been shifting for years and you’ve already made peace with where you are now is an accomplishment on its own and I’m so proud of you ˃ ᵕ ˂ !! You’ve come so far so I hope you’re giving yourself the credit you deserve just for that. On the other hand, it’s totally understandable that you’re feeling anxious with the whole “endlessness of the universe” and everything. How do you even process something like that? And the idea that there’s a reality that your favorite characters and people you know are constantly watching and judging you? No wonder why you’re so uncomfortable!

But listen: even though there’s a universe like that out there, what does that really change about your life? Their judgement shouldn’t hold any power over you. These people can’t hold you back and stop you from being you, and that’s the important part: you’re still in your world, living your life. And if you believe in the multiverse, then there must be one where you’re the coolest, funniest, most admirable person in the world and everyone has no choice but to wonder how you’re just so…amazing! So why focus on that awfully uncomfortable universe when there’s one where everyone thinks that you’re wonderful, no matter what you do? Instead of trying to force yourself not to care about what other people may think in other realities, have you tried just…living your life? Let yourself exist, you’re the protagonist of your own life, after all. By that I mean replace "what if people are watching and judging me?" with "what if they're watching me because I'm so admirable?" or even "what if I don't care about what these people think of me?" People are always going to have opinions, but it’s ultimately up to you to decide how much space you want them to take up in your mind.

If you've found that meditation doesn't doesn't help you as much as you would like it to, try something different—experiment with it! Journal about why you love yourself, surround yourself with things that make you happy. Romanticize your reality, not someone else's perception of it. At the end of the day, you are the one holding the pen and writing your story. No one else.

THE CHROME SPIDER - (SPIDERVERSE DR #1 INTRO)

okay, let’s do this one last time.

hi, my name’s venoria kingston, and i’m earth-404’s friendly neighborhood spider-woman (that everyone kind of has beef with for some reason?). my official name is the chrome spider…i just happen to be a woman and a ‘spider’, so people think that other name is easier.

not as cool, but whatever…

let’s get one thing straight: i was not bitten by a real spider. i made my own spider. originally, it was meant to be a drone-type mechanism for a science project, but there was a malfunction and the spider “bit” me. the fluids i used to power the machine fused with my blood, and instead of poisoning me or hurting me, i became the chrome spider.

still don’t understand the scientific basis of that, but…hopefully miguel will figure it out!

shortly after that event, the whole debacle with kingpin happened. i got transported into miles’ earth, and let me tell you, it was a learning curve. people were using devices i read about in textbooks — they were like ancient relics to me. my earth is set in the far future, the future with flying cars and androids that could be your philosophy teacher or your math tutor. so imagine my surprise when i saw cars, with rubber wheels, on the ground.

i’m getting distracted. anyways, during my time wandering through new york without a clue as to why i’m there, i met miles, noir, gwen, and peter, who are still my friends to this day. after everything was resolved, i went back to my earth, earth-404.

while the multiverse crossover was happening, my sister, yvonne, went missing. i’m still looking for her to this day, and i’m determined to find her. that’s why i went to miguel for help. he has the tech to jump from universe to universe, and i have a goal i am hellbent on completing. now i’m part of the spider society, simultaneously doing grunt work for miguel and narrowing down where my sister is.

surely nothing else can go wrong. right?

ABILITY OVERVIEW

chromium (chrome metal) manipulation… i can materialize liquid chrome from my fingertips and basically create whatever i want out of it. i use this mainly to create body armor, weapons, shields, and restraints.

electricity overload… due to my spider suit, i have electrical abilities that are enhanced with my chrome. i can overload certain signals or machines with direct contact.

coding efficiency…

hacking efficiency…

web slinging… i have artificial webs that are kept in my wrist gauntlets. these webs can also be hardened by my chrome to secure their durability and resistance, though once they are coated, they cannot move from their initial position.

jet boots… on the bottom of the boots of my suit, i have small jet boosters that can enhance my attacks and fly me up into the air, enhancing my web slinging as well.

chrome-coated motorcycle… i just have a cool tron-like motorcycle with extra armor on. cause i can!

1000%. shifting (and even manifesting in general) thrives on intuition, imagination, and emotional intelligence. all things that, societally, girls and femmes are encouraged to embrace way more than boys. from childhood, girls are given stories about magic, transformation, becoming. boys....... not so much. they’re taught logic, rigidity, "just accept reality as it is."

also, shifting is deeply tied to escapism and self-reinvention, which are both historically female-coded. women have always been the ones rewriting their realities. whether through mythology, literature, or just straight-up surviving patriarchal nonsense.

but honestly, if more boys tapped into this, they’d probably be so much happier. reality is malleable !!!! come join the revolution
