hello! my name's taylor, and i'm a senior soon to be finishing my undergraduate degree in english & creative writing. last semester (because i hate myself), i decided i just had to graduate with honors. that means, this semester, i'm completing an independent honors study. what beautifully linguistic academic topic have i chosen for this project, you ask?

danny phantom. i sent in a request to do an honors study on danny phantom. more specifically, to "examine the impact of fan communities via interviews with popular fanfiction authors within the danny phantom fandom..." to be honest, i didn't think it'd even get approved. like, it had to go through the chair of the english department?? …and yet, here we are.

my job, now, is to choose popular authors to reach out to for a potential interview, but i worry that the way i lean toward the horror subgenre of dp fanfic may be a misrepresentation of what "popular" means now, meant a decade ago, even meant at the inception of the phandom, when we primarily ran on long-gone forums.

therefore, i'm asking YOU what your favorite danny phantom fanfictions are! long, short, crossovers, aus—send me the fanficiton that got you into the fandom, whose trope you've seen copied time and time again, whose plot had you laying awake at night (or straight up skipping school, like i used to do in highschool...oops). I'm talking the Phantom of Truth duology, I'm talking A Snapping Sound, I'm talking that fuckass dpxdc fanfic with the wax ducky that every dpxdc fic easter-eggs into their plot (just kidding, love you If You Give a Bat a Burger). finished this piece last night for the wheel of fortune event that was hosted on a discord server, the sakura trees were the most difficult part XD but had a lot of fun trying to figure out how to place the colors of well... Basically everything XD my main theme was romance (don't ask why they are wearing scarfs if it's spring season it is probably just chilly outside you know an early picnic to see the sunrise, definitely not a plot hole I realized the moment I started to post it)

So there I was looking through a sonadow discord server chat and someone was talking about possible scenes with a werehog sonic and shadow and one scene stuck out to me the most so I drew it

This one is the first sketch I made in my notebook

The conversation was that sonic just transforms while sleeping and shadow didn't knew a thing so he was suddenly cuddling a giant fur without knowing it and freaks out when he notices it, and of course sonic is too sleepy to care, at the end he just forgets the whole thing the next morning and because he doesn't address it shadow thinks it was all a dream XD

Hi @mintghostko I am your secret santa this year :D selecting a prompt was difficult but after brain storming with my sister I finally decided for the sleepover prompt, and you may ask what are those little blobs doing? These adorable guys love to sing but because they don't have a human voice they show their talent on their own unique way by making crackling and popping sounds, the one in the middle is the only one that can make a whistle to represent high notes, the last image is only to show Danny's glow in the dark pajamas I was too proud of them to not show them
