The idea is to end abuse. Period.

When your dad tries to guilt trip you into visiting him: “well I guess I’ll just spend the weekend all by myself...”
You say “glad to know we’re on the same page.” Slowly, he will have to adapt to just outright telling you what he thinks instead of playing mind games.
When your friend tries to hint that they’re mad at you without saying anything: “Oh, I’m fine, clearly you don’t need to worry about me,”
You say: “I’m glad you’re doing well. Call me if you want to talk, though!” Soon enough, they will accept that they can’t be passive aggressive with you.
When your boyfriend says: “All your friends are great, I really love *insert male friend* especially.”
You say: “I’m so glad you like my friends! I should invite them back soon.” He needs to understand that if he has a problem with your friends, he needs to just voice his concerns instead of being sarcastic and accusatory.
As someone who has lived through several toxic relationships and has an abusive father, I think one of the most important manipulation tools a toxic person has is excessive subtext and hidden meanings in their conversation. It hides all of the actual fighting from the eyes of onlookers while still hurting you, which is scary and makes you feel like you’re making it all up. Don’t put up with this bs. Make them stop hiding.

Yes this needs to happen
Can we please have an undercover op episode of MacGyver with our team under the following names:
Angus MacGyver staring as Lucas Till.
Jack Dalton staring as my king George Eads
Riley Davis as the one and only Tristin Mays
Wilt Bozer as the handsome Justin Hires
and our girl Samantha Cage as the lovely Ms. Isabel Lucas
I know same! I don’t know of any, in part to the fact that like NO ONE KNOWS WHAT DSYGRAPHIA IS! Everyone just thinks I’m mispronounceing dsylexia.
Does anyone know about any artists with dysgraphia, because I’m feeling really discouraged about my abilities, and I just want to know if it’s even possible to become an artist with dysgraphia.
And I have a bone to pick with the writers. The fact that Jack did not walk right in to see Oversight and give his own notice of resignation as soon as Mac left that door says to me that everything they were trying to build in this relationship - Jack following Mac to California after declaring nothing would stop him from seeing Texas, Jack signing up for another tour after saying all he wanted was to get stateside, Jack vehemently declaring that he is there to watch Mac’s back not do anything else for Phoenix besides watch Mac’s back (please see Season 1 Episode 8) - means nothing and they don’t really care about Jack’s character at all.
You wrote this man to be living a Wookie Life Debt with Angus MacGyver and then you write him into letting Mac WALK AWAY? Chewie never left Han, even after all they went through, he never thought “Oh hey this is nice here with the rebellion and Leia guess I’ll just stay while Han goes somewhere else” - HE WENT WITH HIM. He and Han are out smuggling their way through the galaxy even when they’re old and grey.
Why did you not let Jack follow Mac out of Phoenix? Because as far as I could see, he had no actual obligation to stay. Riley was considering leaving, she was with Billy, and if you think she hadn’t talked even a LITTLE with Jack about her thoughts about leaving the life to settle down you are again, sadly and woefully, misunderstanding YOUR OWN WRITING, and Bozer had Leanna to watch his back so he didn’t need Jack to watch out for him while Mac was away.
Without Mac there, Jack had no obligations to Phoenix or Matty or Oversight.
