“Talk nonsense, but talk your own nonsense, and I’ll kiss you for it. To go wrong in one’s own way is better than to go right in someone else’s.”
— Fyodor Dostoyevsky
Starting a new book because being in the middle of four books simply isn't enough for me.
everyone’s out here like “buy Disney plus” “no, pirate!” you fools. the best way to experience a tv show is vicariously through tumblr posts about baby yoda
A/N: Not a request, but I thought we all need a pick-me-up today. Enjoy everyone, and feel free to request anything you’d like to see me write about ~
Seriously, do you realize how aesthetically pleasing the common room is?
I mean, like the blues and bronze made you feel like freakin’ royalty once you walk in
the most musical of the the common rooms - there’s soft sound of choir singing because of the magic, and the blue hues really calms you down REAL fast
I am 100% SURE that there’s AROMATHERAPY going on inside the common room:

"You know, love doesn't mean "l never want you to change." But I don't think it means "I don't care if you change" either. So I suppose it might mean, "I believe that you'll always be the person I adore." A declaration of faith, perhaps."

says Raskolnikov as he murders two women, teases the investigators to death and then smashes his confession in their faces like some belle dame throws away her glove so her idiotic worshippers can kill each other for it
gryffindor. oversized jumpers; roasting marshmallows over a crackling fire; laughing hysterically while pumpkin carving; the smell of cinnamon and baking; playing in puddles with bright gumboots; hair blowing wildly in the wind; cute beanies with pom poms; warm, rosy cheeks; burning your tongue when you sip a hot drink too quickly; early morning runs; worn, flannel shirts; pretending to be a dragon with clouds of warm breath in the cold air
hufflepuff. long, woollen socks; vanilla-scented candles; a warm blanket over your shoulders; jumping into a pile of autumn leaves; fluffy earmuffs; creamy hot chocolate with whipped cream on top; hanging fairylights everywhere; playing with your pet on a warm rug; thick mittens; a warm bath to relax after a long day; the crunching of leaves underfoot; capturing the image of dancing leaves with a vintage camera
ravenclaw. people-watching through foggy windows in cafés; reading a favourite book by candlelight; long, thick scarves; staying up late to play board games; wandering aimlessly under falling leaves; oversized, knitted cardigans; muted sunlight filtered through autumn leaves; late nights binging on netflix; a chilly wind freezing the tip of your nose; scribbling in notebooks under overcast skies; the natural silence of the woods; the dancing tendrils of steam from a mug of hot tea
slytherin. cold and misty mornings; warming your hands on a mug of hot coffee; dark lip colours; the dance of walking barefoot across a cold floor; stylish, long overcoats; falling asleep to the pattering of rain on the window; meandering wooded roads; lace-up leather boots; the flickering of candlelight in the dark; lying on a tartan blanket while listening to music through headphones; burying yourself in soft, warm blankets at the end of the day
Hufflepuff: *trying to study*
Ravenclaw: *zooming across the floor by sliding in their socks*
Hufflepuff: Raven, why aren’t you studying for the test tomorrow?
Ravenclaw: *skidding* theRE’S A TEST TOMORROW??? *crashes into a bookcase*
Deaf Ravenclaw students learning to translate spells into sign language and going on to become pros at wandless magic because you can’t hold a wand while using sign language. They invent their own spells that involve really subtle hand movements - they look like they’re just twiddling their thumbs but they’re actually cursing your hair to fall out. They’re terrifying dueling partners in DADA. And they charmed the eagle statue outside the common room to have magical subtitles and respond to sign language.
Me: I don't underline and highlight sentences in a book for nothing. I do that to reflect upon the important things and ideas later so I can better understand the core theme of the book and enrich my knowledge and perspective of life.
Also me: *underlines every time a character 'flung himself on to the sofa' in the Picture of Dorian Gray*
the iliad + the odyssey = the idiocy
