New favorite thing:
Trying to convince my boyfriend that All Creatures Great and Small is a wacky show about psychopaths as they try to blend into society.
the shadow king @ charles xavier
Excuse me, but who was going to tell me that the guy who played Milligan is 6'6?! Surely that can't be right?
No wonder he voiced Thor in the latest God of War, the dude could have been Thor if Marvel possessed any sense.
I know I'm not the target demographic for this movie, so I'm not going to say too much about it. I do have a genuine question though:
Why does the Rat King move and look like the Other Mr. Bobinsky?
Is it the standard "hoards of rats trying to look human" style? The Amazing Muarice and His Educated Rodents is one of the few main Discworld books I haven't read, so I don't know how it's described in the book. I have read and watched Coraline though, and I did just get done watching The Amazing Maurice.
I for one, welcome our new Transgender Alien overlords
Twenty bucks to anyone who can tell me what GK Chesterton was talking about when he mentioned Flambeau's "spiked bracelet."
Genuinely tweaking rn. I'm so close to going back to my campus without any incidents. I just need two more days. Please.
So I was reading the Terrance Dicks novelization of some of the Second Doctor's stories to see what descriptors for him are used, and I really love in "The Web of Fear" one that Dicks gave us an actual scene where the Doctor and the the Brigadier have their meet-cute.
Because as much as I really like Web of Fear, I think one of the main problems with it (other than the fucking missing episodes) is that for such an influential character for the Doctor, they basically meet off screen. Like, this is the first time we see them together:
Which will eventually turn into this:
And since this was written in '76, there's even a little paragraph explaining that this character will eventually become a really big deal to the Doctor. Idk if Lethbridge-Stewart was originally going to be such a big character, so I just think it's kinda cool that he retroactively gives him a slightly better introduction, even if the original one is still pretty fire.
I'm forever going to think about the perfect casting in Stargirl and what a waste it was that the show was canceled and buried. Johnathan Cake as The Shade and he never made main cast or got that spinoff with Jade and Obsidian?! Criminal. Absolutely criminal.
And it's not like Gunn's in a rush to bring any of those characters to the big screen, let alone cast anyone who isn't an A-tier recognizable brand actor.
I'm telling you, every once and awhile my heart weeps.
Happy Birthday Terry Pratchett 🎂 🥳
First off, the first Discworld book I read was Reaper Man, so I would totally suggest reading that one first.
Along those lines, I think my favorite (main) character is...Death!! He's such a dork I love him.
Lastly, my favorite book has got to be Making Money. It was the third Discworld book I ever read, and it has my favorite character interactions in it. Also, my favorite side character Cosmo Lavish!!
(I don't care what anyone says, my man did nothing wrong.)
Finished the Gunfighters.
Terrible jokes and ramblings and OH GOD, THE PAIN! THE UNENDURABLE AGONY! (howdy)
