Happy Birthday Terry Pratchett 🎂 🥳
First off, the first Discworld book I read was Reaper Man, so I would totally suggest reading that one first.
Along those lines, I think my favorite (main) character is...Death!! He's such a dork I love him.
Lastly, my favorite book has got to be Making Money. It was the third Discworld book I ever read, and it has my favorite character interactions in it. Also, my favorite side character Cosmo Lavish!!
(I don't care what anyone says, my man did nothing wrong.)
So for one of my college finals we get to do a creative project. One of the options is to write a screenplay for a scene that could fit into one of the shows we watched this semester (basically fanfiction in my opinion) and I'm choosing to do Dawson's Creek.
So I'm looking up technologies and stuff from the late 90's that teens would have adopted as the were introduced and that got me thinking about videogames which got me thinking about Half Life.
Looking it up, evidently Half Life was Valve's first game? How can they have been founded in 1996 and then 2 years later dropped one of the most influential video games of all time and then continue to put out mostly wonderful stuff until their seeming partial retirement?
Man, I hope Taylor Mac doesn't turn out to be problematic or anything because I've watched Taylor Mac's 24-Decade History of Popular Music documentary on Max 5 times now and it is definitely one of my new favorite comfort shows.
Mac's performance, the accompanying musicians, and the costumes are all so amazing.
There's a really cool point in this if you will bear with me, okay!
Peter Serafinowicz voices Death in the new audio books and in the new The Amazing Maurice, right? He's kind of like the new official Death in productions now like Christopher Lee was.
BUT guess what other show he was on that is a complete tonal shift and I didn't even realize it was him? He was The Tick in the Amazon Prime show!!! I absolutely LOVED this show!
(The bastard hid his britishness)
And now get this!
Sir David Jason played Rincwind in the Colour of Magic adaptation, okay? Well he also played Albert in the Hogfather Adaption!
There were a few other actors that where in both as well.
My point is:
Actors play in different things and everytime I discover this I get really excited for no reason 🙃.
Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.
When my roommate's new kittens get into my lunch I left out:
Does anyone remember the original Star Trek Episode Assignment: Earth? The one where the crew travel back in time and there is the alien that is trying to stop WW3 and has a sexy cat lady and a strong female receptionist?
Why does that episode feel like a backdoor pilot? Looking it up, those characters only appear in a few books and some non-canon comics. Hardly a group that will have an "interesting future".
Edit:
It was a backdoor pilot lol. The series never got made. Star Trek needs to bring those characters back. I want to know about that cat lady.
I just finished watching Muppet Mayhem and it was alright. One important question though. How are you going to have episode 8 be called "Virtual Insanity", and not have Dr. Teeth with one of his stupid/amazing tophats:
Doing one of the most meme-able parts of the song:
Huh?! If this is true, that's amazing! Maybe if they win stuff Disney might put them back on the streaming service?
With Tony Hale and Marta Kessler both being nominated for the first time for mbs!
This timelord technology is getting out of hand. First his infinite pockets, and now his infinite hat.
I know that I've made this joke before, but the fact that the second Doctor's hat is almost always slightly off-screen always gives me big Doug Dimmadome vibes.
But to be fair, the actual length of his hat is also too funny for me to take seriously anyway.
Terrible jokes and ramblings and OH GOD, THE PAIN! THE UNENDURABLE AGONY! (howdy)
