wait, so if Telemachus says yes I can marry him?
girl has “no we can’t share him” but you are already sharing him with another Circe and a son of Gaea
I didn’t know of the child of Gaea situation until it was already out of my control, and the other circe is still me. And thats what Telemachus wanted to do. If he’s okay with it im all for it. Also, your explanation wasn’t grammatically correct, anon.
just a reminder that the “creator” @ notmyannabeth is taking fanart of leah’s annabeth and whitewashing it!! do not like from that account
i’m going to look for all the original fan art and tag the actual artists
If you’re having a bad day, here’s a parakeet in a teacup hat.
I had the book so I just took a picture
(sorry that the quality is bad)
I've been meaning to read the Illiad and the Odyssey for ages but keep putting it off cause I've heard they're hard reads/written kinda complicated. I was just wondering if the version you have is an easier read? What's the writing style like?
I would say it is a slightly easier read than some of the ones I’ve read in the past! Emily Wilson’s are structured into a more poem/verse type story, and since they are newer translations I would say they have the advantage of more so modern language?
These are pictures of the first page of two of my versions of the Odyssey! The first is the Emily Wilson Translation (2018) and the second is Samuel Butler (1900)
And this one is one from the first page of Emily Wilson’s Iliad (2023) (I don’t have another to compare it to sadly)
Overall I greatly enjoy her translations! I’m not done reading her Iliad yet, but so far it is turning out to be really good!!!
@telemachus-of-ithaca
I love these designs so fucking much and I’m SO ready for Telemachus
Looking forward to them appearing in the next Saga 🤍
Hi!!^^
So I wanted to ask about how to pronounce Polites. This whole time I thought it was Poll-ites but then I heard Jorge pronounce it Pole-ites. But when I went back and listened to "full speed ahead" the first time he says it after Polites says "Captain!" he pronounces it like Poll but then when he says his name again he pronounces it Pole. I'm so confused help ;n;
I say it like Poll-ites? (Poe-lites)? Though I think both ways are very very similar? I think the differences you are hearing in the musical might just be the pacing of his name to fit in time with the music? Maybe?
whoever reblogs this gets a hug from me
did anyone else notice that in Percy Jackson and The Olympian’s episode 6, you can hear Nico? It’s a little easter egg that Rick put there. It took me a while to notice it, but if you listen closely you can hear someone saying ‘Bianca, Bianca,’. He sounds so tiny, and later on at the vr game you see someone with a bow and arrow and a kid with his back turned to us. You can even see Grover visibly react to hearing this, he looks around and can tell when a demigod is around because he’s a satyr. The time stamp is 12:32 seconds, and you can hear it again 20:15 (some people say you can hear a girl saying Nico at 20:17, but I can’t hear it)
THE IRON SQUAD!
It's FINALLY done and only took some blood, sweat tears and 4 days.
(☆-points for whoever can tell me what Liam is signing)
