thinking about klefki. the beautiful beautiful boy.

look at his silly face. his rotund shape. do you ever think he collects keys because he too looks like one? is the reason he doesn’t let go is because he thinks of them as brothers, as friends?

“object pokémon are lazy and stupid,” you may argue. klefki may not look like any traditional pokémon. but he still feels. he can still express emotion through those keyhole like features of his. klefki is just trying to live his life through his niche interest, and all you want to do is call him unoriginal and uninspiring. he keeps people’s keys safe. they TRUST in klefki. klefki is a friend of the community. it was driven out of its natural habitat from a lack of food. now he gives back to society, and they give back to him: with keys.

not to mention he is a STEEL/FAIRY type with PRANKSTER and MAGICIAN as ability choices. with a move that prevents pokémon from switching out. and spikes. and magic room, if you didn’t feel like running magician. things that would be so prominent in competitive they could only bestow it to something with a 470 BST.

i for one, will be happy to see klefki return and able to be caught in bulk in legends za. you better appreciate him too.

i wish legends felt more like a traditional rpg because i’d love to hear rei/akari’s thought on seeing someone that looks just like their best friend except with crippling anxiety spirals

the dynamic of the E4 in paldea is an underrated good point about the series. I was a little annoyed not having the experience of walking into each room to challenge them, but it was made up for by the little moments of them calling out to one another

this is going to tie into a self-indulgent post i’m working on but i think that the pla protagonist would choose to go back. i’m in the minority(?) thinking that lucas/dawn does NOT experience amnesia (for the longing angst) and that they’d eventually go back using arceus’ help as barry and whoever isn’t chosen is anxiously searching for them.

after readjusting to the modern life, i think the pla protag would pursue a career in sinnoh history now that they have first hand experience

if the pla protagonist goes home or not, they suffer either way. lose the friends they made in hisui, or be forever trapped in the past.

personally my favorite pokémom was the alola one. 7 years and she still probably hasn’t unpacked those boxes.
