Here we go;

• ‘Promise’ has broken Drake’s record of most streams in 24 hours by almost 4 million streams.

• It has become the most streamed BTS song on souncloud in just four days. It has been on soundclouds front page for two days.

•The song and the records it broke was reported by 145 media outlets in total(approx).

- Three of the biggest Korean music news outlets and international media including, Rolling Stones, billboard, NME, NY times, ET and freakin Forbes.

This was his first official solo and it has already set limits that’ll be hard for anyone to break. His first solo has taken over the world, literally.

Kmedia and international media are in no mood to stop reporting about this song and the man behind it all. I’m honestly so content right now.

This, right here, is what he deserves. What he is made of. This is what happens when you don’t give a shit about the people who’re hating and trying to bring you down. This is what happens when you just focus on your work and ignore the people who are trying to undercut your success or take credit for your achievements.

He is statistically the most popular solo artist right now and not just in Korea. All this in just four damn days. You see, this is what Jimin is capable of; he’s not some damsel in distress as they portray him to be in burn the stage. He doesn’t need your praise or acceptance. He knows he’s fire and this man right here slayed the music scene in merely four days. So keep your ideas of him being weak or insecure within your head cause, his insecurities have made him stronger and as for now, Park Jimin is so damn powerful that he drops free songs that break commercial music records.

• Lie has the most streams out of all solos on Spotify.

• Serendipity has the most views out of all intros.

• Promise is the most streamed BTS song on soundcloud and literally just broke a global record.

So here’s a personal request to all you Jimin antis out here;

Keep hating him, keep calling him names, please oh please keep making fun of his voice cracks and his eyes and everything you can think of. Go ahead, try and bring him down with your words and discredit him for his positions in the group. Do whatever you can to hate on him but always remember that

Karma might be a bitch but she’s a Jimin bias first. 💋

I’m So Glad That Our Collective Reaction To The Batman (2022) Has Been To Point At This Brooding Loner

Anyways saw jason being brought into a titans post recently because it seems fandom has this idea that Dick didn't mourn Jason/didn't care about him/whatever.

So anyways. Let's talk about post-crisis because that's the standard when ppl bring up Robin!Jason.

Fanon myth #1: When Dick mourns Jason, he's grieving someone he didn't know.

Canon: Post-crisis didn't have a ton of time to establish the new version of Jason's character, but they dedicated a whole issue to Dick reacting to Jason being Robin, had Jason show up in The New Titans, and frankly set things up so that their relationship was pretty much unchanged from pre-crisis (which was a good relationship).

The issue I just mentioned has Dick start out as annoyed in the beginning because Bruce didn't tell him there was a new Robin and Jason messed up a case he was stalking out. He's a bit harsh with Jason at first, but it's not meant to be something unforgivably mean - it's understandable. By the end of the issue they've given each other like 3 nicknames a piece (shorty, old-timer, kid, Mr. Nightwing, Mr. Robin, etc) and end by bonding over kicking the crud out of some dudes. It takes Dick all of one day to warm up to Jason lmfao, he's mildly harsh on day 1 and day 2 he gives Jason his old costume and contact information and it ends like this:

A series of three comic book panels. The first has Jason and Dick standing over a pile of guys on the ground. A narration box says "120 seconds later." Dick: "Not bad for a beginner, kid. But you could use some practice on that sidekick." Jason: "Duly noted, old-timer. I'll work on it." The two smile at each other and shake hands, you can see Bruce's outline up above. Narration: "The two of them are flush with the thrill of their well-earned victory. They don't think to look up. So they don't see me." The final panel shows a close up of Bruce's face in the Batman cowl. His face is set in a proud smile. Bruce: "But even if they did, they're too far away to see me smile. Thanks, Dick."

Batman (1940) #416

Now if that's the only issue you read, I too would be a bit skeptical, like "oh he showed up one time, everyone knows he had to at least pretend to try" and if you're reading through a reading list for Robin!Jason and are uninterested in Dick, you'll miss this next thing.

This is Danny Chase, a member of the Titans. He's searching for reserve members of the Titans because he's bored as he got left home alone when the Titans went to space without him.

A series of panels showing. First is Jason Todd's face on a screen with the words "Robin-2" and below that "Status:". In the next panel it shows those words repeated at the top and then Danny's surprised face, his glasses reflecting the screen. Danny: "Huh?" At the bottom of the screen it says "Robin-2" then "Status:" then "Unknown" with each word on a different line. Finally, Danny looks up saying "'Unknown?' I don't get it. I spoke to the Toddster last week? What could have--"

The New Titans #52

Remember that there wasn't a ton of time for them to set up Jason's new characterization, but in universe, he still was Robin for about 3 years. In pre-crisis times, Jason did appear in the New Teen Titans, most notably helping save Dick and Raven from Brother Blood. This is something that is implied to be carried over from pre-crisis into post-crisis continuity, as Danny (who wasn't even on that mission) knows about Jason, has a nickname for Jason, and talked to him the week before he died - ergo the Titans, including Dick stayed in contact with Jason after that mission.

So yes, even in that tiny sliver of time that we got post-crisis Jason, the writers went out of their way to establish Dick and Jason's relationship. They couldn't do it more because it was literally like. A year.

Fanon myth #2: Dick didn't mourn Jason.

Canon: This likely comes from Dick being pretty much okay by the time A Lonely Place of Dying comes around. That's Bruce's arc, but that doesn't mean that Dick didn't have one - he, literally did.

In my expert opinion, he looks pretty upset about Jason dying here... and this is his initial reaction, not retconned or anything - this is a direct response to "A Death in the Family". Basically Danny goes "hey i think Jason died" and it sets off this chain of events

A series of comic book panels. Dick limps away from Kory, one hand reaching back as if pushing her away. His left leg is wrapped in bandages and his costume is torn up, and he's using a crutch. Danny stands behind him with his palms facing up, explaining. Raven is in the doorway saying "You must be mistaken." Kory: "Dick, where are you going?" Dick: "I've got to find out." Danny: "I've tried calling Wayne's place, but nobody ever answers." The next panel has Dick sits at the Titans computer with Danny, Kory, Joey, and Raven looking on. Dick: "I've linked the Titans computer into Bruce's computer in the Batcave. I can access any information that's in there." Danny: "I know. That's how I found out." Dick looks desperately at the screen as Kory looks at him in concern. Kory: "Dick, calm down. There could be a mistake." Dick: "If there is, then I'll take it easy. Oh lord -- Jason!" The next panel has Jason's profile on the screen. Danny: "See -- it says whereabout unknown. No info. That doesn't make any sense." Dick: "Shut up, Danny. I can use Bruce's password to bypass this main screen." The next panel shows the following computer readout: "HT: 5'4, Deceased, of death, of death" with commas representing line breaks. Dick clenches his fists to the sides of his head and tears drip from eyes squeezed shut and he screams "No! No!! Nooooo!!" with the second "No" bolded and the third one written in red bubble letters. The dialogue bubble has jagged edges. The next panel has Joey, Donna, Terry, and Raven all looking upset. Donna: "Jason... dead? My god. How old was he, anyway? How did it happen?" Terry: "I didn't want you to find out this way." Raven: "Richard-- do you need my help?" The next panel has Dick hunched over on the desk with his hands gripping his head. Kory stands over him almost touching his head, and Danny is on the other side. Dick: "No... no! Don't do anything to me, Raven." Danny: "I think it happened a week or two ago. I'm not sure." The next panel shows Danny talking and Kory looking concerned. Danny: "There's been nothing in the papers -- sorta like the secretary disavowing any info and such." Kory: "Danny, maybe this isn't the best time..." The final panel shows Dick crying and gritting his teeth veins popping out of his hand as he holds his head, his eyes are covered in shadows and tears drip off his nose. Danny continues "Hey, we knew the job was dangerous when we took it!"
Dick lunges forward grabbing Danny by the collar of his shirt and smacking him against the computer hard enough to knock off his glasses. Kory stands behind him with her arms up and mouth open in shock. Dick: "You stupid little jerk. God, I can't believe how idiotic you are! I thought it was because you were a kid -- but you're really just plain dumb!" Kory: "Dick--" Danny: "Hey, leggo. Wh-what are you doing?" Kory reaches forward and Donna and Joey rushed forward. Dick stands over Danny, still holding him by his collar. Dick: "No, get back, Kory. I can't keep listening to this moron thinking life's just another statistic. Not when he nearly fell apart when it was his own blood that was spilled." Dick pulls Danny close to his face, scowling at him. Dick: "Listen -- this is real life. Not some Jason Bond spy story where the bad guys get blown away and the good guys always live." Danny: "Lay off, man, before I use my powers." Kory, Donna, and Joey cluster around Dick, who's sweating, still looking down at Danny (off panel). Donna: "Dick... c'mon. Step back."

The New Titans #55

And that's just the initial reaction. Later in the issue, after taking time to think things through, he fires Danny from the team with part of his reasoning being:

"I've been thinking about what happened with Jason and I honestly don't know if we should be taking responsibility for someone as young as you."

From here, chronologically speaking, he visits Jason's grave and expresses guilt over giving Jason his old costume and notes that Bruce didn't even try contacting him about the funeral, which he had missed.

Next we have a not super well known Secret Origins issue where he confronts his feelings about Jason while stuck hallucinating in limbo, and this issue actually acknowledges the incident with Brother Blood and Jason helping out, which confirms it was brought along into the new continuity. Basically these panels sum up the incident.

A series of four panels, the first has Dick waking up. He says "Unngh! Please tell me I'm not still dreaming. Tell me that I'm really here!" The next panel shows his back as he starts to sit up. From left to right Raven, Gar, Joey, Malcom, Karen, Donna, Vic, and Lilith all crowd around his bed. Raven: "We're real, Richard. We're all real. You're home." Kory: "Thank X'Hal." Kory wraps her arms around Dick, standing behind him. Kory: "Oh, Dick... we were all so scared..." Dick: "Kory... man -- it's like seeing you for the first time again. But please -- can someone finally fill me in on what happened?" Raven: "It was the antithesis, Richard. It wanted revenge." Kory and Dick look at Raven. Raven: "Years ago it transformed its servant, Mr. Twister, into the gargoyle to use deceit and psychological assaults against you. He failed. That's when vengeance became an obsession. So they waited-- until your recent emotional turmoil made you vulnerable. The goal was to crush your spirit-- so you wouldn't have the strength to escape. You would beg to remain in limbo. You were already in a drug-induced slumber when we arrived -- and we feared a sudden awakening might prove fatal. There was also Malcom."

Secret Origins Annual (1987) #3

So yeah the "recent emotional turmoil" is Jason dying and Dick's conversation with Bruce (where Bruce blames him for making him need a partner, blames him for Jason's death, punches him in the face while Dick is still injured from the space mission, and kicks him out of the house). And the "drug-induced slumber" is because Dick at some point has started taking sleeping pills, and he feels like shit at the start of the issue and takes one so he can get some rest (which then backfires). Also in this issue, he mentions that he's seeing a therapist (he hallucinates and is like hmm maybe i should call them, before being like, no it's probably fine, I'm just on edge... which rip).

In The New Titans #57, which takes place after this, we see him talking to his therapist, and going to confront Bruce, which now kicks off A Lonely Place of Dying with him in a better place now that he's had some time to talk things out with his therapist and such.

However he still doesn't like bringing up Jason

Tim looks over Dick's shoulder. Tim: "How about Jason Todd?" Dick: "You don't throw softballs, do you?"

Robin (1993) #0

Here they brought him up for exposition, but let's not forget the time Dick beat the Joker to death because he brought up Jason's name. He thought Tim had been killed by the Joker too, but the clown saying Jason's name sends him over the edge.

Dick stands in front of the Joker who is on the ground. Joker: "Aw... Jeez... I hit Jason a lot harder than that." Close up of Joker's beaten and bloody face. Joker: "His name was Jason, right?" Close up of Dick's face as he grimaces and moves in for a punch. The final panel has Dick sitting on the Joker who flails up and arm and a leg as Dick angrily punches him.

Last Laugh #6

After this he's incredibly upset with himself and locks himself in his apartment and when Wally comes to talk to him he finds him looking at a bunch of old photographs, one of which Dick picks up at the end and stares at, which is labelled "Me and Jason". And further on the grieving ends of things, in Nightwing Secret Files #1 the first story features him hallucinating Jason who leads him through his life story (again exposition time lmfao). And in Gotham Knights #26, when Tim brings up Jason in an argument, Dick looks crushed and Tim just apologizes at that point, because he knows he crossed a line. So yeah. Dick grieved Jason.

Fandom myth #3: No one even cared Jason came back and they were incredibly mean and out of line, especially Dick who threw him in Arkham three doors down from the Joker!!!! Jason was pit mad he deserves none of this mistreatment!!!

Canon: Jason came back right before another crisis, the one Dick was supposed to die in, and actually gloated about Dick dying to Bruce's face, while trying to become a drug lord and trying to force Bruce to kill the Joker. Jason then proceeded after the crisis (which had left Dick in a three week coma - he pretty much didn't have the time/opportunity to respond to Jason being alive right away) to dress up as Nightwing and run around New York City killing criminals and through a bizarre series of events, Dick ends up saving him from being eaten by a tentacle monster and then Jason himself becomes a tentacle monster, and Brothers in Blood is an arc that exists...

Dick is conflicted about Jason coming back considering that Jason is you know, going around murdering criminals as Nightwing. He talks to a therapist but when Jason does ask for help, he does decide to go and save him. So he does well... care, it's just complicated because Jason as Red Hood isn't the Jason Dick remembers.

Jason has actually gone to prison twice. The first time Tim in his infinite wisdom decided now, right after Jason tried to start a gang war where his grand plan was "use the kiddie gangs as fodder" and uniting the gangs under the "good cops", would be the perfect time to give him a second chance.

Now the Arkham thing: when Dick became Batman, he decided to renovate Arkham and get ride of all the torture and shit that was going on, because he had spent some time there undercover and was like, getting tortured fucking sucks.

At this point, Jason, with his second chance decides he's going to use it becoming the "Batman Gotham needs" nearly kills Tim (who literally gets away by playing dead using a bullshit technique to slow his heart rate) and shoots Damian in the chest, and also attacks Dick as well (he's not messing around he literally sprays Dick with fear gas in this fight). He then becomes the Red Hood again and kidnaps Dick and Damian in a ploy to unmask them in front of the internet. The police capture Jason, and Dick pulls some strings to get Jason sent to Arkham - he has to pull strings because Jason doesn't actually belong there

Jason speaking up at Batman. Jason: "I have passed all of my physch exams -- multiple times. I'm simply homicidal. Will I kill again? Sure. Am I a bad person? Oh yeah. So keep me locked up. Just not here."

Batman and Robin (2009) #23

And note: the joker just attacked everyone so like he's not in Arkham, he broke out a while ago. And also note: Jason's sane, he's passed all evaluations, he calls himself sane, he is making these decisions not out of pit madness, but because it's what he wants to do. So, why did they pull strings to put him in Arkham? Simple:

"He won't be safe in a conventional prison... there will be a list of enemies a mile long locked up in there with him. Unless he's in twenty-four-hour protective custody, all he'll be doing is fending off attacks."

- Dick Grayson, Batman and Robin (2009) #23

So yeah. He was in Arkham because Dick cared enough not to let him just die. Their relationship isn't by any means good in this period, but Dick very clearly, still cares.

Dick holds out a hand as Nightwing, Jason staring back up at him. Dick: "The fight is over Jason, take my hand. You have no choice!" Jason grins, blood trickling down his face. Jason: "But I do have a choice." Dick: "Don't do it! You can reform! I'll see to that!" Jason: "What's the matter, Dick? Don't want my blood on your hands? Well, it's too late!" Dick reaches out his hand. Dick: "Take it. Now, Jason. Take my hand!" Jason grins darkly at him. Jason: "I'll be seeing you sooner than you think." Jason falls down towards the water as Dick screams "NOOOOOO!" in bubble red letters. Internally he thinks "It didn't have to end this way." Jason then drops all the way into the water.

Batman: Battle for the Cowl #3

I hope that clears things up. @not-your-regular-nerd, tagging you because you recently seemed to have some confusion about how Dick could grieve other people but not Jason. I'd recommend reading some of the comics I mentioned if you don't think Dick cared about Jason. Him caring about Donna dying is not mutually exclusive to caring about Jason dying.

Bruce Wayne, trying to go over the case of a murder victim but very confused: Tim, why are you wearing sunglasses in the Cave?

Tim Drake, wearing sunglasses to cover up his black eye that he got last night because there was no patrol but he and his siblings went for a joyride in the Batmobile and events led to his head slamming into the steering wheel: uhhhh

Dick Grayson, very desperately trying to hide this fact from Bruce because he's supposed to be the responsible elder sibling: B, if I may. Tim spoke to us all about a week ago about wearing sunglasses to all murder briefings moving forward to show respect for the dead. I simply forgot. And Jason refused because he has no value for human life.

Jason Todd, very much enjoying watching his brothers squirm but playing along because it's definitely his fault Tim's head slammed into the steering wheel: It's true, I don't.
