Gryffindor: 

the hemingway’s of the world

their writing is full of angst and personal experience

can often come across as anecdotic- they take what has happened to them and apply it to a broader spectrum

there is an underlying current of passion in everything they write

many late nights w/ coffee because they were suddenly inspired at 2am while nearly dreaming

Ravenclaw: 

the fantasy writers

create whole worlds bc they aren’t satisfied with the one’s they are in

stories often make a statement on real world issues in a creative way

prefers to use a typewriter/hand-write their stories

shares their ideas with very few

almost never finishes a story bc they have so many half-finished ideas swirling in their heads

Slytherin: 

the realistic writers

creates painfully authentic, multi-faceted characters with abundant flaws

their writings aren’t meant to teach a lesson; simply to share a story

draw inspiration from those around them; MAJOR people watchers

their writing is highly sophisticated and not easy to digest; you have to pay attention to every detail

prefer writing in the 3rd person; like to take an omnipotent view as a way of removing themselves from the piece

take great pride in their work and don’t reveal it until it’s at a standard that they approve of (and that bar is HIGH) 

Hufflepuff: 

the poets

a lot of YA authors are hufflepuff

create beautiful imagery in everything they write

their attention to detail is impeccable; they want to ensure that what they imagine is what the audience also envisions

their writing is raw with emotion and makes the reader feel for the characters

1st person stories

very open/receptive to criticism; seeks out ways to improve upon their creation

their stories always have a moral that they want the world to know

everything they write is a piece of them

Listen listen is the Percy Jackson show making changes so big that even me with my horrible little memory is noticing - yes Do I care - absolutely not I'm still enjoying the show and the changes so far have just helped keep me on my toes bc wtf do you mean Percy has 4 pearls?!?? There’s something extremely heartbreaking about Nicos cameo/first words in the show being him looking for Bianca. He’s always going to be the little boy looking for his big sister. Season three is going to be the end of me.

holds your face very gently. listen. listen to me: Grover and Percy are soulmates. Their lives are very literally tied together and they cannot exist without the other. Canonically, if one of them dies, they both die. They literally share a telepathic link that they can use to communicate from literally anywhere and they can feel each other's feelings. They are best friends and their lives are physically bound to one another. This is so important to me.

Percy at ease

Percy calm, but a little on edge

Percy when mildly angry

Friendly reminder that Percy jackson - our beloved silly adorable seaweed brain - is absolutely terrifying. When he’s angry, when he’s scared, when he’s on edge - he’s not warm and fuzzy.

No other character gets that reaction from people. Jason (the sweetie) is perceived as calm and in control, nico (our favorite self-outcasted outcast) is perceived as solemn and creepy, reyna (girlboss queen slay) is perceived as confident and assertive, and annabeth (our girl) is perceived as fierce, clever, and formidable. They are all intimidating to an extent.

But not like Percy. No. Becasue even when he’s at ease, he’s described as wild and disobedient. And when he’s not at ease, even if just little bit, he’s perceived as powerful, dangerous, and scary. Someone who NOBODY wants to mess with. Nobody even questions his power. One look from him has literal gangs running the other way. One look from him has Leo so scared that he’s literally shaking, and feeling the same innate fright and alarm that he does when jason summons an ear-piercing, earth-shaking, deadly bolt of lighting.

like… HELLO??? can we all just sit on that for a moment?? good lord

One angry look from percy has people thinking one thing: Run.

Percy is, canonically, the character that people find the most frightening and intimidating.

And unless he’s in a good mood - which you better hope he is - the reality is that most of us would be completely terrified of him if we met him.

There really is no denying that Percabeth are soulmates like Annabeth has all these trust issues and abandonment issues and she finds someone who’s FATAL FLAW IS THAT HE IS TOO LOYAL?! Like he will literally never betray her or abandon her. Percy never thinks he’s good enough for anything or anyone and Annabeth may not be the first person to see his potential, but she’s the first person to make him believe it. Annabeth believes in Percy even when he doesn’t believe in himself. Like they were made for each other and no one else
