weeeeee, answered my first ask
- Scott is still Jean’s play toy
-He never stops trying to fix her. I mean, it’s cute but I need some character development. Li,e does he do anything other than scream, “JEAAAANNNN!”
- He was ten times better in the fucking comics. I swear.
-My soft wife, Jubilee, is completely gone. She is neither mentioned or shown. Hate that so much.
-Jean already had the Dark Phoenix power in Apopcalupse, but she gets it again??? Sure, whatever, gets you money, Fox. You literally forgot a movie that YOU made.
-Timeline is messed up all over again. How old is Jean? Nobody knows, at least she’s older than eight.
-The evil aliens were just in the way for the whole movie, were originally supposed to be the Skrulls, and they had less screen time in the comics. The first time they are introduced, the die. There is literally no need for them.
-Also, they had no background and they were only there for train scene. Literally, no point to them for the majority of the film.
-Same thing with Storm. Up until the train scene, there was no point for her character.
-Quicksilver, best character, is injured so badly that he is no longer seen in the movie until the final scene.
-Magnet goes through the same character arc as he did before. Lives on an island, decides to fight against the X-Men, gets captured by some intelliagance group, helps the X-Men out in the end. I swear, even Michael Fassbended is getting tired of this shit.
-He still doesn’t know that Peter is his son. What the actual fuck???
-Nightcrawler, well-known pacifist and Catholic, goes on a killing spree after seeing someone die. This plot-point makes no sense because real fans know he wouldn’t do this without at least praying before and after the battle.
-Jean dies and comes back as the Phoenix Force??? I honestly don’t know at this point.
- None of the actors wanted to do this movie. Sophie Turner just wanted to leave the franchise all together along with Jennifer Lawrence, Fassbender, and James McAvoy. Everyone is bored and over the whole storyline.
-Also, what the fuck was this line??? Mystique says to Charles, “The women in this group do more than the women. Maybe we should be called the X-Women. You ever think of that?”
-I’m all for female empowerment, but no one gives a shit. It’s already a gender-neutral term. I swear, Jennifer Lawrence just wanted to seem “woke” for no reason.
-They also named the school after Jean rather than Mystique. She was the women who inspired all the mutant students to be themselves, but I guess that doesn’t matter anymore. Fuck this shit.
-The visuals were okay, not the best for a Fox movie. But they brought some color to a pretty bland movie.
-Depicting Charles as a villain who manipulated all his students rather than trying to fix them is a really good choice.
-I liked this part of the movie because it showed a different side of Charles. The one side that makes mistakes, realizes this, and tries his best to fix it. The truth bombs from Mystique and Hank really sold the fact that Charles had been in the wrong for years.
-The breakdown from Hank/Beast was very cool. He cares for his sort-of-girlfriend of many years. But I hated how he quickly changed from sides. He flip-flopped more than Black Widow in Civil War.
-The bromance between Charles and Erik is still going strong. The only good thing that lasted through the whole movie. They love each other.

Why are “are you following me?” “Focus!” and “get it?” Madoka’s catchphrases
I like how Metal Fury takes the Chosen One trope and shows us several different scenarios with the trope.
Like, there’s Gingka, who’s set on doing what he has to do. Then, we have Kyoya who wants to focus on a smaller issue — defeating Gingka. Then, there’s Dynamis who’s dedicated his whole life to the prophecy, and Yuki who doesn’t want the world to end.
On the other hand, we also have King who just wants to use his newfound power to do something he couldn’t before — battling. There’s also Aguma for whom Beylin Fist takes priority over his role as a Legendary Blader, and Chris who doesn’t really understand what’s going on. And then, there’s Tithi who is only fighting because of his friend — I mean, he agrees to join Kyoya only if Yuu is coming along as well.
Of course, we also have Ryuuga who just wants to take everyone’s power and become the strongest of all.
“Chosen One” is a pretty common trope but giving nine different reactions by different Chosen Ones was a nice decision.

These two scenes have the exact same energy and I absolutely hate it!
No, cause honestly... now I wanna write this
After watching episode 39 and talking it over with a friend, I think it would be neat if Alice knew she was Masquerade the entire time yet kept it up out of spite for the brawlers never letting her in on much. Just a thought
So I know everyone is losing their minds about the lore drops & Amtity & Luz stuff from this EP, but I just wanted to take a moment to talk about Gus cuz this was a big ep for him and no one is talking about it much (that I’ve seen)
So like, here’s my breakdown & thoughts
We got to hear more about how Gus feels about being in a higher grade and his magic (which knowing someone that was moved up grades when they were young, it did seem realistic)
We learned more about Glandus High and what it’s like being a student there
We learned a fair bit about illusionists and how they’re viewed, it’s pretty interesting that they are seen as weak, even though we’ve seen just how strong they can be, esp for tricks & spy work (like turning invisible), along with sending messages long ways (I sorta wonder if Belos may have made them seen as weak so it’d be less likely for people to try to spy on him)
Gus had made a friendenemy outside the main cast! (Since they started joking with each other and are gonna hang out on weekends I think we’re gonna see more of Mattholomule & Gus’s relationship)
Gus is gonna be learning more about old illusionist magic and had befriend a old (+maybe powerful) illusionist, I think he might start learning better spells or ones that aren’t learnt at school
These ruins Gus & Mattholomule seem to be important, since they have things that can make people more powerful and were used in marketing, I think they might come into play as a big part of the story.
As a whole this EP seemed to have Gus’s story as the A plot with Luz’s story as the B plot, which was bold & I enjoyed, though it makes me sad that poeple aren’t talking as much about Gus’s side of things, he’s a very cool character and seems to have things that could tie him to the bigger plot (these ruins, the fact that he has interest in the human world aka might know more about Philip Wittebane, has magic that doesn’t need to overpower someone to deal with them (for real, a illusionist spell done at the right moment, in the right context could easily take down Belos, he thinks he’s got the door when really it’s a man-eating plant or something like that)
