How does the AVRP work?

The AVRP (Alternate Variant Reformation Program) is working to reform all the variants caught from the invincible war. They’re trying using to keep this a secret because they don’t think the public would react well.

The board cannot seem to agree on which approach they should use to reform them. The whole point is to try and get them to fight FOR Earth against Viltrum which most of them serve for in their dimensions- plus some board members think they should be punished for the damage they’ve done while others think that if they punish them it’ll cause a guarantee of betrayal from them in the future. So far, staff are trying a kinder approach- providing therapy, nice rooms inside the facility, human interaction, tv and books, etc,.

How does this AU differ from the canon?

Everything all the way up to the invincible war is canon. During the invincible war, there were more variants in this au. Every variant we’ve seen in the show during the fight is alive- the other variants that exist in this au are the ones killed. The AVRP did some major covering and reported half of the variants they caught as dead, and governments assumed whoever was behind this (angstrom levy) took the rest with him- like when he through the 8 remaining into the wasteland.

Damage has also been to the lesser extent because they worked on catching the stronger variants first. The war still lasted three days but that’s because there was more variants and it was hard to keep track of what was going on with conflicting orders being sent out.

Do they have a contingency plan?

Yes and no. It’s almost like a contingency theory. If a variant were to escape and kill up to 5 people, they would most likely incapicate them and lock them up, not giving them a second chance. If it gets up to 50 people, they will execute them. They don’t have it meticulously planned out on how to do so as they can’t agree on what method to capture, or execute.

Are they getting new names?

Yes. I wrote this down just in case nobody saw my polls but I did do polls for the variants and am picking names based on what won. Some variants I chose myself. These are just the names of a few of them, not all of them.

Some variants refused to be called anything but Mark, and some were okay with getting a new name. Due to some refusing, names were kind of forced onto them. Some are actual names, some are more so nicknames because they couldn’t pick.

Sinister mark- sinister (I feel like the name was given to him because the staff didn’t like his vibe)

Mohawk Mark- Mitch

Maskless Mark- Miller

Full Mask Mark- Miles

Retro Mark- Marcellus

Shiesty Mark- Mikey

(Yes if you’re confused by the polls, I flipped retro and sheisty’s winning names because I don’t think Marcellus fits Sheisty but Mikey does)

Omni-Mark- Min-Sung

Cap Mark/Cowl Mark- Reed

Will they interact with canon characters other than the variants?

Yes, eventually. Right now they won’t be but the first two to be introduced into the AU will be Debbie and Amber- to show the more human side of them if it’s still in there.

Staff’s favorite variants?

I feel like it’s obviously Miles (full mask) because his goal is the closest within reach, and they can give it to him. So, he mostly doesn’t get violent or retaliate. Second is Viltrum Mark (no name yet) because he keeps to himself and doesn’t retaliate against female staff or nursing staff.

And now a question for y’all. Should I do some x reader fics along with this au?

An Au where all the Invincible Variants we saw were kept alive to defend Earth from Viltrumites

This will be called the AVRP AU from now on, and here’s a few of the base line notes I wrote for the Au. This Au is meant to be shared, so if you want to create your own interpretation of it, I encourage it! Ideas and questions are also encouraged so I can expand the story of the AU.

I have some designs for the variants, some sketches, and some story building that I hope to share in the near future! Also, anyone have ideas for names for the variants? I don’t want to just call them Mohawk, Viltrum, Tracksuit, etc, because those aren’t real names yk?

Rant about how the Fandom treated Maddie and Cait:

Okay by the title it might seem like I’m in defense of what they did to the Undercity but I’m not. This is a weird gripe I have with how people reacted when they found out the two were sleeping together. Spoilers for Arcane season 1 & 2

So when I was watching season 2 of Arcane for the first time, around the time it came out because I was trying to hold off watching it to watch it with my sister but I failed, I think I had a very chill reaction to Cait sleeping with Maddie. I saw Maddie pop up and I was like, “oh, I didn’t see that coming” and continued to watch it without thinking that much into it. At this point Maddie hadn’t bertrayed Cait as this was still Act 2, not to Act 3 yet so I still liked Maddie.

Going online was very different. People started to hate her for sleeping with Caitlyn and I was confused. I don’t know, but I just have the reaction of like “okay?” Because it’s not a crime to sleep with someone. Then came the slut shaming comments towards Cait, that’s where I have the gripe. It’s very odd to me how people were mad at Caitlyn for sleeping with someone while she’s still single. She was not with Vi, it’s not cheating.

To me, I got this odd sense of purification culture, even if it was unintentional. The reaction people had to Cait sleeping with someone while she’s single compared to Jayce was odd. From what I saw, and I could be wrong, no one had a negative reaction to Jayce sleeping with Mel while single. And I’m not saying people should, because both should be able to without judgment.

It was weird to me, that people were more concerned that Cait was a “slut” than her leaving Vi crying on the ground after she hit her in the stomach with her gun. I’m bad at putting thoughts into words but I just got an icky feeling of people slutshaming the two. You’re allowed to sleep with other people! You’re allowed to date other people! That’s life, I know I haven’t stayed with one person in my life. Dating and sleeping with others is to see what you like, it’s okay to experiment.

Idk if people will understand what I’m saying but I had to get it out there. Screaming into the void

He thinks it’s very eccentric. Your sense of style definitely makes you stand out among your peers but it’s not enough for that alone to catch his attention. What will catch his attention is when you were cutting things out that you liked from a home design magazine. He at first was annoyed, saying that magazines are expensive and shouldn’t be wasted but then he looked closer to see what you were cutting out. He calms down when you explain it’s for an art project.

The art project reflects your fashion taste and that causes him to fully appreciate your clothing in depth. After that, it took only a month of hanging out before he asked you out. 

He will listen to your genre of music without complaint. It’s not his specific type of music he’s into, but he likes it enough to listen to it with you. Plus, he likes seeing you jam out to the music. 

He would like to watch you go shopping- online or in person. He finds fashion similar in a sense to home design, liking the artistic aspect of it. 

He has to hit you with the fit checks- every time either of you will go out you have to pretty much model in front of him and he will rate your outfit.

Likes over the top outfits, with accessories and makeup (no matter your pronouns/gender identity). If you don’t like makeup, he will understand, but he will continue to encourage it. If you’re more masculine presenting, he will point out artists who wear full face makeup and still look masculine. 

It is easy to get him to dress in your clothes, he dressed in Atom Eve’s costume, so it’s very easy to get him into your clothes. No matter if the clothes are too big, too small, or just right- he will be wearing them for you. But not out in public because it may be uncomfortable material to him. 

While he is very supportive of your style, it does take some getting used to. He dated Atom Eve before and when he dated her he got her everything pink because of her hero costume. So he has to rewire his brain for it to fit the aesthetics of your room, fashion, and personality.

At first he doesn’t know what to buy so he will just buy CDs of your favorite artists/bands and hope you will have a CD player or at least like the value of the CD. You love it and he lets out a breath of relief.

If you wear platform boots, he’s trying them on every now and then and walking very awkwardly back and forth in your room. 

“See? I got this. And I look hot while doing it. Babe, you got some competition~”

Almost twisted his ankles a few times in them.

Helps decorate your room. Even if he isn’t into emo/goth/punk/alternative fashion, he loves house designs and will make your room aesthetically pleasing.

He smiles at you, confident but also a hint of warmth, as you help him with his art project. After he saw you cut out pieces you liked in the modern house design magazines, he thought about doing it himself. He just didn't know where to start, so he asked you for help.

"Remember, don't douse the paper with glue," You gently reminded him as you cut out some of the objects and furniture from the magazine with the precision he didn't have.

"Yeah, yeah. I got it hun, don't even worry about it," He he gently puts a thin outline of glue around the rim of the cut out of the couch and gently pats it onto the paper below. He had printed out a picture of an empty bedroom he thought looked cool and is gluing furniture, decorations and neccesities onto the paper like he's designing a house.

As you cut out more of the pieces he picked out, some of them remind you of what you like. It doesn't entirely fit with the theme of the bedroom, which is odd because Rex is always on theme. You don't question his creative liberty with this art project he decided on making out of the blue on a random Tuesday. Once you're finished, you pull your knees to your chest and watch him do the rest.

"I never thought you would be into art."

"I'm not- not really. But this is special."

"How so?"

"It's a dream bedroom, for when we get a house"

He lifts up the slightly wet piece of paper, showing off what he made like a kid showing their parents their finished project they made at school. It's a big bedroom that is filled with both stuff you like, and stuff he likes. He nailed all of your favorite designs, aesthetics, band posters- he put a lot of thought into this. Hell, he went through 12 magazines just to make this project. It warms your heart.

"Aw, Rex. It's beautiful. I can't wait to have this house with you"

"Me either, but don't worry. One day I will make it a reality."

Y’all, please, could y’all help me pick out names for the Mark variants? In my AU, they get their own names- they can be regular names (like Miller for example) or they could be nicknames. I just don’t have the creativity to pick a perfect name for all of them 😭🫶🏽🙂‍↕️
