"Oh you pretty little thing," Lowell tuts, tracing the outline of the paddle across the outside of your thigh. You shiver, glancing down at the smooth pink metal surface and trying not to betray any nerves. Your throat bobs as you swallow, and you have a feeling that you'd let on a lot more than you intended when he giggles, reaching up to grab at your chin with his free hand.

"Do you want to remind me why I had to tie you up, Doll?" You wrench your face away from him, defiant. If he was going to act so smug, you sure as hell wanted to give him a run for his money.

"Because you're a freak who can't keep it in your pants?" You hiss, squirming against the thick red ropes wound tight around your arms and torso. The answering smack of metal against flesh has you biting your lip, trying to keep down the whimper building in your throat with everything you had.

"Aww, that's not the answer I was looking for, my little plaything. I like my toys well behaved, you know. Why don't you try again?"

"Fuck off," you reply, voice laced with petulant venom. You screwed up your eyes as the answering strikes came hard across your ass, failing to keep down a small cry in response.

"Again," he states, voice a little harder now under the teasing lilt. "Something about you not listening to me," smack, "something about you deliberately disobeying me," smack, "something about you being a relentless, needy little brat."

Hot tears well up in your eyes, the pain of the increasingly firm strikes spilling over the lines of your self control. You sob a little, a shaking, tremulous thing from deep in your chest, and the paddle comes to rest gently on what you're sure is the vibrant blooming red of a series of heart shaped impressions on your skin. The chill surface of the aluminum implement, so cruel only moments before, now cools the sting of the previously strikes slightly, offering a second of relief.

"Color," Lowell murmurs, tone briefly soft again as he assesses your condition.

"Green."

The paddle comes down hard again, and you're reminded of the strength of Lowell's arms- working, baker's arms- with brutal clarity.

Tears are spilling freely down your face now, and Lowell takes a moment to catch a bead on his thumb, pulling it up to his mouth to lick it away with a sickening sweet smile.

"Come up with anything yet, Doll? I can do this alllllll day, you know~ I'm sure you'll have such cute bruises when I'm done with you!"

You bury your chin into your chest, heaving out a breath.

"I was a brat, sir."

"Aaaaand?" He urges, bouncing the paddle lightly on the inside of your thigh.

"And uh- fuck, I- I should have listened to you, and now you've gotta make me."

Seemingly satisfied with your answer, Lowell delivered another quick strike to the sensitive flesh of your inner thigh, humming appreciatively at your responding whimper.

That sugared tone of his sent shivers crawling down your spine, and you pushed your hips forward a little, coming to realize exactly how much his harsh treatment had been affecting you when the evidence of your arousal slid against your underwear. He looked down, noticing as you had what he was doing to you, and discarded the paddle somewhere in the sheets.

"Oh you desperate thing," he sighed. "My desperate little slut, I really got you that worked up just putting you back in your place, huh? Looks like my toy wants me to play with them a little more~" He snickered at that, hands tracing over the purpling impressions he'd left on you before settling over your crotch, his breathing becoming heavy as they played with your waistband.

I deal with horrible paranoia and hallucinations, It’s gotten a bit better though, which leads me to ask this- How would Lowell be with an MC who’s in an episode of paranoia and hallucinations? Such as thinking someone’s out to get them, there’s someone outside the door, inside their home. And seeing disturbing things. #illnessman

That's going to depend on how long its been since he's slept! Lowell also suffers from sleep deprivation induced psychotic periods, so he understands what you're going through pretty well.

If he himself is stable and present while you're going through an episode, he'll very gently try to calm you down without either feeding into the paranoia or trying to 'break you out' of non consensus reality, because he understands that neither of those approaches are really gonna work. He'll reassure you that you're safe, check locks and closets to make sure everything is safe and secure as many times as you need, try to distract you if you're particularly freaked out by a visual hallucination, hold you to his chest and pet your hair to try and ground you, that kind of thing. If you have meds that help, he'll keep them in his apron/pockets just in case so they're always on hand.

If it's been more than 2 or 3 days since he's slept, then he's- a little less helpful. At baseline, he takes your experiences pretty seriously, and if his grip on reality is tenuous, he's likely to end up in a kind of shared delusion with you. He won't be the best at grounding you or calming the situation, but if you think someone is after you or seeing things that are threatening, he'll go full Scary Protective mode and try to go after it to keep you safe. Not really... effective, but there's a chance it could come across as comforting.
