I don't think I've posted this yet, a little drabble for @darlingdollhousevn ! It's very short, but I just wanted to write something fluffy and cute for Lowell based off an ask I sent a while ago <3

"Stay still, Doll~"

You tried not to squirm, suppressing a giggle as the ticklish feeling of the makeup brush swept across your cheeks. You'd been doing pretty well to stay still until now, but the urge to fidget was getting stronger and stronger.

Luckily that was the end of it, as Lowell sprayed some setting spray across your face you couldn't help but be relieved. If you'd had to sit still any longer you'd have went crazy for sure!

"And done!" Lowell held up a handheld mirror for you to look at yourself. "Waddya think?~"

You took the mirror, inspecting your makeup with a smile. "Hmm... I like it!" You said with a nod. "I've never tried a full face of makeup like this. It's interesting to see!" You batted your eyes to get a better look at the eyeshadow. "Ooh, the eyeshadow is super pretty!"

"Right?!" Lowell exclaimed excitedly. "That's my favorite part!" He seemed pleased at your praise, beaming as he took the mirror from you.

"So?" You asked expectantly, looking at him with a smile. "Don't I get a reward for sitting still so long?"

Lowell chuckled. "Of course!" He opened his arms wide, scooping you into a hug, being careful not to mess up the makeup he'd just applied.

You squeaked, laughing as you looped your arms around his neck as he spun you around a couple of times before sitting down with you in his lap.

You carefully rested your cheek against his chest, hearing his heartbeat.

The words bubbled out, threatening to spill, but you held them back.

Not yet.

It'd never been easy for you to talk about your feelings, and yet the more time you spent with Lowell, the man who'd kidnapped you, the harder it became for you to not tell him how you felt.

After all, what would it say about you if you told your kidnapper you'd fallen in love with him?

So, even if you knew how you felt, you'd deny it for as long as possible.

What about Lowell's psychology makes him want to keep the mc and pamper them like a doll?

Excellent question! It's a little bit spoilers but without revealing too much he feels a total loss of control within his own life and that's extremely frustrating to him. Keeping a Doll, and particularly keeping them well, allows him to feel useful, interact with someone in a way that he feels a little more comfortable in, and gives him the opportunity to exert control after a long life of having pretty much no ability to do so.

He's also an avid collector who does like collecting dolls in general, and it thrills him to have a real live human specimen- the most unique doll he could possibly own, in his opinion.

How would Lowell feel about an MC that's also a doll collector, as well as customizing Monster High dolls? :D (I'm curious since I have a LOT of sharp objects lying around for this hobby haha)

Oh he'd be thrilled that you shared a hobby like that, he could talk to you about it for hours, and he'd make sure to gather up your collection and your tools and bring them to you in the attic. He'd build custom display shelves for you, buy you limited or rare editions (with very little regard on cost- he may not be swimming in money but he values collecting so much that he's willing to pay quite a bit to indulge both himself and you), and get you everything you needed for your projects! He'd like to help make custom clothing and accessories for you, and would probably insist on making you matching outfits.

As for sharp objects... well. You might have to earn a LITTLE trust from him to get those privileges, and it may be supervised at first, but he also isn't opposed to you, say.... 'customizing' him a little :0)

Lowell went to culinary school but ended up having to drop out in the last couple of months due to medical and financial complications- he hates his current job and believes he is overqualified and deserves to work in a much more elevated environment

He has a younger sister that he's kept tabs on over the years, but he hasn't had contact with his family in a long time.

Lowell learned to sew from his mother, who was a seamstress while he was growing up in Massachusetts.

His very first ever collection was frog statues, the kind you'd find in a garden store. They all had names, personalities, and intricate backstories. He kept notes on them in a Lisa Frank notebook, and would rearrange their positions in his room frequently.

He's not a natural redhead!

Lowell was a smoker for a very long time, and while he no longer chainsmokes, he'll still light up a cigarette if he's particularly exhausted, stressed, or needs a little treat.

He can't swim :(

He has pretty poor wound healing, and he scars and bruises really easily.

He met you first through your job! MC will have a position in an art store and he saw you while looking for a specialty fabric dye.

He has killed people before.

Lowell would love a wax museum date!

He's already got all your measurements :) it won't stop him from taking them again when he gets you alone though. He finds it kind of romantic!

He will get mad if you touch/break a lot of his stuff- he's very protective of his collections and has object hyperempathy. it can be genuinely painful to him when things break, go missing, or are touched/displayed "wrong".

His favorite food is soup.

On top of being an insomniac he doesn't really like sleeping in beds- when he sleeps it's usually on the couch or floor or something.

His favorite thing to knit is shawls! He does some pretty interesting things with them, sometimes with intricate lace, beading, colorwork, or other details.

He has a secret petplay kink (recieving). He would deny it to the ends of the earth but being called kitten gives him an instant boner. Extremely unlikely to allow himself to actually submit but he MIGHT be a mean kitty dom, if you convince him hard enough :3c he'd be on high alert to make sure he doesn't end up in subspace though.

He had an intense scene phase. Full on raccoon stripes, under eye liner, hot topic cash carrying, get scared listening ass emo. Still has his well loved busted up ipod nano from when he initially got really into the subculture.

His first crush was on Brent Spiner. Quickly followed by Tilda Swinton.

Has a washi tape collection but has never actually used any of the tape.

He owns a pair of The Chanel Boots™️

Hopefully this is enough to keep yall fed a moment ;-; sorry this project has taken a lapse BUT I'm putting together something to introduce the five whole other characters that will be included in this game, and my schedule just got cleared for a few more days a week so hopefully I'll have some more stuff for you guys soon!

why arent Lowell and his sister talking?

he left home around 17 and she didn't have a phone or internet access at the time, so he wasn't able to stay in contact with her that way, and he wasn't willing to send letters in case his mother received them instead. he still feels pretty guilty for essentially abandoning her, and he knows he isn't a great person, so he doesn't really want to impact her life negatively by association. he looks her up pretty frequently to check in on her and follows her socials through a burner account, but that's about it.

what can Lowell eat as a guilty pleasure besides soup?

Lowell feels a little guilty about everything he eats, he doesn't really feel like he's worth getting his basic needs met. The other things he tends to eat the most often are cooked red cabbage with wine and onions, pumpernickel bread with margarine, and beans straight out of the can 💀 as a treat sometimes he eats salted licorice wheels. He is a phenomenal cook, but he doesn't spend all that much energy on actually cooking for himself. He's likely to go all out and cook you a 3-4 course meal and just sit there with his beans, not even bothering to put them on a plate or heat them up.

He did have braces as a preteen! He was the kind of kid to get horrible sores in his mouth and still insist on eating sour candy, lol
