Chinese Transliteration of Star Wars Sequels 《星球大战后传》 Character Names and their meanings

Since I don’t own any Sequel DVDs, I’ll be taking from various reviews and articles written in the Chinese language online including 维基百科 Wikipedia & 百度百科 Baidu Encyclopedia. There may be more than one popular name transliteration for a single character, which I’ll include them all in here. Each different name will be separated by a double stroke “//”.

***Obligatory mention of a certain character who got redeemed at the last minute at the very end of the list. Tread at your own discretion.

Chinese Transliteration: 蕾伊 // 芮

Meanings:

蕾 (lěi) = a flower bud

伊 (yī) = a third-person pronoun (he/she); a particle used to add flair to the text

芮 (ruì) = small

萝 (luó) = a radish/carrot

丝 (sī) = silk; a thread/wire; the slightest/smallest/least

缇 (tí) = an orange-red colour

克 (kè) = a gram; to overcome; to digest; to restrain/subdue/capture; an auxiliary verb “can”

卡 (kǎ) = a card; a cheque; a checkpoint/customs house; to clip/fasten/wedge; to stop; to be choked

娜 (nà) = elegant/graceful; also frequently used in feminine names like Anna 安娜, Lina 丽娜, etc.

塔 (tǎ) = a tower/column/pagoda

Meanings:

艾 (ài) = mugwort/wormwood; beautiful/pretty; being very old/senior/elderly; things keep ascending/developing/unfolding

米 (mǐ) = rice; a metre

琳 (lín) = a beautiful jade/gem

何 (hé) = what/how/why; which

朵 (duǒ) = a quantifier for flowers or clouds or anything flower/cloud-like; almost always paired with 耳 in daily conversation to form 耳朵 (lit. the ears)

霍 (huò) = suddenly/quickly

尔 (ěr) = thou/you; thus/so/like that/like so

I know I am exceptionally late for this; it was supposed to be for @virgiltracyweek, but all my motivation died and I ended up finishing it late. And it’s only one part of what I was planning on doing. I’ll hopefully still be able to do the rest of it; it’s vaguely based off some RP things that happened this summer with @sonatanotwo, @flyboytracy, @starman-john-tracy, and @gordoncoopertracy. But, anyway, here’s a Virgil! Being exceptionally confused at the start of a long, confusing, plaid-shirt wearing day.

I realized I needed to sit down and make an official character reference for EOS. Well, facially at least. Partly for my own reference, partly for anyone else who might be interested in drawing her. So, a bunch of different expressions and some notes (in my very tiny scribbly handwriting).

The little pout at the bottom was based off Alan, btw. She’s picking up bad habits from him. And the “Lost Connection to Server” (Middle left) is part of a little story idea I was working with. (And based off one of my favorite EDI moments from Mass Effect 3).

Okay- so I’m the first person to hate when the one token main girl character ends up as the romantic lead- BUT THE FACT THAT ROOSTER AND PHOENIX CLEARLY HAD HISTORY AND IT WAS QUASI-EDITED OUT OF TOP GUN: MAVERICK TO MAKE IT MORE PLATONIC IS SOMETHING I WILL NEVER RECOVER FROM
