just a reminder that the UN classifies forced pregnancy/denial of an abortion as actual torture. that’s how essential reproductive rights are.

like….not 2 get into this really but..freedom of speech means that the government can’t tell you what you can and can’t say. freedom of speech does not protect you from the social/private repercussions of your actions

Hey guys, I know a lot of you may not be crafty people, but please listen.
Ravelry, the largest online crafting community (of several million people), just banned all Trump support on it’s platform claiming that he is a white supremacist and all of his supporters must be the same. Let’s start: First off, Trump isn’t a white supremacist. Thought I should get that out of the way.
Secondly, you just banned the political opinion of HALF OF AMERICA. You are saying that HALF OF THE COUNTRY are racist. Even the ones that don’t happen to be white. You are saying that anyone can say anything politically, except for the Trump supporters, who we say are second-class intellectual citizens based on a lie that they aren’t allowed to refute.
Thirdly, Oh Yeah! If you complain about this, they will delete your comment. You can’t protest, you can’t get mad, all disagreement is hate speech.
Fourthly, Ravelry is a HUGE source of income to crafters! It is where you buy and sell patterns, yarn, and other yarn crafting supplies. Ravelry is also where crafting events are organized. They are essentially saying that you can’t make income unless you agree with their false claim.
Fifthly, this is a precedent for other sites. After doing some research, ravelry followed in the footsteps of rpg.com, who did the same thing. If we let Ravelry sweep people they disagree with to the side, and essentially gag a whole spectrum of viewpoints on a false claim, then where do they stop? Other social media has tried to take down conservative viewpoints, and said the same vile things, calling people racist, bigoted, homophobic, and essentially sub-human, as if saying those things without evidence and shouting them louder when they are refuted makes you cozy and inclusive. It’s a very us vs. them mentality, and I have to wonder if the people who make these rules are ever around people who disagree with them, or if they realized that people they knew did disagree with them would they turn them out in an instant or see common humanity?
Again, I know this isn’t everyone’s thing, but if you could reblog or make your own post, I would be eternally grateful: I am trying to use the hashtag notokayravelry to get things going. Crazy knitter types can’t let injustice stand!

Some would think that having multiple people attempting to gain your favour and permission to court you, would be a good thing. Unfortunately, you now know very differently. It definitely doesn’t help that all five of your potential suitors are incredibly powerful and influential youkai.
You’re genuinely shocked that no one has died yet, given all the growling and fighting that goes on. Actually, considering some of the frankly alarming courting gifts you’ve received, you’re not entirely certain just how well that statement stands.
Genuinely can’t put into words how fucking fuming I am that people are not going to see Captain Marvel because they think it’s a film about “putting down men”. She is a powerful superhero who is going to be more powerful than other male characters in the MCU, this doesn’t mean she’s putting them down. Thor is clearly a more powerful character than Valkyrie in Ragnarok but none of us have come online and said the film is sexist/puts down women, it’s just the character’s qualities. Why can’t we just enjoy this new super hero for her amazing qualities and either celebrate the fact she’s a woman, or just not let it effect you’re judgement at all until you’ve seen it. The comments I’ve seen online are honestly delirious. Genuinely people worrying that she will be, and I quote, “an unlikeble character who will use her powers to show up other men in the MCU”, so basically if she does anything powerful or cool in endgame these losers are gonna write it off as what I will assume they define as “feminist propaganda”. Honestly if anyone is thinking like this PLEASE just get a life, take the film for what it is: a superhero movie about an extremely powerful and awesome individual who, yes, will most likely be one of the most powerful additions to the MCU, shut up and enjoy it, or don’t, but don’t use gender as your reason for claiming it’s a bad film.
Reverse chestburster is the antichrist
Your back has been aching for weeks now, every movement sending jolts of pain through your nerves. This morning as you slowly and gingerly get out of bed, you can feel your whole back throbbing. Though you want to sleep longer, you know you have to make something to eat, as there isn’t really anyone else around to do it. Hesitantly, you press your hand to your back, swallowing thickly as you find your skin incredibly hot to the touch, noting some swelling as well.
Deciding on a nice cold shower, you shakily stand and begin hobbling to the bathroom. After barely five steps, your vision suddenly whites with agony. Screaming out, you fall to your hands and knees, clutching at the floor with a white knuckled grip. There’s a sickening ripping sound, followed by a few wet thumps, and you feel something hot and wet splatter all over you.
You’re still in pain, but there’s some relief now, as if a pressure has been released. Shakily you lift your head, eyes widening in horror at the display of gore that now covers the room. You just barely register something soaked in blood, arching out to the side from your back, before you pass out, the ordeal simply too much for you to handle.
