Okay but look, I think Bart might have DID (Dissociative identity Disorder) and here’s why:

Bart obviously has a lot of trauma, a lot more than a normal teenager should, even for superheroes, and it isn’t a competition, but a lot more than all his teammates (Tim, Kon, Cassie, etc.). He hides everything about him being upset about his past and trauma behind his fun persona that he named “impulse”. He may not have made the hero name but he made its personality.

There are a lot of moments where it’s him being super positive about a really negative situation, and we know he knows it. He realises it’s a delicate situation but he still smiles. I think he has a personality that physically doesn’t let him think badly about a situation that was created by his PTSD. GuyS

God the chaos. Absolutely off the charts ADHD energy, zero focus to hyperfocus and back in literal seconds. Bouncing back and forth through topics like nobody's business, like chains of 'oh that reminds me of--' from like what food to get to genius level mechanical engineering to theoretical space-time shizzle to oh shit we forgot the ice cream. I feel like their conversations would be incomprehensible to anyone else lmao

Might be interesting to contrast a Bart who wholly embraces his place in flashfam, who values the legacy and wants to uphold it, with a Jason that's estranged from batfam, who constantly questions his place with them, who *wants* to value the legacy but also fundamentally disagrees with it's principles

Also, they both have experience finding their place after time displacement, and they both often have their insight/opinions overlooked or ignored even when they're right!

Propagation of the Ace Jace agenda? Interesting moral debates about pacifism at all costs Vs killing for the greater good? Because you get all the Ollie Vs Bruce drama that you get with JayRoy, but also get Roy and Dick being absolutely insufferable about their little brothers dating?

Fic Prompt: Notebook (Romance)

Person (A) missed a class and asked to borrow person (B)s notes. Person (B) gives (A) their notebook and tells them to just give it back the next day. Person (A) opens it to study that night but notices how neat it all was and the little notes and doodles of random things along all the pages. After studying, (A) went through and just looked at the cute doodles and note-to-selfs. (A) didn't know (B) could draw, and finds it cute getting to know them through the drawings, finding by the end, (A) has a little crush.

WAIT I JUST READ YOUR TAGS WHATS YOUR THREE LIGHTNING RODS THEORY?

I AM SO GLAD SOMEONE ASKED THIS I WANTED TO RAMBLE ABOUT IT SO BADLY. I’m not sure how canon this is but it’s kind of based around the first issue of rebirth where Linda can’t pull Wally back from the speed force but Barry could and it got me thinking.

So there’s three types of love: romantic, platonic, and familial. Since each character that a speedster has had as a lightning rod could be connected through love in one of those forms, I sort of made up this theory around it. For example: Wally’s three lightning rods are Linda (romantic), Dick (platonic), and Barry (familial). Barry’s would be Iris, Hal, and Wally for the same reasons.

Obviously it doesn’t work for everyone (as far as I know, Bart barely has a love interest outside of that one girl from the Impulse comics forever ago), and it can absolutely change based on what you ship for the most part (Wally having Barry and Linda as lightning rods is canon lol), so they don’t HAVE to have three: if you want, they can have only one or two or three of the same kind etc but you get the picture. But it’s a really interesting theory to me mostly because of that fact that love of ALL types is such an important of what makes all of the speedsters heroes. I’ve been saying forever that their true power is love and friendship, but you know, it’s all just a theory. A really, really cool one. So yeah.
